The Poorman: Mexico, Cuba,USA
I've been in Capetown, South Africa for the past few days, so I thought this would be appropriate.

My mom is an immigrant from Italy, I meet and talk with many Europeans...Bosnian, Russian, Italian and Irish mostly.
They say American government sucks, but American oppurtunity rocks.
You can get ahead here. But that our President and Congress belong in a Gulag. Yvgienne (spelling?) said that, our mail man!
Welcome to the United States of malevalence.

ahaha that was pretty good. i loved the very last second.

Let me ask this in a typically polite Canadian way:
Could you please keep your hate-filled evil wing nuts on your side of the border, and off my campus?
http://www.godhatesfags.com/written/fliers/20080214_ontario-laramie-proj...
Thank you.
This is the best and brightest mind we have? Well, I guess he has to say this crap to get elected...I hope he doesn't actually believe the highlighted portion.
OBAMA: Tim, I have some of the strongest support from the Jewish community in my hometown of Chicago and in this presidential campaign. And the reason is because
, as is true with my relationship with the Jewish community.
McCain's birthplace prompts queries about whether that rules him out
I just heard a reporter ask the Prez what hope he could offer the public, what with gas expected to hit $4 a gallon. And Bush goes, "Really? I hadn't heard that."
Asinine!
I'd druther hear Barney Speaks!!
kablooie @ 11:
Really, I only have two butt cheeks.
The Kwaito music is very cool. Thanks!
marko @ 1:
As my fave Bubba Clinton found.
kablooie @ 11:
No surprise. Not like he buys his own gas. Remember his elitist daddy? Had no idea how much a loaf of bread or gallon of milk cost.
These people live an entirely different existence than we do.
NorthernTrombonist @ 8:
We've got plenty of our own anyway.
marko @ 3:
Thank you, Marko , you made my day ! Oh, how I wish someone could cut into CNN's feed and broadcast that clip .
Peter G @ 17:
Yes, but exporting evil hate-filled wingnuttery is no way to balance your trade deficit.
NorthernTrombonist @ 8:
Yes most definatly....I hope Canada Customs intercepts these wingnuts at the border and turns them around. I have heard the man in charge of this group interviewed on the CBC. I really don't want him in my country
Read the blog about the South African dance music and wanted to recommend the Vampire Weekend to everybody. It's Afro Pop with Indie college rock stylings and some incredibly catchy lyrics. It's tearing up college radio recently. Fantastic band! Also just recently got into the Arcade Fire. Wow... What an amazing band and an amazing band lead.
"MTV, what have you done to me?
Save my soul, set me free!
Set me free! What have you done to me?
I can't breathe! I can't see!
World War III, when are you coming for me?
Been kicking up sparks, we set the flames free
The windows are locked now so what'll it be?
A house on fire or a rising sea?"
Rusty Shackleford @ 16:
It's a fundamental problem with our "democracy". The majority of our leaders cannot actually represent their constituents because they simply don't understand them.
kablooie @ 11:
Then later when he was asked another question about something else, he said he hadn't had time to look into it because he had been dealing with things like gas prices.
NorthernTrombonist @ 19:
Do I need to remind you that we sent them David Frum which could easily be seen as an act of war.
Rusty Shackleford @ 16:
Rusty, I was watching your President when this comment came up. It looked like he wanted to beat the crap out of the reporter that brought up the subject of $4 a gallon gas. I hate to say this but welcome to what the rest of the first world pays for gas. Where I live in Northern BC we pay $4.80 a gallon. I hate to say it but your country is in for one hell of a reality check.
Yes, but exporting evil hate-filled wingnuttery is no way to balance your trade deficit.
Do I need to remind you that we sent them David Frum which could easily be seen as an act of war.
Good point. We should probably keep our heads down for that one.
It is unusual though that the extremists are heading north to cause problems, when EVERYBODY KNOWS that it's our lax laws are allowing 'thu terrists' to infiltrate the US of A.
Mike the Canuck @ 25:
Yes but, you have universal health care and can afford $4.80 a gallon.
Busholini's "energy policy" = vigorously exploring MORE oil domestically. NOT conservation. Not dramatically higher fuel efficiency standards.
Son.Of.A.Bitch.Moron.
Dr. Acula @ 28:
When any repub mentions getting off foreign oil, what they are saying is let's drill the shit out of our coast, Alaska and anywhere else in our country they think they might find oil.
Mike the Canuck @ 25:
"My president"? Whatever. I didn't vote for the fucker.
In Germany they pay $7.50 a gallon. So it sounds like we're not so different after all.
Mike the Canuck @ 25:
I don't want to derail the thread, just a quick question:
Mike the Canuck: Where in Northern BC? I have family in Chetwynd.
Nader is now telling us who the chump is thats going to be his VP.
pissed off patricia @ 23:
I liked the part where he said, about Cuba, "I'm not suggesting this is a good time to talk to them and I'm not suggesting this is a good time to NOT talk to them..." Then he said something about "Not embracing" Cuba, and a reporter said, "I wasn't suggesting that we EMBRACE Cuba" and Bush shot back, "Talking to IS embracing!" He backtracked on that with some mishmash like, "Oh, an embrace is a big hug! Thank you [reporter's name] for reminding me to use different words..." Lol.
You know, everytime I see Bush I just want to go out and buy more gold or silver. With gold now hitting an all time high of $970 an ounce it seems that everyone else is thinking the same thing. In other words, I have lost confidence in the Government and Federal Reserve's monetary policies.
Joe O. @ 34:
Interesting, it seems that word about the dollar is getting around as well and from some very unlikely sources:
Greenspan tells Gulf to drop dollar
"Alan Greenspan, the former chairman of the US central bank, or Fed, has said that inflation rates in Gulf states, which are reaching near record levels, would fall "significantly" if oil producers dropped their US dollar pegs."

NorthernTrombonist @ 31:
Ft Nelson...just a little further north
And Rusty, sorry about the insult I just didn't know how to word it correctly.
He really doesn't have a clue about whats going on does he?
Anonymous @33
I guess I'll have to talk to some Cubans when I'm there for vacation in April.
Viva Cuba
Remember the Lower 9th ward
Gasoline prices in Europe are as high as they are because of all the taxes.
"Incoherent sounds uttered from the President's mouth today..."
kablooie @ 11:
Gas is almost $5/gallon where I live, and it is cheaper than in Europe. Whatcha Americans worried about? Pay it like we do.
Dr. Acula @ 38:
True, but they have healthcare. Hahahahaaha!!!
ConcernedCanuck @ 41:
Right -- and so do you!!!
Taxes are anathema to the rethugs. F*cking morons that they are!
Nobody Asked Me, But...
