Charlie Rose has the arch traitor on his show tonight, Nancy Pelosi, who I still believe should be charged with high treason and hung if found guilty. Beholden only to AIPAC, this traitor has done more harm than any woman in government in the history of the US. With her Botox smile, dental caps and Dior kerchief, she has been not only been totally useless, but has caused irreperable harm to her country. She abused the trust the electorate gave her. For shame.
Two shooting news stories, both involving children and adults victims, compare the LA to the Dallas hospital treatment.
In LA they seem to have bandaided and kicked the patients out the hospital door PDQ,
while in Dallas they are staying In hospital. Do they not have the beds in LA for recovering shooting victims !?

That picture's great except there was a diaper involved and their positions have been switched. McKinkybabyfetish is also missing the pacifier.
ferro: Also of note about the L.A. shooting is that it involved a semi-automatic weapon, the kind banned under a law Bush repealed. People who tear down old ships have dangerous work. Bush is in denial as usual. Is Pelosi reconsidering
impeachment? Or is she just talking big?

One would figure that the Republicans would be thrilled with McCain's alleged affair - it is the first Republican scandal in some time that does not involve either repressed homosexuality, blatant deviant behavior in an airport bathroom, or even the use of crystal meth. Hey, thanks for the heads-up! However, while you may be an arch traitor, she is not.

The Speaker is not guilty of treason.
"Beholden only to AIPAC,"
The Speaker is very much NOT beholden to AIPAC. She does, however, represent a city, San Francisco, which is 1/3 Jewish. Shall she not represent her constituents?
"this traitor has done more harm than any woman in government"
You hate her for being a woman? Her femaleness is somehow pertinent?
"in the history of the US."
Well, that's a problem, since there have been so few. Since women were only recognized as fit for voting in 1925, donchaknow.
"With her Botox smile, dental caps and Dior kerchief,"

But you need a SCAPEGOAT, to hold your pants up.

Proud2bHumble @ 52:
It has nothing to do with sense of humor. Do you want to be taken seriously, or not? If not, if you just want C&L to preach to the choir like Rush Limbaugh, then that's OK, I suppose. But if you want to practice what you preach, if you don't want to be hypocritical, you shouldn't resort to this sort of stuff. It's bush-league (no pun intended), and whenever the right wing does it, C&L calls them on it -- so why are we doing it too?

That's alright. I'm not going to fuel her dic(k)tatorial aspirations.
RueMorgue @ 62:
I think your hatred of her is quite ridiculous, if you compare her to almost any Republican, or to McCain't for that matter. She would be a far better President than he would (four more wars), and would not choose hardcore rightwingers to the Court just to make the 'gooks' in the public suffer.
Paul in LA @ 59:
Does Crooks and Liars want to be taken seriously? It doesn't matter if it's an "open thread" or not -- if you want to criticize the Right for doing shameful things, you shouldn't be encouraging the same stuff with your own people, let alone initiating it. How can you criticize others when you do the same stuff they do? I love this site, and what they do, but I simply feel like they should be above this kind of thing. Maybe I'm simply naive...
Paul in LA @ 63:
Fuck that. When she clutches at every straw available to her out of desperation to win this primary just because her own dumbass couldn't competently manage a campaign against a junior Senator, I have no reason whatsoever to vote for her, and certainly not on the sympathy angle you're trying to play. She's a typical Beltway Democrat, and I didn't care for the last one of those we had in office.
Better than most any Republican? Possibly. Worse than virtually any potential Democratic candidate? That, too.
Alan @ 64:
The criticism of the proto-fascist former Republican party can never be too much or 'over the top.' They have proven that.
If you're going to be a scold, why not work on THE ONGOING CRIMES instead of the supposed politeness of political controversy.
A doily is NOT going to bring those lives back, or somehow "heal" what needs several wash cycles through a fiercely-just series of Grand Juries. Fuck them if they can't take a joke a their expense -- and fuck them if we can ever get them into court, because their crimes are a lot more real than the riposte's of the Left in confronting such great EVIL.

About the only good thing that would come from an Obama-Clinton ticket would be her position as President of the Senate, which she is admittedly more than qualified for. But I do not believe that outweighs the stigma attached to her name amongst non-Democrats and independents.
RueMorgue @ 77:

He is (or, rather, was) within a very broad spectrum of potentials after the failed 2000 bid. That is of course ancient history, but he's about the only remotely possible national candidate I'd give better odds to of being worse than Clinton.
No doubt of it, and I'm not debating that. But that's when he assumes the Presidency, and you can't deny that the absurd right-wing attacks on Clinton still have resonance today. I dislike her greatly, but I don't out-and-out have a death wish for her like they did.

That press conference was embarassing. I've come to expect Bush to look like an idiot sometimes but that was bad on so many levels. Then I wonder what he can still do in the time he has left and it makes me a sad panda.

Roark77 @ 97 "I keep reminding myself that he's almost done."
To treat a traitor as an inconvenience is foolhardy. He's raping our brothers and sisters, right now. There is NO reason for treating his continued tenancy in the Shitehouse as a given. Agitate for justice. Speak truth to power. Educate others.
"Then I wonder what he can still do in the time he has left and it makes me a sad panda."

It really is amazing how different cultures have a different take on these things.

Check it out. This year, as a result of the Idiot, we have a 'mixed-race,' a woman, a torture victim, and a formerly-fat preacher, a Mormon science experiment, a couple of bigots, L Ron Paul (Son of the South, if you know what I mean), and a Nader Maraschino cherry. We might even get a rich Mayor into it, instead of the formerly-rich Mayor of Nine-eleven, the place no one wants to go again, for $15,000 a vote.
It's not going to be the match of the century. McAin't won't. And Clinton is going to have to spend eight years in penance for her ambition and bad decisions (during, it's true, a ton of shit) in order to have a much more fair appraisal of her right to be President.

There has to be another break-up of Bell. The conglomerates have to be broken back up, the media system made more fair and more diverse, the way the laws say.
We may have enough power by 2010 to start that process.
Tequila @ 119 "So [Edwards] didn't vote for an illegal war
That vote changed absolutely nothing. No Dem vote mattered one way or another. The fix was in on the Republican side; they already had the majority. The only question from the Dem Senate side was how to position around it. And if you will read Clinton's floor speech, you will understand that she offered a considerable justification for her vote; Edwards has equivalent justifications. The childish idea that the Senate operates on YOUR ideals is not in effect in the Senate.
"and help Bush win 2004 by refusing to denounce it?"
Bush did NOT win in 2004. Where have you been? It was STOLEN in Ohio, and a lot of other places. Edwards wanted to challenge; Kerry (and the party) declined.
John Edwards is nothing like a perfect human being. But he has done a lot of good in his life, and is a loyal, honest, decent person, who would NOT have done what Bush did, ever. His vote either way could not stop Bush, and anyhow, it's a PRETENSE, this trying to tag him with that vote as if it is equivalent to Bush's crimes. Nonsense.

That's not a correct interpretation. The Feingold bills are co-sponsored by Leader Reid, and Reid promised to allow them time in the calendar as soon as possible.
But the continuing DINO block of 20-25 Bushco-voting "Democrats," such as Rockefeller, or Feinstain is still there, still continuing to be there, 60-75 votes when they need them -- the reason why impeachment is off the table in the House. So progress in stopping Bushco's seizure of Iraq and bankrupting of the Treasury is often not successful, because there aren't enough loyal votes.
You can blame that on the party if you like, but these people are being elected in the States, and it is REALLY hard to remove Senators, generally, as you would know if you have tried to.
