Blue America Welcomes Jim Neal

This afternoon at 2pm (in North Carolina, 11am here at C&L World Headquarters) Blue America is hosting our first Q&A with progressive senate candidate Jim Neal, who is running against Bush rubber stamp Elizabeth Dole for a seat-- ironically once held by Jesse Helms.

Jim made a video for us yesterday explaining why he opposes the Bush Regime's demands for retroactive immunity for themselves and their Telecom cronies. Take a look at the one minute clip and consider coming over to FDL and asking Jim any questions you'd like. Also, please consider making a donation to his campaign at our Blue America page. He's up against the Big Corporate interests and has no one behind him... but the grassroots and ordinary citizens of North Carolina.

We're back?

What happened?

Not a bad video. Notice that he stated his beliefs and backed them up with reason instead of just making accusations.

RHM

Let's get a Blue America candidate to run against wacko nut-case Jack Kingston, R-Ga.

Dole will probably pwn him... although this is not the best possible outcome.

Dole has the single most important thing going for her in most elections - name recognition.
I sent the link over to some of my N.C. friends. I'll drop a dime or two on this guy.
Thing I like most about ActBlue and Blue america is I get to target my donations. This household no longer gives to the NDCC and other Dem orgs.
We give to Democrats.
Going to be interesting to see how things play out over the next few years. The progressive community is going to be holding many of these newly elected Dems (are you listening Jim Webb and Claire McCaskill?) to the fire. I sent a very strongly worded reply to the Colorado Dem Chairwoman recently when solicited for a set at a recent event featuring Webb. HE has got to know that his vote on immunity is highly OFFENSIVE.

I'm from Asheville, NC. I call Elizabeth Dole, and Heath Shuler whenever I get an email from moveon.org. NC was under control for many years by a hateful bigot by the name of Jesse Helms. Jesse Helms actually pased a law, that said that if you "drop out" of high school, you are not eligable for funding for colledge. Of course, I didn't know this when I dropped out an ineffective, and mind numbing public high school, and started to persue my career. So when I tried to go back to collledge, I was unable to. I have always done the work that I love, so screw you Jesse Helms! It would be amazing to have someone represent us either Dem or Rep, who wasn't just a stupid nearsighted redneck. Our "Dem" Heath Shuler, who we fought hard to get elected, is more red than blue. Why don't democrates have teeth? Why won't they stand up?

Another Asheville Democrat here, and I'm supporting Kay Hagan in her run against Liddy Dole. She's got more local support across the state to raise the money and recognition needed to beat Dole.

I've covered the campaign from the start (in fact Jim's HQ is only a couple of miles from my house), and he's worthy of support and votes. Dole is polling poorly, and Jim and Hagan are viritually tied.

As I said during the liveblog, I’m so glad that Blue America has tossed its hat in the ring for Jim. He will be a senator who actually listens to North Carolinians, something, sadly that Elizabeth Dole has failed to do. She only shows up when her seat is on the line (or when she vacations and issues a press release to inform constituents). We’re tired of the Bush-rubber-stamp representation that is completely out of touch with needs in the Tar Heel State. Jim Neal is the real deal; I’ve been blogging for months that he is indeed electable, and the polls have all reinforced my belief that it’s truly possible to turn this page.

To read up on my prior posts, here are all Pam’s House Blend posts on Jim Neal.

Here are a few:

Hi. I'm from NC, and believe it or not, Elizabeth Dole does not live in this state, and neither does Bob. She is nothing but a wig and a rubber stamp.
