Iraq Today: As you read these reports, remember that President Bush has admitted that the invasion and occupation of Iraq was aimed primarily at seizing predominant influence over its oil by establishing permanent military bases.

an election which makes "theater of the absurd" seem absurd.
Keep drinking beer, keep driving your SUV, keep shopping at Walmart, keep watching Pro Sports, keep watching American Idol, and when the lights go out, and the cable won't work, and gas is $12 a gallon, remember that C&L and other blogs like it have been on the right side of the issues raised in the segment long before the "public" figures out there is an issue.

Yep, projecting America's might. No word on if they actually hit their intended target or not though. Military technology is great but is useless without almost perfect intelligence on the ground. For all we know, they hit a herd of goats or something and will claim the goats were "Al Qaeda" in disguise.

I used to listen to NPR allot before Air America but when ever I tune in anymore it doesn't take but a few minutes before I hear something completely untrue. Slowly over the last 40 or so years the Right Wing has bombarded the country with their view of the world presenting opinion as fact. Facts have a definite liberal bias. I remember hearing complaints way back when that elementary schools were teaching a liberal view of history and civics. Liberals, in their nature, wanting to always be fair took this seriously. The results were to not teach many of the bedrock principals was founded on. This country was founded by Liberals, not Christians, not everyone for them selves Libertarians, but Liberals.

Indeed and you'd think we'd at least give the innocents in the area some warning we were about to fire missiles at the Al-Qaeda guys living two houses down eh?

I mean how difficult is it to infiltrate these cells on the ground with special agents and just nab these guys?

Iraq Today: link = ERROR 404
L.A. Confidential @ 18:
Agreed. "Lighting up" a an area with missiles or gun fire is just plain reckless without having penetrated the cells first or having an agent or someone on the ground who is actually pin pointing the targets actual location. I'm sure the military industrial complex loves this sort of thing though because that ordinace will now have to be replaced and we taxpayers will get to pay for it. Not to mention the innocent civilians around that target zone who more than likely know who fired those weapons. I'd suspect that they are a little more than ticked off.
By they way, I love that new braclet to replace the old school flag pins. For the right wingers and Republicans, I have an idea for them that will really show their patriotism. They can have a t-shirt that reads:
"I kiss Bush's ass and I'm proud of it!"
Whatever happened to NPR? Did Busholini insist on a new editorial position that was staffed with a Rovian acolyte?
I am SO UPSET that the "Iraq Today" link doesn't get me to the article. You mean to say Bush has admitted to why he invaded Iraq?! This I wish to SEE and I need to show it to a loved one of mine who is young and still doesn't believe it--he thinks it is a "possibility" but just "a theory" not a FACT. And there are other people, BAD people, I want to be able to show.
A soldier I know told me he doesn't think "United States" is "ever leaving" Iraq, like EVER EVER, because of "all the stuff being brought into the country" that spells PERMANENT and FOREVER. Massive shipments of "things" and vast complexes going up, and of course, all those security contractors (wink). Iraq is the 51st state, and the Iraqis are about to find out what it feels like to be Native American, which might actually be a step up from where BUSHCO has them right now. Yeee-ha.
The soldier is young and does not realize what I will think of what he said. He's just a kid. Not even old enough for his frontal lobe to be completely developed. (I.e., under 23.)
By the way, I'm just curious but is there a rank structure for the war supporters? I mean, do they operate in secret like the Freemasons do? If so then I'd bet Hannity and O'Reilly have to each be at least a 10th degree brown noser. Ann Coulter and Limbaugh might be lower ranking. Maybe a 8th to 9th degree would be my guess.
