Mancrushes
By John Amato Thursday Mar 06, 2008 12:40pmBrian Williams: You know what I thought was unsaid ---they took their position Chris, we're seeing the replay --- they end up in this spot and the sun is coming is just from the side and there in the shadow is John McCain's buckled, concave shoulder. It's a part of his body the suit doesn't fill out because of his war injuries. Again you wouldn't spot it unless you knew to look for it. He doesn't give the same full chested profile as the president standing next to him. Talk about a warrior...

Brian Williams is the guy from whom "Broadcast News" was made.
So is Dan Rather, although as it turns out Brian is a much better fit.
I think I'm gonna be ill.
Brian Williams Listens to Rush Limpbaugh as well....
This is so crazy. In 2000, the MSM was spewing all the negative crap that Rove and Bush wre putting out about McCain and his character. MSM was the mouthpiece for the Bush Adminstration. Now, here they are kotowing to McCain while endlessly going on about the Democrats. McCain waits on the sidelines While the MSM piles on the Obama-Hillary crap.
And so it begins...with the Media AGAIN annointing WHO they think should be our next President....and yet the VETS never get such Coverage or are spoken of in such terms....Maybe I should invite Brian to Cleveland and introduce him to the Homeless VETS with PTSD I know...I doubt he would be SO poetic...
Did anyone ever think the mccan't has that crumpled concave shoulder from too many mancrushes?
Has mccan-can been taken.
?
That shit could been the first paragraph in one of the "letters" section in Playgirl.
You ever notice how Brian Williams' face is crooked? His nose is off-center, kind of skewed off to the right side (no pun).
Probably the result of a tragic sphincter collision.
More from Digby:
Tell that to McCain's first wife. And why is Williams so quick to glorify the service of McCain? Did he ever say of John Kerry, or Max Cleland, or Wes Clark, "Talk about a warrior..."
Get your free Pocket BARACK-itizer here.
I wonder if Williams wore a Bush/Cheney campaign button under his lapel like Tim Russert did.
MSNBC is GE. General Electric has sold philosophical and bottom line reasons to prefer a republican over a democrat anytime, and you can definitely expect the Vatican wing of the network to work diligently toward that end.
Injured in a war that never should have happened.
And this is what America calls a News Anchor - we have been sooooo screwed by corporate media. Is everyone dumb enough yet? This needs to be a priority for the next president because, as we are seeing, America will not survive without a free and fair press.
McCain made a backroom deal with Bush and Cheney. He will not punish them for illegal acts and in return Bush and Cheney will help McCain get into the WH.
If as he said, the deformity was not noticeable unless one knew he had it, why does the jerk bring it up. Along these line, did you ever notice the pic of McBush that MSNBC uses on primary election night? It's so old I think it must have been from his Bar Mitzvah.
"It’s a part of his body the suit doesn’t fill out because of his war injuries. Again you wouldn’t spot it unless you knew to look for it."
Umm, how does Brian know what McCain's body looks like under his clothes? Maybe most people wouldn't notice because most people don't know it's there.
"....John McCain’s buckled, concave shoulder. It’s a part of his body the suit doesn’t fill out because of his war injuries."
That's nothing. You should see the injuries McCain inflicted on the Vietnamese -- particularly the women and children -- from 5,000 feet.
Talk about a warrior!

I hate to say it, but homosexuality and pedophilia are not uncommon among the ruling elite in this country. I have no problem with homosexuality. I think people are born like that. But I don't like hypocrisy and abuse of power!!!

Eeeeeeeew!
Matthews and Williams are just putting out propaganda and that is all this is. Just more propaganda to prop up McCain in the eyes of the public. This is the same crap all politicians around the world pull. Politicians are not the person we see. They are made to fit a specific profile that the politician wants to present. For example, George W. Bush was always photographed with a light directly behind his head. That gives the religious people that support him, subconsciously, the indication that Bush is some how Divine. Its makes no difference if Bush believed it himself or not. The goal in doing this is to make the public think that he was.
They, like everyone else except for McCain himself knows nothing about what McCain's service record or his years of confinement in Hanoi were. For all we know, McCain could have become a "turncoat" for a time in order to save his own skin but we will never hear that from Williams or Matthews.
Even their use of McCain's apparent ill fitting suit is used to propel this "warrior" image forward to the public. They automatically make the assumption that his shoulder anomaly was some how a result of his injuries received in Vietnam when in reality something else probably happened to him. For all we know, McCain's shoulder injury occurred due to a fall an old high school football injury.
Are they trying to make McCain appealing to the closet cases out there?
In the meantime we have idiots like Fathead Limbaugh kvetching about Hillary growing old in front of the American people (a perfectly nice looking woman, imo-btw-fyi). Criminy, if I had a microphone at my disposal I might be tempted to talk about how McCain just plain gives me the creeps. That weird, slowww smile he gets when he says something particularly war-mongerish or violent...brrrr.....
Goodness. McManlyMan is attracting himself some male news anchors. So McWarrior's body is a shell.....so is his g-damn head....maybe he should be in one of those great vet hospitals instead of running for retired senile Prez of the US.
What the Republicans have done in their nominating process is actually pretty clever. Whether or not you agree with him, McCain is the most likable of their candidates this year. That does count for a lot, especially when you consider how high Hillary Clinton's negatives are -over half the country can't stand her, myself included.
Then, probably with some tips from Karl Rove, they likely leaked the story about McCain being in bed with the lobbyist good and early, knowing it was about all the dirt anyone was going to dig up on McCain, and they even were able to spin it in a way that made the NYT look less favorable than McCain. Remember Rathergate?
This is important because in a head to head match-up with Clinton, the one with less dirt is the one that's going to win. Remember, these two are so close on policy, and both are bought and paid for by corporate America, that there won't be that big a difference between them. Remember also, Mark Penn's firm works for both of them.
Now, the Clinton campaign is desperately trying to persuade voters Obama's not as clean as she is, because their campaign will do anything for power.
Don't be fooled, the Republicans are laying off Clinton right now, because they know they can beat her. Not because she's a woman, because she's a Clinton. Nothing will rally Republicans like the mission to keep Bill out of the Oval Office. And nothing will turn off Democrats like being forced to choose between two corporate-chosen candidates who voted for the war in Iraq. I myself will not vote for Hillary under any circumstances, I'll vote independent.
But the important thing here is that there's just so much dirt on the Clintons. With the internet, more Democrats like me who gave them a pass (and even defended them) in the 90's will be taking a closer look. Even if you don't think there's anything shady about Whitewater, the drug-smuggling rumors regarding Mena, Arkansas, or Vince Foster's bizarre death, the internet is already facilitating widespread distribution of evidence corporate media wouldn't go near in the 90's, and a lot of folks will be taking a much, much closer look at the evidence. And that's just the "underground" stuff.
In a match-up between McCain and Clinton, you're going to hear a lot more about the stuff Team Obama has thus far (but hopefully not much longer) held off on. For example:
Why won't Clinton release her tax return?
The Norman Hsu scandal
Who has donated to the Clinton library?
Why are the Clinton presidential records being suppressed?
Why is Hillary concealing her college thesis?
Considering Bill Clinton's record-breaking number of pardons, how can Hillary be taken seriously when she claims she'll clean up Washington?
and, yes... Who all has Bill cheated on her with AFTER Monicagate?
All will be fair questions, and folks like me who no longer trust the Clintons on any level won't be rushing to defend them anymore.
Please, Democrats, don't hand the presidency to McCain by entertaining Hillary Clinton's delusions of grandeur. We've got to get this right.

Vietnam Veterans Against McCain
There's that liberal media bias again.
C Quil @ 22:
Agreed.
"Let me see your scars John"
DC @ 16:
Yes! They'll do all of his dirty work . It's gonna be nasty this fall.
..so the wounds must make it hard for McCain to reach the phone at 3 am?

"Now, when he warns against what he calls the "tar baby" of Bosnia, the temptation is overwhelming to conclude that he is reliving the frustration of Vietnam.
Mr. McCain insists, a little wearily, that it isn't so. He says the 23 combat missions, the mid-air ejection that left him with two broken legs and a broken arm, the beatings by North Vietnamese guards, the solitary confinement, the efforts at resistance -- heroic, by some accounts -- are a closed chapter in his life."
Saint Jack @ 27:
No you won't. Hillary and "Heeeeeeeeere's Johnny" are family friends, just like the Clintons and the Bushies. Corporate America won't care which one of them is Prez....but damn.....Obama is popular, and the people seem to love him...better nip that one in the bud right away.
This should be an interesting election. It will either be: John McCain ( tread easy,he's a maimed vet)
vs
Barack Obama (tread easy,he's African American)
or
Hillary Clinton (knock yourselves out, she's both a Clinton and a bitchy woman)
There is a word for people who would joke about a persons war injuries no less ones recieved as a POW. I am not a Mc Cain supporter in any way, shape or form .That goes for Clinton as well.
"Let me see your scarsJohn"
What a TOOL.
Just rereading that post brought a song to my head........the Love Boat, soon we will be making our final run...the Love Boat..........
Well, to be fair...McCain's scars are an improvement over GWB's scarred psyche.
Hussein AND Proud @ 39:
McWarrior and Hillary seem to have more personalities than a nutcase in a Hollyweird movie.....should they not be on meds? I'm sure THEIR insurance coverage would pay for it.
I don't trust any man who isn't in love with Barack Obama and strives to be in his good graces. That man is GORGEOUS! And probably a helluva lot more fun on a date.
Oh gross!!!!
The notion that a used up flip-flopper like McCain has a chance to be prez was just amazing and ridiculous only a few months ago. But Hillary going "scorched earth" ("McCain would be a better president than Barack") doesn't help matters. Once again: Thanks, Hill, for forgetting to act like an adult. True, you acted in the best interests of your OWN political career, but I see them as the same thing.
WHY did I vote for her?
“He doesn’t give the same full chested profile as the president standing next to him.”
Of course not, dufus. McCain isn’t wearing a bullet proof vest. Geebus, these people are dumb and blind.
Shrillery is being a petulant child...and please...don't all the females start jumping on me...I'd be saying the same thing if she were a man.
Her attitude now is..."If I'm not the nominee...I'm just gonna fuck it up for everyone. So there. Screw you guuuuys...I'm goin' hommmme".
Luckily for the media, the elderly fool is naturally buckled over. They'll have an easy time slipping right in.
I just puked.
I have mancrushes all the time-oh wait...
Soon we will see "Bri" Williams with a BLUE DRESS ON when he does his nightly news propaganda for General Electric. General Electric should not be allowed to own any media at all. All's they hire are repiglicans who sell their souls to be among the 'media elite'. Just look at the corporate hemmroids that work for them: the stinking farts called Matthews, Russert, Gregory, Mitchall and all the rest of these hemmroids that no longer have souls. In their place is simply a rancid abscess full of the puss of evil itself.
As president of MSNBC's "He-Man Woman Haters Club” I’m a man’s man. I like other men’s men.
When I see Fred Thompson I feel this thrill going up my leg.
There's a sex appeal for this guy, this sort of mature, older man, you know? . . .
Can you smell the English leather on this guy, the Aqua Velva, the sort of mature man's shaving cream, or whatever, you know, after he shaved?
Do you smell that sort of--a little bit of cigar smoke?
I wonder if he shaves his ball sack? That's hot!
Timmy @ 36:
I disagree. I think all 3 candidates will be thoroughly vetted by November.
I also disagree that Hillary's getting unfair treatment because she's a woman. That's the ONLY thing she has going for her.
Wuv...Twuuuu wuv!
And the media's loathing of Clinton really isn't a mark in her favor (as far as electability is concerned, anyway). No matter how misogynistic her coverage has been.
so the chip that McPain carries on his shoulder is actually Brian Williams....
Well, I noticed McCain's posture, too, and realized why he can't stand up as straight as that dancing chickenhawk moron now "Commander-in-Chief".
Is it now politically incorrect to give the devil his due?
How many POW's discuss thier Vietnam experience? None, except on a very private basis.....The real "warriors" keep their mouth shut. Why does McCain get all the praise as a "hero"...There were hundreds that went through the same thing...they don't use it to enhance thier career! He loves to "insert" his war experience in any conversation that is had and then acts modest after they bring it up. What an actor!!! It seems his main injury was from parachuting out of a plane...He seemed to get some special treatment in the Vietnam camps because of who his father was.

Keep McPileing on C&L'ers! The current McList numbers 495 and the entire list and/or links will be posted on McDamnthisisgettingtobeareallllyfuckinglonglistalmostlikeafulltimejob and/or Open threads Fridays and Tuesdays, and the previous day’s contributions the rest of the week, John permitting.
“Shorter lists are funnier” generally holds true, and very well may re the McList. C&L’ers are diverse and eclectic, and I’ve enjoyed many lols, LOLs, LOL!s and Ha ha’s here. I’m reluctant to exclude any McEntry, ’cause they’re all funny/pointed/cathartic to varying degrees, and the sheer length of the entire list has a humorous quality of its own.
We are also generating denigrating McMemes, some of which may be useful, in a memie sort of way. The thuglicontards are very aware of the usefulness of denigrating memes, and it won’t hurt to put out a few of our own.
That being said, a Top 11, Dirty Dozen, etc. are considerations, for those (myself included, usually) who like things condensed to essentials.
Will update at my convenience or tolerable inconvenience on pertinent threads.

What about McCompromised, buckled, concave, shadowy ethics?
Why don't we call a spade a spade? Matthews is gay. He loves powerful men, regardless of party. He giggles a lot when powerful men are mentioned. He's a closet queen, without any question.
There's nothing wrong with being gay. There's also nothing wrong with not being gay. But there's an awful lot wrong with Matthews and his program, to wit:
1) He takes opposite sides of the same issue on successive days, to create controversy.
2) He protects certain male politicians he's secretly in love with.
3) He interrupts guests in the middle of their answers, and asks a new question.
4) His hair is phony blond. Most people don't know it, but Matthews is in his mid-50s.
5) He uses commercial breaks to control the direction of comments on his program.
"the 23 combat missions, the mid-air ejection that left him with two broken legs and a broken arm, the beatings by North Vietnamese guards, the solitary confinement, the efforts at resistance — heroic, by some accounts — are a closed chapter in his life.”
So... where's the GOP with the little Purple Heart band-aids to mock McCain's injuries? I mean, he ejected from the plane, didn't he? That makes his wounds mostly self-inflicted... I mean, come on people! McCain didn't really EARN his medals...
Robert Lockwood Mills @ 58:
I agree with everything, except that most people DO know he's in his mid-50's and bleaches his hair.
I think I once read his shade of blond is how he picked up the name "Tweety". Big, round, blond head, just like the Looney Tunes character.
We really need a definitive Matthews mancrush montage.
Is it possible that the dumbest fucks in the world comment on this site? Maybe I should make up some phony web name to hide behind..It is all a matter of simple respect. The same respect you would want for yourself,
