Of course they didn't do nothing Cliff. In order to make money you need to have a Bogeyman.

This is what people do when they know they are incompetent and should never have been in the position they were in the first place. Note to Douglas Feith: Don't hang around the troops. Something bad will more than likely happen to ya.

Ex-Defense Official Assails Colleagues Over Run-Up to War

"Although he acknowledges "serious errors" in intelligence, policy and operational plans surrounding the invasion, Feith blames them on others outside the Pentagon and notes that "even the best planning" cannot avoid all problems in wartime. While he says the decision to invade was correct, he judges that the task of creating a viable and stable Iraqi government was poorly executed and remains "grimly incomplete."

IMO, the Stiglitz clip is a should-view and should-consider.

He predicts, among other things, tax increases to pay for the Iraq war.

With the economy headed into the dumpster, however, raising taxes, even on the top 2-percent of income earners, is going to be a hard sell to the American people and will play especially badly in certain quarters (e.g., the financial and real estate markets).

The Bush income tax cuts were unnecessary and wrong, but reversing them in a flagging economy is going to be hard.

IMO, this tends to make for advantage McCain.

In reading my blog, you may have run across frequent use of terms like "capitalism with American characteristics," "capitalism as Great White Father" and "'morally superior' United States" in the several essays.

Find out for yourself what motivates my use thereof, and the inspirations therefor.

[Deleted. Mike may post what he likes. If you know the policy then abide by it. It's the conspiracy theories that we don't want posted here. Saying the government knew about it beforehand has been proven; not exactly a theory. If you have a complaint, drop us an email-Sitmonitor]

Anybody care to guess why the NRCC were paying individual FEC named donors $500 in 2004 !

RNCC $500 payments

FEC list for one person 7/7/04 paid $500 in to the RNCC, 7/11/04 the RNCC paid the money back to them !
theres a whole load of $500s being paid to named people in this list.

FEC sourced record

Am I missing something obvious and not illegal here?
Why would somebody donate $500 to a PAC then have their money refunded 4 days later, theres multiple names of individuals on the records there with this happening, one of the random names I checked did this with $5000 being paid to them after they had donated $5000 to the Rs.
Is this part of so money laundering scheme !

Thanks for the link Mike!

All: His price as of today is 20 bucks.

And if you check out expenditures for 'Christopher L Ward' or 'Ward' (separate categorys ?) the NRCC treasurer being investigated by the FBI, he was paying himself aprox $3000 to $3900 per fortnight salary etc! but his lats recorded payment to himself suddenly jumped to $8000 in 2008.
And his payments always went up in the run up to xmas, nice to set your own bonuses for xmas.
Seems the NRCC didnt do any auditing of their accounts for 5 years leading up to the mess they are in now.
Foley buddy and coveruper Tom Reynolds has some explaining to do.

no audits

The article referenced at Cliff Schecter's site is about incompetence within the Bush administration and is fact checked. There is no debate as to the veracity of the facts contained therein.
If Crooks and Liars does not want to open up its comments to the varied theories (and they are all theories) on the collapse of the WTC, that is their privelige. There are plenty of sites to debate this.
My biggest issue with the 9-11 attacks is the fact that they were allowed to occur in the first place, and the massive coverup of the many failures, intentional or incompetent, that followed. That is where the smoking guns will be found.

President PNACcio Says @ 17 :

follow the money , there's always a nice steaming paper trail for Republican corruption.
They do everything for money, or that's how they motivate the 99%ers.
The NRCC scandal with the $500s and -$500s (4 days later) on the FEC records a nice smoking gun to something.

Tweety Matthews may feel something crawling up or down his leg when he thinks about Obama.
But when Hillary Clinton patted him on the cheek, he looked like he was trying to stop himself from having an orgasm.

Tweety doth protest much too much, methinks.

I think it's great Mike can post what he likes, i just think it's really really odd and unnatural that others can't respond as they like. But hey, if you can live with that, I think that is really really interesting, perhaps even worthy of a Lewis Lapham essay.
