This is pretty surprising.
Gov. Eliot Spitzer has informed his most senior administration officials that he had been involved in a prostitution ring, an administration official said this morning.
Mr. Spitzer, who was huddled with his top aides early this afternoon, had hours earlier abruptly canceled his scheduled public events for the day. He is set to make an announcement about 2:15 this afternoon at his Manhattan office.

Considering that he was a DA famous for prosecuting prostitution ring cases, this story may have some implications that haven't been made public yet.
Just like in Guilliani's case where he made a reputation fighting organized crime while at the same time, he seems to have been in bed with organized crime.
I hate to think that prosecutors use their office to eliminate competition, for a criminal organization that they work for, but we know it happens.
