“Gold dive pulls everything down: Dollar, commodities from corn to crude descend as fear of U.S. slowdown sparks a sell-off.”
Phirst.
Dammit.
Vice President Dick Cheney is again talking about possible US military action to shut down Iran’s nuclear program, the Israeli website DEBKA quoted the aide as saying.
The official added Cheney had told US troops in a military base in Iraq that “Iran has got to be very high on that list (of the countries that might be attacked)”.
The remarks came ahead of the talks Cheney was to hold during his 10-day tour of the Middle East, which began Monday, March 17 in Iraq.
i saw hightower speak in DC not too long ago, good stuff. he was excellent.
the notion that the “free” market ideologues and wall street know what the fuck they are talking about never fails to amaze.
the “free” market always gravitates towards dishonesty, corruption, and monopolies. and, when in trouble, the “free” market always demands *holds out grabby hand* money from the government. while, at the same time sputtering and spewing about govt interference. anyone who still believes that the “free” market is god’s gift to humanity… well, i have some bear stearns stock to sell ya.

Someone quick, tell dick cheney that wars cost money and we don’t have any.
L.A. Confidential @ 4:
did he make those comments from the back of the sultan of oman’s mega-yacht?
Right wing bloggers are only able to admit they’re ‘right’ you see. McCain will have to get their vote in the same way. Right.

Wouldn’t surprise me. Who’s going to stop him?
off topic, but…. the ads running at the top of the page would look so much better if CL made the header background BLACK. anyone?

L.A. Confidential @ 9:
Jeeezus! Is cheney hell-bent on destroying this country or what? Does he even comprehend the magnitude of attacking Iran? Does he realize how thinly our military is spread out?
I’m thinking yes, he understands all of that…maybe by keeping our military tied up in unjust wars, there won’t be anyone to stop blackwater when they come rollin down Main St….
The American Idiot Indeed…
The Presidency of George W. Simpson … I get this comment often, the US is looking more and more like the Simpsons in the last 6 years.
His Legacy?

Hell, a good ol’ fashioned street fight would suit me fine…GAH! What an ignorant, ignorant man.
That Coulter spin on the Gettysburg Address is pure genius.
just testing my login
Samson- @ 5:
You say that the free market is demanding handouts from the government…but that makes it so that its NOT a free market anymore so how does that make sense?(Unless the reason you put “free” in quotes is because you’re being sarcastic about the idea that we actually live in a free market- which we don’t) Our government in recent times has done MORE intervention not more free market. What happened with bear stearns when it was bought by JP morgan and debts guaranteed by the fed was obviously government intervention using a corporate agent.
pissed off patricia @ 6:
That doesn’t matter to him. All that matters is that our grandchildren will have some.
Rusty Keating Five Shackleford @ 21:
To pay for his wars, I mean.
Here’s a good political debate:
