Scooter Libby Has Been Disbarred
I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby Jr., the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, has been disbarred.
In an order released by the D.C. Court of Appeals, a three-judge panel stripped Libby of his ability to practice law after he was found guilty last year of obstructing the investigation in the CIA leak investigation.
"When a member of the Bar is convicted of an offense involving moral turpitude, disbarment is mandatory," reads the ruling, citing D.C. Code. Read on...
Luckily for old Scooter, he won't need a license to practice law to make the six or seven figure salary he's sure to procure in the near future. Wingnut welfare will see to it that he can maintain the lifestyle he enjoyed before he committed treason against his country and then lied to the feds.

Should be in jail. Like being disbarred will stop him from making money. Isn't Bill Clinton disbarred? And now makes more than he ever did.

why does not anyone point out the fact that scooter was the chief architect of clinton's pardon for marc rich and he worked for the fugitive financier for 10 years before dick tapped him to run the vp's office? marc rich, unworthy of a pardon, yet his right hand man is worthy of a pardon? from the president who wanted to prosecute clinton for pardoning libby's former boss?

My comment has nothing to do with this particular issue. However I was watching Richardsons endorsement of Obama. As I'm prone to do I was flipping (much to wifes chagrin) from one news channel to another when I noticed something unusual. As I flipped from MSNBC to CNN and lord forgive me to FNC I noticed a difference in Obams skin tone. It was much darker on FNC than the other two. I called 3 friends to see if they noticed the same thing and they all concurred. My wife said it appeared Faux News was using a gold filter to darken the color. Anyway I know that FNC wouldn't do such a thing simpily to make their veiwers scared of the dark negro

You're right. Not even close. And because of how Bush changed the laws governing presidential (and vice-presidential) records, nobody will be able to subpoena evidence unless they have probable cause. But probable cause for specific criminal acts is almost impossible to get, because this is the most secretive administration in history and the records are effectively sealed. Catch 22.
Going after Bush for impeachable crimes after 2008 is pointless. The time to go after crooks in the WH is while they are in office. Otherwise what is the point of congressional oversight and an independent judiciary when a rogue administration is in power?

After Chimpy grants Scooter a full Pardon, I believe his law license can be reinstated. So far, Scooter just got a Sentence Commutation -- i.e. a get-out-of-jail pass. But I figure Scooter's chance for a full Pardon, on the Chimster's last day of office, is about 100% likely. A full Pardon makes it "as if the crime never happened at all" ...

Why all the barbs aimed at the fall-guy? Why don't you concentrate your anger at the real criminals in this case (Cheney, Rove, Bush)? Libby is a bit part in this crime!

If Libby was convicted of obstructing justice and the courts concur, why isn't Libby in jail? I know, Bush pardoned him but shouldn't that be illegal too? And why aren't Cheney, Rove and Bush in jail? It boggles the mind. The Republican party is the "favored" party it seems. See all evil, do all evil, belong to the devil.
Meh, could be better - like if he was starting a prison term today. But good new anyhow. Good enough for me to celebrate with a glass of great Bavarian wine.

Think what you might, that is a huge slap in the face for "Scooter" (which he rightly deserves). To be disbarred is to negate your life's work and have your colleagues turn their backs on you. Ouch. Sure he can earn a lot of money, but...

For obstruction of justice and perjury having to do with the outing of a CIA Noc agent that undermined U.S. National Security. Libby is commuted and disbarred. Ouch!
Hell there are thousands of people in prison for robbing a corner gas station.
