Sunday Morning Bobblehead Thread

Happy Easter to all. Easter in my house is the more secular bunny-hiding-eggs version and as you read this, I will probably be trying to convince my kids to let us sleep just a little bit more before we look to see what treats the Easter Bunny has brought.

The morning news shows reflect a similar inclination towards the sleepy. Gov. Richardson braves the No Dem Zone to go on Fox News Sunday and John McCain's travel buddy, Sen. Lindsay Graham will go on Face the Nation, armed with the talking points to try to convince us that McSame really does understand the "Islamic" threat, even if he doesn't understand the Islamic sects.

ABC's "This Week" - Sens. Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., and Chuck Hagel, R-Neb.

CBS' "Face the Nation" - Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Jack Reed, D-R.I.

NBC's "Meet the Press" - Journalists round table.

CNN's "Late Edition" - Sens. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., Ron Wyden, D-Ore., and Evan Bayh, D-Ind.; Iraqi national security adviser Mowaffak al-Rubaie; Gov. Janet Napolitano, D-Ariz.; Grover Norquist, president of Americans for Tax Reform; Laura Tyson, former economic adviser to President Clinton.

"Fox News Sunday" - Govs. Bill Richardson, D-N.M., and Ed Rendell, D-Pa.; former Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers; Glenn Hubbard, former chairman of the president's Council of Economic Advisers; Eli Manning, New York Giants quarterback and member of the President's Council on Physical Fitness and Sports.

"The Chris Matthews Show" -Panel: Clarence Page, Elisabeth Bumiller, Norah O'Donnell and John Heileman. Topics: Will the debate over race hurt Obama in the general election? Is McCain smart to focus on national security this fall? Meter Questions: Will the Rev. Wright controversy cause superdelegates to abandon Obama and give Hillary the nomination? YES: 1 NO: 11 If Obama is the nominee, will he be defined by race in the general election? YES: 2 No: 10

John McCain famously said that Ronald Reagen was the only President who could hide his own Easter Eggs. Funny...but will the MSM roll that one out today?

There are no Easter Bunnies in Thailand, unless they are brought in ... and then they are served with peanut sauce.

Haha ... he's already had the equivalent endorsements of Hagee and Falwell, which in my mind are the National Enquirer of Religion.

I like when Obama speaks to me as an adult.....then tell me you are an Arab-American not an African-American. Like an adult. I think I can take it.

Kenya is in Africa.

One question jumps to mind ... How come all these Floods, tornado's, hurricanes and all that shit just happens to hit right in the bible belt? I mean ... If Falwell and Hagee and Robertson and all the other "ministers of the lord" were right, shouldn't it be San Francisco or Berkeley or maybe Seattle getting hit with all this weather?

Or ... Maybe there really is a guy in the sky and he just doesn't like all the homophobic bigoted rant-and-ravers talking on his behest?

What is catching my eye this morning is actually what transpired last weekend and what we could see in the weeks ahead.   What I am talking about is the Federal Reserve's engineered JP Morgan take over of Bear Stearns early Monday morning.  I was pondering as to why the Fed would be so concerned (especially in the wee hours) and take such drastic measures (I.E. cut the discount rate, and allow worthless mortgage debt as collateral) about an investment bank like Bear Stearns.  Then it hit me.  With all of that worthless mortgage debt and with many investors pulling out their funds, Bear Stearns was essentially insolvent.  They were trying to prevent a bank run.

Now I hear that the Federal Reserve and the Bank of England are getting together to hatch a plan to have the taxpayers pay off that worthless mortgage debt that the Federal Reserve now owns.

I don't support any factory farms. In fact, a good way to start to put a dent in factory farms is to put an end to "All You Can Eat" buffets. I love meat, but even I know that moderation is the key...*do I hear a flamethrower igniting...?*

Well when are we going to hear more about Sean Hannity and Hal Turner connection, after all it was Hal Turner book that Tim McVay use as a blue print to kill American men, women and children.

"In English, the etymology of the word "Easter" comes from an ancient pagan goddess of the spring named Eostre, related to German Ostara. According to popular folklore, Eostre once saved a bird whose wings had frozen during the winter by turning it into a rabbit. Because the rabbit had once been a bird, it could still lay eggs, and that rabbit became the modern Easter Bunny"

Unfortunately, I think you are correct. If the Federal Reserve and BOE can not convince their respective Governments to raise taxes or barrow the money needed to pay off those worthless mortgage debts then the only other option is to inflate it away. To do this though, the Federal Reserve and BOE will need an excuse to expand the money supply and a new war is the perfect excuse.  Plus it will keep the populace occupied while they are getting fleeced.  Germany during WW II used war as a way to cover their crooked monetary policies as well.  The Argentina dictatorship used the same method.

hmmmm .... sounds biblical

And on the third day, the Easter Bunny (Or E.B. as he is called) had arisen from his tomb with the uncanny ability to squeeze chocolate eggs out of his sphincter. And Gawd looked down and saw that it was good. And what became of Elmer Fuddstein, the notorious trigger man on the grassy knoll? He was severely punished by Gawd, and forced to become a member of the Republican Party for all eternity.

These buffets may allow people to scale up excessively, but don't they also allow them to scale down by not ordering any more food than they want? At a typical restaurant, there's a fixed portion size, and if the customer doesn't finish it, there's a good chance they'll wind up throwing it away. Which is wasteful.

I just posted some of my thoughts about Easter at my blog. To me, the notion of a Jewish zombie as the savior of so many right-wing hateful Christians is almost comical. Almost.

Great, I need a good chuckle tonight.

AZ Sen. Kyl says "Don't blame the Bush Administration" for the housing debacle. No, it's the Dems fault for wanting to get everyone into homeownership. What a piece of crap.

I'm more concerned with fervor these people have for using the race wedge on the democratic party. I'm glad I live in such a high minded society, it truly warms the heart.

Good point...However, Buffets encourge the average consumers to "get their money's worth" and gorge themselves into obesity. I notice many restaurants also offer huge portions at reasonable prices ( in lieu of buffets) as a way to curry favor with the clientele who wish for a big slab o' meat to justify the cost of the meal...nevermind that this meat is full of hormones and antibiotics and other chemicals to make the muscles huge and yeild more product...nevermind that said hormones cause children to physically mature earlier and earlier...nevermind that all these chemicals used to yield a hefty slab o' meat leads to severe physical ailments years down the road.

On the other end, genetically modified veggies (which won't grow without the "secret ingrdient" supplied by the manufacturers [for an added fee]) are another big problem... however, I'll let someone with better knowledge than i run with that subject.

Factory farming of both Veggies and Animals needs to be stopped.

Easter Sunday or not it hasn't stopped these BOBBLEHEADED FOOLS from continuing to spew their crapola on the 24/7 news cycles...just days ago it was all about Hillary is DEAD IN THE WATER and should just pack up and go away...now the discussion is about what IF she should begin to gain momentum and how will that work out for their chosen guy (OBAMA or McCain depending on who you're listening to?)...they just keep making this up as they go along...listening to one another...love how they've totally misrepresented Bill's remarks (watch the clip/read all of the comments he made) to ASSUME (member what that means) he's slamming Obama just because that's what Clintons do and take off on the reaction of the nutcase in Obama's camp (without, of course, saying he's a nutcase)...YES I'M SCREAMING AND TEARING MY HAIR OUT...these idiots affect public opinion because people would rather react than read and think for themselves and they love thinking these TV personalities know something they don't and should be the determiners of what they believe and direct their actions...MY GOD no wonder we're screwed!!!!!!!!!!

Did you see Peggy Noonan on MTP this a.m.?

First she said she was not sure Obama had not been unduly influenced by Rev. Wright's "radical" preaching ... although she noted the audience behind the reverend in the YouTube videos appeared pretty much unmoved ... Peggy just is not sure about Obama and his wife.

When asked to comment on Bill Richardson's endorsement of Obama, Noonan immediately lead with the comment that Richardson's beard made him look like the sexually preverted villian, played by Rod Stiger, in the movie Dr. Zhivago . So far, according to Noonan, the Black guy could be lying about not being a radical and the Hispanic guy looks a movie pervert. Sounds like one of the girls at the club doesn't she?

The terribly troubled WSJ reporter summed up her sad appearance by turning recent polling and primary history on it's head by saying Obama's black supporters would not support a Hillary nomination, but the good white people of Hillary's campaign would back an Obama nomination.

This is one seriously disturbed lady. She would have made a good speech writer for the Gipper. Snark.

Being black (negro) and being muslim are two different things. One is genetic the other is choice.

Kyl is a moron, pure and simple.
I still never hear of what really caused the foreclosures, or rather the final nail in the coffin.

Rise and Decline in housing prices was not the problem. Those are in play only when you sell the house.

No down-payment mortgages also was not the problem because they set up payments that the new owner probably could afford, with some exceptions.

The nail in the coffin was when the Fed rate got screwed up from 1% (prime-rate 4%) to 4.25% (prime rate 7.25%). The mortgage payments more than doubled. That's what killed the new owners.

All this because the Feds foresaw inflation, so they kept raising interest rates, which in turn hurts the borrowers - as we saw - and benefit the savers. In other words you can say that money from the poor (borrowers) was given to the rich (savers).

Nobody has said so much - except me. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so. My interest rate dropped to its lowest ever in July 2004, but more than doubled by July 2006, but I didn't buy my house in 2004 or 2005 as those who got caught.

Fox reprised the "Obama clock" I mentioned last week, counting the days since he last told a Fox reporter that he'd appear on the show.

I'd like to see a similar "clock" on the Obama website that counts the number of days he's waited for an apology from them.

I should also mention that Hume and the rest of the FnS panel (including Williams) all dismissed McCain's "Iran/alQaeda" conflagration as "a slip of the tongue" and that it was "unthinkable that someone with his experience didn't know".

Of course, McCain didn't know, that's why he repeated it three (or is it four now?) times, and the fact that at least one of those "slips" came AFTER Lieberman corrected him shows the SAME DELIBERATE ATTEMPT TO MISLEAD THE PUBLIC as when the Bush Administration repeatedly conflated Iraq/alQaeda before the invasion.

those voters who want to make Obama all about race all of the time, will do so anyway. if that's all they see about him then they're not to be reasoned with anyway. but it only says something about them and not about Obama. they are consumed or whatever about race and probably in an unhealthy way. its an uncomfortable topic but one of large importance to discuss with fellow voters and citizens. Obama rightly will not run away from this issue. and if we can't act like adults and talk about this topic now in 2008 with him as a candidate then when the heck will we ever? i think he would make a great leader and i hope we get the chance as Americans and human beings to vote for him.

Okay, "and on the third day he rose from the dead"; wouldn't that be on Monday? I hear the pope says "on the second day", what's up with that? Which is it Pope Nazi? Also, "Good Friday"? (maybe it was Thursday night?) What is good about the day the romans kill jebus? You Christians are crazy!

Kefa @ 5:

I like when Obama speaks to me as an adult.....then tell me you are an Arab-American not an African-American. Like an adult. I think I can take it.

His father comes from Kenya, which is about as African as you can get. Arabs are people from the Arabian Peninsula and a few surrounding Middle East countries.

It is true his father was born a Muslim , but most Muslims from Africa are not Arabs! In fact, I believe the majority of Muslims worldwide are not ethnically Arabs (e.g. the largest Muslim country in the world is Indonesia)

As someone replied: he is an AMERICAN! That's all I need to see, and that's what our founding fathers' vision of this country. Examining one's family roots back n generations to examine racial origins is a technique more reminiscent of Nazi Germany.

Val - You got that wrong too. No one is born a muslim or any other religion. Religions are a choice people make or are forced to make. Babies are born into a religioous family or society, baptized without any knowledge or agreement, but they do have a choice later in life. Those are conversions. In the case of Islam, they may have to leave the country since Islam does not allow muslims to opt out under penalty of death.

Governor Bill Richardson came out to finally endorse Barrack Obama. Richardson said that Obama’s' speech on race was his deciding factor. The speech showed the leadership qualities Richardson was looking for. I have to agree with Richardson, as he said that, it's time for Clinton to step down, and the Democrats to come together.

Clinton cannot beat Obama’s numbers no matter HOW they parse it. That is an undeniable fact. Clinton’s campaign knows this very well. As Nancy Pelosi (speaker of the house) said "This is a delegate race, period. If the superdelegates turn over the will of the people, it won't be good for the Democratic Party" When Clinton thought she would have it in the bag, after California. Florida and Michigan did not matter to her then. Just like Clinton dismissed the 11 state streak Obama had, because “NONE OF THOSE SATES COUNT ANYWAY”. How “disenfranchised” do those sates feel, by Clinton? What an atrocious thing to say.

Obama has two former presidential candidates backing him now. They know who has the best chance with the Republicans in Nov.

Just because Obama did not bring up the past with Clinton, do not think the republicans won't.

When the Clintons tax records, Bills' Foundation, and Library funding sources are revealed, it could destroy the party for decades. There is 1/2 BILLION dollars in funding alone to explain! If it were all kosher, it would have been known long ago. There is an ongoing fraud lawsuit in California, which the media has not been reporting as well.

There will be another time for a woman to run the Whitehouse. It's not this woman, not this time.

Another terrorist figure with connections to Obama..

Obama and the Bill Ayers connection..

From 1999 to 2002, Obama served as a Board member of the Woods Fund of Chicago. A fellow Board member was William Ayers, a University of Illinois education professor who, in the 1960s and 70s, was a leader of the domestic terrorist group Weatherman.

As the Democratic Party moved center in the 2004 campaign, Obama's website quietly removed a blistering anti-war speech he had given in 2002 and replaced it with a milder statement more in step with the party line of Senators John Kerry and John Edwards.

http://www.discoverthenetworks.org/individualProfile.asp?indid=2169

Didn't the Roman consider Jesus an enemy of the state and that's why he was tortured and killed?

I'm surprised that the Christians would resort to torturing others.

Why don't they just pray for protection from God?

Govenor Richardson is an opportunist; a friendly, congenial guy with a look out for himself. He did not have the courage to return phone calls to Bill Clinton in the last week after he made his decision. He claims to have been and be so inspired by Senator Obama; maybe he is inspired by a promise to be Vice President. My advise is for him to look for more inspiration from AA.

First, following this bad chain of logic, all of the board members of the Wood fund are to be viewed with contempt here is the current list:
Laura S. Washington, Board Chair*
Ida B. Wells-Barnett University Professor and Fellow of the DePaul Humanities Center

Jesus G. Garcia, Vice Chair*
Executive Director, Little Village Community Development Corporation

William C. Ayers
Distinguished Professor of Education, University of Illinois at Chicago

Lee Bey
Director of Media and Governmental Affairs, Skidmore, Owings, & Merrill LLP

Doris Salomon Chagin
Category Manager - Ethnic Markets, BP Products North America

Beth E. Richie
Professor and Head of the Department of African American Studies, University of Illinois at Chicago

Patrick M. Sheahan
Executive Director, Public Affairs, UBS Investment Bank

Charles N. Wheatley
President, Sahara Enterprises, Inc.

Lucia Woods Lindley

so "take your money out of UBS because of its terrorist ties"
Fox tried this lie already....just say aint it...
