Number of individuals on the FBI's "Terrorist Watch List" as of 11:48 Pacific Time this morning. According to the ACLU, the watch list includes fourteen 9/11 hijackers who are known to be dead.

Would be a more correct read.
And the number? Last fall when I tried to fly to visit my daughter, the list was 735,000 and I was on it. Where do you suppose they found those other 100,000 other names?
"the watch list includes fourteen 9/11 hijackers who are known to be dead"
How the hell do they know that?
So the other five aren't on the list or are known to be not dead?
How many of us are on it?

I think that counter is a good indication of just how despised the Bush regime is becoming. The higher that "terrorist" watch list count goes the more you see people speaking out against the Bush regime. After all, the Government can classify anyone as a "terrorist" even if they do not meet the the definition for which that name actually applies.

Two days ago I watched a BBC program featured in my language, state this because I can't seem to find it anywhere on the BBC homepage.
If you can get past the narration and texting in a foreign language, here it is.
------------------------------------
It was about how isolation in a confined, dark room (basicly lack of stimulation) affects our brains in various ways. Particulary interesting is how quickly we lose our own confidence in what our beliefs are and this is an isolation that only lasted for 2 days.
Before the isolation every subject were confronted with various tasks, testing the memory and how well our comprehension worked. Everyone did fine.
After the isolation the subjects were confronted with the same tasks and did terribly or ok. Worst did one guy who was very social and talkative, stand-up comedian actually.
About the loss of confidence: The task was to listen to a story and then answer various questions about it. The questioneer threw in misinformation everywhere and the subjects , previous to isolation, quickly pointed out that they did not recall that information or corrected it.
After the isolation the men in this study seem to have lost most of their confidence in what they thought to be correct answers to the questions about the story they were told.
The women did rather well, so congrats to the 'weaker' sex!
The documentary also featured a falsely convicted murder suspect that had been basicly isolated for 18 years, he can not function properly in the real world. If anyone choose to watch this and recognize him, please inform me of his name/case so I can see if he got any retribution for his inhumane treatment.
--------------------------------------
Why did I post this?
Well, if 48 hours of isolation makes you doubt your mind...what do you think years of isolation will do?
The 'terrorists' of Guantanamo that have confessed to various allegations should not be trusted to make that judgement, if their confessions is the only real evidence then every conviction coming out of that hell hole should be considered a mockery to justice everywhere.
This program only mentioned isolation as a method, we have no idea how devastating torture can be to ones mind either. If what they say is true, that only a few 'terrorists' were tortured by simulated drowning to comply with confessions then one could expect those individuals to have been very resistant to isolation. A tortured mind should be considered even less, if possible, reliable than a mind lacking stimulation.

In the BBC and most likely other British news outlets, this stems back to the 1997 Downing street meeting that Tony Blair held and when he 'invited' all the major UK news orgs to attend.

Choosing the life of an Ex-Pat is like jumping off of a cliff. Among some of the circles I haved moved in have a three year limit on the stay in a certain country and then it's off again to the next place. It was the the American Embassy kids who I first took care of in my early twenties while learning my way around.
I nannied their children when I first started the language program and never really saw anything like it. Children learn the language so quickly I felt foolish but learned so much more quickly playing with them. Swedish especially because Danish is much more hard to learn.
But where I really learned where in my Danish classes which consisted of so many Africans, many people of the Middle East, paricularly Iraqis, Palastinians and Jordans, Inodnesians, Chinese, Pakistanis, Afganis, Croations, Serbiens, Russians, Georgians, the Turkish, Polish, Colombians, Romanians, Moldovians, Ukrainians, Serbiens.
My language classes were the best thing that ever happened to me. Ever.

The no-fly list is built with the following erroneous conclusions:
1. Islamic terrorists want to send a message, and will therefore choose to fly using documents with names like 'Saddam Hussein' and 'Mohammed Atta.'
2. If they do not use names like 'Saddam Hussein' and 'Mohammed Atta,' they will cleverly disguise themselves as middle-aged white men named Robert Johnson and John Williams. Failing that, they disguise themselves as six-year old boys, members of Congress, or active-duty members of the armed forces.
3. People with names like 'Saddam Hussein' and 'Robert Johnson' are impervious to X-Rays, liquid bans, and shoe checks. They are able to pull weapons out of interdimensional pockets and bypass security screening.
4. Given the above, it somehow makes sense to create an expedited security-screening list and charge frequent travelers $100 to join, because We All Know terrorists can't afford $100 and will prefer, instead, to travel under the name 'Saddam Hussein.'
5. And let's not forget that arming our pilots has completely prevented hijackings since 9/11. Never mind that the only time a weapon has been discharged was in this past weekend's accidental discharge of a pilot's weapon in the cockpit, puncturing the hull of the aircraft.

What's the matter with conservatism? Its problems start with the failure of George W. Bush's presidency, but they don't end there. Inequality is rising, and working-class voters are being hammered. The cost and availability of health coverage are a big problem, and some Republicans don't want to talk about that, simply because they see it as a "Democratic issue."
Don't take my word on this. The themes I just outlined come from two important new books written by conservatives. The authors are worried about their movement's future and accept -- to use the language directed once upon a time against liberals -- that the right is tired, short of ideas and mired in the past.

********************************************************
There's no other possible way to describe this other than "flat-out insane" -- but then again, we should hardly be surprised since this is the Bush administration we're talking about here and rationality appears to be something of a foreign concept to them! If the Bush administration knows for a fact that the men who carried out the attacks on 9/11 really were who they supposedly were (even though there is supposedly at least some room for doubt on that score), then why are their names still appearing on the watch list over six years later given that none of them could possibly have survived? Even if you attribute the persistance of the names on these lists to nothing more than simple bureaucratic bungling -- which admittedly is a plausible explanation -- it still doesn't speak all that well for the Bush administration since it suggests that nobody's making any effort to check the lists for inaccuracy.

The BBC and other British / European news outlets interviewed the live 'hijackers' they were people who had had their passports stolen at various airports around the world, and persons unknown assumed their identities.
Assuming the official 4 plane 19 hijacker story is true, it most likely is the case that professional agents from some country like Libya or Syria did the evil deed, Syrian agents were the most likely candidate in British eyes post 9/11.
The line that it was 19 mostly amateur thugs was laughed at the time, by people in Europe, the American MSM sold the lie they were fed and the US public gratefully bought it.
Does anyone here have the courage to see, think, and believe true for themselves that the US economy has been actually crashing since 2001, regardless of what the "official" statistics say? Does anyone here REALLY think that inflation is only 4%? It's actually closer to 10%, but the Fed doesn't want anyone to know because they need to keep the game going in order to get foreign suckers to buy worthless US treasuries.
The Dow Jones for example, even though it goes up in nominal terms, has actually lost in REAL terms.
http://www.financialsense.com/fsu/editorials/2007/0416.html
Read this article, remember the name John Williams, remember that you heard it HERE and NOW that the US dollar is going to eventually collapse completely. The Federal Reserve publishes inflation as 4%, but not a whole lot of people know that they changed the way they calculate it. Obviously the change was to make prices appear lower than they really are.
For example, the BLS does not even include food or energy in its CPI index! What they do is observe food prices, and if prices rise "too fast", then they delete it altogether and "substitute" that food for something else that didn't rise so much in price.
Also, and most importantly, the BLS uses what's called "hedonic regressions", and what this means is that they now include "quality" in their CPI calculations. In other words, if a product in the CPI becomes more expensive (on account of the Federal Reserve increasing the supply of currency), the BLS will say, ok, that PC has increased in quality over the years, because it used to have a 500 MHz processor, now it has a 1000 Mhz processor, therefore we will adjust the current price DOWNWARDS in order to account for the quality! So if the PC cost say $2000, they will instead count it as only $1000 say.
THAT IS WHY INFLATION IS REPORTED AS ONLY 4% BUT PEOPLE ARE LOSING THEIR WEALTH EVERYDAY!!!!!
If you invested in the Dow Jones in 2000, then in order to break even in REAL terms, it would have to be at 20,000 points (or some other huge number, it's in the link, this number could be wrong but you get the picture).
Basically the economy is crashing slowly as we speak. The Fed and the government, who each have PhD economic and financial advisers working for them, who have all been trained in Keynesian and Chicago Monetarism theories, are basically bankrupting America RIGHT THE FUCK NOW, and they are doing everything they can to keep a lid on the real problems, because the only way to keep our debt based economy going is to borrow from abroad.
Once foreigners figure things out, once people here realize that US money is not worth anything anymore, people will flock to the commodities for safety.
If you have investments in the US, please move ALL your money into foreign based stocks with dependable high dividends, and most importantly, invest in gold, silver, oil, wheat, basically all the things that the bobbleheads on Fox Business News TV say not to do.
Do NOT invest in US treasuries, because they yield 4.5% nominally, but inflation is 10%, meaning you LOSE 5.5% just by investing in that "risk free" asset.
Do NOT invest in any US stock. GET THE HELL OUT NOW while you still have a shirt.
that number looks a lot like the number of felons excluded from the florida voting rolls.
Well, there are some pretty terrifying watches out there...

mHmmm, muuuuust looooook for beeeeeer...
I can not believe the double standard of this web site. They took advantage of every nook and crannies about the Reverend Wright mess, and Senator Obama did not have anything to do with the words from that man.
Call it what ever you want to but many of you that are not black need to understand that we as blacks in this country take a very different stand on the race issue then many whites and does not mean that we are right and you are wrong. We just think different, which is why Senator Obama's advice is so good, but if any of you disagree with that notion. Don't vote for him is the solution, but don't dump on him for taking a stand that he believes in and his pastor is a big part of his life even though he may see some of the things that he says as wrong. It is the way we are period.
Oh but in the past year I personally have screamed about the Lie's and distortions of fact from Hillary and it is not because I don't like her. I worked both times for her husbands campaigns, but I know the truth from a lie and just how important it is for us to be honest so that we do not get what we have had in the last eight years.
Governor Richardson also took a very courageous stand against bigotry and racism from the Clinton camp (yes i am saying that), because the bigot James Carviel who attacked him because he did not play the game .
The Clintons sent him out to slam the good Governor for standing up and putting the country first is the right thing to do.
President Clinton has been winning and dinning Gov. Richardson sense he left the campaign and regardless of what many white American think and believe. Brown and Black people are not stupid (most of us anyhow), as many of you think and the actions in Iraq should also give you a pretty good picture to go on. Richardson knew he was being used and he was not having any of that.
The office of the President of the United States is far too important for that shit. I only wish that some of the Black Caucus members would have been just as courageous and did not buy it, because that office is just not for sale and he owes the Clinton's nothing because the job they selected him for, he worked it with precision as his payment to the President and to this country.
I really though that this web site was one that was different from what we have been accustomed to and that we were all working for the betterment of this country against the right wing establishments that have been simply devastating to this country.;
I begged people to go where ever you need to go to find the truth and then use it to the advantage of the lessor of this country.
In case you don't know or understand who the lessor is. It is us, you and me.
StCyrlyMe2 says:
In the mist of one of the most important political seasons in the history of this country, we get nothing on any of the political stations but the cheap sleaze, that is passed off as political information. They owe us more then this folks.
In the last two or three weeks, they gave us nothing but U-Tube videos of Reverend Wright, who is not running for any elected office and has nothing to do with it and it makes no difference what he said, because people make the kind of remarks, speeches and statements like that all the time and they know it.
Now here we go again with these Lie's and distortions of fact from the mouth of Hillary Clinton as if they did not know this in the first place, when knowledgeable people like myself have been all over the Internet, at their front and back doors and in their faces, from the very beginning of these misstatements of fact, they have willfully allowed her to get away with, simply because she is Hillary Clinton and it was thought that because of her name and the fact that she was the first lady, that she automatically should be given cart Blanche entrance to the highest office in the land. It's how and why we got Bush..
It does not take a rocket scientists to know that Hillary Clinton could not have all the experience she has claimed to have had, because she has not been in responsible federal positions of authority long enough to make that claim.
The majority of the men and women that support her campaign, with consecutive terms in the Congress/Senate and offices of the Governorships, have far more experience then she would ever come to realize and they, themselves know this to be a fact and why many of them have kept quite is beyond me.
You don't gain the kind of experience she is claiming to have, when you have not spent that much time there, and the office of the President is the least likely office to have a whole lot of knowledge and experience, unless they have served consecutive terms in not just federal offices, but city, county and state offices, where you have worked through the ranks and moved up the chain as you learn, which really does give Senator Obama so much more in the area of experience then she would have .
It is the reason the President of the United States is authorized to choose what we know to be his Cabinet Post. These are people the president chooses to advise him in areas where he may be somewhat weak and need experienced individuals to manage those areas of responsibility and advise him of the current status.
Now it does not take a rocket scientists to tell us that the cabinet members that George Bush has appointed to pretty much all of his cabinet post, have been inadequate and have pretty much failed him and the people of this country, but even worse yet is the fact that many of them are still in the positions he appointed them too, which is devastating to this country.
There is never anyone that knows more about the government then the little guys that do the important jobs and that is a fact. And when you start at the bottom and work your way up is an achievement that many of these people that have been currently installed into the higher up levels, without this experience and that are making the critical decisions, are really at a disadvantage, especially those that refuse to listen to the people who do have the experience and knowledge. It was the worst thing he could do to our government and I think that the current shape of this country, under the leadership of these people, tells the story.
We have got to get good strong competent individuals into our Government that understands that you cannot run the government as if it were a private agency that is controlled by the bottom dollar. This is the problem we have with Republican leadership in this country.
These people have worked very hard to convince American people that we don't need our government and that we would be so much more better off if we just privatized it and allowed the private world to run it as we have seen happen in the last eight years.
Well now we are looking at an America that is controlled by the private sector and the question we all have to ask ourselves is,this.
Is it working?
Peace
