"lot of guts?"

Hard to see with that flak-jacket under his jacket.

So he's saying that a president who NEVER holds public events where his audience isn't handpicked loyal "Bushies" once a year throws out a pitch at a baseball game where he's surrounded by armed security and Matthews thinks he's got guts?

Tweety needs to be fired. He's not mentally stable.

Another good reason why this idiot needs to be taken off the air. His comments about anything are absolutely ludicrous. Bush has thrown this world into chaos and this moron is giving him credit for "having the guts" to appear in public just shows how insane Matthews has become.

really?
obama gets booed? where? when?

msm does the bidding of the shadowy puppetmasters that run our world!

bush is doing a good job for the "board of directors" they aren't booing!

How the system works!

He deserved to be booed, and Tweety should be taken off the air. What a brown-noser!

Right...
That's why he was in the National Guard and...AWOL
Watched the many clips, Matthews is a keep the ratings whore and a non important fuck...WHY does Ed Schultz think this guy is worth any time???
GO BRAVES!

Every time Bush fucks up, he can always count on Tweety and his cohorts in the MSM to cover his tracks.

The MSM doesn't want to admit their complicity in the Bush administration's policies. They still think he's a good guy. They're part of the 28 percent.

Tweets pinches off yet another fresh steaming coil of wisdom..

But wait.

Does that mean the last two years when W as AWOL from the season openers he was , . . . gutless?

Damn liberal media.

Twittie needs to get out in the sun, being that pale white can't be good for him, however he will make a good pugsley for the Adams family. Guts you say? ol gw must have been pissed down to his little pecker, baseball is a part of his "big man "persona along with "War President". He looked as if he might cry. Cry us a river you little prick!

Matthews did say "don't throw out the first pitch when you have 30% approval ratings."

Guts would be admitting that the Iraq War was a terrible miscalculation and he'd donate all of the money from his future books and speaking fees to the families of all of those who died or became seriously handicapped in his disaster.

Getting booed for 30 seconds while throwing out the first pitch at a baseball game is a privilege that over 4,000 men and women who have fought in Bush's War never will have among other things.

Long Live The Dixie Chicks!!! Should we boycott The Nationals now?

I guess that's what happens when you don't get to fill the place with loyal Bushites.

Then again, it would be hard pressed for him to find 40,000 supporters anymore.

mathews obviously doesn't know what courage is.

Tweety--ugh, *get a room*, and keep your man-crushes off-screen, please?

the only guts Bush showed was that the criminal had the guts to get that far away from his Secret Service bodyguards...why anybody would want to take a bullet for *that* is beyond my comprehension

HOW DARE ANY OF YOU ACCUSE OUR PRESIDENT OF BEING GUTLESS...

.............oh....... okay....... my-bad

Speaking of cable news, why is Fox having that lesbian stroke victim do wall to wall political stories? Isn't white women in peril more of her forte?

THE VERDICT IS IN.....

78% OF AMERICANS WOULD RATHER KEEP THE PITCH AND THROW OUT THE PRESIDENT

I think we're missing a big moment here...Matthews actually showed this footage and even said that you shouldn't throw an opener with low approval ratings and that W got booed.

C'mon people! Chris Matthews said that. That's big.

Big Dick Cheney @ 20:

THE VERDICT IS IN.....

Do you think in Detroit they would have had another "Disco is Dead" type promotion where they gave under fan a free baseball and let them throw it at Bush when he took the field?

to pink@9 Steaming coil of wisdom, thats too funny, you made my gin/tonic come out my nose! keep it up! Ahaaaahaaaaaaaaaaaaaahaa

Chimpy has never cared what people think. It's one of his many endearing qualities. He's so out of touch with reality that he probably never heard the boos while enacting his fantasy about being in the big leagues...

I think many were yelling "boob"!

Can't comment on Chris Matthews Show. Quit watching him months ago. Could not stomach it anymore.

Matthews has guts to keep up this bush worship when he must know he will eventually have to change his tune. Praise for Bush will only be uttered in private in the not near enough future.

"He's got a lot of guts throwing that pitch?"

How about the gall it took to throw the pitch about the need to attack Iraq?

Same thing - neither were anywhere close to being a strike.

If getting booed shows guts, Shrub has enough to overflow a rendering plant.

When is the last time Boo-ush faced a crowd of real people?
I can't think of any in years.

Can Matthews hump Bush's leg any harder? What a pathetic, filthy little poodlewhore!

CEO,citizens,eyes,open @ 24:

Cheers dude.

too bad it wasn't 'bat night'.

I'd rather see him throw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium

let's summarize.....

an unpopular failure throws a ball to a manager because in his baseball owner days he did little or nothing about drug use in MBL....so the slated catcher is named in a drug scandal and they have to save him from his own embarrassment.....again.

have you ever seen "the born loser" cartoon strip?

Give Tweety some cred. At least he admits that Bush got booed, unlike half the commentators on ESPN who said he "got a good mix of cheers and boos", and the demented moonbat trolls on Thinkprogress who claim that he didn't get booed at all.

funny !bush is the first president ive ever seen whos been egged and booed!!!!!!! makes my heart sing!

i hope they're booing his eocnomic policies--the taxcuts.

It ain't guts Chris , the guy is as dumb as a box of rocks and is completely out of touch with reality that's all .

I'm telling you, the sonofabitch wants to be Commissioner of baseball after he leaves the White House. Last night was his big audition. For the love of the game, may God grant the birdbrain owners the wisdom to realize what a disaster that appointment would be for their pocketbooks.

Blue Taliban Osama Buddha @ 37:

There are some real strange ones over there at times.

These guys went to a lot of baseball games...did they get booed when they did?

The answer would be, no. These guys were popular and effective presidents.

Even this guy didn't get the kind of booing that W. got last night:

http://www.baseball-almanac.com/prz_crn.shtml

I guess one could argue, in a cynical way, that any person so unpopular with the rest of his country has guts just to show his face in public.

But didn't bushie look Lincolnesque? [snicker]

I'm surprised Matthews didn't say that, or how big bushie's package was.

odanny @ 35:

I'd rather see him throw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium

Next year as ex-president Bush can operate the crane that hits the old, darkened Yankee Stadium with the first blow of the wrecking ball. And, God willing, Dick Cheney will be his catcher. To those offended by this suggestion my reply is a direct quote from the Vice President: "So?..."

if youd watched bushes face when they had a close up of him walking out to the pitchers mound youd see that look he gave the fans!it was a im not thru screwing you yet look!

JT @ 25:

Chimpy has never cared what people think. It's one of his many endearing qualities. He's so out of touch with reality that he probably never heard the boos while enacting his fantasy about being in the big leagues...

He thought they were yellin' 'Boooosh......Booooosh....Booooosh!' And he won't be amused to learn otherwise from Tweety the jock-sniffer.

In other news The Magic Man rolls a 37! Dude, I bet Hillary can do better than that!

Now that Barry Bonds, he has guts.

So... was Bush's appearance here promoted before the game... or did they hustle him in and out in blacked-out SUV's the way they move him in-and-out of Baghdad under the cover of darkness and DEEP SECURITY?

Paraphrase the movie "Patton" "His guts, our blood". Chris Tweety Mathews please don't come out of your cage and buzz around the adults. Who in their right mind can stick up this__(fill in the blank). Only two kinds of people can stand up for Bush 1. The robber barons who louted this country the last eight years. 2. People like Tweety who have a man crush (which there is nothing wrong with it) but these two (Bush and Bomb Bomb McCain) you have a pretty bad taste in man.

The disco craziness was in Chicago, not Detroit
You're confused with the riots

Do you think in Detroit they would have had another "Disco is Dead" type promotion where they gave under fan a free baseball and let them throw it at Bush when he took the field?

herr dubyah throws like girl

Years ago, I read that Karl Rove described Bush's reception at a a ball game they both attended as reminding him of how Hitler was received at Nazi rallies at Nuremberg.

Of course, this cheering by the fans predated his horrendous run as the worst president in American history, but I bet many of those cheering fans that day wish they could take their clapping back, and have George W. Bush clapped in irons instead.

Unrelated but thought I would mention that my school decided to have Chris Matthews, one of the least professional newscasters on television in my opinion, do our commencement speech. Could they have found a less inspiring person?

watched the video this morning, were they blurring out security goons in some of it?
possibly some heavily armed sniper types with guns trained on the audience by any chance, thats the impression I got from some bits of it.

Why is it that all spineless neo-conservative weasels like to embrace baseball to prove their manliness?

Three perfect examples:
-G.W. Bush
-George Will
-Tweety

this tweety version has much lower level of booing than the other raw one.

I would like to see a national tour, with Bush, Cheney, McCain, Hillary, Tweety, and Tim Russert. They could take turns lapping the bases one at a time and see who gets bood the loudest. Get the shmuck from American Idol to do the voice-over....what a love fest that would be!

Rob #54
Ouch! Who was the genius that made that decision?

I have a cartoon idea.

Bush tossing his wife at home plate with the caption, "Tossing out the First Bitch."

Sorry, guess it's true what they say about idle minds. Oh well.

it takes guts to be booed? have you finally lost your mind?
of course a steaming plate of tripe isn't going to be universally well recieved either tweety but you don't see *it* shoving it's repugnant self in front of a huge crowd trying to have fun on teevee during family dinner time do you? well do you?

This lying media are the enemy of America.

WHAT "BOOS" ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?

This is from the official transcript (available on whitehouse.gov)

"And here to throw out the inaugural pitch at Nationals Park, to mark a new era of Washington baseball, the President of the United States. (Applause and cheers.)"

Another glimpse into the mind of a sociopath: Bush : hated by a majority of Americans and the world, guilty of war crimes and constitutional crimes, blood on his hands...but can pitch without flinching. That's not to be admired, it's sickening.

Tweety looks sick these days. May he be in his final throes?

Tweety, Russert and the MSM will be so far up McCain's butt in the general election they'll need lighted miner's helmets on to report their lies.

"All politicians" don't please everyone. "All politicians" have some people that will boo them no matter what. But not "all politicians" get a loud and strong booing like the puppet-with-cheney's-hand-up-his-ass did.

Just keep putting a smiley face on everything tweety...you asshole. He makes me want to vomit about half the time I see his grinning, evil smile.

This last Sunday, March 29, 08 , the City of San Francisco commemorated the first USA national memorial to the Abraham Lincoln Brigade. This men and women fought in Spain against the Fascist takeover of the Spainish Republic. Thank you Mayor Newsom for being there to inaugarate this memorial. The Ambassador to Spain was cheered for his participation in the event. Why was George Schultz there? He is a fascist bastard if ever there was one. He was roundly booed when his name was announced. Yes, the fascist bastardds are booed. It is better to die on your feet, than to live on your knees. Dorothy.

Tweety and his legendary man-crushes. Bush and his "package" are among Tweety's favorites if I recall correctly - the time when Bush was prancing around in costume in front of a "Mission Accomplished" banner on an Aircraft carrier (that was safely docked.)

Tweety is completely a reich-wing tool and he still sucks.
*

.

And in 2001 Der Comandant in Chief got a standing ovation...

Tweety dare not compare... NO?

Yeah, Obama won't be booed, blondy. Dufus. Irrelevant wanka. Future unemployed dirtbag hoser. OK, no more sake for me. Gobama!

How well said and correct.

I wonder if Chris is a complete media idiot sometimes.

He gets all excited over "guts". But confuses guts with elite arrogance.

I bet male intestinal fortitude is like viagra for Chris.

That was a LOT of booing. With the exception of the few close to him I would say it was the whole stadium. Why hasn't this criminal been impeached yet?

"All politicians get booed"....I'd like to know how he reaches that conclusion. Not all politicians are so grossly incompetent and have approval ratings in the toilet either. Might have something to do with the booing, don't ya think Tweety. I have no doubt this country would have backed impeachment had only the Dems stood up and made a case.

I bet Tweety's brown Pinocchio nose stuck so far up Shrubby's ass must feel good...

What. An. Idiot.

Tweety, Russert and even George Snuffoppoopolous shows--check out the advertisers.Boeing, Airforce--oil buddies of Chenny {:-)

This assclown gets paid big bucks to be on television, doesn't say much for the American viewing public does it.

they completely alterned the sound of the crowd for this clip. all the ones i have heard (from the same camera shot) the boo's where much much louder. here they were 'muffled' by cheers that were certainly absent before.

shame on hardball for that doctor job.

I Can't recall...did Bill Clinton get booed when he threw out the ball?

Guts? Guts is Obama throwing his first bowling ball yesterday not even halfway down the lane before it hits the gutter, then continuing on long enough to finish the game and post a 37. That, my friends, is guts.

Not throwing a 75 mph heater fastball in street clothes and a heavy jacket on a cold, wet, and rainy afternoon when you're 62 years old. Gimme a break, who couldn't do that?

mls @ 74:

That was a LOT of booing. With the exception of the few close to him I would say it was the whole stadium. Why hasn't this criminal been impeached yet?

Because Congress is afraid of him and his buddies. Because the American People are being ignored by their politicians, who are only interested in the Big Bucks. Because Impeachment is a long, slow, cumbersome process that does not necessarily remove a lying murdering moron from office. Better ask "Why haven't the Joint Chiefs of Staff Arrested him and Cheney for Treason?"

Wow....Chris...

It must taken all of your brain cells to come up with that one!

I can now fully understand why people watch his show....I mean...really...how can you possibly resist someone who can confuse guts with ultra obliviousness????

Yet another reason to only turn on MSNBC at 7:59 P.M..... for the following 61 minutes....

He has "guts" as long as it's someone else that he puts in harms way.
Didn't you see the pictures of him landing as a passenger on the aircraft carrier that had the banner "mission accomplished" displayed. For Bush that should have read "emission accomplished" as he creamed his "package".

Braindead would be a better description.
The Chimp is a dry drunk with a highly impaired brain.

Weldon -

let’s summarize…..

Sure he did. Chimpie used all the coke and alcohol he could his hands on.

Couldn't some people have arranged for him to become the commissioner of baseball back in the mid-90s so that we could have avoided this whole presidency nightmare?

I do think this awful sack of shit has guts....to show his fucking face in a true public setting after everything he has done to the nation and around the world. I wish he had torn his rotator cuff when he threw that pitch.

Bush has encountered more than his share of booze throughout his lifetime.

Here's a list of ceremonial first pitches. The only one that mentions the president getting booed, includeing prior years of W's tenure, is 2008. Check it out.

I am in agreement with you guys on this. It doesn't take guts for Bush to go out and do something he's obviously gifted at.

Guts is John Kerry out windsurfing in the middle of an election campaign when the central thesis of his presidential campaign has been taken and down and dissected, bit by bit. Or when he went goose-hunting in Ohio and told the reporters that 'everyone got one', even though everyone had a dead goose in their hands except him- why no mention by Chris of the guts that took?

Or his own 'first lob' at a RedSox game, an, ahem, 'throw' that didn't even reach the catcher- THAT was guts. He got booed there too, why doesn't Chrissy tell us how much guts that took for Kerry to go out and do that?

C'mon, Chris. Be fair to the Dems- they have guts too!

dennis @ 93:

Dennis, come on man, you can't be saying that you still support Bush after all these terrible awful years? If so, how do you justify the Iraq War? Why? Why would you support such a destructive evil terrible man as GW Bush? This isn't about baseball, it's about the fact that Bush is probably the most despised person on the face of this green earth because he has destroyed vast chunks of our nation. I don't understand you Dennis, unless you're simply an attention-starved instigating troll...

Ahh Dennis, man, you never fail to show your complete and utter denial of reality do you? Because being able to throw a decent pitch has so much to do with leadership skills and intelligence right? Get a life and stop trolling around here, your just embarrassing yourself lol.

PS I'm so glad that while Iraq has been falling apart over the past week and a half, our President was obviously practicing his upcoming opener fucking pitch...

Inigo- what does his pitch and Chris' depiction of it have to do with the Iraq War? How do you get that any description of this pitch, whether it was a damn good throw or what guts it took to go out and make it, has anything to do with whether or not I support his decisions? I really don't get it. This IS about baseball, that day, Opening Day, is ceremonial, it's what Presidents do- learn your history. It's one thing that is NOT about the war, yet you and many others somehow tie it back to his evilness.

Yeah, he is the most despised person on the face of the earth, but relating that to this pitch or Chris' depiction of it is absurd.

Not that that should stop you though- I fully support your right to do that.

Wrong again, Matthews. Presidents rarely get booed at occasions like the opening of a new sports stadium in Washington, D.C. They rarely get booed on Opening Day of the baseball season. At least, they don't get booed by a clear majority of the crowd, which was obvious from TV.

Bush doesn't have what you call "guts." He has utter contempt for anyone who dislikes him or disagrees with him. His whole credo is "loyalty," which to a member of the Bush family translates as, "You're for us or against us, and if you're against us...fuck you."

Get over your obsession with this man, Matthews. It isn't doing you a bit of good, unless you're getting special invitations to Camp David that we haven't been told about yet.

The reality is Bush doesn't give a shit whether he is booed. His friends have made a ton of money over the last 8 years so all is good in Bush World. Chris Matthews can kiss my ass.I've had it with his bullshit
Peace, jason

He doesn't have guts. He has a bullet proof vest and a mental bubble that allows him to think people love him, when it's blatantly clear we don't.

Matthews is just offended that the rest of the country doesn't share his man crush on the Shrub's inflated codpiece.

Bush got booed . . . so?

Hey Chris. Guts lets talk about Guts. You see since Bush has been the "So called President" he does not throw out the first pitch at Baltimore Orioles games because the Owner (Who is a Democrat) called bush out years ago. What were you saying about Guts.

The Oracle @ 53:

Years ago, I read that Karl Rove described Bush's reception at a a ball game they both attended as reminding him of how Hitler was received at Nazi rallies at Nuremberg.

Now it's more like how Hermann Goring was received at Nuremberg.

Actually the most potentially inflammatory thing Chris said in that segment, and I'm surprised none of the mouth-breathers here picked up on it, was the ethnic comment he made about Obama and that "the fact he was good at basketball doesn't surprise anybody, but the fact that he's that terrible at bowling does make you wonder."

Tweety, put a sock in it!

FINEMAN: But if you can't do something like that, you shouldn't do it. He should have stuck to shooting hoops --

MATTHEWS: Yeah, I know.

I'm surprised Matthews hasn't already been suspended.

Something that may have been missed:

What takes guts is following orders as a US soldier in a war or occupation that was illegal. It takes guts to stand up to those that oppress you. It takes guts to stand with with those that can't speak for themselves.

I've seen guts Mr. Matthews, and that sir wasn't guts.

Not surprised at all that Tweety would spin it for his crush. When Bush was in the flight suit, I thought he'd start stroking it right on the air. Not that the mental masturbation wasn't sickening enough, mind you.

Here's the raw video - a LOT more booing...

http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=235_1206932311

Tweety gets worse every day. Shouldn't he be in a padded cell?

Tweety: Bush “has a lot of guts” because “all politicians get booed”

So do ghosts

But they shuffled off their guts along with their mortal coils long ago.

dennis @ 108:

Complete and utter terrorist simp bullshit.

Bill Clinton is loved every where he goes. He's not a mass murdering baby killing Christian terrorist and fascist. THAT'S why this monster gets booed and yelled at every where he shows his terrorist, treasonous face anywhere.

did y'all see how far up Ed Rendell's ass tweety was yesterday. Then Obermann puts Rendell in as worse person of the day right afterwards. Classic!!! Rendell is a disgrace to the demoncratic party and is listed as top friend of Joe Lieberman.

http://www.nndb.com/org/516/000169009/

Matthews may CALL himself a libertarian, but make no mistake. The guy is a slobbering rabid republican who will always back up the reich-wing agenda, beyond any doubt. The disguise always comes off during an election cyle.

Hell, this freak of nature even ENJOYS this ungodly nightmare we call politics! How depraved is that?

capnmike @ 83:

I Can't recall...did Bill Clinton get booed when he threw out the ball?

I can't recall Clinton starting a war that has cost a trillion dollars, way over 4000 American lives, if they are doctoring the numbers as I suspect, and our respect in the world.

The point most are making here is that this man deserves to be booed forever and ever.

And yes, Capnmide a bj and a disastrous war are equal crimes. Is that what they say at your bible study group and GOP committee meetings?

It does indeed take a lot of guts to be a despotic madman.

The staging on CNBC and other stations into the Bear Stearns debacle tells us the following.

The past 5 years of economic expansion, give or take a few months, have been orchestrated.
The economy was false, did not produce anything, but huge unpayable credit obligations, sinful executive pay packages.
The sinful executive pay packages if carefully scrutinized amount to grand theft and all should be prosecuted.
We should demand repayment of all financial gains that were attributed to this fraudulent ghost economy by those that financially benefited. We should not be rewarding these CEO’s for incompetence and total financial self serving gains.
This fiasco definitely tells all Americans that only our HEROIC ARMED SERVICES FIGHTING FORCES are making sacrifices in this War against Terror. While our ARMED FORCES are fighting and trying to protect this country against war mongering terrorists, “WE HAVE A BUNCH OF SELFISH GREEDY FINANCIAL TERRORISTS ON WALL STREET”. These FINANCIAL TERRORISTS need to be treated no differently. They need to answer for their crimes, instead of parading them in front of Congress; they need to be brought in front of a court of law to answer for attempting to bring down our economy. The entire structure of our economy is at a precipice. The Wall Street crowd is robbing and cannibalizing Future Generations.
I sure do not see any of this “elitist clic” making any sacrifice because of this war except making people sacrifices of their greed. This greed has allowed them to live more lavish then the worst dictators in the world while our ARMED FORCES are living under battle conditions which is not the TRUMP TOWER.
The orchestra played the tunes of "FRAUD">"DECEPTION">"SMOKE AND MIRRORS", and "GREED" The entire economy did not create anything but stealing from the future generations, a stable financial market and social sanity.
