What can I say? Thousands stranded, Dow dropping, food shortages around the globe, endless wars, feeble press, incompetant government,.... Yeah, it's shaping up to be a glorious weekend!
Thanks loads for the link, Mike. For those that are interested, my feature story on Burk, which goes into how she's fighting Augusta National in other venues (and winning thus far to the tune of $80 million) can be found by clicking here.

what have you got to complain about , dont you know people in china are starveing? oh wait that was ww2 , guess with all our jobs going to china errr well never mind!!!!
P.D. @ 1:
watch the DOW plummet end of April. its on a seven week cycle at the moment, plus a general downward trend, and has been since last november.
Gen. Petraeus's Surge-a-go-go
Watching the wizards on the finacial channel pisses me off. Did you know that the stocks tumbling is all the fault of the middle class? It seems we are spreading the misinformation that the economy is in a recession.(gasp)! Bad average working man! Bad!
I always used to find the stock markets boring and of no interest, but really its quite interesting and fun to watch it do its thing.
When you look at some of the companies and the pitiful dividends they pay out on their shares, and the way the markets are manipulated by brokers and players, OMFG its more fun than pro sports or anything else on TV, very amusing.
Since most of us don't own a significant amount of stock, the stock market ends up being the measure of the wealth of the wealthiest people.
general colin powell...
what have we learned recently about the good general:
a) he talks kindly about obama (over reported) *yawns*
b) he was in on the technical details, planning and discussion about the SPECIFIC torture techniques we used on our gulag-ees. (under reported)
i say, to mr. sec'y of state, stop hiding behind armitage and wilkerson and come out and talk. stop playing the good soldier, while having your surrogates talk for you. what part did you play in torture? if you were against torture, why did you not resign in protest? your legacy is in tatters, but if you were to come out hard and strong now against the legacy you are a part of it would be the first small step in the rehabilitation of your mud-dragged reputation.
again, mr. powell, did you support torture? if not, why didn't you resign?

Jim Cramer tuesday screaming at his audience "dont be idiots, Bear is FINE", JC on friday (crickets)

I feel sorry for the people having their 401Ks gutted and sold down the river by the crooked brokers,
but on the whole a stock slump and housing bubble crash is amusing.
Its not as if any of this hasnt happened before and in recent living memory too, people just dont read and understand history.
I was Listening to Mike and Mike on ESPN this morning and the subject of why some people don't like Tiger Woods came up. The one legitimate reason in my opinion is he stands on the shoulder of people like Jackie Robinson, Mohammad Ali, Jim Brown, John Carlos and MLK. Tiger chooses to take the money from all of the giant multinational corporations for being their front man and talking head and remains mute on the social and political issues of the day. Both Mike and Mike thought that was just fine and gave some examples off the tops of their heads of people who do speak out. Their take was that they didn't understand why these people felt they needed to speak out on things they know little about and look ridiculous. The names they could think of were Oprah, Ben Affleck, Leonardo Dicaprio, Aleic Baldwin, and George Clooney. So if you have progressive views and speak out you look silly according to these people who have a national radio show.
I like sports and like to watch major golf events but it pains me that they tie themselves to the most terrible and evil corporations in the world and its not just golf.
Hey, faux news says everything is fine. The war is just going fine, the bush crew are bailing out wallstreet, oil companys are making millions, what could be better? All you surfs out there should be thankfull, that us pigs are getting ours. (snark).
P.D. @ 6:
the fools, as you jokingly and sarcastically called 'wizards, are the pawns and puppets of the system. (as you know).
america, as many are despondent over, is in biiiiiiiiig trouble. trouble b/c our political leaders heeded the advice of these fools. capital goes where goes, and doesn't give 2 shits about america.
we live in a capitalist world system economy. and no matter what the lies the wall street pundits/fools say, the fault is not the middle class, not the consumer, not the govt, but the market fundamentalists themselves.
choir preachin'

Speak out and be dropped or have a Miachale Jackson done on you, I am sure MJ got on the MSMs black list for doing the black power salute all those years ago, he was a marked man from that point on.
the golden rule, never ever go on Faux or any other hostile TV show, they will only edit (for their out of context purposes) and distort everything a person says.
Ah, I know this is off-topic. But why does Dick Chaney's sunglasses pass as headline news? I thought there was a war going on? MSM strikes again!
P.D. @ 16:
Goes right along with MSNBC, Breaking News... fire alarm goes off in Mass. state house.
P.D. @ 16:
There is no war, so they don't cover it.
OT:
JOHN AMATO! What's up with the NEWSMAX ad on your home page? Are you kidding me? Do you take money from anyone?
Sheesh!
Site Monitor: It's a Google Ad, that rotates based on keywords on the page. We have no control over it, but it will cycle out soon.
Or better yet, Katie Couric's leaving CBS and American Idol!
Dr. Acula, Don't be to hard on John. With the way things are going will all be living in cardboard boxes. I guess we should reap up all the cash while we can.
Breaking; Bagdad in lock-down after a top cleric to al Sadr is assasinated.
P.D. @ 22:
It was his brother-in-law. I'm guessing al Sadr will lift his cease-fire.
Great! Just perfect! I thought Betrayus said things were improving. What a load of crap!
Am I the only one that thinks McCain's appearance on the View and his comment to Whoopi was utterly tasteless - not funny at all? A man of his age ought to know that the only comment you make to anyone about how they are dressed is to give them a sincere compliment.
Course I didn't get the humor when he made like he was going to backhand Jon Stewart on his last appearance on the Daily Show either.
Right wing humor - just not that funny, I guess.
Jusker @ 25:
Oh, but all the tools on Morning Jo(k)e thought McBush was sooooo funny. Asshats.
RayC @ 12:
Mike and Mike are corporate stooges, just like everyone else in the M$M. They're toeing the company line so they can continue to live in gated communities and send their kids to prep schools. Socially they're insignificant and very often come close to Limbaugh/Hannity/Orally Funland.
Dr. Acula @ 26:
Thanks for the link! The gag about Petraeus and the writer's strike is pretty good.
