I would like to add the name of Eleanor Wasson to the list. She died a few days ago at the age of 100 years. She was a widely respected anti-nuclear activist in Southern California for years before moving up the the San Francisco Bay area.

She was loved by many and will be missed.

I wonder if Republicans ever contemplate the fact that they are responsible for the slaughter of more Americans than Osama Bin Laden.

Each family that has lost a member is asking for the U.S. to leave before any more damage can be done to them. The mantra that we keep killing so that our 4033 dead will 'not have died in vain' is ludicrous. The troops have died to bring an end to, not to keep on with, killing.

I'm sure those 304 families and friends of the deceased would have a hard time swallowing "the surge is working" bullshit.

So sad. Each week, another 300+or- die for this blunder...needlessly. I'm sure the chimp will go down in history as a total buffoon.

This Union, our Contract with each other, is bigger than any corrupt White House, Lobbyist, Dynasty or News Pundit

@3 Ruth:

Sadly I predict that this will be used as propaganda by the Republications in the "dead have not died in vain" mantra.

We need to train enough members of the South Vietnames army to stablize the country and be able to repel...

Oh, sorry. Wrong occupation.

When did Stephanopoulous or anyone in the MSM care about the dead Iraqis, as long as they can pay lip service to dead US troops?

Geo @ 2:

Do they count innocent dead Iraqis or Afghans? There's your answer.

Because he is incompetent!

Just like McCain is incompetent!

God bless all of our US troops and for all that they endure!

Osheroff was a truly great man. Anyone who spends over 50 years fighting against fascism, whether in Spain, WWII, Central America or Mississippi deserves a monument in his honor. I wonder how many members of the Abraham Lincoln Battalion are left?

I thought Stephanopolous looked especially disgusted after the list of military dead today.
