I just got a tip that Obama and Hillary are appearing with Stephen Cobert tonight. And for some bonus fun---John Edwards is going to show up too. It should be a very interesting show...

Bingo

Three way ticket?

Channel 249 on DirecTV. 8:30 PM Pacific.

Just when we thought things were not going to get any stranger- they could have a weinie roast and invite George and Charlie....

"I just got a tip that Obama and Hillary (and Edwards) are appearing with Stephen Cobert tonight."

Now, if only they could un-invite Stephen, it might be worth watching.

If this is some kinda "we're really good friends" stunt, I may have to swear off Colbert as well.

I somewhat supported Edwards, and before that Kucinich or Richardson until they dropped out. While I continue to think that Richardson was the most qualified candidate with the wisdom and governing experience that trumped all, I have lost faith in Edwards until he does the right thing and endorses Obama. Clinton cannot beat McCain and represents an elitist, pro-corporate wing of the Democratic party, it's that simple. Obama will not be a Godsend, but at least he represents a refreshing change from politics as usual.

Anyhooo... John Stewart is rocking it.

Let's hope Edwards gets back in the race.

What, Karl Marx no available? Left, Lefter and Leftist...

Just great. Another ten minutes wasted.

In one blog, you bitch about ABC not doing anything of substance in a debate and then you shill an appearance on The Colbert report? Exactly what kind of in-depth interview are we going to see from that overblown egotist?

In the meantime, more American soldiers and Iraqi citizens die every day.

Again, another ten minutes wasted, where the would-be rulers don't have to answer any serious questions.

'nuff said!!

Are you seriously suggesting that a comedian's show should be held to as high a journalistic standard as an ABC Presidential debate?

Either my sarcasmometer is broken or that's the dumbest thing I've heard all day.

So who's watching?

Shit, I think I killed it!

Edwards endorsement?

Edward's bit is awsome he does tonights "word".

Universal Haircare

it was a really good show.

This episode made my heart well after last night's idiocy on ABC.

Good thing Hillary didn't stay long... :D

To be fair he is a comedian. His point is not that any one candidate is better than the other, but to satire the media coverage in general.

i posted this at thinkprogress a bit ago:

excellent colbert tonight… he really pulled it off…
i don’t want to influence anyone’s perception of the show, much, so all i’ll say is
hillary did great - live, in house - a clever skit - good reception and applause…
patrick murphy was guest… obama appeared on the screen, in real time…
great bit of putting “manufactured political DISTRACTIONS on notice”… funny…

then colbert ends the show, thanking everyone, “…barack obama, hillary clinton
and benjamin franklin” (that cracked me up) …

“WE TOLD YOU HOW TO THINK - NOW GO OUT AND VOTE!”
.

oh jeez! how could i forget!
john edwards! pretty good too... i won't give it away...

like i said - colbert really pulled it off!

i. too, supported john edwards until he dropped out. however, the more i know about obama, the more i believe that he is the right man to become president.

At least half on this thread tonite are trolling.

That's great actually. Reminds them of how not one of their compadres has the imagination to combine intellect with humor. They haven't one Colbert, Stewart, Black, and many more to shine one feeble ray of humor....on anything....ever.
Instead, need to feed off the ones that can like starving children.

*sigh* sad sad.

The only ten minutes you wasted was the ten minutes it took you to post this drivel.

Btw, Colbert is ACTING like an egotist... I gather this will be news to you.

I always get a kick out of people who don't "get" Colbert.

Oh man, did Stephen put on a great show...all of the guest appearances were in great humor and taste; it was a total balm for the burns of last night's tabloid debate.

the best part is when they show an old clip of george stephanopopoplopoousolopolous saying "voters don't want to be side tracked by side issues"

I love Stephen Colbert. I liked the joke about Hillary regretting fixing the projector screen. One of the best Colbert Show ever!

Are you nuts ?

Colbert is a far right-wing religious fundamentalist extremist, aka a Republican.

He wouldn't invite far left liberals on his very serious show you know.

Pay attention will ya!

Fright wingers dont do satire.

I guess this was meant as humorous, it cannot be an attempt at serious politicking....can it?

Drat I missed it....Oh wait, I probably missed nothing. I would have hoped that Edwards, free from his race for the office and from the restraints of the DLC might have rejected the candidacy of both centrists, Obama and Clinton, but that would be way too much to hope for.....

replay tonight at 8:30pm EST on Comedy Central.

But does Colbert realize how much pain and agony he has inflicted upon Papa Bear who has gone as far as assaulting an Obama team member to try to get an interview with him, and Hillary, another person he would love to bash.

hehehe yeah like the mental midget that booked him for that big republican thing, where he totally layed into them...that was classic! I don't remember exactly what the function was called...but they did not see him coming!

Yes! That was sooooooo funny! It was a dinner given by the White House for journalists. I just loved the looks on everyone's faces when he was up there ripping all of them a new one.

I want to OWN that video..so whenever I feel down in the dumps...I can watch that and get cheered up again...
"I Am America, And So Can You" on cd works pretty good for that too...but I bet that dinner thing would just be so friggin awesome!

Great show, it was! Edwards stole the show.

Also, the dinner you're referring to was the 2006 White House Correspondent's Dinner, all available to view on youtube. Three parts for the full event, linked below. Alternatively you can find just a spliced up version in one part that focuses primarily on the Bush roasting.

Ah my apologies, links did not post with comment. The first of the three parts can be found at the below address. You can find the following parts from there.
