Protest ABC: Join us in LA Today at 4
By Julia Rosen Thursday Apr 17, 2008 1:15pm
John and Nicole have been all over ABC for their horrendous job moderating the debate between Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. It's time to take the outrage directly to ABC.
Live in the Los Angeles area? Come join the Courage Campaign in front of the ABC/Disney studios in Burbank at 4 p.m. today.
Help us pass out flag pins to ABC/Disney employees leaving their Disney corporate office and ask whether they can pass their own flag-pin litmus test: "Are you patriotic enough to wear a flag-pin?" We need to know how many people are coming, so please RSVP here.
Meet us at ABC's Disney Studios in Burbank in front of the West Alameda Gate, between S. Buena Vista and Keystone Streets. We're going to protest ABC's debate disaster and pass out flag pins to their employees until about 7 p.m.
We've got the flag pins. Now, we just need you.

Login or Register to post comments.
Well done.
Give em hell.
where are those flagpins made?
give them the 3" model
LOL - Do you expect contrition?
This is what they do - It is the job.
Are you asking for a 'do over'?
Make beleive questions for make beleive candidates in a make beleive election in a make beleive democracy.
This is FREE SPEECH as expressed by money.
Protesting ABC for this would be like protesting a dog sniffing your crotch.
TURN OFF YOUR TV'S before it makes you retarded.
the philly connection supports your endeavor, thanks for doing this~
This protest is dumb. Clinton and Obama have pretty much discussed all the issues to death by now in their previous debates. It's fine with me that they might want to focus some of the questions on the gaffes and such that now define what this election is coming to. Clinton and Obama are pretty similar on policy substance, the final verdict is going to be based on character and these gaffes and associations (as tenuous as they may be).
I'll be in Burbank in spirit! And John and Nicole take pictures! Hell, bring a video camera.
I live in NY. I have already written and emailed the network and I have every intention of stopping by their headquarters.
Me again @ 5:
nah, its not
Thanks guys!
The cops have already called. This should be fun. Don't worry we have a video camera coming. Hopefully, I will have something to show you from it.
If you can't make it, but would like to contribute to help us pay for the pins and other supplies, you can do so here. Here is the ActBlue link, if you prefer that.
Leaveus @ 4:
The energy would be better spent to work on taking the debates away from the MSM and giving it to some other independent civic organization....IMHO
Me again @ 5:
yeah. you'd like that wouldn't you. Heaven forfend that McCain have to campaign against honest debate on the war, the economy, individual rights and the overreaching of the Executive branch.
Oh wow! An action! Dang I wish I could be there. Not that I need too many compelling reasons to leave work early.
Have some fun, make some noise, remind some of their bald-faced hypocrisy!
Give them copies of Flag Etiquette too:
http://www.usa-flag-site.org/etiquette.shtml
Federal law stipulates many aspects of flag etiquette. The section of law dealing with American Flag etiquette is generally referred to as the Flag Code. Some general guidelines from the Flag Code answer many of the most common questions:
* The flag should be lighted at all times, either by sunlight or by an appropriate light source.
* The flag should be flown in fair weather, unless the flag is designed for inclement weather use.
* The flag should never be dipped to any person or thing. It is flown upside down only as a distress signal.
* The flag should not be used for any decoration in general. Bunting of blue, white and red stripes is available for these purposes. The blue stripe of the bunting should be on the top.
* The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use. Advertising signs should not be attached to the staff or halyard.
* The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, fireman, policeman and members of patriotic organizations.
* The flag should never have any mark, insignia, letter, word, number, figure, or drawing of any kind placed on it, or attached to it.
* The flag should never be used for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
* When the flag is lowered, no part of it should touch the ground or any other object; it should be received by waiting hands and arms. To store the flag it should be folded neatly and ceremoniously.
* The flag should be cleaned and mended when necessary.
* When a flag is so worn it is no longer fit to serve as a symbol of our country, it should be destroyed by burning in a dignified manner.
If you've seen the thousands of angry, mocking, and yes, BITTER remarks at the ABC site on the debates you'll understand that there are a lot more people then left-wing idealogues who are angry at the format of the Dem debate the other night....
If I was anywhere near LA, I'd join you. Go at 'em!
But protest is often a good thing in that it is always practice for ORGANIZING.
KPFK (90.7 FM) is the local very good radio station. You could with little effort get 5 or 6 mentions of this protest on the air today. 818-985-5735
There is a decent neighbour hood organization around here as well. Many are are Yahoo based groups and I would think 10 emails to thier little boards could use what organizational infristructure they have built.
This area is also LITTERED with Peice Viggilers and I would think some one who contacted some of those groups would end up getting alot of people there.
I love that you decided to use somthing so irrelivent as your manner of protest - Proving once and for all that two really dumb approches colide and it can become difficult to determine who is really the irrelivent ones...
I've made a point to not watch anything FOX for couple of years now.
Now, I need to ABC and Disney. Boycotting Disney is going to hurt my kids. I'm hoping I won't bend but to deny them a trip to Disneyland? I tried couple of times to not buy Disney but kids wants are too much to bear.
"Their Flag de-cals wont get em into heaven anymore" ...
Way to go!

napu @ 17:
Take them camping
I wish I was in LA right now give em' hell!
napu @ 17:
actually that is not accurate in the slightest.
boycotting disney will HELP your kids.
disney is bad for kids, seriously.
Samson- @ 22:
wagonjak @ 14:
I haven't seen the comment section at ABC but I do know that the entire "debate", if one wants to call it that was a complete waste of time for the candidates and the American public. I'm glad to see that people in the L.A. area are gearing up to protest.
Leaveus @ 4:
Yes but when a dog sniffs my crotch I don't feel as violated as when I saw that debate!
: )
Samson- @ 9:
Yea it is lol
PrincetonPDX @ 21:
Take a trip to Yosemite. Take a trip to Washington, Philly, Boston...see REAL sights...not sanitized corporate cotton candy.
Dammit, i work in Panorama City, im so close to Burbank. I wont get off work till about 5 but i might be able to get off an hour earlier. Ill try to be there guys.
I'll be there in spirit with you guys, and with all my patriotísmo (or patriosity, or even patri-atrocity) in place. As for the flag lapel pin, I'll be wearing mine upside down.
yes, the usa flag pin is kryptonite to every republican. its too small to hide behind.
PW @ 31:
That is brilliant...if they were not made in China I would recommend all Obama supporters to do the same!
below_me @ 32:
lol, ain't that the truth.
ROCK ON !!!
As a past organizer & participant in oh-so-many impromptu protests ..
LET ME JOIN YOU IN SPIRIT !!
[Deleted. Off topic-Sitemonitor]
Is it a coincidence this debate garnered the highest ratings? I think not. ABC was simply appealing to idiotic Americans.
Many Americans have no interest in deep discussions about the economy or Iraq. They'd much rather dig into dirt and gossip. That's about all moronic Americans can handle. Anything more complex and their chubby heads start to hurt.
Liberal AND Proud @ 29:
yes, pleez, come to philly! we'd love to have ya~
Wish I could be there. It's about time people moved away from their computers and got off their asses to confront the fascists were they live and work. Never give a fascist an even break. Find out what gated community Charlie Gibson and Georgie S live in and camp outside their homes. Be in their face 24/7. These rich wise ass celebrities have to be made to understand that if they are shills for fascism there will be a consequences. This keyboard fights fascists.
BOYCOTT! BOYCOTT! BOYCOTT!
For those of you who can't go...boycott products promoted on ABC. Boycott every product advertised during the debate, and email all of those companies telling them that you are boycotting and why!
The elitists only feel pain when it's in their wallets. Make them feel the pain.
protest at DisneyLand in Anaheim
apeman @ 2:
China...with lead paint and all!
napu @ 18:
Try reading and playing with your children. Boy, you seem shallow.
Guess what, ABC already spent the advertising dollars from the debates to produce a new sexy political insider TV show based on the sexploits of Judith Miller.
Good luck with the protest, carry a video camera and share with us please.
Harrasing the 'workers' at ABC about flag pins...
I love the desire for action and this new trend of ACTIVISIM on C&L, Lord is so past time for some organization and action.
What took so long?
In LA there are cool things and great protests going on very often and NEVER a mention here on C&L. I am confident it is the same accross this GLOBE.
But I cheer for your assent into some kind of activism.
As a 'big media' voice yourself how come there is not more COLABERATION with other alternative media like KPFK which is in your area?
I mean stories about how bad ABC blows some irrelivent story may not be as HELPFULL as some story Amy Goodman happens to be covering - Or some other kind of lieing crook, one that is not so patheticly garden viriety...Big media sucks.
It does, I beleive you have discovered a real phenomina.
What's next?
Left&Left @ 43:
No need to be rude. Anyone with children knows the drill, but I do agree...spend more time with your children out in the world...enjoy what's good and REAL.
What would be ideal is a flag pin designed with a weighted swivel such that no matter how you wore it the flag would be uside down, the international sign of distress.
ABC's "debate" was PATHETIC.
ashabot @ 48:
It wasn't a debate but rather an orchestrated hit piece with Republican talking points.
Oh, man, wish I could be there! The 2,000 mile commute is a bit much, though.
I'll donate instead.
Good luck!
Liberal AND Proud @ 40:
Hells yeah!
anon @ 41:
Not a bad idea. I wonder how much $$$ they'd lose if enough people turned out to block the entrances for a few days.
Good job,John,Michelle.I won`t make it cause I live in Cincinnati.Give `em hell for me if you would, but make it a non-violent hell
Anyway, on the love of country and flag thing, A LAPEL PIN IS NOT A FLAG,AND ANYWAY THE ONLY REASON ANYBODY WORE THEM IS TO PROVE THEY WERE A PATRIOT AFTER 9/11The Bush gang keeps wearing them so we won`t notice that they`ve shredded the Constitution, killed a bunch of innocent people, tortured and killed innocent detainees, and stole billions of dollars. They think if they make an issue of the lapel flags we`ll not notice that they are the most corrupt, ruthless administration in history.
Here`s a TPM link that shows ABC tracked the "lapel pin babe" down from a NYT article:
" Late Update: Turns out McClatchy is on this case and has plenty of details about how ABC tracked McCabe down." http://www.mcclatchydc.com/227/story/34071.html
[Deleted. Off topic-Sitemonitor]
Well, damn. I'm all the way down here in Sarasota County and don't think I can make it there by 4:00 but I'll be there in spirit.
napu @ 18:
Accusing Disney of the same fallicies as ABC News can be the same as the guilt by association that ABC News and the media has attributed to Obama and his associates.
I can't deprive my daughters of the Disney Channel, and I'll be damned if I don't tape "Grey's Anatomy" for the wife. We need to focus upon the national and especially the local advertisers for the ABC News.
Since Disney/ABC ran that horrid 'docudrama' on 9/11, I've been so upset with them. I've cancelled my Disney Visa card and sold most of my stock (I only had 11 shares) - I want to get the proxy statements so I can vote against them when needed. I was the biggest Disney fan around until then. Now, I can't stand the sight of the mouse or ABC in general.
I can't be in LA - but I'm with you in spirit. Go get them! Make them take responsibility for their foibles.
Funny thing - I don't remember that woman who asked the question about the flag pin seeing her wearing a flag pin. Anyone else?
Can we come dressed as Ariel?
What really pisses me off is that this mess followed a great Boston Legal,(the only good show on ABC) on Tuesday about the brutality of not giving people the right to die.
ABC should be commended for that episode.
All Disney/ABC needs to do to disperse the protesters is trot the Jonas Brothers out to perform for the crowd.
A quote from STEPHANOPOULOS before he drank the Kool Aid
STEPHANOPOULOS: What he's going to do in this campaign is focus on what's important to the American people, on the jobs and the education. That's what the American people care about. They want to move into the future. They don't want to be diverted by side issues, and they're not going to let the Republican attack machine divert them
<[Deleted. Off topic-Sitemonitor]
calblue @ 11:
Future debates should be on PBS and moderated by the League of Women Voters.
IgnoranceIsNotBliss @ 58:
The scary thing about that woman was her saying that policeman, fireman wear flag pins...so why doesn't Obama. Uhhh...what is she really saying or thinking? Does she now equate the flag with uniforms? Should we all be wearing uniforms? Does she understand we have a CIVILIAN government?
Why do I feel like I'm in a bad production of The Wall?
ysbaddaden @ 61:
ROFLMAO!!!!
ThunderMonkey @ 56:
bad analogy
unless you are claiming that obama's associates own him.
When can we protest lenders for the bullsh1t way they arrive at interest rates.
Prices for things like houses and cars are NOT to costly....the fuzzy math interest rates are.
George Stephanopoulos is committed to "real fights" and to focusing "on what's important to the American people." He knows the American people "want to move into the future" and "they don't want to be diverted by side issues" or let Republican attack machines distract them. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRCL217_810
ysbaddaden @ 59:
Only if you wear a bra.
Good luck, Julia and protesters. Come back and tell us how it went please.
[Deleted. Off topic-Sitemonitor]
Wouldn't an unmoderated debate be cool!
The candidates could ask unfettered questions of each other.
But this is a protest that pigs don't fly. I mean pigs don't fly and ABC is a tool of the undemocratic fource of MONEY - No amount of protest will change that.
When you can BUY ABC you can set the agenda and make up the news.
And after all the big media has done in the past 7 years...
You take exception to flag pins...
Got to love Americans~
Liberal AND Proud @ 66:
I`m sorry.I`m slow.It took me two years to find out that lLOL didn`t mean lots of luck.
Anyway,what does ROFLMAO mean?
Liberal AND Proud @ 70:

Sorry...couldn't resist.
Dr. Acula @ 64:
What about The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen?
I much prefer ROFLMMFACOTB
I called them the night of the debate.
I don't watch them anyway, since the "9/11 was Clinton's Fault" Hackumentary and even before. I'll just have to take a pass on Desperate Housewives now. That terminates our relationship completely.
Samson- @ 23:
I agree...disney sucks!
sully18 @ 74:
Don't feel bad. I ran into the same thing with the computer lingo a few years ago. At least learning computer lingo didn't take me as long as learning military slang. For the longest time, growing up around the Army I always thought "GI" stood for general intelligence. lol

"I'm not questioning your patriotism but ..."
Thank you for doing this- I wish I lived there I would be there in a heartbeat-give them hell....What an Orwellian week it started with the Crap-Passion Forum on CNN then moved on to the WORST Foxified Debate ever...Where oh where is there ANY Journalistic Integrity ??? .......oh that's right Blogatopia...and Jon Stewart and Stephen......
Boring Scott @ 90:
Yeah! As you press the pin into their flesh with enthusiasm.
liberalHUSSEINmoderation @ 92:
Now now. Remember, most of those people have no control over the behavior of their employer. You may even find that some of them are in agreement with you.
The purpose is to raise awareness and to welcome allies whereever you find them. It should not be to paint everyone with the same brush.
I must have missed the boycott of NBC after the pile-on of Hillary Clinton by both the moderator (Tim Russert) and the other SEVEN candidates!!! Apparently an EIGHT ON ONE debate is just fine as long as Mr. Obama isn't the target.
ysbaddaden @ 87:
ROFLMAO squared This link is the bomb.If Annette wore a lapel pin it would let the air out of that 50s bra.
thanks,this is de-bomb.

This is cool, but I live in NYC.
I like what #90 boring Scott says....make sure you say "I'm not questioning your patriotism, but why don't you love America enough to wear a flag?" before you give them the pin.
Hope someone's taping it....
Make sure you get MSM coverage. If someone dresses up as Mickey or Uncle Scrooge or Goofy, then surely they'll be dragged away to Never Never Land!
Brian @ 94:
Me too ..... hummmmm
Wish I could join you in Los Angeles, darn. But I'm in NYC. [By the way, NYC also has an ABC office. But I haven't heard of protest plans here?]
Please let us know how the L.A. protest goes?

Don't you people have jobs? A simple exercise of self-control would dictate that you simply choose not to watch ABC, but that would leave far too much time for otherwise productive behavior, wouldn't it?
ysbaddaden @ 79:
what took you so long yas? didnt you noticed what you pee peed with ?
napu @ 18:
Not going to Disney only helps, not hurts, your kids, IMO.
Real life ain't fantasia and giant Mice. Then, again, after we attack Iran, giant mutant mice and elephants in tutu's might be the least of our worries...
And your flag decal won"t get you into heaven anymore...

robyn williams @ 28:
Have you stopped beating your wife/husband?
Kudzu @ 103:
Actually I, and most people, have spoken out against the attacks against Hillary. And only a few months ago, Obama was just barely above Hillary in my book, based on policy issues alone. And neither was my first, second or even third choice. Even so, I defended Hillary against the GOP shills.
Not anymore, though. Not since Hillary and her fanbots have gleefully joined in with the Repug smear machine. A bigger bunch of childish cut-off-your-nose-to-spite-your-face automatons I have rarely met. And you'll notice the populace agreeing - Hillary and her fanbots are out on a scorched earth policy against the Democratic Party, and people are starting to realize this.
[Deleted. Off topic-Sitemonitor]
Otay @ 126:
My comment, by the way, is not directed towards Hillary supporters in general, but towards the scorched-earthers who have decided to join the Repug smear machine against any Dem who's not Hillary, and then accuse those of us who defended Hillary of being Hillary-haters, and finally threaten to vote for McCain if they don't get their way.
Where was this call to arms for protests when NBC's Russert and Williams did the same thing to Hillary last Fall?
I watched the debate and although the questions were asinine it was really no different than the crap we listen to everyday on the msm except that this time they were asking Obama some questions he would rather not answer instead of piling on Hillary. Obviously that is completely unacceptable and is what explains this over the top reaction. I too wonder where all this outrage is when Hillary is trashed every damn day by Timmeh, Tweety, Keith, Cafferty and all the rest. That seems perfectly acceptable and is even cheered on this blog and others.
I've been ticked off at the msm and the Democratic party for a very long time now for completely manipulating this primary to give us our "first". I will have a hard time dragging my unhappy ass out to vote for either of them in Nov. We should right now be sailing to victory with a nominee that everyone can get behind. Since we are stuck with these two it makes sense to me to go with the one most capable who knows the mechanics of how our government works and can get things done and will fight to win but Obama will probably get the nomination. Another novice that will need on the job training and I don't have as much faith that the stupid American electorate will give him a win. Once again we will get the government we deserve and that will probably be 4 years of McCrazy.
Otay @ 119
I've been here a long time and I don't recall ever seeing you defend Hillary.
"Hillary and her fanbots have gleefully joined in with the Repug Smear Machine"? WTF?
That is a talking point made up by Obama supporters and has absolutely no real basis in fact.
Frank Cocozzelli @ 118:
This protest is about the stupidity of the questions overall. I don't think it's an Barack party.
If Hillary supporters are so concerned about mistreatment, don't you think it was incumbent upon them to organise something? Ask THEM where they were.
Bluesage @119, my sentiments exactly. If it is to be another 4 years of republican misrule, then I might as well vote for Nader to help build up a viable third party.
DISGUSTING TRANSCRIPT OF WHAT HAPPENED AFTER THE CANDIDATES LEFT THE STAGE AND SIGNED AUTOGRAPHS FOR THE AUDIENCE:
CHARLES GIBSON: So, just a few moments here, uh, before we conclude the evening and ah, our Senior Political Correspondent Jake Tapper has had a very interesting vantage point watching all this, he's in Independence Hall, just up Independence Mall... Jake y,yer, your reaction?
JAKE TAPPER: Well I thought it was a very interesting night. Senator Clinton was obviously making an argument not just to the voters but to the Super Delegates that there's a lot about Senator Obama that remains... unexplored, questions about him. She raised a lot of questions about him, questions about associates of his. Senator Obama TRIED to say we need to get past this kind of politics but Clinton was fairly relentless, if not polite.
(the tone of his voice was sinister when speaking of Obama and cheerful when speaking of Clinton.)
-THIS WAS ALL SAID WHILE OBAMA AND CLINTON WERE SIGNING AUTOGRAPHS FOR THE AUDIENCE-
CHARLES GIBSON: Jake Tapper down in Independence Hall. We'll take 1 more commercial break, we'll come back and say good night...
AUDIENCE: AAAAAWWW! BOOOOOOOOO! WTF! HEY! BOOOOOOOOOO!!!
CHARLES GIBSON: Oh you could, hah hah hah.... The crowds turning on me! Hah hah hah! The crowd is turning on me, we'll be back in 1 minute.
(hands raised in the air and laughing - Stephonopolis laughing too)
-2 MINUTE COMMERCIAL BREAK -
THE END - no more mention of the events of the night.
This is reprehensible and irresponsible behavior by ABC to end this debate with snide, suspicious comments regarding Obama and "...but she was polite : )" regarding Clinton?
I threw my bowl of soup at the damn TV! (scene from Rocky)
Susan @ 131
Well, I said I would have a hard time voting for either of them but in the end I will vote Democratic because it is so important and I could not live with myself if I didn't. I'm just really concerned that Obama will not win for a myriad of reasons. I would like to see a viable third party because of crap like this but Nader will never get us there.
I think we should all head over to the lady's home in Pennsylvania who asked the ridiculously dumb question about the flag pin to Barak.....either she is the dumbest person on the planet and we should give her a group hug and pitch in for some counseling and educational benefits, or dig into her past as a neocon-cabal plant.
Bluesage @ 133:
Depending what happens with the Dem nominee - if it's Hillary, then expect Al Gore to jump in. If it's Obama and they're smearing him, expect Al Gore to jump in. Remember: Al Gore signed off on enter the race "except" if there would be a case of necessity. It may very well become that with the easy swiftboating of Hillary and her loss of integrity based on the sniper lies and the fact that people are still not totally convinced that Obama or anyone except someone almost super-human (like Al Gore) can begin to undo the severe damage done by this cadre of criminals.
Keep the faith, Dems and Indy's! We may not be stuck with Hillary or Obama in the final analysis. The dark horse in this race will be Al Gore who will win by the largest landslide in history.
This boycott sounds great. We need to continue to press Disney and ABC by boycotting their programming, their theme party, AND ALL OF THEIR ADVERTISERS. Just like the "Fox Blocker", now we need an "ABC blocker". Hit them in the only place that matters to them - their bank account!
osiris @ 135
From your keyboard to God's ear. I so wanted Al Gore to run again and really could not understand him not doing it but that is pretty selfish I guess. It would be a landslide - no question in my mind and we might actually be able to put our country right again but I have little faith this will happen. And really, who can blame him for not wanting to put himself and his family thru this?
miss_kitty @ 130:
What many Obama supporters have not understood until now is that what the mainstream press has been doing to Hillary since 1993 is what they do to all Democrats. This isn't about either Obama or Hillary but what they do to Democrats running for president! That means speaking out for either of them when the press pulls this garbage, not just when it benefits your candidate.
Bluesage @ 129:
Well that settles it, then, since you don't recall ever seeing it, and you have been tracking everything everyone ever said.
Look through these threads and the ABC comments. You will see plenty of the more extreme Hillary supporters who are glad Obama was subjected to these "vetting" questions. This infuriates me, because my point of contention is that these types of questions are completely irrelevant for any candidate, and are part of the reason why are country is in the position it is now, with the retarded cowboy in chief running things. These types of questions were used for the last twenty years to paint Dems as effete, or unpatriotic, or "anti-Christian", or what have you. And ALL Dems should be against them being used against other Dem, whether their first-choice candidate or not.
Right on you guys.
I hope anyone who can gets down there and lends some support.
Enough is enough.
Otay @ 140
You kinda made my point. Yes, look thru these threads and the reaction to ABC and you will see that the irrational support for Obama is over the top and infuriating to anyone who is looking objectively at both of these candidates and the coverage each has gotten from the msm. I think the Democrats have made a HUGE mistake in bringing it down to these two but there is no question that the MSM has been very biased toward Obama. Maybe ABC was trying to dispel that truth and they did it stupidly but the reaction is absurd. I was just listening to Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow and their bias is so absurd that I finally had to turn it off. I think they must flip a coin to see which one trashes Hillary and which one gives Obama the verbal bj every night. Unbelievable.
I think our only hope is that we work very, very hard to expand our majorities in the house and senate so that we can survive a McCrazy presidency at this point.
By over-reacting you're really doing your candidate a disservice. You're painting Obama as a wimp who can't take what's thrown at him (Hillary has taken all kinds of nastiness for years). Blue-collar Pennsylvanians will be further disgusted, as they already started to be with the "bitter" remarks.
I can't understand why they, at least Obama, agreed to debate on ABC. ABC is no different that FOX. It's a rightwing propaganda outlet just Like FOX. I can understand HRC agreeing - she's a neocon Republican in all but name. As with FOX, I wouldn't believe ABC if they told the sky is usually blue.

I don't think the reaction against the MSM is absurd at all. Considering what this MSM bias against Dems have done to us before in previous elections, and how the country has been affected as a consequence. I think RM and KO are right on.

Case in point of what I was talking about earlier.
Wow. This is incredible. As a Canadian who watches american politics out of curiosity and concern this response to a debate is so over the top it's incredible. Do you really think this effort is a good use of your protest time and energy? For god's sake, there's a f**king war on!!!!! Why don't you go to the White House instead and protest there! Go to a shelter, send a care package to a soldier's family, protest against republican cronies who may still hold blocking power even if Obama's elected. You should really get your priorities straight.
Let it go people. You're starting to look like scientologists when they are confronted by others. Everyone I've spoken to here, including my students, cannot understand the level of obsession with Obama. It reminds me of when I tried to understand the crying, screaming, hysterical girls in the front row of lip synching boy band concerts when I worked security at concerts in college. So over the top.
If one lousy debate can cost Obama the nomination, maybe he hasn't got the depth required. My friends and I would love to see something new in the White House but in that debate I had flashbacks of Kerry's disappointing performances. Hillary will not win the nomination unless you guys screw it up for Obama. I appears you have the majority of the media in america behind you so don't draw attention to the bias of two interviewers lest they look closely at the reverse.
All I can think of is the fact that 50% of americans re-elected George Bush in 2004 after he lied 1000's of your greatest gift - young, patriotic people - into the ground in IRAQ. 50% of American voters obviously cannot be trusted to have common sense. That scares the shit out of us up here and this kind of obsession by some supporters on either side only reinforces the insecurity.
Frankly anyone who can't handle the small pile of crap flung at them in that debate is too weak to be president. I'm thinking not only of the slime the republicans will throw at him, but also of the situations the new president will have to deal with in the next 8 years that will blow the lid off anyone who can't take a couple of ridiculous questions from Stephanoplous.
Please, please, get a grip!

Well said and Thank You!!
Your analogy of Scientologist and Obama supporters is spot on!! It is like half of Americans have gone completely bonkers and lost all reason. I'm not all that crazy about the extreme Hillary supporters either. For some reason Americans have lost all objectivity and common sense.
Kevin Ryan @ 147:
Do you know why these questions are asked? It is to get talking points out there and repeated, and associate the candidate with a negative emotional image. It is framing, purely and simply. No matter how the candidate answers, it makes no difference, in that the question itself poses subliminal messages in people's minds. Repeat often enough, and people will come to think of the candidate in those terms, and may not even realize why he/she thinks that way.
Does anyone really think that wearing a flag pin on the lapel will make the candidate a good president? Cause her/him to make decisions wisely? Does anyone really think that living close to someone who was a member of a radical group 40 years ago makes that person a radical? What happens is these questions start people associating the candidate (subconciously or otherwise) with being anti-American.
The Repubs understand this, which is why they come down hard on the media when they spread talking points about Repub candidates. I would think that after 20 years, the Dems would understand this too.
Otay @ 149
Kinda like Obama supporters calling Hillary Clinton a neo-con and a stealth republican over and over and over and pretty soon it's accepted as truth, right?
