Mike's Blog Roundup
Ken Silverstein: Jimmy Carter, Hamas, and the media. Welp, I've seen the results of the BUSHCO plan, and I'm not that f*cking impressed.
TBogg: Hard on the heels of fingergate, Obama now wants to eat his breakfast! Were Americans a lot smarter in 1960, or is today's press corps just a helluva lot dumber?
Informed Comment: BUSHCO pushed torture behind Joint Chiefs Myers' back
A Tiny Revolution: Ho Hum...more government lies being swallowed by America's incredibly liberal media.
The Rude Pundit: John McCain is a total d*ck
Concurring Opinions: Looks like policy at the EPA is being made on the basis of views held by less than 1/12 of the population.

oh contessa...
now, i am still waiting to hear msnbc, cnn, faux, abc, cbs, and nbc-proper to come out with a HUGE mea culpa for being the tool of the pentagon (which serves as a tool for our corporate overlords).
now that there is proof positive that the "military experts" broadcast on the msm are tools and fools, doing the bidding of the DoD and the offense industry, i am waiting for the expose on the "financial experts." here's 100 bucks that they are just as much tools of the financial industry that the "military experts" are of the war-profiteer industry.
The neocons have an incredible track record for accomplishing what they set out to do. The fact they were caught in their lies were not mistakes; that was simply the result of propaganda that ran out of steam so they invented more propaganda to take its place. All the while they were doing whatever they wanted. Not because they are so much smarter then others but because of their foreknowledge, the aforementioned stacked deck and their sheer audacity blindsiding an ignorant, uneducated and gullible public.
If you've no time to read anything else, be sure and read Informed Comment, not only today but every day.
Samson- @ 1:
98% of the mass media is owned and controlled by five warmongering, warprofiteering multinationals that essentially support the neoconservative agenda.
pissed off patricia @ 3:
PoP - I was shocked to see Juan Cole posting results from a NEWSMAX/Zogby poll.
I saw the clip about Obama and the waffle. He was very respectful to the reporter and he didn't growl about the question. He just smiled and said he wanted to eat.
Samson- @ 1:
Don't hold your breath.
Dr. Acula @ 5:
I don' know about that, but I do know that by reading Prof. Cole during this war I have learned so much. Had it not been for him I am not sure I would have had the grasp of events that I have now.
pissed off patricia @ 3:
I advise this anywhere and everywhere I can also. Professor Cole gives us a bit more than the pap delivered to us by the MSM. Thanks for mentioning it.
I apologize for posting this in two threads, but this is the more appropriate one: slacktivist on "elitism."
Rusty Shackleford the Pretentious Chatboard Elitist @ 10:
That's an outstanding piece of work.
Reuters-American arrested on charges of giving military secrets to Israel: Justice Dept. 11:16AM EDT
Again?
When will we realize these people are not our friends?
pissed off patricia @ 11:
Definitely. Fred Clark is consistently one of the very best.
Problem is Carter's trying to find a peaceful resolution .. BushCo wants no such thing .. the Israelis need to continue to abuse the Palestinians to keep the rage of the Arab masses directed at Israel instead of their own repressive regimes ..
And what about the massive transfers of wealth from the US Treasury to the Anglo-American-Isreali arms industry?
Carter's trying to ruin a well-crafted multi-purpose racket ..
L.A. Confidential @ 4:
i'll see your five and raise you one. (GE, timewarner, Newscorpse, disney, viacom, CBScorp)
and, i would argue that saying that they "essentially support the neoconservative agenda" is letting them off the hook too easily.
they support corporate imperialism, in whatever guise it presents itself. neoconservatism or neoliberalism.
they dominate the internet, cable, broadcast TV, periodicals, movie studios, amusement parks, radio, etc.
yet, NYT was still able to break the military-analyst-as-offense-industry-black-operative story.
Wet Wars
Hey everybody, I'll be hitting LA again today and getting interviewed by KTLA for the evening news. Here's some recent work:
http://freewayblogger.blogspot.com/2008/04/our-funny-president.html
Anyone hearing anything about the upcoming Aipac espionage trial coming up on April 29th. The MSM has been stone called silent about this investigation and trial (although Chris Matthews did whisper that the trial had been delayed once again a while back) Not one peep since then.
The Israeli lobby just loves when the MSM and the so called "progressive" blogosphere merge on this issue. Both media outlets know they will be attacked when they address any issues around the "lobby" or "Israel".
Anyone reading or hearing any reports?
Samson- @ 15:
While traditional conservatives welcomed neoconservatives (the guys in the WH basement) as allies in their fight against Soviet Communism and domestic liberalism, the Neocons in effect acted as a Trojan Horse within conservatism, they managed to secure dominant positions in the conservative political and intellectual movement, and as soon as they gained power they purged those traditional conservatives who opposed their agenda.” The old conservatives who invited them in the first place, were pushed out by the aggressive newcomers, and became irrelevant PalaeoCons.
Kathleen @ 18:
Google Search. Results 1 - 4 of about 5 for Aipac espionage trial.
I'm surprised that many showed up.
MountainMan23 @ 14:
And to point out the racket will only get you branded as an anti-semite.
Which is never going to happen. Concessions are exactly what the Zionists are trying to avoid.
Here ya go Kathleen:
American allegedly spied for Israel
An Army mechanical engineer has been arrested on charges that he slipped classified documents about nuclear weapons to an employee of the Israeli Consulate, federal authorities said Tuesday.

Uh-Oh! Voting machines are breaking down in PA! No paper trail?
There have always been shallow reporters, but it does seem the discourse on TV especially has taken a dive.
None of the talking heads are talking about opium production in Afghanistan and how the Taliban is flooding the globe with the stuff.
Republicans over 45 are NEVER going to get over the '60's. They were the people who supported the war, never grew their hair or wore bell-bottoms, and hated all rock music ater Rubber Soul. The problem is not that they made these choices - nothing wrong with rejecting popular culture - but that they wanted validation for their decisions. Instead the country rejected the war, grandfathers and senators grew their hair long, and the Beatles were accepted as cultural icons. They've spent 40 years trying to prove they were right - instead they have started more unwinnable wars, lost their hair (ironically growing it in order to do the combover) bankrupt the country financially and morally and stolen everything that wasn't nailed down. Oh, and they still hate rock music. I hope McCain is their last gasp.
