The Fabulous Life Of John McCain
By Logan Murphy Monday Apr 21, 2008 9:20amAs John McCain lives in the lap of luxury, the aging Senator and GOP presidential hopeful tells the American people that the problems with our economy are psychological and that all we, the unwashed masses, need to do is skip a vacation and maybe take on second job and our economy will get back on the right track. As the narrator of the video says; if John McCain can't understand our problems, how will he solve them?

shorter McCain; "Those are your problems. Get over it."
Even shorter: "Sucks to be you."
Shorter yet: yoyo (you're on your own)
McCain solution #2 : Marry rich bitch!!
Maybe he should get shoes with higher heals? How do you spell Hippo Crit?
What a delusional dickhead! The man has no clue how the middle-class lives.
Skipping a vacation is not an option for people who can't afford to take a vacation in the first place.
I cannot believe they market this corporate shill, lobbyist loving motherfucker as a "maverick" and a man of the people. Yeah. As long as those 'people' are members of his country club and make over two hundred thousand a year. Otherwise they'd better get out of his way and go get one of those 'second jobs' his highness has decreed.
Your next anointed king ladies and gents.
I feel like such a fool, because back in 2000 I actually bought the BS this guy was spewing about being different. If there is any question about this guy being a money grubbing self centered fat cat, these facts about his life should make it pretty clear. He isn't interested in becoming president to help the country, he wants to become president to help himself and his rich friends.
Pretty much the same with most politicians, in the US.
The message is great, but the shound was all screwed up. The "British" guy seemed to break in and out of accent a lot too. I think a second take with the same message and visuals is in order. Or maybe it's just my computer's emotional problems.
And I don't want to leave out that McDoubleTalk sucks double-ended dildos.
JustSickOfIt @ 9:
Don't feel bad. If he had gotten the nomination I would have voted for him too.
Hillary and her $109 million allows her to understand our problems?
I understand McCrazy is in Alabama trying to woo the African American vote. That's pretty incredible, given that this is the guy who voted against making Martin Luther King's birthday a holiday. Give it up, Johnny!
JustSickOfIt @ 9:
The John McCain running for President in 2008 isn't the same guy who was running for President in 2000. You're not a fool; even I liked him back then.
pissed off patricia @ 7:
LOL! I know. He talks about 'vacation' like it's something everyone has!! Like health care. HA!
The last 'vacation' I had was that funeral I had to attend out of town. And that a one night stay.
I suppose there is a long weekend in the summer when we stay over night at my father's camp in the country. Does that count?
BigSky @ 12:
Democrats at least pretend to care when they're screwing us. Republicans just point and laugh. Same injury - less (obvious) insult.
MargeAggedon @ 15:
My power was out for a week after a hurricane came through. It was in the 90's the whole week and like going camping but in my living room. That's the last "vacation" I had and it was three or four years ago.
I skipped vacations for seven years and the economy didn't get any better.
Memo to John McCrazy: Most companies don't let you skip vacations. If you are lucky enough to work for a company that gives you paid vacation time, you have to take it, even if it means you lie around the house watching tv. If you actually WORKED for a living Johnny, you would have known that old man.
Weaseldog @ 18:
Didn't you get the memo? You're supposed to spend all your money to stimulate the economy. If you're already spending all your money on wasteful items like bills, then you need more jobs.
Was surfing around over my morning java as usual today. CNN had an article about Hillarys use of Usama Bin Forgotten and Pearl Harbor in her new attack ads against Obama.
There was close to 230 comments in the comment thread attached to that article. Id say that 95% of the comments were deeply critical of Hillarys bullshit ,Rove style, fear mongering tactics. Nice to see the majority have woken up to this empty rhetorical crap.
CNN had closed off the comments on it already. I guess they didn't get the response they had hoped for. Id like to see CNN run the comments on their crawl all day today. Would certainly be the end of this HRC " Iron Lady" mythology bullshit.
McTurd admitted himself he doesn't know anything about economics, he married a rich woman just so he could live the high life. He is a terrible choice for president, this is something all middle class Americans need to understand.
CafeenMan @ 16:
If Hillary can't run a campaign in the black how do we expect her to run our economy any different? We'll just get more debt with her.
I would get that second job you moron but there's none of those to be had either. Only 3 help wanted ads in the paper today...2 construction and 1 truck driver. Can't do any of those. And vacation? What the hell is that?
This little coward, son of a bitch gave his vc buddys every bit of information they wanted anytime they wanted it. Goddamn Iam having a bad dream and I can't wake up. Just shows what happens when your media is owned by a few screwballs, who want to control everyone and everything. money, money, money. mccain is just the best example of how not to be a citizen of this country, greedy little fucker is a disgrace to humans everywhere!
"and that all we, the unwashed masses, need to do is skip a vacation and maybe take on second job"
In other words, the U.S. dollar is losing its purchasing power at an ever increasing rate and only the extremely wealthy like McCain view this as a mere psychological problem. They see it this way because they have more than enough money to cover those rising prices. For everyone else, its a very painful, physical problem that we have to contend with everyday. For some that I know, as soon as they get their paycheck(s) its already spent on past due bills or to pay off debt.
Oblagon @ 22:
Remember when the media beat up on Kerry because his wife was using part of her personal fortune to finance his campaign? Funny, I'm not hearing that about McCrazy.
I haven't had a vacation in 20 years! What should I skip?
McGoo was already a multi-$millionairhead long before he married the lugerhead princesspool. Most Senator politicians after 1 1/2 years of office become multi-$millionairs.
Take Kerry-like McGoo--has over$32,000,000 in military stock and married to Heinz empire. He to got rid of his wife for riches. Sad, Mr Heinz just happened to have engine plane problems and Kerry--wedding bells in mind.
Both parties stink.
Hey John, I'd get that second job, but it would mean I'd have to move to India or the Philippines. "Skip a vacation and get a second job" - John McCrazy's version of "Let them eat cake".
Eight years ago I had one job. Now I have three. I just booked a few days out of town this summer. Can anyone give me a lift?
geneHUSSEIN214 @ 27:
That's your liberal media hard at work.
VegasRage @ 23:
That's just playing gotcha. We can do that with anything. "If somebody can't [fill in the blank with anything] then how can we expect them to [fill in the blank with something remotely related]?"
I don't think there's any problem with her paying her debts.
I don't like her as a candidate and I'm not sticking up for her but that line of questioning is specious at best.
YourMom @ 28:
Do you spend money on food? Is your electric still on?
geneHUSSEIN214 @ 14:
Me three.
I guess the worldwide food shortage and the cost of oil are psychological too.
Maybe the cost of the Iraq war hasn't dented the economy.
How about a vacation stimulation package? Print some more money and use it to pay for everybody to have a vacation.
The only reason that the economy in China and other places like the Marianas is growing, is because of slave labor and free abortions. Will the real McCain be offerring free abortions next?
"the problems with our economy are psychological"
Maybe McCain is trying to kill two birds with one stone and this is his faith based economic policy? Just pray that you have enough food and it will be there! Its all in your head really!
America's economic problems are indeed psychological: The current administration doesn't have a firm grasp of reality, McCan't has got to be schizophrenic from talking out of both sides of his mouth to the extent he has, members of their media wing are pathological liars, the business world rewards the bigger CEOs and directors for behaving like sociopaths, and the voters are just plain crazy if they think any of this is beneficial to them.
decent vid. bad audio and voice acting, but still. this is the kind of stuff we need to get all over the web and eventually into the msm.
CafeenMan @ 20:
For the last 2+1/2 years, the government has been in charge of spending my money. I just made my last bankruptcy payment, last week.
Was the government unable to stimulate the economy on my behalf?
One can almost feel sorrow for this guy who is nearing a state of senility;almost, except that there is a slight possibility that he will be leading this country. Don't be mistaken, behind that cool exterior is a fierce temper. look for some time during this campaign for that temper to surface and show what is beneath that benign and tranquil surface.
Though the Repubs are pushing this as a race with polls actually showing mccain pulling even, the real races will occur in Congress. Obama will need full support to begin the clean-up. It will take years, but the need to begin is now. I think even Republicans will see the light and do the right thing in the voting booth.
obama is young and very inexperienced, but very articulate and charismatic. he will need to surround himself with strong advisers. I hope he picks well.
I don't want to get too cocky as far as the presidential race. with the damage obama and hillary have inflicted on one another, mcsame still could find a way to slip in the back door. Let's not forget it's the heartland of america that we have to deal with. And they know their strength. They are ignorant in most respects, but they know that they can swing an election and they've gotten used to crawling from beneath the rocks.
Unfortunately it will probably be President Obama in charge when the economy goes into full meltdown. Carter had a similar, but lesser, problem which led into almost 3 decades of capitalistic self-destruction.
Oh pleeease, I hope he keeps saying things like this.
Col Kilgore @ 21:
My wife was asking about Hillary's comment that she was tired, when she made a recent remark that came back to bite her.
My wife asked, if she's president, will she be too tired to wake up and answer that late night call? When she does answer, because she is so tired, will she say something she'll regret in the morning?
On my morning train commute all of the women that like Hillary have evaporated. Where is here support coming from? Are they manufactured numbers?
Hehe, yeah, manufactured numbers... right... :P
McCain telling Americans to "skip a vacation" or to "take a second job" reminds me of the scene when the first President George Bush was at a grocery store and didn't know what the scanner machine used at the check out stand was all about. Apparently, he hadn't been to a supermarket in a few decades and still thought that the "checkout lady" punched in the amount for each and every item by hand on those mechanical counting machines.
People thought George Bush II was a swell guy--great to have a beer with! McCain portrays himself as a "maverick" who is "in" with the people. It's all BS. It's probably been decades since either went to the grocery store and bought milk or pumped their own gas. I doubt that either even has a clue what a gallon of milk costs today. I can guarantee you that neither have ever tried to balance their check book, worried about how to pay bills for the month, pay for their children's needs, much less pay into those nifty savings accounts to save for college or health care.
We the tax payers have paid for McCain's health care since he's been in government and Texas tax payers paid for Bush Jr. and the general American public have been picking up the tab for the last 7.5 years and for as long as Bush Jr. lives. Yes, the American public will be covering the health care costs of multi-millionaires for life.
CafeenMan @ 16:
Under Republicans man exploits man. Under Democrats it's just the opposite.
Take on a second job? My wife and I are gathering up every skill we have in an effort to make $30 here designing someone with money's business card, or walking pets for a gas money. We are selling off every extraordinary item in our house, going down to one car for a while and staying indoors as often as possible.
How does not spending, not having money to save, and not having enough work to do stimulate the economy? I'm sure we are not by far in the worst situation out there, with so many struggling to feed their families or take a clean shower even, but its affecting everyone! And sadly, I (with no financial background or skills) can think of a few things to do to kick money back into the economy beyond petty cash checks...ahem... lift... corporate...cough... tax breaks...
how much has to be done to prove republicans honestly think the average american is lazy and simply needs to work more?
Thanks, pops, but I'm way ahead of you. I just got a second job to help my mother pay her $800/month prescription bills, and I can't remember the last time I had a vacation. Yet still the economy is in the toilet. Got any other sage advice?
Weaseldog @ 44:
If she keeps pounding down those boiler makers there could be a lot of things she says and does the night before she might not remember.
Oh, and does it count if you regularly work 50-60 hours a week at your main job, but your company doesn't pay overtime?
"All you suckers just need to marry wealthy women, like I did!"
The corruption has now become so huge, so intregal to every institution and form of business that exists we are going to be crushed under it or get rid of it and start over.
I would think a statement like this would come off rather elitist.
But maybe I'm just bitter since half my friends and neighbors in Michigan don't have a job to take a vacation from.
L.A. Confidential @ 52:
This is true, but mind boggling.
Maybe we can be just like Iraq, except with a lot more religious factions and ethnic groups.
Speaking of elitism, a great post from Fred Clark at Slacktivist today.
Might be a nice addition for the next blog round-up.
I can never get link to work here!

Something about this reminds me of Bush's comments to a woman, who was working three jobs to make ends meet, about how great and "uniquely American" that is.
http://politicalhumor.about.com/library/blbushism-uniquelyamerican.htm
Having money does not in and of itself mean that one has no empathy for the working class (FDR was wealthy), but rich Republicans view those who don't have a lot of money as losers.
Va-ca-tion? I know not of this va-ca-tion thing he keeps talking about.
McCain has worked at a feverish pace to derail all efforts by Vietnam Veteran families to open the POW/MIA files. He even killed a legislative attempt to open the files, The Truth Bill, with The McCain Bill.
See the horrendous treatment McCain has shown these families and why his reputation as a straight talker is all a big lie:

14All @ 48:
I find myself racing to the "Donut Hole" of the Senior Plan D. At that point I'll be paying retail of close to $1,000.00 for my meds. At 70 - I'm looking to rejoin the work force - if I can find someone to hire me. My niece is quitting her job - it's costing her to drive there and we're subsidizing our daughter so she can continue to make a round trip of 200 miles a day to keep hers. Do any of these guys in DC even have a clue how the middle class is living?
CG @ 60:
We all know the reason why McCrazy doesn't want those records opened. Alot of us Vietnam Vets know that McCrazys pow story isn't quite what John makes it out to be. If those records where opened McCrazy would be finished.
I guess the narrator of the video assumes that Insane McCain wants to solve our problems. Republicans profit from problems, not solutions.
> all we, the unwashed masses, need to do is skip a vacation and maybe take on second job and our economy will get back on the right track.
Well, you gotta admit that's slightly less clueless than dubya's version, i.e., "Go out and buy something."
And @ 4:
Hey, it worked for John Kerry...
What I find hilarious is that these are the same people who keep saying "America is awesome, know why? Cause we (we meaning they) like (like meaning must) working two and sometimes three jobs! 60 hour weeks! Hard working!...umm...Im sorry, Im just tired because that anti-family bitch Nancy Pelosi is making us with more than 3 days a week....$3250 a week, my ass...."
geneHUSSEIN214 @ 27:
Yep. All I hear is crickets. Whatsa matter with the liberal media anyway?
At least he didn't say: "That's uniquely American!"
That's right Lamebrain McSame --
Blame the American people for being suckers and believing in the integrity of our financial institutions.
Blame the American People for thinking the government cares enough to regulate these industries so that they don't cheat.
Blame the American people for not understanding that these people are largely criminals who cheat because the government makes it so easy - that the laws are actually set up to allow them to cheat.
Blame the American people because these criminals know that white collar crime is almost never prosecuted and even more rarely, punished.
Blame the American people because you don't come even close to knowing OR caring about the real problems the created the crisis to begin with.
You've got yours Mr. Keating Five, what do you care? Blame the American people.
*
McCain wants the elderly to pay more for their medication. While McCain receives a Social Security check he doesn't need, since he makes over $200K a year. Why doesn't he turn back the check and live off his wife's income? That's what he married her for.
Well, I'm fortunate enough that for the moment, I'm just treading water with my one job and I still get to take vacation.
But if those of us who are entitled to vacation time skipped it in order to keep the economy "moving," what exactly the fuck is our incentive, then? At some point these overstuffed jackholes who suck the very life out of our bones for their personal profit seem to think that they are simply entitled to more, more, more, and more from us while we get less, less, less, and less. Yet, we have to keep giving them tax breaks or they'll cry like babies.
Somebody needs to loop this dumb motherfucker's words and repeat them via a loudspeaker all over the entire country. Just so we can all hear what an elitist, arrogant cocksucker John McCain really is.
Hard to believe the Keating Five disaster just rolls off his back.
Uhm, no one had a problem with Kerry marrying a rich bitch.
To be fair, Obama and the Clintons are millionaires too.
McCain has all that money he should use some of it on a dentist! And get his teeth whitened!
bobaloo @ 75:
Are you kidding? Or severely memory-impaired? Or are you just being deliciously ironic?
Eight92 @ 76:
True, but unlike McCain they earned theirs by hard work.
Although I guess you could argue that it would be hard work to be married to Cindy.
McCain: "You think you have problems; I was tortured for five years and you don't hear me whining about it. Oh, wait"
CafeenMan @ 10:
Gotta lose the Brit...
Yeah but the MSM likes him and I only vote with who the MSM thinks I should have a beer with.
