Aero, defense profits buck economic downturn
No! Ya don't say!
Reverend Jeremiah Wright appeared on PBS Bill Moyers Journal on Friday night and delivered a knockout punch to the bully-boys in the corporate media. It was an impressive performance that left the political assassins over at FOX News choking on their sausage-rolls. Wright showed that he is neither a fanatic nor an “America hater”; just an extremely well-read and principled man with an unshakable commitment to justice. Wright has also paid his dues; he's an ex-Marine who served in Vietnam when most of his critics were either hiding behind their student deferments or languishing in the "Champagne Unit" of the Texas National Guard. He's earned the right to say whatever he chooses.
I wonder what would have happened to those British soldiers if John Adam's communication with them was constantly monitored...?
"Yes, there have been death threats on both myself and on Pastor Moss. And bomb threats at the church." Reverend Jeremiah Wright on the media's incitement; "Bill Moyers Journal" PBS
According to bush this morning, all our country's problems are the result of Congress not doing as told by bush and our failure to drill in ANWR.
Who didn't see this coming? Allow the gas prices to rise so high they choke the American people and then argue that if we drill in ANWR and other places in the US it will fix everything. Sen. Stevens must be jumping up and down in anticipation.
The Pentagon cannot be audited because its accounting is so screwed up.
Your link above tells the sordid tale.
From the article:
'In 2006, $258.2 billion of recorded withdrawals and payments from the Army's main account were unsupported. It's as if the Army had submitted multibillion-dollar expense reports without any receipts.'
In the 3Qs of 2007 1.1 TRILLION in accounting entries have not been properly reviewed.
We have the Pentagon waging a home base propaganda campaign to shine this pile of cow dung up mightily.
The talking heads ask about flag pins (made in China).
War is a racket.

Hold on a sec.
Didn't we invade Iraq in part to stop Saddam's 'rape rooms' that Bush has mentioned more times than Rudy mentioned "9-11" ??
I guess we just wanted to install OUR rape rooms.
L.A. Confidential @ 8:
Well, actually, I was referring to the soldiers on trial for the Boston Massacre who John Adams defended as their lawyer. If the brand-new US Government had monitored his communication with them, they probably would have been hanged in a farce trial and a grave miscarriage of justice would have occurred

Well I believe the only way we are going to emerge from the SHIT is to innovate, act, and get with it at this point.
The past is the past, there are lessons to learn, but it is NOT going to change the here and now, the present course of decline and apathy.
A Soros quote from the link above:
So the idea that somehow in the second half of this year the economy is going to improve I find totally unbelievable.
Check out John McCain's flip flop on Iraq:

Of course all the news channels covered bush's remarks this morning but none of them are covering Sen Schumer's and others remarks and comments on what the president said. This sort of one sided coverage is so frustrating.
OH so all bush can say is.......IT IS THE DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS'S FAULT. Nevermind the billions and billions of taxpayer money that has gone to fight his war, that would be better spent to have helped the American public. Nevermind the billions of dollars wasted in outrageous contracts to "republican" friends and relatives.
I guess this guy must be the person with the biggest balls in the country, cause it sure took a lot to tell us that.
pissed off patricia @ 6:
Bush scolding anyone on the economy is like Ted Bundy holding foreplay classes. President Shit For Brains looks dumber by the day. Must be the weight of thousands of lies and the burden of the blood of thousands of innocents on his hands.
Maybe Warpig will find his "magic wand" right next to the WMDs.
pissed off patricia @ 6:
Oh, and according to Condi today, biofuel production may be helping to spur high food prices.
Betcha probably thought it was the falling dollar, rising oil prices and food distribution.
pissed off patricia @ 6:
Bush's arguments never make any sense. Even if they started drilling in ANWR today it would possibly be years before that crude oil came online and even then it would have to be transported to a refining facility which are already operating at max capacity. Bush can make those comments but it will change nothing. From what I gather, imports into the United States of finished gasoline products from other nations is on the rise which indicates to me that there is a severe lack of refining capablities in the United States.
L.A. Confidential @ 5:
And a Hillary supporter working for the media organized a disastrous Wright news conference. No conflict of interest there, and Wright's statements were so "helpful" to Obama's campaign that Obama may have to denounce him.
Joe O. @ 21:
I might also add that there is that big find in the gulf of Mexico that everyone was cheering about. Yet, no one seems to be interested in that find which includes bush, why? I'd say the reason for that is because the technology does not exist to get it yet. From a rough estimate that find is below 7,000 feet of water and another mile or two below the earth at the bottom of the Gulf's floor. Maybe they could put in a huge straw?
Joe O. @ 21:
I don't think a new oil refinery has come online in approximately 30 years. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
Dr. Acula @ 24:
From my understanding, you are correct.

And when they've done all they can do in Alaska shrub will turn to piggy harper and say "Hey fellow american-ish political hack who was elected with GOP money, why don't you tell your people that we need canadia's oil too. K?" and that's exactly what will happen.
There are already regular disputes about the slowly melting northern water ways. Shrub co. is trying to claim ownership.
It's going to get extremely ugly before it ever gets any better.
pissed off patricia @ 6:
Bush chides Congress for lack of action
Of course it's not his fault!
He's the Comander In Chief - he's been busy commandering!
MargeAggedon @ 26:
Lets hope Harper is but a faint memory by then Marge. Gee , why wont he call an election anyways ? Perhaps he knows hes gonna have his ass handed to him ?
Some really troubling news in this roundup.
Col Kilgore @ 28:
Canadian neoconartists are waiting for a manufactured scandal, just like the last time, so they can spread it all over the news 24/7 and remind people how "honest" they are by comparison to their opposition. The sad, sick thing is that there are people dumb enough to swallow it. But I think they're having a LOT more trouble this time especially with having to protect that douche bag mulroney from the comeuppance he desperately deserves. People can't wait to get rid of them. Especially since harper wants us to be the the war president's little cannon fodder factory. Just keep throwing those soldiers at Afganistan until shrub says stop.
