To understand the whole picture

The Fellowship was founded in the 1930s as an anti-union, anti-socialist, and pro-fascist business group that cleverly used prayer breakfasts as a cover for their tax-free political activities.

They didnt go away..

The Fellowship operates a retreat center in Arlington, Va. Called "The Cedars," it was purchased in 1978 through donations from, among others, Tom Phillips, CEO of arms manufacturer Raytheon; and Ken Olsen of Digital Equipment Corporation.

Perpetual war - mission accomplished.

Today is off to a good start, Home Depot is closing 15 stores around the country. Thousands are going to be unemployed and gas is going through the roof! Good times for all.

The best thing to have occurred during the Bush administration is something that did not happen. We did not privatize Social Security.
Had we done so, boomers facing retirement over the next few years would be even worse off than they are today. Now they’re struggling with pension plans worth less than they counted on, and home values that are tanking. At least they can rely on a monthly Social Security check.

On the face of it this may be true, but it's not like the money was set aside. It's all been spent, a steal-as-you-go scheme. All we have is an IOU from a bankrupt government.

I assume that Crackpot Press deal is supposed to be funny. The LSD as weapon thing happened during the Eisenhower administration, not the Ford administration. Cheney and Rummy are evil enough. You don't have to make stuff up about them.

I suppose we should all drop a tab today in memoriam of Albert Hoffman!
If only I knew where to find them!

LA, not good ... This Fellowship

Also Remembering... Watergate.
The aftermath had an effect on mainstream Republicans, many of whom went down to defeat in the 1974 elections. But Watergate permitted a new breed of crooks.... those of the right-wing fundamentalist Christian variety.

The Fellowship = War and Profiteering and Killing under the guise of "prayer breakfasts"

The people hopefully someday will understand.
Country over party, People over profits.

LSD was one weapon that backfired on the MIC. If they had used it on our enemy's they wouldn't have any enemy's.

Very clever indeed.

Why is this so clever? There are countless conservative, liberal and non-ideological groups, many of them NPO, which gather around a common understanding and try to exert their influence in various ways.

The Fellowship is incorporated in the United States as a tax-free 501(c)(3) organization operating under the name The Fellowship Foundation. While they conduct no fundraising operations, they reported revenues of more than $12 million in 2003 from donations. Its mission statement is:

"To develop and maintain an informal association of people banded together, to go out as "ambassadors of reconciliation," modeling the principles of Jesus, based on loving God and loving others. To work with the leaders of other nations, and as their hearts are touched, the poor, the oppressed, the widows and the youth of their country will be impacted in a positive manner. Youth groups will be developed under the thoughts of Jesus, including loving others as you want to be loved."

While The Fellowship, which strives to be "invisible," has received some media attention for allegedly having behind-the-scenes influence over political leaders, the allegations have never been proven.

Such freedom of assembly is guaranteed by our Constitution. It's easy to make these fallacious claims about "Christian front groups" operating illegally or immorally when enough people on a website want to believe in such conspiracies, but proving the allegations by actually bringing to bear logic, reason, verifiable facts and critical thinking is entirely another matter. :)

hillary clinton and the fellowship:

When Clinton first came to Washington in 1993, one of her first steps was to join a Bible study group. For the next eight years, she regularly met with a Christian "cell" whose members included Susan Baker, wife of Bush consigliere James Baker; Joanne Kemp, wife of conservative icon Jack Kemp; Eileen Bakke, wife of Dennis Bakke, a leader in the anti-union Christian management movement; and Grace Nelson, the wife of Senator Bill Nelson, a conservative Florida Democrat.

Clinton's prayer group was part of the Fellowship (or "the Family"), a network of sex-segregated cells of political, business, and military leaders dedicated to "spiritual war" on behalf of Christ, many of them recruited at the Fellowship's only public event, the annual National Prayer Breakfast. (Aside from the breakfast, the group has "made a fetish of being invisible," former Republican Senator William Armstrong has said.) The Fellowship believes that the elite win power by the will of God, who uses them for his purposes. Its mission is to help the powerful understand their role in God's plan.

yet the msm insists on talking about the powerless rev wright... when, instead, we should be talking about the real political and business influence of this far right "christian" group, the fellowship, that supports genocide, dictators and anti-democracy movements worldwide. the one the clinton considers her type of religious organization

the fellowship's web site might not be the best place to get a real, unbiased, assessment of their organization. (obviously)

in fact, their mission statement is so orwellian it is laughable. they supported suharto. any claims of "modeling the principles of Jesus, based on loving God and loving others" is pure propaganda on their part.

So, lemme get this straight..

Repugnants want the gov to demand photo id when casting a vote in order to prevent "voter fraud", but they vehemently oppose a paper trail that would verify every vote and make recounts accurate.

Sounds back-asswards and hypocritical. But then again, it's the Republ--ans at work so, 'nuff said.

The Founders constitutionally separated Church and State for a reason.

One only has to look at what is really happening in Colorado on bases.

Make no mistake..
The crooks have infiltrated ... even the churches.

one must have an open mind.

especially the ones who still support lying, profiteering, killing, bloodshed and torture...
All of which this president and his "followers" promotes

Make no mistake..
We are living the effects of The Corruption of Politics and Religion

The only problem with that is the YMCA, YWCA, and even local university SMU all started out as religious organizations before turning more secular.

However, this could prove to be Hillary's Skull and Bones.

But Ann Coulter's the subject of another thread.

The main thing... keep an open mind
...be on the look out for all the crooks.

History has already established...bad people have deceived many and have infiltrated "the good" organizations
Its not a conspiracy theory.

Look at how the American Legion has been used and abused throughout History.

Keep exposing and speaking and thinking..
