They wouldn't really remake 'Red Dawn', would they?
...and to play us out of here, Was Not Was has returned from the dead, and sounds poppin' fresh. Ciao.

Since I know nothing of the Swift take site, is he teasing or serious?

Sen. Biden's wise words WSJ article , sadly Bushco and McCainco are will be deaf to reality, reason and common sense.
and of course Bushco family and friends companies.
pissed off patricia @ 2:
Think of him as the "Stephen Colbert of blogs". ;)
Glad to see Swift is back. He's been gone for several months, and I was getting worried.
Yesterday while Senators Clinton and Obama were on the senate floor voting, Senator McCain was out fund raising. Then he has the nerve to criticize Senator Obama for the way he voted. Senator McCain couldn't even be bothered to show up.
Bush gave a speech this morning encouraging free trade and fussing that the congress should make the tax cuts permanent. As far as I could tell it was only covered live and in full by c-span. I guess even Fox has decided he isn't worth listening to.

POP, you may have to reboot your sarcasm detector.
Wasn't Red Dawn the one where teenage girls were shown going to high school classes in bikinis?
And of course the new 'Red Dawn' if its made for the GoOPer teenygopper market would have hordes of throat slitting muslims/canadians/mexicans/europeans invading and stealing the Goopers precious gasoline and Hummers and McReagan's jelly beans.
Blue Taliban Osama Buddha @ 6:
That's what I thought but ya just never know. I bet if we look around the inter-tubes long enough we could find a similar post by someone who believes Obama really should drop out of the race.

It was plugged in and the red light was on but I wasn't sure if it was a malfunction or not.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY!
If only we could find that elusive thing called 'INTEGRITY' in our government.
Remaking Red Dawn is perverse. Hollywood has officially run out of ideas.
pissed off patricia @ 13:
lol. Update the drivers then reboot. You should be ok. :)
Zenrage @ 10:
that was the bait that tempted them to invade... all part of the cunning GOP plan.
fall of conservatism? hmmm... that does not compute. in fact, i would argue that there is a new conservative resurgence, as seen in the ron paul supporters.
i think it would be more apt to say the fall of neoliberalism. and neoconservatism. both are means to continuing our imperial ambitions, and both are controlled by corporate needs and direction.
i think that real conservatives and the left have A LOT more in common than neoliberals and neoconservatives. unfortunately a lot of partisanship gets in the way.
Dr. (Bitter Hussein) Matt @ 15:
Just put "Reality Show" in front of it and watch as Americans will FLOCK to it like flies on shit.
Dr. (Bitter Hussein) Matt @ 16:
Thats how they reboot the typical 'lights on nobody home' Republican,
they bash them over the head with a bible once a week in the vain hope something might stick. ;)
ferrofluid @ 17:
Big deal.
Fox 'News Bunnies' wear even LESS !.
Just think of it, the network that brought us "Married with Children", "In Living Color" and "the Simpsons" is the 'Family Values Network" !!
Bwahahahahahaha !!

it sure is important to keep the soldiers in the service for further exploitation, isn't it?
and why should we have 'free' trade with country that kill union leaders and organizers?
-snarkoff-
Dr. (Bitter Hussein) Matt @ 15:
be vewy afwaid!
Remake Red Dawn eh? If you polish a turd it's still a turd.
Chico Hussein @ 19:
So how come theres no 'reality Iraq war' on the TV 24/7 or at least in the evenings to go with the evening meal,
complete with all the wonderful drama / death destruction that the reality crowd like in their fiction programs ?
Seeing all those HV/ tanks/ APCs and gunfights and towns cities being flattened should ramp up the ratings big time.
All we see on the history channel is fictional future weapons and golly gosh isnt uber tech wonderful type programs,
stuff that the army cant afford in real life, and if it was used would bring in more cries of genocide and war crimes.
Chico Hussein @ 21:
'Married with Children' is a documentary sad but true... I stand by that ;)

they will first attack Oregon, since it's an Obama stronghold, then IOWA.
hey Nymex light crude just dropped one whole dollar to 131, Yippie the recession is over we all can breathe again.

so my guess is that we are the chosen ones.
Four buck a gallon gas is here and bush says we have hit a "rough spot" in our economy. Does he know about economics or what? For people who have lost their homes and can barely afford gas for their car, I would imagine they are using other words to describe their economic condition.
U.S. sees record decline in miles driven
As gas prices pile up record after record, Americans are taking to the road in significantly fewer numbers.
The Federal Highway Administration is reporting this morning that we drove 11 billion fewer miles in March than we did the same month a year ago. It was the biggest decline in miles driven since the agency started tracking the information in 1942.
Hey no problem suckers. We'll just jack up the price of Gas to $8 a gal. Hell, why not $10!!!!
pissed off patricia @ 31:
Rough Spot? Economic Genocide is more like it.
L.A. Confidential @ 32:
I say go for the gold: $50/gallon.
It's all clear to me now:
There was never a "War on Terror". It's always been a "War on Low Oil Prices."
If you watched those CEO snakes on C-Span earlier this week, you were left with the impression that they are helping America by reducing consumption.
That would be fine if the profits went back to the taxpayers or to the country, but it doesn't. It goes to the oil companies.
Some enterprising republican ought to figure out how to charge us for the oxygen we breathe. It's free right now, but why should it be free when there is profit to be made?
I am looking at the WSJ Nymex charts, to my untutored eye it appears that somebody is playing the market and capping prices,
theres periods across multiple update periods that are flat, so that suggests somebody is fixing the market.
So much for Republican 'free markets' and letting things work themselves out.
Zelma Henderson, Who Aided Desegregation, Dies at 88
By MARGALIT FOX
Published: May 22, 2008
Zelma Henderson, a Kansas beautician who was the sole surviving plaintiff in Brown v. Board of Education of Topeka, the landmark federal desegregation case of 1954, died on Tuesday in Topeka. She was 88 and had lived in Topeka all her adult life.
The cause was pancreatic cancer, her son, Donald, said.
The Brown case, which began as a Kansas class-action suit in 1951, was known formally as Oliver L. Brown et al. v. the Board of Education of Topeka et al. Mrs. Henderson was the last of the “et al.” on the complainants’ side in the original case. In the decades since, she appeared often at events commemorating the decision and was widely interviewed in the news media.
Considered one of the United States Supreme Court’s most seminal decisions, Brown outlawed segregation in the nation’s public schools. A cornerstone of the emerging civil rights movement, it paved the way for the Civil Rights Act of 1964, which outlawed segregation in other public facilities.

"Free markets" are simply free to be manipulated.
The World Trade Organization is the Globalists' weapon of choice.

Assuming its some Federal official or gov type adjusting the taps on the Federal oil reserve, is this legal ?
Does government exist to play and micromanage the free markets ! definitely non classical Republican or everything they ever claimed to be.
Yay! Swift is back! Nice other picks, as well.

How about a remake of Rambo
Starring Elmer Fudd?
At least when Hollyweird remade "On The Beach", it was a plausible notion that the US and China would have a nuclear war instead of the Soviets.
But Iran or any islamic country invading the US? The idiots proposing that idiocy have less of a grip on reality than they do on their gentials, and they're trying to pull a fast one on us.
By comparison, the upcoming remake of "The Stepfather" would be worth watching....
Play us out ?
What does to play us out mean ? What does that mean - to play us out ?
There's no words there!
My 8 and 12 year olds saw 'Red Dawn' on the teevee a few months ago. Even my eight year old mentioned that people fight back when they are invaded, "like in Iraq".
My kids did ask me why the kids didn't call their parents on cell phones....
Btw Mike, here's some breaking news: enough supers AND pledged delegates are flipping,/a> to stop the silliness and assure Obama the nomination in the next few days. My guess is they'll time it so he'll go over the top on May 31st or June 3rd, to settle things once and for all.
Mrs.* Belle: Many thanks for help spreading The Word by including me in your roundup. It is an especial honor to be listed alongside a fellow conservative like Jon Swift -- such august company. Praise Him!
