Open Thread: It's Larry Craig "Bobblefoot" Day!

You've all heard of the classic "bobblehead doll." Well a minor league baseball team in Minnesota is paying homage to Senator Larry Craig by offering the first 2500 fans attending Sunday's game a "bobblefoot doll." Awesome.  (h/t Scarce)

This thread is open for business.

It might be a long night.

I know C&L is trying to stay out of the Democratic nomination fight but why on earth are you guys not even mentioning the RFK reference yet you have an article about Hillary being VP??

I think we're expecting a few casual references the RFK thing tonight.

Why were the comments shut down on the Hillary story? If you don't want free comments, don't post the article. I feel as though you are censoring us by not allowing us to put our two cents worth in.

["The Hillary Story" as you call it was not about her comment. We did not post an article about the comment, then close it. We posted an article about something else and commenters were off topic and abusive to the site and John. We take a lot of static, be we won't stand for that. Your criticism is off base-Sitemonitor]

At this point her chance of being VP IS dead.

(And before anyone asks or assumes, I am a DEMOCRATIC supporter... whoever that may be. With that remark tonight... she lost my support.)

You know, I'm half tempted to watch FOX Noise to see how the mongrels are spinning the latest faux pas.

Hey Ron, ya phat baddy ;-}

There is always so much going on at St. Paul Saints games that you hardly know there is baseball being played. I wonder if they sent a bobblehead to wide-stance Larry in Idaho?

Too aerodynamic for me.

Hillary apologizes for spitting on RFK's grave. What bugs me most is she brought it up while his brother just got out of the hospital for a terminal illness. Can sunscreen hurt

Trying to skip that anger stage and go straight to bargaining? If only denial could be crossed first. Unfortunately, in Hillary-math all three stages are played simultaneously and the fourth is always... just... out... of... reach.

I am not a one issue voter. This is the first time i have heard of him saying that.

My desire for Iraq is not that we get up and leave.

I want us to hire the Iraqi's to rebuild their country, prosecute Haliburton and Blackwater and put them out of business. Iraq needs massive direct aid and will need it for years. If we have to stay top make that happen then so be it.

To stay and wage war i am oppossed to. If the choice is only to continue the war and leave then i want us out.

I just don't happen to think those are our only two options.

Right. agreed. But why has he been so consiliatory to Obama. Surely Obama has some skeletons he knows about. Yet he remains silent on them. Or maybe " very quiet on them". When ewas the last time you heard KO say anything negative about Obama?

When he supported Hillary and when the media created the frenzied "controversy" about Jeremiah Wright, Keith gave Obama the 3rd degree about the GD America comments.
That's when.

BULLSHIT! Not gonna buy that one EZPZ. It took him weeks to question The Wright thing. And he never did question Obama on . I never heard that, OH Yeah I heard that, then, Nope I never heard that. Then He disowns the guy.

This has to be the funniest thing that I have seen in some time.

Hey folks, all this fratricide is getting old. I have skipped over half this thread in trying to catch up anyway.

But I wanted to share something you guys might find interesting, on a right wing website there is a smear attempt by some rightwing frontgroup that gets a veteran to say on camera that he is upset that Obama wont come visit him in Iraq. Baghdad Johnny seems to think one angle he has on Obama is he likes to visit and take strolls with Sen. Graham, hand in hand, through markets looking for designer rugs.

Anyway, I totally beat down their thread, and its so easy to just argue with facts. Even when the temptation to beat someone down with insults is more appealing.

Like Obama, I'm gonna try and always take the high road, its always best, on the internet and in person

And I went and forgot the link.

The newspaper has already come out to say that Hillary's statement was fine, but rabid obamaholics and dipstix like KO (especially) couldn't wait to start the vile spew. Even RFK, Jr. said he did not take offense to what Hillary said. She even apologized so as to quell the faux outrage. I know C&L is trying to stay out of the Democratic nomination fight but why on earth are you guys not even mentioning the RFK reference yet you have an article about Hillary being VP??

That may kill her chance of being VP.

Here's a thought, you might actually want to read the entire article or better yet, watch the video. She's strong, a fierce fighter and her opponent's followers can keep up the shit, but it makes them look small and their messiah even smaller.

I have both read the article and watched the video and what she said was just plain STUPID. Her reasoning for staying in the campaign is because the nomination process takes time and incidents happen in June. Fine, I can accept that. But you don't site one of your examples as being an assassination. Not in this politically charged environment. PERIOD. It's a moronic thing to say and now I certainly don't want someone that STUPID to be president. This country has enough problems with moronic presidents as it is...

Anyone that appreciates Our Own painful History and is sensitive to our Own History as a Nation dealing with tragic violent Loss of Greatness KNOWS that this is Something that is NOT said while we have a Tense Election Process ongoing...especially when we have the First Black Candidate, who has protection due to such threats... and one that has been openly compared to RFK and embraced by the Kennedys for all that he shows in potential and Hope...What she did was and is Unforgiveable..Keith Said what needed to be Said....

It is Time for the Pantsuited Princess to go home...she lacks judegement and is not Presidential...she is arrogant and ignorant. And her apology was pathetic. Mr.Brinkley said it best on Countdown- it is time for an Intervention and for Someone to help her to Exit.

She also just blew her opportunity to even be considered VP....there is no greatness there...as a woman I am ashamed of her antics and lack of sensitivity.

Right. agreed. But why has he been so consiliatory to Obama. Surely Obama has some skeletons he knows about. Yet he remains silent on them. Or maybe " very quiet on them". When ewas the last time you heard KO say anything negative about Obama?

Faux has been trying to find skeletons forever and they can't find them so they try to create some. Why should KO do Faux's dirty work?

Obama gets a bigger majority against McCain in Cali than Hillary.
Gay people might have to worry about opposition to gay marriage at the polls.

Keith O really tore Hillary a new one in tonight's "Special Comment". Usually C&L has those posted right away, what's holding this one up?? Just askin'

good point.

I take that back, He attacked Bill Clinton to the tune of over 200 shows over the Lewinski thing. He should be impartial and just report the facts. I gave up on the MSN, you'll never get any truth out of them. But KO, I expect impartiality and no bias.

KO didn't have his show during the Lweinski thing. I believe he was still a sportscaster then. I think you have him confused with someone else.
KO's five year anniversary was in March.

Ya know, you're right. But I remember KO say he has done over 200 stories on Lewinski.
oh well, wth. I think you get my point.

I showed my dad this, and now we have something to do on Sunday!

I Expect KO to be Unbiased, Accurate and Impartial. He's not that way anymore.

Calling someone out for being wrong (to put it mildly) is not being biased.
I commend Keith for equal opportunity special comments.

Obama seems to have avoided foot in mouth disease!

"Obama: Rush Limbaugh, Lou Dobbs Responsible For Rise In Hate Crimes Against Hispanics." Huff Post

This guy just can't keep from running his big mouth.

What a maroon.

Well, I am a Hispanic American and the rhetoric Dobbs and Limbaugh spew out on a daily basis certainly doesn't help. Anti-Hispanic sentiment is at an all time high and Dobbs loves to proclaim that illegal immigration is the source of all our problems. Unfortunately some people can be quite moronic so resentment spills out.

while i agree that el druggo is an absolute racist, i disagree that dobbs is.
illegal immigration hurts all americans, including those of hispanic decent.

i think lou has pointed that out on numerous occasions.

he also points out the war of the corporatists against the middle class...something that el druggo scoffs at

You may be right. Rightwingnut radio doesn't help the situation. But neither does boiling it all down to talk show hosts on a really complex issue like this.

"A certain segment has basically been feeding a kind of xenophobia. There's a reason why hate crimes against Hispanic people doubled last year," Obama said. "If you have people like Lou Dobbs and Rush Limbaugh ginning things up, it's not surprising that would happen."

Why are these two idiots even mentioned in the conversation? Maybe he read the Media Matters report and went off script.
This seems to be Obama's Achilles heal. Like the "bitter" comments. He's evidently not very good when he's ad libbing.

Jeez. Is he going to blow this "sure thing"? Ugh.
