Trotta's comment is reprehensible by any measure. If I'm not mistaken, presidential candidates are afforded Secret Service protection. If what amounts to a death threat is made against a candidate, isn't the Service REQUIRED to investigate the matter? And if (since the candidate is not a sitting president) the Service is not REQUIRED to investigate, wouldn't it be standard protocol to make a formal inquiry in any case? So? When will the Secret Service agents be visiting Trotta at her residence? And when will they be visiting Fox studios? I'm quite serious about this.

Even more frightening to me than what she said is that she appears blithely oblivious to the incredible hypocrisy of her (rightfully) slamming HRC for her comment while making the remark she did about Obama right in the middle of that criticism. If she were aware of it there's no hint of that in her face or voice; either way it's alarming. It's also a perfect example of how the demagogues who make up, it would appear, a large percentage of the chattering class steamroll right over these kinds of glaring self-contradictions in hammering their talking points home.
This is absolutely disgusting and inexcusable. But I will wager any amount of money that Hillary and her campaign think that this incident will take the pressure off of her for making the original assassination remarks, but she is deluding herself once more. I have a feeling that this will be as big news as Hillary's gaffe (I REALLY hope KO discusses it with Maddow on the next Countdown!) and every time the FauxNews story is talked about, the original Hillary remark will be referenced, and this will NOT be good for Hillary. It will just keep the story alive as if it had happened in the last 5 minutes. Although I think that Hillary did not mean that Obama should be assassinated, Trotta practically wished for it (especially since she laughed after her words) and now both are going to suffer for their stupidity, and rightly so. People, flooding the Secret Service with complaints is a *BAD* idea. A *VERY* bad idea. They are not a political branch of government, and they are not to be abused in this manner to make an example out of someone, no matter how despicable their comments may be. Unless you honestly think Liz Trotta herself is going to pick up a rifle, and have evidence of this, *DO NOT* spam the Secret Service tip line. I'm certain the Secret Service has already received thousands of calls about her remarks, and they will investigate if they feel it necessary.
The real danger is that this convinces some wacko that "even FOX News agrees, I need to kill him." Hopefully, this wacko will mention this aloud, and someone will overhear and inform the Secret Service. Flooding the tip line with useless "tips" about Liz Trotta's remarks just adds noise to the real signals.
To the person above that complained about being hung up on: that was exactly what they should have done, since you are tying up phone lines while providing them no new or useful information. Feel free to register your outrage to FOX or their sponsors, but the Secret Service tip line is not the place to do it.

She apologized....made an excuse...we won't forget so quickly....and anyway....she'll be out of the race soon enough, I guess.....but FOX channel is not going away ! and they will not apologize! I hope that this the American people at large demand a public full apology from FOX. That lady pretty much said, "We'd like to kill Obama and Osama." Let's make McCain apologize for what FOX said. the talk radio monopoly makes this kind of 'journalism' acceptable in the rest of the media. it's good that it gets publicity when said on fox but fox is mostly visual whipped cream for the turd pies of lies and swiftboating that the talk radio monopoly throws around the country every day and gets to repeat over and over all day long.
i wonder if fox's advertisers care for this kind of discussion around their products. "buy a XXX, we believe in assassinating presidential candidates."
