By SilentPatriot Tuesday May 27, 2008 11:00am
Stephen Colbert is livid that the liberal media forced John McCain to reject the endorsement of mainstream pastors John Hagee and Rod Parsley.

"McCain courted Hagee's endorsements not because he believed what Hagee believed, but because he believe something much more important: It would get him votes. It's called faith."

Stephen, you are the reason I don't Pull an Ophiliea and go cackling in the woods.
P.D. @ 1:
He's also the reason you don't run into me out there in the woods doing the same thing.
I totally heart Colbert.
Stephen, you do your alma mater proud. We love you here at NU!
Did any of you see him interview that Family Research douchewad?
Holy crap it was awesome. He made him look like a tool.
Patricia, I'm pretty close to a meltdown. But, what the hell, at least some Americans are waking up from the self-induced coma they forced themselves into. When you paying a fortune for gas and food, You have to wake up and forget about the so-called moral issues(abortion and gay rights) and realize your survival is on the line.
mrplow, that was James Dobson. The most hysterical neo-right-wing fanatic around. But don't worry. He's almost at the point of no power. Couldn't happen to a nicer homo-phob Hypocritical blow-hard.
The real Colbert must have been pissed about what Hagee said about Catholics.
For those that don't know the real Colbert is not only Catholic but he teaches Sunday School sometimes.
mrplow @ 4:
He WAS a tool. Stephen nailed him like, oh I don't know, five times. The guy was a total loser.
P.D. @ 5:
The way you phrased your post it sounds like you're saying that homosexuality is morally questionable.
Stephen Colbert is our national treasure.
P.D. @ 6:
Holy shit! How did I miss his name? I was doing too much other shit at the time I guess.
I guess that speaks well of me that I didn't even know what that fucktard looks like.
I thought Dobson was "Focus on the Family." Didn't this guy say "Family Research Council?"
Though I'm sure he'd run both.
Biff, Homosexual behavior isn't a moral issue to me. But to the Dobsons and the Larry Craigs of the world it is. I, quite frankly give a crap about anybody's sexual preferences. I'm a live and let live kind of gal.
I think the funniest part is that about %70 of the Republican Fascists don't get the humor and think he is with them.
Sorry P.D., that was Tony Perkins, not Dobson. Same shit, different pile......

NoNeedForAName @ 14:
Ah, that's why his name didn't ring a bell. Never heard of that douche.
I'm sorry guys. I got the religious whack-jobs mixed up. Holy crap, so many right-wingers, so little time.
NoNeedForAName @ 14:
Yep. Both right-wing theocrats.
CD @ 7:
What ?
the "real" Colbert ?
Whatchutalkin'boutwillis ?
McSame wants to bring up 'pastor' issues like Rev Wright ?
We say ...
Be careful what you wish for.
Bring it on !
NoNeedForAName @ 14:
They are both jerks.
I'll give Dobson this though; while I might find him to be a jerk he's not a fraud like Robertson.
Dobson really does believe in his (misguided) moral.
Biff @ 9:
She called it a "so-called" moral issue. I think you 2 are saying the same thing.
[Deleted. We're not having this argument here rain. You are quite wrong about homosexuality-Sitemonitor]
rain @ 22:
*looks up, shakes fist*
RAAAAAAIIIINNNNN!!!!!!!!!!
[You win the dance-off by default, Samson-Sitemonitor]
colbert is priceless!
that cannot be overstated.
Why don't we all forgo MSM and rely on Colbert on Stewart? Between Hillary and Obama and the other crap they call news I have pretty much given up on MSM.
rain @ 22:
Choose Life, not War.
RayC @ 13:
Most Republican Fascists aren't mentally sophisticated enough to understand Cobert's rather blatant parody and sarcasm.
If something requires some actually thinking to understand, a Neocon usually waits until their appointed master tells them what their opinion of the issue should be, or they try to find the 'answer' in a bible.
The worse thing that the left can do is let this and McCain's lobbyist ties die. I mean Olberman uncovered another one last night but no one is playing it yet in the MSM. If the right is going to make this a character contest by bringing up Wright and Rezko, then the left has to counter with Hagee, Parsley, Falwell, lobbyist and the S&L scandal.
If we have learned anything over the last 8 years, it's that you have to bring a machine gun to a knife fight against the Republicans.
WHEN WILL YOU PINKO LIBERAL GAYS WAKE UP AND SMELL THE TELEVISION.
COLBERT IS ONE OF THE SHARPEST CONSERVATIVE MINDS OF OUR TIME...
NONE OF THAT 2-FEET PLANTED IN MID-AIR FOR THE BIG COLBERT !!!
YOU TELL'EM STEVIE BOY.... LIBERALS IS GOING TO HELL!!!
P.D. @ 25:
That's pretty much what I do. It's the only way to get news without puking. Or throwing large hard objects at my TV.
mrplow @ 4:
I saw that - the look on Perkins face when he said "you can't marry your cousin" and Colbert said "I can - I am from South (or) North Carolina" was priceless.
Big Dick Cheney @ 29:
Nice try. Your spelling and grammar is is too good for a redstate. :)
Numinous @ 27:
Right on. Remember how the bugman (Delay) seemed pretty comfortable when he was on the show, and I swear that it looks like Delay thinks Colbert is one of them.
Look it up here at the C&L archives.
The whore of Babylon is not a person or the devil. A church is not in its self the whore of Babylon. The whore is what you would call an institution, separate from God, of an idea or concept about God. Like a whore it gives the elution of love and yet there is none. All that visit will need to return again for they have been tricked into thinking that they have been filled. The words of the whore are as a beast that will drag its victims back. Escape becomes impossible for the victim has not the strength to do so and must return. Mankind has come to this thinking it is salvation.
then again, who really cares
