Jon Stewart & Co. do a compare and contrast of the speeches given by the presumptive nominees Tuesday night, and guess who came up lacking?

so what he can communicate well......you don't need that to run a democracy
McBush is a stroke just waiting to happen. I suggest 25 or 50 debates with this warmed over corpse. He can't even control his voluntary muscular actions.
It's going to get pretty surreal from here on out. One thing about BO it is refreshing to hear someone who can speak for an extended period of time without completely mangling the English Language.
Rove and Hannity will hold the stiff up and speak for him........50% of the population will never know
Being able to speak is not a requirement but from experience, I think America needs to hear something intelligible.
Grampa McBush's "smile" makes the baby Jesus cry!
Dropping By @ 5:
After 8 years of "I'm gonna' put food on your family" I agree.
karl @ 1:
What democracy are you referring too? Besides, I guess you
are happy with the W Bush years & want to keep the good
times rolling with McCain. Good luck. :-)
karl @ 4:
Weekend at Johnny's
Ratface @ 8:
nope democrat that didn't vote for bush against the war before others were for it...sorry for the sarcasm
L.A. Confidential @ 3:
And someone who doesn't smirk when talking about serious subjects.
They'd better because Hume and Wallace are to busy snickering.
MaudeLebowski @ 11:
no kidding i can't stand that.......a child like defensive mechanism
I love McSame's yellow toothed grin. He looks so proud of himself....just like a child giving up diapers and using the potty for the first time.
Of course, those diapers would come in handy for McSame. I'm guessing that corpse has lost the ability to control his bodily functions.
Was maverick geezer smiling or was that rigor mortis setting in?
karl @ 1:
Not so sure about this. A lack of coherent communication implies a lack of coherent thought and a lack of coherent thought implies . . well, you get the picture.
Here's the tale of two McCains, that is, before and after he won the Republican nomination.
Frederick @ 12:
these two are top candidates the come with shit already on their noses
Mick Fowler @ 15:
The smile was weird, almost like it was being triggered remotely. He looked like one of those old animatronic figures at Disneyland.
McCain's makeup was done by an undertaker.
MaudeLebowski @ 11:
It's going to take some getting used to. Bush fatigue is nasty stuff. Even the strongest willed individual's have to resist with unflinching determination to prevent their brains from turning into mush-jello just listening to the guy.
John McCain transforming himself to an inspired speaker in 5 months WILL NEVER HAPPEN.
Game Set Match
L.A. Confidential @ 21:
I remember yelling at the TV quite a lot during the Bush/Kerry debates, and it wasn't at John.
You left out the best part of the video, that being Hillary just before
where you did pick it up. It (whole segment) can be seen here:
http://www.comedycentral.com/videos/index.jhtml?videoId=171106
I usually think Stephen Colbert is funnier, and has better writers, but
not this time!
I guess the "affable fool" persona doesn't work any longer?
McCain is a shell of a man. He is barely more defined than protoplasm!
MaudeLebowski @ 23:
I stopped watching Bush a couple months after he got in. The wave of nausea that hit me was to much.
Chuck U @ 22:
Wait till we bomb Iran. McCain will win big time then.
The American press will follow along just like last time.
Wars are just a big ratings gift to them.
If I were a bettin' man. . .
L.A. Confidential @ 26:
Every once in a while ya need to take a look at the stupidity just to remind yourself what you're really working to prevent in the next cycle :)
Hmmm....I smell a Terrorist Alert coming soon.....
apeman @ 20:
could possibly a small non talking part in the new batman movie
Rusty Shackleford @ 19:
Did anyone notice if there was a rectangular lump on his back?
karl @ 1:
The USA is not a democracy. It's a constitutional federal republic.
Just sayin'.
karl @ 31:
Or maybe a part in "Spawn 2"
BeeSting @ 32:
o i'm down with that republic people chose officials to represent them......i think i not to smart but i try
Barack Obama VS John MC Cain and right wing smear machine, pentagon propaganda,Joe Lieberman, intolerance, bought and paid for media, diehard Hillbots, racism , military industrial complex, Diebold, gun nuts and ignorance.
Going to be an uphill battle but i think hes up to it. Unless they can dig up some more shit on him or fabricate something believable for the sheeples. Hillary fans need to get over it and get behind the party. Its imperative to win both the WH and bullshit proof majorities in the House and Senate to get anything meaningful done and wind down the occupation of Iraq.
McCain Engages in Appeasement … of Hillary and Her Base!
Thank goodness. We finally have an english speaking president.
Green background make John mad!!!
"Fox News bashed a Republican and praised a Democrat. This truly is an historic occasion."
LMFAO
McCain's smile is just creepy. It's not the teeth, it's the rest of the face. He's never smiled like that until recently. It seems so forced and unnatural.
karl @ 1:
Right on. A successful democracy is based on listening to no one but yourself (bush), and communicating nothing to anyone. How's that bin workin' for ya?
Edwin Hussein @ 42:
It looks like you were joking. Hard to tell sometimes.
McIcky, just looked very ICKY and creepy. (It's cuz he is icky.) Even Fux can't get behind it.
Let's see..."He doesn't trust the public to make the right decision so he wants the government to make the decisions for us???" Isn't that kind of what GWBush and company did? I mean they couldn't talk strait to us about why we were invading Iraq, they lied through their teeth to get most Americans on their disaster-bound bandwagon! Damn, McCain cant even get it straight about who really did that.
At least Obama talks to us like we are adults!
Billy @ 24:
Good to link to the source. Their site gave me trouble, so I went to youtube for that. Heh-heh!
Listening to the Republicans on Fox and the other two networks publically complain about their own candidate was a surprise.
But guess which Democrat thought that was the greatest McCain speech... ever?!
I'm not kidding ...it was Harold Ford Jr.
Yep the fearlessly timid new head of the DLC, -(is anyone but him, Bayh and Carper even in the DLC anymore?) is now a featured regular 'insider' on MSNBC and routinely throws out these little tidbits of bullshittery.
Thank your cookies the Day of the Moderates is over,
Eddie Izzard explains our stark choices with:
http://gopnot4me.blogspot.com/2008/06/obama-vs-mccain-cake-or-death-eddi...
It's an easy choice, McCainocrats;
Cake or Death?
I bet McCain's aftershave smells like formaldehyde.
his speech that night made me ill
he thought he was clever with his little punchline, but he sounded like an ass
karl @ 4:
Ain't that the freakin' truth?
If the people in this country actually new what the hell was going on, the repukes would have about 8 senate seats, a couple of dozen house seats, and they wouldn't have a prayer of ever winning the White House.
The republican party fluorishes on ignorance and stupidity.
When did mcinsane develope the Joker mouth?
There you have it Hillarites.
Isn't that special?? It's like lolling you to sleep when you listen to McCain.
Imagine listening to that for four years?
Shouldn't this be filed under "The Daily Show/Jon Stewart" rather than "Uncategorized"?
Hilarious Jon!
hazmaq @ 46:
Yes, been covered already. Ford is trying to be a younger version of Joe Lieberman
Obama can't talk without a telepromter
Phyl @ 56:
And you can't spell for shit. How do you know? Are you there watching? Have you watched Bush? He can't talk WITH a teleprompter. What's your point, Phyl? McTrolling? Trying to rack up enough points for a T shirt? Or a bobble head doll?
[Deleted. Off topic-Sitemonitor]
Phyl @ 56:
McShrub can't even stand up without leaning on something. Ever seen an interview with Obama? He gives thoughtful, intelligent answers that show a remarkable knowledge of the nuances entailed in the job he seeks.
McShrub can't put two words together even with a teleprompter and has about as much finesse a Dick Cheney with a hangover.
[Oooh. You wound me to the quick. Not-Sitemonitor]
woodguy @ 59:
miss_kitty apologises for misunderstanding what you wrote last night.
miss_kitty @ 61:
miss kitty's apologies are warmly accepted and deeply appreciated. Left a note for you at the original site, also.
My sincere thanks and admiration to someone who is big enough to admit a mistake.
Be well and keep on posting.
Attila the Appeaser @ 39:
Jihad John.
McCain looks like a ghoul with that smile and closed eyes - the equivalent of Katherine Harris doing her 85 year old cheerleader routine. Man that's creepy. Whovever is McCain's drama coach needs to be put up against the wall and taught a lesson, in true Republican fascist tradition.
Did anybody noticed the supremely ironic moment of transferrance, when McCain said, "He doesn't trust us to make decisions for ourselves, he wants the government to make them for us, and that's not....."? That statment could keep PhD candidates in psychology busy writing theses for a couple of generations.
woodguy @ 59:
Or boosh with a pretzel.
Jeffrey Davis @ 48:
Don'tcha mean embalming fluid?
Are you any relation to Jefferson Davis?
This is like shooting ducks in a barrel. Really old ducks with creepy smiles.
I think McCain should have put on diapers pefore the speech.
It´s hard to smile and act real when you have liquid shit in your shoe.
Kassu from finland
karl @ 4:
I think I smell a sequel to "Weekend at Bernie's"...
Phyl @ 56:
I've seen him in "town-hall" style meetings & he seems pretty comfortable speaking off the cuff. Where did you get the idea that he needs a TelePrompter ?
shutterbug98 @ 70:
That's the Reich Wing spin that's been circulating on the talk shows. Apparrently Obama is some Madison Ave creation that can't speak without a telepropter or his prepared notes. Anyone who has seen him address an audience knows this is a lie. The Wingnuts are going out of their minds right now trying to create "their" version of Obama the way they did with Gore and Kerry, but so far, nothing been working for them.
I really am afraid that BushCo has a plan to invade Iran, etc. in order to throw things McCain's way. My happiness over Obama as president is mixed with a good deal of fear. We know what these old-white-guys-in-power are capable of doing.
You have to remember, the look left, right, and grin is the outward signs of an inner turmoil, starting five years ago when George Bush said "Hah - Dick said if I put that pod on your back, you'd do anything I said. Don't fight it John - Colin Powell's even lets him enjoy himself when he's not at the U.N."
Last night some power demon was going "The host still resists master, his will is still strong, and I can only control so many. Not the pain stick master, not my fault that the McClellan was not brought under us - we needed to make Hillary fight on and destroy the party . . . So many minds fighting master, please no more pain stick Master Cheney . . ."
(Didn't post to balloon juice and I'm posting it *somewhere* dammit!)
Hey, don't leave this in "Uncategorized"! I won't be able to ever find it again!
