McCain Showcases His Foreign Policy Expertise

...By telling a crowd that he's super qualified to be President due to his extensive foreign policy experience dealing with Vladimir Putin...the President of Germany.

At least the background he stood in front of wasn't lime green, right?

Hey, Obama can be ahead on points, winning the first seven rounds on points, but I'd rather see him land a knockout in the 8th than see McCain bounce back and land a haymaker in the 11th or 12th round. That said, I think Obama should watch for an opportune momment, rather than tapping all of his energy throwing a million unadvisable little jabs, or a big overhand left that might leave him open.

It is funny that no one demands to know what Cheney decided upon or discussed at his energy summit. Who attended this meeting? What did the attendees discuss? It sure is funny how all of the oil guys got so rich after Cheney’s energy summit. What gives?
Are the high gas prices the result of Cheney organizing the energy executives to drive up oil and get rich? Bushco had an energy plan. Are the high prices the result of this plan? Demand to see the minutes of Cheney’s energy meeting!

I agree with your sentiments. However, given the Oval Office Orangutan's apparent ignorance of all things foreign was indeed genuine ignorance of all things foreign ("I thought they were all Muslim."), we need to document these gaffs.

If McCain keeps this up, if these kinds of gaffs are routine, it is worth examining whether there is something more to them than understandable slips of the tongue. It worries me that he seems not to know the difference between al Qaida, Wahhabi, Sunni and Shiite. The "gaff" Traitor Joe Lie-to-Dems corrected could indicate something very serious.

On its own, as an isolated event, calling Putin the president of Germany might not even evince feebleness of mind, even in someone McCain's age. If he keeps this up, though, I will be glad to have a record of it in cyberspace.

Obviously McCain knows that Putin is president of Russia. What's going on here is not ignorance, but dementia. Specifically, he has a form of frontotemporal dementia called Primary Progressive Aphasia. This is what's causing him to pull the wrong words out of the databank -- veto every beer, etc. It's also why it's difficult for him to read the teleprompter. It will progress slowly and may not become much more noticeable before December. On the other hand, other symptoms may become more evident. These often include personality changes, and compromised executive function, i.e. the ability to plan and organize goal-oriented activities. There's a chance he won't be the Republican nominee in November.

You guys know that the debates are going to be like watching Muhammad Ali box an 8 year old girl right?

Doesn't matter. Remember Shrub flubbing, smirking and sweating his way through both the Gore (2000) and Kerry (2004) debates? The MSM will focus on Obama's appearance or other non-issues while ignoring any mistakes McCain might make (come to think of it, did anyone hear about this Germany/Putin gaffe 4 months ago?).

Maldoror @ 93:

McCain is like a gunman headed into a kindergarten.

There is ABSOLUTELY no excuse not to stop him!

he's proof that some people hate this country and are willing to destroy it for a few more dollars.

So Romney or more likely Huckabee in november. McCain will be replaced at the RNC convention in Sept.

You guys have to cut this out! Any more of these taunts and they may smarten up and recall the old buzzard before he's even the candidate. Then they will someone whose young AND evil.

I fear this as well.

What ever happened to the impartial League of Women Voters holding debates? Is the debate schedule all locked up and corporately-backed yet?

Isn't Leo Gorcey the President of Japan?

OY.

Not bad for guy who finished 394 out of 398 in his high school class.

So McCain releases his medical report which is 1000 pages long. a fucking 1000 pages long and he's in excellent health? Unfortunately or fortunately there is no mental health info in these reports. We have extensive mental health testing for astronauts and intelligence agents but none for presidents? Just think if we had a test that determined GWB had certain sociopathic tendencies......how many lives saved???

Cmon. Bush labelled Greeks 'Grecians' and HE still got voted for. Bush didn't know which cutlery to use when visiting the Queen of England and still wasn't considered a goose by the general public. At least McSame hasn't tried to shoulder rub Putin like Bush did with Merkel!

I'm not sure that Americans are ready to vote for an African-American for President. God help us all if this arsehole McCain gets in

McCain is Bush with Alzheimer's Disease.

"I’m not sure that Americans are ready to vote for an African-American for President. God help us all if this arsehole McCain gets in"

They may not get the chance. There are literally millions of people in this country who would resort to violence to prevent a black man from occupying the WH.

This is not a joke anymore. He has Alzheimer's disease.

Dude, This asshole McCain has bee a maroon for a very long time. Had he not been the son and grandson of admirals, there is scant chance he would have been admitted to the U.S. Naval Academy. Given his behavior patterns and academics, had he not been the son and grandson of admirals, there is little doubt he would have been thrown out. Instead, in 1958 he managed to graduate 894 out of 899.

Oh boy, you can't even come up with a good butchered argument about McCain still thinking the the Berlin Wall is up, or something. He's seriously going to need to change his name now to MrCane.

Obviously McCain knows that Putin is president of Russia.

lol, McCain got the country and person wrong.
Dmitry Medvedev is Russia's President, he likes Deep Purple and Pink Floyd.
'Vlad' Putin will be Prime Minister.
Link for McSame http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/europe/7136556.stm

The phone is ringing in the White House at 3am and the President of Russia is calling...
McCain answers: "Medvedev who? from where? I'm sorry you have the wrong number, goodbye"
America say hello to mushroom clouds.

Reading this blog, I've laughed more than watching Jon Stewart. I'll bet that all of his writers are volunteering for the Obama campaign. If McCane gets elected, Comedy Central won't need them. McBush will write his own jokes at our expense.

How long do we think it will be until the repube spin machine starts playing these things off as some endearing grandfatherly attribute we should all embrace and fine charming. you know, like the way bush can't spreak the english language ans we are to believe this make him more of a "regular guy".

McCain is just demonstrating that he is not an elitist. i.e. He is thick as a brick and therefore more 'electable' than Obama. In America, this could well be a winning strategy.

Great- his base is composed of the guy who held up the sign that said "we're not morans" and hyper-racists who think Obama's a Moslem because Klannity said so.

What's the big deal? All those countries are just past & future enemies!

Someone should tell him that Orwell's novel 1984 is a book, not a newspaper article or an instructional guide.
