Go Home

Al Franken's U.S. Senate campaign has released a new ad, hitting Minnesota GOP incumbent, Norm Coleman on the need to invest in America again, and calling him out for his claims that he was right to support the debacle in Iraq, and that he would do so again, even knowing what he knows now:

"Coleman said earlier today that he was not wrong to support the war in Iraq, given what he knew at the time. Nor did he believe that support was wrong knowing what he knows now."

We released a YouTube video today highlighting Norm's admission that, knowing what he knows now, he still would have voted to go to war in Iraq."

Visit Al's campaign website and show him some love.

Gosh I love that guy. I'm more excited about him in the Senate than I am about Obama in the White House. Dear God, *two* intelligent and thoughtful people running for office in the same year? Kill me now, life can't get any better than this.

Give me a break. In Minnesota polls are showing Al running a weak second to Norm if Jesse Ventura gets in the race. After the DFL convention the party regulars are trying to draft the former Attorney General Mike Cerisi to get Al out. This translates into very little popular support for Al. Much like when Jesse ran for governor, all Al has going for him is his name recognition.

Ah, them's just numbers Certain Truth. Franken's neo-McGovernites and out-of-state contributors have "belief" going for them.

The nice thing about the internet age is that I can do a quick grep and compile of all the reasons I've given over the last couple years why Franken is a poor choice for a politician and dump an "I told you so" in November for whatever subsequent value it might have.

And this week's: Remember, the GOP convention is in St. Paul. You think Coleman won't be given a highly visible place of honor in front of the camera? Advertising _and_ publicity. The Frankenites keep telling us Coleman is so "weak". I don't think so and the polls you mention don't show it. And, sadly, Franken has his own image weaknesses.

Al Franken's book "TheTruth with Jokes" is turning into prophesy! Al has: God, Guts, Get up and Go, and Gratitude.

When the press fails, all we have left is satire to tell us the truth. T'was always thus, and always thus will be.

$25 bucks to Franken, comin' right up...

Franken just lost me when he has to qualify his call for American withdrawal from Iraq.
It has to be "responsible".
That's what Bush is saying as well.

I'm for immediate withdrawal.
The way Kucinich articulated it.
No problem.

franken will not win. i just spent the weekend with two lesbian friends from St. Paul who say he doesn't have a chance. If they don't think he has a chance he probably doesn't
