Sunday Morning Bobblehead Thread

Fleetwood Mac - Little Lies from the Tango in the Night album
It's Sunday morning, so it's time for those little lies to come out. Meet the Press is pre-empted for Wimbledon coverage, but with that exception, it looks like the same lying liars out in force, including everyone's favorite neocon apologist in Democratic er, Independent clothing, Holy Joe Lieberman on This Week and Lindsay Graham on Face The Nation. We're also going to be subject to some of the self-reverential navel gazing the media loves to do with a "media panel" on FoxNews Sunday (I guess that's a kind way of referring to Bill Kristol and Mara Liasson) and a 10 year retrospective on Late Edition. Slim pickings, I'd say.
ABC's "This Week" - Independent Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut; Sen. Jack Reed, D-R.I.; Bob Barr, Libertarian presidential candidate.
CBS' "Face the Nation" - Sens. John Kerry, D-Mass., and Lindsay Graham, R-S.C.
CNN's "Late Edition" - Retrospective on the show's 10th anniversary.
"Fox News Sunday" - Media panel.
"Chris Matthews Show" - Panel: Katty Kay, David Gregory, Gloria Borger, David Brooks. Topics: Will Hillary's troops climb aboard the Obama bandwagon? What should Obama look for in a running mate? Can McCain escape the bad economy by warning that Obama will raise taxes? YES: 5 NO: 7 Will Hillary get on board convincingly for Obama? YES: 9 No: 3
So what's catching your eye this morning?

Can someone smarter than me please tell me why every Sunday we have to have Joe lieberman's opinion of the weeks news? Is he a paid commentator? Does he have some special insight into the events of the week that qualifies him for what seems to be a permanent position. Oh, I know, it is because he is the voice of the moderate American, right? Moderates must be in keeping with all the middle people in this country so there fore, since most people think they are moderate in temperament and in politics they must all be in agreement with him. joe lieberman; voice of a nation.... of fucktards.
Fucktards? Now now, your temperament is anything but moderate. You just give credence to the claim of shrill bloggers. To achieve respect and credibility, you must, in a monotone voice with subtle facial expressions, declare whom we should bomb tomorrow.
Liberals Ask Obama: Are We ‘Stuck in the Middle With You?’

On Mathews what a crock.
The surge is working.
At what cost? Lives? Injuries? Money?
Sure it is we have armed the whole country.
It's under gang control.
Who's left in Iraq? Are they safe in the streets.
Is the Iraq Gov. stepping up to the plate. Exit strategy?
McCain can reach across the Isle.
That was then. Today he doesn't even support his own compromises.
"I am of the opinion that one person who says the truth is more powerful than an entire humanity who believes in a lie."

Good Morning Everyone!
I think I'll pass on watching the talking heads today. Just have zero interest in any of them right now. I know the drill ahead of time. They will be either praising McCain or pissing on Obama.
I think the press actually believes that Lieberman is an independent. What a joke!
ABC’s “This Week” - Independent Sen. Joe Lieberman of Connecticut
Israeli citizen, Sen Joseph Lieberman, of the Lieberman for Lieberman Party, to discuss the merits of using US assets to murder innocent civilians based on willfully fraudulent claims.
Whats caught my eye? If I watched TV I guess it would be the Farm Report, as the above line-up is making me nauseous without even seeing it.
Same bunch of creeps who make a living one way or another as our "leaders".
Pretty sad.
God, I hate listening to Joe Lieberman's idiotic talking points! Just hate it. Lindsay Graham sounds kind of gay, not that there is anything wrong with it. I am stuck with AOL on my new computer, they have a straw poll of McBush winning all 50 states. Yet they also have the following poll. Wal Mart American are such idiots.
Is the country heading in the right direction?
No 90% 12,327
Yes 10% 1,364
When is Lindsay Graham going to come out of the closet?
Liberman's authoritarian attitude is such a crock. The media treats him as though he is some wise sage with all the answers. I call bs on that.
9/11: Controlled demo @ 10:
Not until someone opens the door for him.
The Fox Panel starts with Obama and the "out of Iraq" issue. Flip-flop?
Barnes: Obama was "wrong about the Surge", so now he's responding to the "reality on the ground".
Kristol: Obama's position on Iraq is in response to "how radical the Democrats position (on Iraq) has been."
Juan Williams: "Who would of thought Obama would legitimize George Bush's policy on Iraq?"
Mugsy @ 13:
Wow, hell of a stretch there, Mr. Juan Williams.
Another week, another surge "success" story or a hundred on the corporate media...why it's so successful, the US troops are already streaming home by the thousands...NOT
"Thomas the Tank." Hey, gotta love public broadcasting.
Barnes believe Bush may hand Obama "the greatest gift any President can hand his successor... an Iraq where violence is down and more stable where Obama CAN start pulling out troops without serious consequences."
Post American @ 9:
I honestly thought you were joking, so I visited the site -- for the first time in years -- and voted for Obama so i could see the results. It's amazing! AOL's clientele must be the same old buggers who use Medicare and collect Social Security while voting against Liberal policies that created Medicare and Social Security. There's no other explanation -- unless Rove and Blackwell and Diebold are somehow involved in the process.
Kristol: "Republicans are worried... VERY worried... about the McCain campaign."
The Fox Panel seems to have all but written off McCain winning.
I just finished listening to Joe Lieberman on ABC with G. Stephanopoulis..and Lieberman was lying about Iraq...he was saying 'Shiite and Sunni living in peace' now in Iraq because the Surge is Working..and get this..he said that the Iraqi economy is booming. Then he went to praise his buddy McCain as the one 'ready from day one'.... ' using Hillary Clinton's words '..
You can sense that Lieberman wants a war with Iran...also from day one of McWar presidency.
Kristol says that he "spoke to somebody on the inside of the Obama campaign" right at the end of the Primaries, and Obama said he wasn't interested in Hillary as his VP, saying (thinking of Bill) "three Presidents is two too many."
We have over 500 representatives in Congress and we get the same people week after week. I can't even look at Lieberman without getting sick. And Kerry versus Graham with another tired argument filled with unchallenged lies.
Are we sure that the Chris Matthews show isn't a repeat? Clinton dropped out of the race a month ago.
Next week I fully expect to see: Kerry and Lieberman discuss Reaganomics - Does trickle down economics really work?
Graham discusses the DNA tests on the Lewinsky dress.
And on Chris Matthews: Lincoln's assassination - Did the Secret Service and Ford Theatre security teams fail? And how long did it really take for doctors to arrive on the scene?
Wow. Just Wow.
WASHINGTON — Americans like to wear their patriotism on their sleeve — and their lapels.
As the Fourth of July approaches, six in 10 of those surveyed in a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll say sporting an American flag pin indicates that a person is patriotic, one of a half-dozen actions that most say reflect a love of country.

People really are dumb animals.
Hume: A new report on political progress in Iraq reports "satisfactory progress" has been made on 15 of 18 benchmarks.
It's clear at this point that if Obama gets out of Iraq, it will only be due to "George Bush and the progress Iraq is now making" towards a safer, more secure Iraq that is making political gains.
whats the big surprise here on obama and iraq? when the primaries first started obama told a news person that he might still have troops in iraq by the end of his first term, guess you never bothered to listen, so then clinton says she will get the troops out in sixteen months, so then obama says he will get the troops out in sixteen months too, so obama won the primaries, so now hes moveing back to well ill talk to the generals in iraq and we shall see, wise up hes not going to withdrawl from iraq especially if iraqs oil fields are given to american oil companys , and he has said hes going to insert any troops taken out of iraq into the meat grinder in afganistan, this guys bought and paid for ,the corporations own his butt, hes sold us out on fisa , the patriot act, roe v wade , no investigations into wrong doing by the bush administration, you wanted change? and your willing to assume you will be able to change his mind on all the things hes selling us out on, i never saw so many people willing to let this guy sell you down the river , hes supporters make excusses for his moveing right of center , its like asking the hangman on the gallows if he will allow you to place the rope around your neck before the trapdoor drops and your feet are flailing around searching for something to stand on , now when are they going to have a sunday talk show that shows the truth!
Democrats and reporters need to ask people like Lieberman,Graham and McCain ..
Why are we atill having all these troops in Iraq without any significant reduction if Iraq is stablilized, things are so great and Surge is working....?
Why are we still spending more billions of dollars on this war?
Mugsy @ 25:
That's what democrats do best, take all the credit for the genius of the goopers...just ask them.
Holy Joe is beating the Iran war drums hard for somebody else's kids to fight.
George Stephanopolis is getting upset that Barr may take votes from ABC's candidate McCain.
Interesting that they have Lieberman, plus a Democrat, and Bob Barr for balance in disucssion. Wouldn't that sort of make Lieberman the Republican voice? Oh, silly me. I thought he caucassed with the Dems. I can't wait until the next Congress is seated and they throw this guy's crap out on the lawn. He can retrieve it and move it over to the second string offices that the Republicans will be occupying for the next four years.
And to think that this jerk was once our VP nominee.
POP @5
Joe isn't an independent, he's an Independent-DEMOCRAT! The MSM gives themselves two points for that one.
They think they are speaking to the "moderate american," while also giving voice to a "Democrat." Sort of the "everyman's" politician in their convoluted, clueless, corporate way of thinking. Plus he supports McInsane! What could possibly be more perfect a symbol for the fascist owners of corporate america's MSM? An "Independent-Democrat" who supports Bush/McInsane!
They really do think we are that stupid! And for those of us who aren't, they just don't give a shit!
They must be taken down! Fairness Doctrine anyone?
Graham says the Iranians "seem hellbent on obtaining a nuclear weapon".
What evidence does he have of that???
Graham repeated the "30 released prisoners went back to fight" lie.
No one ever challenges them on that.
VotingVet @ 18,
As depressing as it is, the "Amerikun people's" really is that fucking stupid!
Every poll has at least 80% of the respondents saying the country is "seriously" screwed over. (Wrong direction)
Over 70% say Iraq is a disaster and we should leave.
Over 70% think Bush is a disaster and blame his policies for our dire situtation.
And finally, over 42% support McSame in all of these polls.
Unfreakin' believable!!!!!
And folks wonder how we got a vapid, incurious, coke-snorting drunkard, trust-fund failure, who is a border-line-moron as president?
While I've thought it often, I've never "publicly" (online) spoke of the possibility of an attack after the election, as in '93 and '01.
Apparently, Joe has no such filter.
But explain to me how electing McCain would make than any less likely than if Obama were elected?
What the hell is wrong with Lindsey Graham? Honest to Christ! Those are some tired ass talking points. Obama is in a box, Obama is in a box. The Military Government Media "LIED" to start a lost war of conquest in Iraq. Why aren't they all "brought to justice" for war crimes against humanity, what happened to the rule of law. The Military is broken, the Govenrment is bankrupt, the petro dollar has collapsed, the economy is in depression, the constitution is trashed, the environment is out of control, oh yeah vote for McCain! USA! USA! USA!
Since I despise talking head shows, the thing catching my eye this morning is the Giants - Dodgers game at noon. We split the first two games, and can take the series with a win today.
BEAT L.A.!
Memo to Major League Baseball: The stupid navy blue caps with the team logo done in a flag motif are stupid. Baseball fans are smart enough to figure out that it's the 4th of July weekend without your help.
ThisWeek: First time since the war (in Iraq) began, "no combat-related deaths"?
I had to turn off--Chris Matthews Show.4 shamelees panelist really stunk.McCain McCain good, Obama Obama Flip Flopper. These shills need Flomax--.
Mc Cain killed 167 navy men and almost lost a battleship and he is the prefect man... Yaah! like sink America deeper than Bush has .Turn it Off! All Chris Bullsh!t
Enuff with being polite...can Barack please release Randi Rhodes or, her nemesis, Ed Schultz out there to handle these talking points spewed by Holy Joe and the rest of the Grand Old Pedophiles.
I cannot stand to see another polite, limp-wristed Dem looking like a weenie on the f'ing teevee.
Maddow is great and the Young Turk(s) are solid, but let's get out our barking bulldogs out there and keep the smart and nuanced ones dry for now.
Obama/Wexler08
re: Lieberman
I've had enough of him..I can't even listen to his voice anymore..
that endless whining drone...... why he isn't denounced by the Dems
is a strange thing mystifyin'
if he's re-elected again then the people
of Connecticut are idiots......
If the Dems don't put him out to pasture for the remainder
of this year.. The Dems are idiots.
and Stephanopoulis..... he must have middle school kids writing his
questions for him
Oh, there are political news programs on this morning?
I was too busy watching the Tour de France on Versus.
I'm gonna go out on a limb here and guess I didnt miss a damn thing on the news shows.
I heard on CBS Radio national news a little while ago that Lieberman had been heckled coming out of a TV studio -- I guess that must've been ABC's "This Week."
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Someone heckled Old Joe and the national news is telling all.
43 Big E
We already know where Stephanopoulis gets his material - Ins-Hannity.
If Hannity is the dumbest guy on television, what does that make Georgie-boy?
"obama" "obama" "obama" "surge" "obama" "obama" "clinton" "obama" "glorious war on terra" "obama" "mccain - yay!" "obama" "obama" "obama"
i don't know how ANYONE can, in all seriousness, watch these sunday "news" programs.
and what is with stephanopoulos and that constant shit-eating grin? does he really find this as amusing as that?
Hey, when Federer plays Nadal in a Wimbledon final, it doesn't matter who is on any of these panels.
I loves me some Sunday Morning Bobbleheads, but who is on this week...who cares!
Mugsy @ 34:
Why that is what his buddy Georgie Bush told him so it HAS to be true. Right?
