Undermining the Country, One Regulation at a Time
good article, and sufficiently disturbing
although, i think it focuses too much on the bush admin, and doesn't touch on the steady course we have been on since 1978-80ish....
Voting machines that are not working?
Don't worry, Diebold will have them set to the proper default mode (R) by election day.
After all, this is AMERICA! Its not like we have to worry about the legitimacy of our elections: you know, like they do in third world dictatorships!
Camo bibles for the troops? Well, I guess you can't fight a holy war without bibles.
Click on "Threat Level" above. Not Diebold this time. But in summary, "Ain't Technology
Great?" Them-thar old paper ballots were so slow and unreliable..NOT
Hagee attempts to suppress video that puts him in a negative light? I'm shocked! But sincerely, I do hope it is the beginning of the end for that charlatan.

Seems to me the Bibles should've been armor plated, so when you put it in your shirt pocket it helps protect your heart.
Hmm...wonder if they're handing out camoflauged Mahabharatas, Book of Mormons, Korans, Sankaracharyas, Books of the Sub-Genius?
The so-called "free market" theory of economics being used today, takes all of the bad parts of laissez-faire theory and totally overlooks the need for regulation and social responsibility.
ysbaddaden @ 6:
no, the "Mahabharatas, Book of Mormons, Korans, Sankaracharyas, Books of the Sub-Genius" are not printed in camoflage, they are printed in loud colors with flahing lights and a siren.
ysbaddaden @ 6:
In keeping with Bush Administration policy, the troops are required to armor their own bibles.
The faulty voting machines will only be sent to predominantly democratic precincts.
No worries for the elite repug precincts.
Obama's sounding like a great president over on CNN.
Also, the first video from Guantanamo (filmed secrety from an airduct) has been released.
Samson- @ 1:
Indeed, I would point directly to Ronald Reagan.
After all it was under Nixon that the EPA was instituted, though I certainly wouldn't want to give him any more credit than he deserves, which is precious little.
AND, then there was the Watergate thing which brought us a Congress that actually did their job, after a fashion.
Witness FISA.
Speaking of FISA and a Congress that did its job, and our Congress that didn't do its job, here is Glenn Greenwald's latest.
History is just one damn thing after another.
So, I guess we can add the destruction of the U.S. auto industry and our financial services industries to the list of atrocities committed by ape emperor.
George Bush, the Peter Principle President, has certainly risen to the level of his incompetence.
Rusty Shackleford @ 9:
Penises too.
Evening USA.
I'm sitting in the lobby of a hotel down the street with a bunch of travelers and Ex-Pats who for the last couple of hours have been watching first Bush, and now Obama on the big screen. I don't know if I have words enough to describe the different feeling people are showing between the two.
Bush brought a lot of comments like "bloody idiot" and "Moronic dolt", and at many times laughter at his stumbling banter.
Obama on the other hand brought comments like "about time" and "finally a Yank who can speak with knowledge" There were many moments when cheers went up during his speech. All and all, I'd say everyone is in agreement that Obama would be something the world really needs right now. Hopefully he can save our image abroad and our future back home.
Just thought you might like the perspective.
Ciao
RE Voting machines... If the media can convince people this coming election is a close one it will be that easier to steal. If the polls say 70% to 28% in favor of Obama it would be very difficult to steal this one like the last two. If the polls indicate a close race 40's vs 40's for example they can flip a few thousand votes in key states and voila' another Republican victory. And all the unsuspecting voters will be ohhhh, we were so close this time, maybe next time. How about maybe never? I predict McCain will win this one all he has to do is keep it close, and the establishment will deliver. After eight years in power the republicans have infiltrated the voting infrastruture and are going to be reaping the benefits of this for years to come. The only way it won't work is if everyone and their dogs are standing around saying How the f*** did McCain win? I didn't vote for him did you? If it's a landslide they can't steal it as easily. If it's close it's like taking candy from a baby.
Thanks watchdog media! Where the hell did the fourth estate go?

Why is the "Interfaith Alliance" listed as "holy crap"?
ysbaddaden @ 18:
Pat would have gone over better than bush.
Another point, last night on a talking head show I saw someone say McCain is a maverick and willing to go against his own party for the good of the country, and in nearly the same breath Obama was critcized for going against his base, being a flip flopper and accused of filling in the blanks. WTF!!!! It's the same fucking thing!
They could have very easily had said Obama is a maverick splitting with his base on FISA for the good of the country!!!!! When the fuck are they going to compare the candidates with the same criteria? It's ridiculous, one second they are blasting Obama for having a position that differs from his base, calling him a same old politician, political expediancy and so on then in the next second they are praising JSMcsame for the fucking exact things!!!!
The media needs to go back to colledge and learn how to compare things logically.
John McCain has truly exposed the media for the hacks they are. Their inability to cover this election in anyway that is a benefit to high or low information voters.

Might be a stupid question, but how can I find out if I'm on the Terrorist Watch List? Is there a link anywhere?
I guess not

Conyers: NO ACTION ON IMPEACHMENT
http://rawstory.com/news/2008/Conyers_may_hold_hearings_but_plans_0715.html
Hmmm, no stern letter and no action. Way to go, John. That's how you show the rethugs you're tough. Pussycrats strike again!
At this very moment Paulsen and Bernanke are in front of the senate banking committee attempting to obtain sweeping powers for the Federal Reserve Bank. The Fed is the organization that has destroyed our currency and it's a foregone conclusion that congress will allow them to have more power to make sure the Fed completely leaves our entire economy in total ruin.
We're witnessing our once great nation circling the drain of a massive toilet bowl.
Why is the “Interfaith Alliance” listed as “holy crap”?
CAl @ 32:
"Holy Crap" is a category, also an exclamation, not necessarily a description.
Mickey Finn @ 33:
Well so long as you say it isn't a description I'll go along with it.
