Raise taxes on wealthiest Americans, stop wasting money on illegal occupation of Iraq, pay down budget deficit. Dollar goes up, oil goes down.

Karl Rove denies political ties taint Fox News role

Former White House aide Karl Rove denied on Monday that his close ties with Republican politics and John McCain's presidential campaign undermine his credibility as an election analyst for the Fox News Channel.

. . .

Asked whether Rove was on "the honor system" regarding his contacts with top McCain campaign operatives such as Steve Schmidt, Moody replied: "He's always on the honor system. All of our employees are."

Guardian UK: Google and Viacom reach deal over YouTube user data

Google has struck a deal to protect the personal data of millions of YouTube users in the $1bn (£497m) copyright court case brought against the video-sharing website by Viacom.

Under the deal, Google will make user information and internet protocol addresses from its YouTube subsidiary anonymous before handing over the data to Viacom in the US legal case.

From the agreement itself:

When producing data from the Logging Database pursuant to the Order, Defendants shall substitute values while preserving uniqueness for entries in the following fields: User ID, IP Address and Visitor ID. The parties shall agree as promptly as feasible on a specific protocol to govern this substitution whereby each unique value contained in these fields shall be assigned a correlative unique substituted value, and preexisting interdependencies shall be retained in the version of the data produced. Defendants shall promptly (no later than 7 business days after execution of this Stipulation) provide a proposed protocol for this substitution. Defendants agree to reasonably consult with Plaintiffs’ consultant if necessary to reach agreement on the protocol.

There are over 600 known, established, concentration camps built right here in the USA.
They are fully manned, equipped, and fully operational, right now.

I have not heard anyone, including any candidates, address the question,...what exactly are they there for. Nobody! Anywhere! Are they free, or do they cost taxpayers?

Yet, there they exist, in full view, unlike the wmd's under desks, that never, ever, existed. That's a fact. And nobody is questioning anything. Truely amazing.

Whose on American Idol tonight? Don't bother answering. I truely couldn't care less. Why are their working, functioning, concentration camps built for hundreds of thousands, costing *****(top secret mega bucks)? Put that on American Idol and I'll actually watch it.

Why do you think they've taken away our rights and are in the process of crashing our currency and entire economy? This is happening now. There will be no recovery. Bernanke and Paulsen will have the Fed's sweeping powers rubber stamped by congress. The John Warner Defense Act and USA Patriot Act take care of the martial law enactments. The camps are in place. Now, we're just waiting to see what the final catalyst will be. My guess is that in tandem with our collapsing economy, these fuckers will release a virus. The best opportunity is at the end of the Olympics. There will be thousands incubating this virus heading back to a hundred countries. By October, life as we know it will cease to exist.

Guardian UK: General Motors scrambles to save $15bn as car sales plummet

America's biggest carmaker, General Motors, is implementing sweeping cuts from the factory floor to the boardroom as it scrambles to bolster its cash position by $15bn (£7.46bn) to cope with plummeting sales of vehicles.

The Detroit-based manufacturer today announced that it is reducing its white-collar payroll costs by 20% through a two-year pay freeze and voluntary redundancies.

In a radical move which risks the wrath of unions, GM is scrapping healthcare cover for all its retired workers and for their families from the beginning of next year.

At the top of the company, chief executive Rick Wagoner and his fellow executives will get no bonuses for 2008 and their maximum cash compensation will drop by between 75% and 84%.

Shareholders, who have seen the value of their stock dive by 62% since the beginning of the year, will share in the belt-tightening as GM suspends dividend payments.

Have you seen the new Orkin commercial where it shows a post apocolypic world where there are only roaches and the Orkin man still alive? The morons will be underground and still sending out the Orkin man to take care of the pests until the radiation levels go down enough! Hahahaha!

If they release a virus and it wipes out half the population or more, they could slither underground and come back up after a year or two. That way the bodies would have already decomposed. They would then just find some slaves to mow the grass and it would be back to the golf course or the beach.

Answering terror with terror

In "The Dark Side," Jane Mayer chronicles the terrible, destructive decisions the Bush administration made in the name of fighting terrorism.

By Louis Bayard
July 15, 2008 | We can't say we weren't warned.

The very first Sunday after the 9/11 attacks, Vice President Dick Cheney descended like a cloud on "Meet the Press" to outline the Bush administration's response. "We'll have to work sort of the dark side, if you will. We've got to spend time in the shadows in the intelligence world. A lot of what needs to be done here will have to be done quietly, without any discussion, using sources and methods that are available to our intelligence agencies -- if we are going to be successful. That's the world these folks operate in. And, uh, so it's going to be vital for us to use any means at our disposal basically, to achieve our objectives."

Atlanta Journal Constitution - Second hearing for Carter

It turns out that Carter was right after all.

He was right in seeking to raise the fleet auto mileage standard to 48 miles per gallon by 1995. (Even U.S. automakers admitted at the time that they could easily achieve 30 mpg by 1985.)

Carter was right in exhorting Americans to turn down their thermostats, even if he did look nerdy in a cardigan while urging us to do so.

In his July 1979 speech, he was right when he said, "I am tonight setting a clear goal for the energy policy of the United States. Beginning this moment, this nation will never use more foreign oil than we did in 1977 —- never." That worthy goal quickly went by the board.

He was right to encourage fuel conservation by proposing a 50-cents-per-gallon tax on gasoline and a fee on imported oil —- in effect, a floor for fuel prices.

Invoking the pioneering spirit of the 1960s moon mission, he was right to recommend a tax on windfall oil profits to finance a crash program to develop affordable synthetic fuels.

Carter was correct, too, in setting a goal of obtaining 20 percent of our energy from solar power by the year 2000.

We balked, and his energy program, which was new and demanding, shriveled up and died. When oil prices began declining in the 1980s, the justification for change vanished altogether.

The Reagan administration junked the proposed 1995 mileage standard and the rest of the Carter agenda.

Yes, and there is available technology to have 200 plus horsepower in every car with 50 mpg. Not even to mention cars that run on compressed air and or water. This is all be design.

Are you serious? I hope not because Jay Leno has a car that runs on compressed water vapor (it's called steam, I hope you've heard of it). I've seen him drive it on one of his shows.

So what? Steam cars existed in the 19th century.
Then and now you need to make steam by burning stuff. Like wood, coal, or.. yes.. OIL.
(Don't start with this on solar. If you do, make an electric car; more efficient).

GM drunk on profits......they could have been well into their EV auto but nope went with hummer...

Do any of you think that high paid people in the auto business wouldn't be aware of what's going on in the world of fuel supplies? There is not a shortage of oil supplies. Yes, they were left out of the plans to create the image of an oil supply problem, but if the supply of fuel wasn't available, they would not have been pushing SUVs. Open up your minds and realize how everyone has been played by the oil and energy industries.

That's not quite true. The main problem with the steam engine (in its external combustion form) is the same problem as the power source. Steam. Have you used a pressure cooker? Cas Says...Yes, and what's the pivotal point there? It's development. If the development is funded and the product is manufactured and tested properly, it will work. Whether it's fuel cell, electric, solar, geothermal, electromagnetic, energy pulse generation, zero point fusion, star drive, steam, or anything else you can possibly imagine. There are always going to be infrastructure problems, but so what? If oil was suddenly unavailable tomorrow, what would happen? Some us would, if we were allowed to, would make it through and develop an alternative. It's called alternative because oil has been shoved up our butts.

Don't give anyone a reason to kill you and i bet you do just fine. Most people on the planet (and i mean 85% plus) never have this ever happen to them. Amazingly a lot of people obsess about this to the point of nuerosis.

Many that are killed, did not give anyone a reason to kill them, but I get your point.

Good. The lottery is easier to win that being killed at random. That is not a suggestion to go out and by a lottery ticket.

Realize too, that many die from lack of action.

maybe we should include deadly auto accidents to better the odds
some cities offer better odds which could bring on the
"neurosis"...cause and effect

xoites... Yes, the lottery is a rip off.

Funny how our media tries to scare the shit out of us about many things that will never happen, but we all know that the most dangerous entity in our lives is our own government.

No, again... Its the lack of involvement in our government...

xoites...Sure. Divide and conquer. The second oldest trick in the book next to RELIGION.

Auto accidents are by far the biggest killer of people in this country than anything else besides smoking. At least i think smoking kills more people.

They sure don't lack involvement when they're taking away our rights. They do that with the utmost speed and precision.

If it's good for most humans in this country, that's when they lack involvement.

I drive for a living and i smoke two plus packs a day. I am a daredevil. I will be 52 in October. Nobody has ever tried to kill me.

A few have tried to hurt me but i stopped them without hurting them.

Check out my Jatropha link at 134.

You will not be seeing that on NBC Nightly Lies and Propaganda with Brian Williams.
