After inflation, I'm earning nearly 40% less than my parents did, and yet I'm in a more specialized job than my parents ever were. The middle class in this country is dead when execs of NON-FUCKING-PROFITs are making the rest of us look like chumps.

the NYTimes tom friedman might be one of the most pathetic, constantly-wrong, over-hyped, and corporate stoolies to ever grace the printed page.

the fact that he is seen as an expert in foreign affairs and economic matters is simply stunning.

tom 'friedman unit' friedman is one reason we are in as bad a state as we are.

I'm Catholic and the Pope asked all faiths to rally against violence. Real big stretch for the Pope. Words without action are just words. And he has the best role model of all, JESUS!

Having been an Director of a non-Profit, I had to do a little bit of fact checking on this story. It turns out that Food & Friends has a 8.2 million dollar budget and the Director is not only the ED, he does the fund development as well. The administrative costs are a little high, but not out of line for a well run organization. The real facts are that this is the unusual case where someone who does a job that is life consuming in it's challenges is being reasonably compensated for what he does.

The cult of the tooth fairy is failing fast. And he doesn't actually want people to work against violence, he just wants 'em to sit down, shut up and do as they're told. That's his idea of curbing violence. Similar to his solution to the continuing pedophile priest issue. He just wants everyone to stop thinking and talking about it. Too bad they're running out of pay off money and the victims keep pouring out of the woodwork.

Personally I hope I live to see the vatican turned into a homeless shelter.
