Click for full size

It's a matter of priorities. Giant stingray caught by a British fisherman or the Iraqi Prime Minister backing the Democratic nominee's plan for withdrawing from Iraq? Which would you decide needed a big headline?

Don't worry your beautiful little mind about what's going on in the world, Fox viewer.

Faux are morons, Stingrays are marine salt water fish not freshwater.
This was either a beach or a boat angler, most likely caught from a boat in deep water.

ferrofluid (Obama 08)'s picture

Oh to be on a dark beach, with a Zziplex Quattro loaded up with some crab, lug or rag :(

The best informed/uninformed survey was the one where they asked you questions, then asked you to rate yourself about how informed you were, then asked where you got most of your news from. Turned out, people who said they got their news primarily from Fox rated themselves as the MOST informed, but as per the results of the quiz were actually the LEAST informed.

Fox viewers think they are the most informed but are the least informed. Says it all don’t it?

Steve's picture

Also, that page shows the US sabrerattling and giving Iran 2 weeks notice. Yeah, that's backpage stuff.

Well you know intelligent and informed people tend to know their limitations. They tend to be humble enough to understand that there are thing that they don't really have their heads wrapped around. Of course some dumb people try to act intelligent by insisting that nobody really understands anything.

Being a lifelong stingray fisherman, you know my answer.
I'm fairly unbalenced

I'm watching *** Lieberman on Fox News Sunday. OMFG! "Retreat and Defeat, Retreat and Defeat, Retreat and Defeat."

What an idiot. What a zionist hoodlum. What a neo con.

Really? I've never heard that before. I'm not questioning you on this. I'd just like to learn more about this. Where do they exist?

Yup, a man's got to know his limitations.

This story was in the front page section of my local paper this morning. Next to the story was the weekly "Question" - this week's question asked local citizens, "What religion is Barack Obama?"

Five people were asked...

One said "Buddhist or Muslim"

...

curtilingus's picture

In defense of Fox, that is a pretty big stingray...

curtilingus's picture

It could have been a giant stingray with huge breasts. That would have been a good excuse to put it on the front page.

That actually happened to me ... I'm not sure if they were really from Venus though.

Seriously though, Once when i was in the S.E. US I had to wait in a Doctors office and they had FOX News on. You could actually take a reading of the relative intelligence in the room. The brighter people were reading books, and the morons were glued to the TV nodding their heads.

piggyinthemiddle's picture

Apparently the fox news website is now stating "Iraq: PM Not Endorsing Obama Timeframe on Troop Withdrawal" and is actually backing Bush's "Time Horizon" plan for withdrawal.
It all makes perfect sense now. Just replace "table" with the word "horizon" and magically you now have a new policy that means exactly the same thing. So in reality the Iraqi PM is backing president Bush's Time horizon plan for withdrawal and not Obamas time table for withdrawal. Everybody got that?

Dahgrostab'ph-r-i's picture

This is an important story...the Stingray just might be the actual father of Anna Nichol's baby!

Not just that, but the new headline is really LARGE, while the original was buried away in small text.

How incredibly slimy!

BREAKING NEWS - OF EARTH SHATTERING IMPORTANCE!!! - It's the law: No sagging pants in Chicago suburb - it's about time we handled this problem!!! I am so glad we only have to worry about Al Queda and we no longer have to worry about the Droopy Drawers gang! it's a load off my mind.

Now maybe we can get back to the important job of removing the word French from our lexicon!

Saint Augustine's picture

Faux missed their opportunity to segue into Corvette Stingrays and tell us how great McSame was because he used to drive a Corvette, back when he was in the Navy, stationed in Florida, looking for women at the beaches, while his wife and children were at home across town. Yeah, Faux missed their chance.

Ask Fox News: Will Duct tape keep the giant stingrays out of my house?
Answer: Yes!

Why aren't the other networks saying anything about the Stingray story!

Because everybody else is concerned with left wing loony things like the economy, war and politics and the future of mankind. its the librul media dude, dont u know that?

piggyinthemiddle's picture

Yes this may very be the first example of "Stingray bias" in the american news media.

Preferably black with silver lightening-bolt trim

piggyinthemiddle's picture

Exactly what religion are stingrays anyways? Coz admit it folks, thats what we're really talkin about is'nt it?

auk's picture

When people get used to the government being run by unworthy, self-centered, manipulative A-holes, it's a short step for the media to follow that lead.

Fox and Bushco, a marriage made in hell, combine to form a malignant growth on the body politic. We either pray it isn't terminal, or we fight it with antiseptic.

Damn liberals always ignoring the shark stories, always turn it around on the stingrays.

osiris's picture

When you know it's a total "gotcha", divert = Foch Snooze's mantra.

It's so obvious how they selectively report the news and, when they do, it's so bogus and edited that it doesn't come close to resembling the truth. They're one bunch of charlatans and quacks. The people overhwelmingly are shutting them out of existence, boycotting their advertisers, and making a serious impace in their operation.

The fact that they have the spineless fatso (Rove) as a consultant tells the story about their level of self-respect, dignity, and honesty. This man actually "RAN" out of the country to avoid a supboena to appear before Congress. What a joke this lilly-livered fool has become. He's right back to being the brainy nerd who, when confronted with wrongdoing, would rather run like a whimpy lizard than act like a man and face the consequences of his actions. He now has ZIPPO credibility as an american, a human being, and certainly one commanding respect from the people.

Brainiac/demented nerd had to run out of the country? Hah! He wishes he will "be in jail by the end of the year" so Bush can pardon him. Won't happen. Congress will hold it off until after Bush retires (which can't come a moment too soon for the american people!). No pardons here for Diabolical Reich Rove.

Personally, I think that is the bigger story than Maliki. They are already spinning that one, claiming he has "backtracked".

FoxNews has a new update--Maliki doesn't support Obama's timeframe for withdrawal.

Consider the source.

Hey, I got 12 of 12 on the pew test yesterday and I didn't even know there were freshwater stingrays.

McCain the Liar's picture

Maliki doesn't support Obama’s timeframe for withdrawal.

Lets tell some truth about the statement.

Maliki (aka Bush's Iraqi Puppet) forgot to check with his U.S. handlers so he is now backtracking on his Iraq statement.

VitaMind's picture

You are SPOT ON, 100% correct! (with your beautiful little mind.) and just wait until the international news reports come in on the HUGE and FAVORABLE reception the Democratic Presidential Candidate has received in Germany. They friggin' LOVE his real and refreshingly intelligent demeanor (read: Bush was a liar and an imbecile)

Off topic: The animated video was AWESOME (his award-winning video "What Are You Anyway" is also excellent - http://www.meditatingbunny.blogspot.com/), keep the interesting and the diverse coming!!

Suennui's picture

Well, I believe in objective analysis, so I checked out the other "news" websites just a few minutes ago for their lead stories.

CBS News - Obama meets with Karzai
MSNBC - Obama pledges aid to Afghanistan
ABC News - Obama meets with Karzai
FOX - Starbucks closings being protested by customers
CNN - Dark Knight Record Weekend

DaHuzain's picture

That is a big stingray.

hazmaq's picture

Did you see the other monster hiding in that image kiddies??

From our new strategery master

Petraeus: Al Qaeda could be focusing on Aghanistan

So if he was a brilliant lawyur, he might also then surmise that since the court did not personally see the murder -how can they possibly convict his client.

And it's Obama's lack of experience that really matters???

Hemlock for Gadflies's picture

Now -- at 0900 Pacific time -- it is Center Spread on the Starbucks and "Iraq PM Steers Clear of Obama Plan" in slightly larger type face than what you have in this picture as the No. 2 story in the left side-bar.

But still -- Starbucks closings are BIG NEWS!

ysbaddaden's picture

44 Suennui

Is CNN suggesting that

Obama is

The Dark Knight?

ysbaddaden's picture

44 Suennui

So Sue, does that mean you're always yawning

Or roll your eyes while saying, "Whatever," a lot?

Whatever.

BIGGER BREAKING NEWS !

YAHOO KICKS FOX'S ASS! HA HA HA

In an even MORE amazing story Yahoo reports Zimbabwe has just introduced the 500 BILLION dollar bill, while it also reports Britain has just told Israel -"no more settlements" and that they are now the Palestinians new best friends.

500 Billion dollars says American media won't touch the Israeli story, either.

I can't figure out how this is even a news story on Crooks and Liars. In my opinion you are nitpicking.

Picking one thread out of so many is nitpicking.

It also shows an example of when FAUX is losing an argument they change the subject, and in this case to a pretty silly one (like some of their blonde bimbos.)

ysbaddaden's picture

In other words, you're employing a tu quoque

Accusing the accusor

Whereas once could say FAUX news is often accusatory.

So one could say, I'm accusing the accusor of the accusor of the accusor...

Hey this can get fun after awhile!

wasaperson's picture

I've mentioned before about the ratings they attract and simply see them as a "Weekly World News" of the MSN. I enjoy my coffee strong and my morning news light.
A question to all the artists out there: "What is a medium, again?"

kscitydude's picture

The reason I think this story is just silly is because all of us know what Fox News does. Or maybe Crooks and Liars thinks we are stupid and don't know what goes on at that network.

scruzman's picture

Too easy. They had advance notice that the Maliki story was Malarki and went with the stingray story instead.
