O'Reilly stooge ambushes Rep. Robert Wexler

BillO's peeps sandbag Rep. Wexler. Nice going Bill. Not everyone can handle it like Bill Moyers.

icon Download | play   icon Download | play   (h/t Bill W)

BillO's act of sandbagging people with a camera crew who he disagrees with where they live is unseemly. He's such a frustrated man that he has to harass them with the Jesse Watters type idiots if they won't appear on his show. I think it's about time a group of people count up all of these BillO stakeouts and then camp out at his house, cameras in hand and stay there while O'Reilly comes home and jump out of the bushes and ask him about Andrea Mackris and Shawn Hornbeck until he gives up this farce. Let's see how you like it, Bill.

He really has crossed the line.

Here's my complete guide for all those that might have occasion to combat this jackass:

The Complete Guide on How to Deal with Bill O’Reilly’s ambush producers

I believe the last person to do this to O'wannabe wound up on Olbermann's Worst List.

Well if I recall correctly Mike Stark did it and was reprimanded by the majority of Progressives for it.

One of the tv stations in West Palm Beach checked into the legalities of Wexler's housing situation and found he is doing absolutely nothing illegal or wrong. As usual BillO is making an ass of himself as well as a mountain where there wasn't even a mole hill.

If I saw his hit boys on my yard with a camera, I would call the police and charge them with trespassing.

bill-o the clown has taken the circus onto the streets.

A Kos blogger names Mike Stark already did it...and he got hammered for doing it. O'Liely is down in the ratings....his audience appears to be succumbing to natural causes. He's not losing viewers to Olbermann, he's losing them to the grim reaper.

Personally, if I saw Bill-O on the street and his hair was on fire, I would'nt waster a squirt of pee to put him out.

That's my recollection, too.

some dude already nailed him at his house and everybody(including Keith Olberman) was appalled
let's be better than Billo and call his home off limits

Dunno much about Wexler, but he's a legend as far as I'm concerned. Ever since his Colbert appearance with cocaine and prostitutes:P

BillO the Clown (love it when Olbermann calls him that!) is such an asswipe. I sent him an email the other night asking if he has investigated Ann Coulter concerning her residence and voting registration status. Seems as if she has had problems with both. I asked him if he has investigated all 434 members of the House and all 100 U.S. senators as well. "Fair and Balanced," yeah, right.

Lame BS. Going after this BS because he doesn't like that Wexler is an active progressive. Undemocratic as it gets. I hope it backfires on OReilly's ass.

The glaring truth be told, MOST Republicans own several houses, live or visit all of them periodically. If BiilO wants to do this kind of sleazy reporting he should remember, if ABC, NBC and CBS were as sleazy as FOX most Republicans could have this same thing going on in front of wherever they might be spending the night.

BillO is reaching into a hole in the side of a hill that might just be filled with rattlesnakes.

Sure you want to put you hand in the Bill?

What about George H.W. Bush when claimed a hotel room in Texas was his residence to avoid state income taxes in Maine.

Of course not, facts and reality are not necessary for O'Racist or his sad pathetic extremist audience. He's too busy obsessing over anything and everyone left of Adolf Hitler/Mann Coulter to cover anything on substance.

Let's sabotage falafel shower again at his home!!!!

And this is an important story to Orally?? More important than his boyfriend Rove outing a spy??
What a schmuck.

Perhaps we should ask Bill-O about how he "moved his own" boyhood home. He always claimed it was in a bad neighborhood, right? It wasn't. He grew up near a friend of mine and even went to private school with him. BTW, the school doesn't like it when you talk about Blow-O.

Ambush Question: Bill is it true you called Andrea Mackriss Andrea Mattress?,
Your viewers need to know

*sigh*

when is it MY turn to get o'reilly-ambushed? i welcome it. i urn for it. i crave it.

there are so many things i'd like to say to o'reilly (through his producer, of course), and to have it be on faux noise's bill (and camera), well, all the better.

bill moyers handled it like only bill moyers could. olbermann's ambush-tutorial provides some great ideas too. now i want a shot at it.

Is it just me, or does it look like Fox News is doctoring photos again? It's a little hard to see from this clip, but look at Wexler's lips...

Wexler should go on the show and include Mackriss or Falafel into every other line he says.

Wexler, why do you even talk to these idiots? Just walk away!

She doesn't live here, hasn't lived here for 40 years, she inherited her mother's home when the mother passed, but
she only visits to cut ribbons, dedicate something or make her lyin'-ass comments about her opponent, hopefully to be the next
senator from NC. Plus, since he doesn't live here either, HER HUSBAND CAN'T VOTE FOR HER!!!!!. I say the congress should pass a law, an amendment or some ordinance saying you HAVE to live in the district you are elected to serve, inconvenience be damned!

How many members of Congress do not have homes in DC or it's immeadiate suburbs?

I am guessing those from Maryland and Virginia and probably not all of those. A twelve to sixteen hour commute from far western Virginia would be murder.

The housing prices in DC and it's immeadiate suburbs go up every four years because elected officials, their staff and others come and go.

This is tabloid journalism at its sloppyist. You can see that the Wall Street Journal is firmly in Murdock's control.

Yep, they got on Mike Stark's case for doing the same thing to him. Clearly O'loufah has learned nothing from that incident.

How many Republican congressman do this as well???? I bet many...

This is news to Billo? Why is Billo suddenly showing conservative affection for Wexler?

Billo must know that many republicans are doing this very thing he pretends only Wexler is doing.

I noticed Billo didn't seem concerned for the McCain's dodging their taxes on their California home for the last couple of years, Why?

Most laughable is the commonality of Billo, Beck, Hannity et al. Every democratic legislature is "ALWAYS" refered to with the, " MOST LIBERAL REPRESENTATIVE IN CONGRESS" or " THE MOST LIBERAL SENATOR IN WASHINGTON".

Has anyone noticed the Kerry was the most liberal when he ran in 04. Ted Kennedy held that most liberal position. Al Gore, Bill Clinton, Hillary too.

It must be a rotating title. This has become republican code for the most hateful and detestable democrat that is frustrating the conservatives.

I wonder if they pulled this thing in Texas, could they be shot in cold blood by Joe Horn?

That's because they are actually all the same person which is why it is so hard for him to actually get anything done. :)

It's a good thing that I'm not important enough to rate a visit from an Orally stooge. I'm getting impatient in my old age; somebody might get kicked in the...oh - right.

So Mike Stark turned this method on Orally? Good for him! Hey, here's another stunt that should be turned on the Repimplicans: send all of their kids to fight and die for the noble war for oil. Or fight and get hideously maimed and then be told that the VA is "rationing" health care. I have no more patience with these thugs.

this is long past being tedious, juvenile and boring.

we'll do it lie!!! we'll do it live!!!! f**k!!!!!!!!!

BillO's an asshat but I'm not sure how sympathetic I am tp a representative that really doesn't live in their district.

It boils down to this - if the residents of that district think Wexler is doing a good job representing them, who are BillO, myself or anwyone else to pass judgement on him?

I would advance the following idea - not living in the district that you represent is part of our larger political elite problem. However, Bill decided to go for the cheapest route. He could have been a true journalist like Bill Moyers (O'Reilly has no credibility, which is why he fumes and steams more than he really says anything of worth - if any of your stooges are reading this, you can rest assured that if you ever cornered me like that, I would come back at you with many facts about how you are not a news program or even a worthwhile outlet of any kind for our country, you are a fringe group clinging to relevancy), and actually address how our political leaders have lost touch and how congress has a 7% or 9% approval rating, it's been going down and honestly, we need new management and new parties in this country - take a look at Bill Moyers show on Cleveland - THE PROBLEM BECAME APPARENT ABOUT 7 YEAR AGO !! The federal Reserve did NOTHING ! CRIMINAL NEGLIGENCE IS WHAT OUR ELECTED LEADERS SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH !

I would also like to add that more NON-LAWYERS NEED TO BE ELECTED, as most of these parasites are a drain on our society, but even them couldn't prevent the TORTURING OF HUMAN BEINGS FOR THE SUPPOSED BENEFIT OF OUR NATION'S SECURITY (READ - STATE OF CONSTANT FEAR).

It is simply amazing that in that biography of O'Reilly there is absolutely no mention of O'Reilly's military service. O'Reilly received a letter that everyone else of his generation received and that was a letter that started off with the word Greetings, you are hereby ordered to report to [this particular] induction center to receive your military physical. Did this war hawk somehow avoid the draft? Was he a conscientious objector during his youth? That biography pretends that there was no military draft back then when there very much was, which resulted in many Americans ending up in a place called Vietnam, a place where O'Reilly mysteriously avoided going.

Nope. Send noone and get those who are there back here pronto.

Yes, yes; you are right of course. Get them back here yesterday is the only way to go.
I just can't believe that anyone would diss this Mike Stark for his actions(or those who applaud him) in light of all the calculated, greedy, evil actions perpetrated by the right wing government and their apologists for so many years.

All of the genocide, invasions, malfeasence, misfeasence, nonfeasence, flooded cities, homeless people, dead children, shattered pensions and the great pipeline to the US Treasury to crony corporations - if wanting to see Repimplican blood makes me a terrible person - okay! Mick the Terrible

Congressman Wexler is much nicer than I would have been - after saying that i didn't have time and would talk to him at my office I would have reminded O'Reilly stooge that he is on MY driveway, which is private property and if he didn't get himself back to the street I would call the cops and have him arrested for treaspassing.

You know how big BillO and the republicans are about Private Proptery and those rights.

Well...Dennis...it's because he's such a flagrant propagandist, his hate filled ignorant rants reach too many people in this country, he's dangerous,a traitorous un-American bigot, and I think he should be tried for treason with the rest of the talking heads on fox and other networks who have spewed the Neo-Con lies.
And if that's what obsession is to you...so be it... then I'm obsessed with seeing him pay for his crimes.

Or have you forgotten...

On 13 November 1787, Thomas Jefferson wrote to New York senator William S. Smith saying,

"A little rebellion now and then is a good thing . . . . God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty . . . . and what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned, from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed, from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."

Can I rebel against Bill and our congress ?

Thanks, L². I don't much care for the guy either to be honest. It's just the obsession over him that I find bizarre.

I'm not sure I agree that Dennis was right. The main point of the initial post by Princess (and then picked up by Dennis) was that Stark was cheered on by the Progressive movement. The implication was that the larger movement endorsed his actions. Yet all Dennis could find were angry comments from C&L. Using that level of justification, I could argue that the Right-wing movement is anti-semetic because of some comments posted on Townhall or LGF. But judging by the lowest-common denominator does not provide an accurate depiction of the movement's true stance.

So yes, some commentators (and a small minority) of the Progressive movement endorsed Stark's actions, but the leaders of the movement and a majority of Progressives just saw this as stooping to BillO's level. I'd have to take the same stance here. While I'd love to see BillO squirm, it's better to take Moyer's approach than to stoop to his level of "journalism."

I think it’s about time a group of people count up all of these BillO stakeouts and then camp out at his house, cameras in hand and stay there while O’Reilly comes home and jump out of the bushes and ask him about Andrea Mackris and Shawn Hornbeck until he gives up this farce. Let’s see how you like it, Bill.

I love it! Every politician who is interviewed or waylaid by FoxNews should bring up Billo the Clown's depredations and repeatedly ask about them rather than answering gotcha questions by FoxNews, no matter which anchor they represent.

Alan Keyes ring any bells? Ran for Senate representing Illinois? Didn't declare residency in Illinois until after he was nominated?

I don't like the ambush. But does he have a valid point? Is this a sham residence? It seems to be.
I think the residency requirement is kinda silly now that these guys are expected to live in DC most of the time. It's really burdensome and wasteful to require them to have two households. But that's no excuse for falsifying government records or being dishonest with constituents.

97 Mitch Spege

Actually all your asking is the differece between a residence and a domicile. And National politicians have to live in the area to make the commute to work realistic. And DC was carved out of portions of Maryland and Virgiinia despite constitutional prohibitions on creating new states out of existing state lines. Amendment 23 (1961) gave the district of columbia electoral votes

If you want to quibble residencies, chainey claims Texas as his until it would've prevented him from being boosh's running mate as per the Constitution so he changed it through paperwork to Wyoming.

My statement was that Mike Stark was praised here, and he was. 407 posts on that thread so posters were divided on the issue, admittedly. I already stated that John Amato came out against Stark's behavior, but in the original blog post by SilentPatriot, who said "It’s about time someone pulled this crap on O’Reilly.", I just assumed the blog owners were divided as well.

So I guess we are both right. But as to which side was the majority opinion, I guess it's up to conjecture.

Here's the original blog post, fyi.

Will Orally go after Liddy Dole who "lives" with her mother in Salisbury, NC?

O'Reilly, if he was a journalist, would look at Republican Brian Bilbray and his housing situation.

He's a partisan hack. If you want to listen to partisan BS, this is your man.

I'm willing to bet that there are plenty of other congressmen and women on both sides of the aisle, who have similar arrangements.

I couldn't watch it past the ambush. Listening to Republicans and neocons froth about election fraud is too much hypocrisy for me.

So I can see your curiosity on the obsession with Bill O displayed in the C&L comments. Admittedly I've lost my temper in my posts on him in the past. Sadly, however, I think that these reactions are precisely what Bill O wants. He's your standard, run of the mill bully. He wants to piss people off, he wants to make them angry, because when he does he has control. That's exactly why he does these "gotcha!" stunts/interviews. He admittedly wants to embarrass the target, but on a larger scale he simply wants to piss-off Progressives. When we do get so angry as we are now, then we are giving him precisely what he wants.

The only way to beat him is to take away what he wants. Bill O'Reilly is slipping into irrelevance by the day. Embrace that. Make his actions and thoughts meaningless and you'll take away the only thing he holds dear... power.

Just hearing Billo say "Let the voters decide" makes my skin crawl. Right. HE'S interested in having every vote counted.

Gary @ 104:

Lost to Obama in that one. The guy Keyes replaced was Ryan, married to Jerri of star trek fame, after the sex club shopping tour came to light. Even here in Il that still goes down as one of the wierdest elections ever.

I realllllly hate to say this, but I actually have to agree with Bill-o on this one. If this were ANY Republican, we would be outraged. Yeah, he is a great Congressmen and has done some great things. He just shouldn't be doing it on the behalf of Floridians. It's just B.S. Now, as far as him being "harassed" goes: Remember when Michael Moore approached members of congress in Fahrenheit 9/11? Yeah, that was cool how he put them on the spot without any appointment on their way to work. That way they didn't have prepared statements and had to answer with a lot of, "uh, uhmm"s. Face it. That reporter didn't do anything all that terrible and certainly no worse than I would expect have been done to any Republican who was doing the same thing. Step back and really think of the situation. Yes, Bill is a partisan hack and a nut-job. But, all the same, if he were to tell me that the sky outside my window looks blue today, I would have to admit that he was right, despite his general insanity. Hey, a room full of typing monkeys eventually would write Hamlet, right? (that's a joke, by the way)

Now that is a real abuse of residency!

I was going to ask what BO had to say about Rick Santorum and his empty house that he had his name on here in Pa. Thanks for answering before I asked. I am proud to say I helped vote him out, and I am not in the least bitter. I only go to church for weddings and funerals, and I never owned a gun. Although I am a good shot on the boardwalk shooting gallerys and can make the bells and whistles go off every time I take aim. However, with politicions like Santorum I can understand others who could feel bitter about our school money being drained by children who live in Virginia.

ysbaddaden @ 112:

And since Wexler is leading investigations and calling for subpoenas duces tecums this smells like political retaliation, not journalism.

Of course it is - it's laughably obvious that the only reason this is an issue for O'Reilly is because Wexler's among the more threatening members to the Republican Lie.

It's not "let the people decide", it's "let the voters decide". It's obvious what O'Rly's intent is.

Funny when you think about it.

As old as Helen Thomas is, she outlived tony snow.

I just wasted a couple of minutes of my life watching this. So they establish that this is not against the law. It is not against the spirit of the law. It is a "ruse". A "ruse" for crying out loud.

This O’Rly dude is some seriously sad f#@ker!

Of course, he does actually live in Texas damn near as much as D.C. All those damned vacations he takes. So, actually, I'm going to have to take back my last comment there. God, you people really like making me have to be devil's advocate. I wish Bush would fucking die, but I'm not going to say things that I'll have to take back once a liberal is in the same boat. I refuse to be a hypocrite. If I own a house in California that I visit for 2 weeks in the summer, I'm still resident of Seattle. Likewise, if my mom owns a house in California that I only visit (i.e. Wexler re. Maryland), I'm still a resident of Seattle. Damnit. Now, I've had to defend two pieces of shite. I guess I just critique my own peers almost as much as neo-cons because I want to be consistant on what I say I believe. And if a Republican member of Congress were to do that, I would honestly be pissed and outraged about it. I don't want someone to call me out on that if this doesn't piss me off just the same. It's things like these that give pricks like Bill the fuel to make us look like dolts and crazy radicals, while THEY are really the crazy-scary wackos. Please, don't take the "intellectual" out of "intelectual liberal". That's one "insult" that I'm proud to wear.

Well, I do remember Bill Clinton saying that the Dems lost the elections because they wouldn't play the dirty tricks games with the republicans. Clinton also claimed he won because he knew how to play the game with them.
I am not saying that Clinton stooped down to Republican levels. I am saying that yes we should ambush every last child raping, anti-christian, monkey brain Republican, they deserve it.
My strongest point to enforce this reaction is the Rightwingers don't understand anything else, some americans need this simplistic "soap opera" crap, to be convinced.

You can't argue with stupid so why waste time?

If what Wexler is doing is "wrong" then Bill O is going to have to go after just about half the Republicans and Democrats in Congress. This is how a lot of them live...they keep a place in the DC region and have a "residence" in their home state. I'm sure Bill will be going after one of the many Republicans who does this tonight, right? I won't hold my breath.

As far as how she ran her camp against Obama, she certainly stooped to their levels. Not that Obama is the best choice, but between him and Clinton, he deffinately, in my opinion would make a better President and also piss less people off. We should be speaking with other nations. Can you imagine Hillary yelling at them? Oy. hehe. My favorite was Gravel *sigh*. But, I understand the need to live in the "real world" So....Go, Obama. But, yeah, I know that we need to be a litter more agressive than Kerry was, but on stuff like this. This is actually the kind of stuff that's simple enough for the other side to understand and call bullshit on. And that hurts our efforts. ....I think, anyway.

Like I always say to my Repug friends, nobody hates America like Bill"O.

They can't nail Wexler; on any important issue; so they go after where he lives? WGAF?? Who make O'Liely the official arbiter of residence morality?

Dr Acula @ 29:

Wexler should have told Jesse to go falafel himself.

Seriously. When O'Reilly is such an easy target for ridicule, why do these suckers let his stooges put them on the defensive? Answer every question with a question. "Is this why you got into journalism, so you could harrass people at their homes and do Bill's dirty work?" "How much did Bill pay exactly to settle that sexual harrassment suit, and do his sex acts involving Middle Eastern food make him unAmerican?"

Of course, I wouldn't expect him to live in the district. The district is the most gerrymandered thing I've ever seen. Have you ever looked at a map of FL-19? Much of Coral Springs (which is in Broward County, not in Palm Beach like Delray) is in FL-19, though the rich developments and nearby affluent Parkland are cut out of the district. There are a large number of pancake-thin parallel districts running down the coast of South Florida, so that crossing the street can take you out of the district and crossing the next street can put you back in. It's disturbing. There's no geographical basis for that.

But honestly, I don't care where Wexler keeps his residence. As long as he continues being the extremely proud liberal voice he is, he's still my Congressman. Hell, I don't live in the district, either, most of the year, since I go to school in Massachusetts, so I don't see why he should have to. I really don't see why he should subject his family to either being without a dad half the week or moving back and forth every week. Coral Springs is a family-values and family-friendly town, and it understands the realities of raising a family as a Congressman. We'll keep sending him back. (:

Wexler was offered free airtime to defend his choice of residence and also to give out his opinions on the issues. He promised O'Reilly that he would appear on his show.

Last time I called Wexler's office, the secretary said he was "hiding under the desk". I guess she was kidding, but why can't he go on the show as he promised?
