McCain Nation In this unretouched screen grab from McCain.com [no link you go find it yourself] ...McCain Nation? A powerful grassroots tool? Featuring Cindy? Oy. I can't figure out if they're paying Comedy Central for this stuff, or if some staff infiltrator is being incredibly ironic...

Mccain Nation? From what I've seen they'd be lucky to gather up enough people for a Mccain County.

Hmmm, to find an event I had to maximize the range to 100 miles and travel to another state (Idaho). Some trips just aren't worth it - I'll have to figure out another way to dispose of my rotten eggs.

I'm suprised McCain would refer to Colbert at all. Colbert's green screen segment is hilarious. And Colbert's skewing of McCain's age is a hoot. Go Stephen!

McCain Finally Gets His Very Own Song

With all these terrible tributes to Obama, it has seemed unfair that McCain hasn't had any unintentionally hilarious tunes penned for his campaign. But now that imbalance has been rectified, and it's almost too good to be true: it's a song called "Raising McCain" and it's by John Rich of Big and Rich. Honestly, this is the kind of stuff that makes me glad to be alive. Billboard has this quote from the song's lyrics:

He stayed strong,
Stayed extra long,
Til they let all the other boys out.
Now we've got a real man
With an American plan
We're going to put him in the big White House.
Refrain: We're all just raising McCain.

Does "house" rhyme with "out?" And is anybody else getting a weirdly homoerotic vibe? "Extra long," "real man," "raising"... no? You don't want to go there? Okay, but either way, it's just spectacular. Rich told Billboard that he'll debut the song tomorrow at "Country First," a festival in Panama City, Florida, with McCain in attendance. "The entire world is looking for a way to sucker punch us," said Rich, "I think John McCain is the guy to keep us safe." But who will protect us from terrible country-rock ballads?

Yeah, "The One" ad is really going to help McFucknuts, with 51,000 new jobless claims, the home mortgage disaster getting worse, the banking system going under, GM almost ready to declare bankruptcy, the oil barons raking in ghastly amounts of blood money as people worry about how they can afford to go back and forth to work with wages that are barely higher than the cost of gasoline, the Iraq disaster still a quagmire that eats money like GWB used to snort coke, and on and on and on. Is this it? Is this all they have? Funny thing is, ever since McLame started this shit, Obama has received over 100,000 campaign contributions, including 33,000 new contributors. So keep it up, Gramps. Put a few more of these ads out so the Obama campaign can jack up their monthly total to about $75,000,000. And BTW, since when is it a bad thing to be compared to Moses? And did McLame and his idiot advisors ever think that the TRULY religious may be offended by this lamest of lame campaign ads? “So let it be written, so let it be done” (spoken hammily, like Charlton Heston in “The Ten Commandments”).

Brad's picture

I think "McCain Nation" is sort of silly-funny-crafty, since it points sideways to the unfortunate parallel term, "Obama Nation."

I commented about it in the last thread. I thought what the dems in the house did was funny as hell. Nancy and all the dems turned off the lights in the chamber and shut down the mics as they were leaving to go home for the recess. Some repubs were all bent out of shape and demanding that the president be called and he should demand the dems return to the chamber. The repubs went ahead with their speeches in the dark and with no lights. Their bloomers are in a twist because Pelosi refused to even bring up the idea of offshore drilling.

Here's part of what he said:
""My interest is in making sure we've got the kind of comprehensive energy policy that can bring down gas prices," Obama said in an interview with The Palm Beach Post.

"If, in order to get that passed, we have to compromise in terms of a careful, well thought-out drilling strategy that was carefully circumscribed to avoid significant environmental damage _ I don't want to be so rigid that we can't get something done."

I was curious and clicked on the link and went to this site and I found one strange element missing. Is it my imagination that this candidate is omitting what party he owes his allegiance. There was not one reference to his being Democrat or Republican or Independent. Is this on purpose to mislead people into thinking that party affliation does not matter but when the dust settles it will be revealed that he is a Republican. I could be wrong but it seems that some of the candidates especially Republicans are not using the Republican banner in their quest for office.....can anyone shed any light on this?

I heard it on the news just 20 min ago and I don't like the looks of this. I hope that Obama does not react but respond to issues but also does not change his position on the issues. It is a fact that this initiative will not have any effect on prices so why is it being pressed in the news. The fact that the MSM spins on meaningless issues is making a mockery of this general election and their support smacks of partisan politics.

There can be only one Nation in America and that's the Red Sox Nation. And the nation is unhappy about this whole Manny thing right now.

McCain loses style points for having a completely unoriginal title for the losers who like him. And he just lost the last 3 votes he was going to get from Red Sox nation. The Bloody Foot is still gonna vote for him I think.

But yeah, isn't it enough division already without trying to make his campaign its own little nation? Can we somehow force him and his "nation" to secede?
