Even more ridiculous when one realizes that McLame is no educated/learned individual , who "made his bones" by struggling and moving up in the political world , step by earned step ; he married into wealth and was given a free and luxurious life and political career .............

All you need to know about a republican is this. What ever he/she accuses you of doing, they are doing the exact same thing. Clear Skies Initiative anyone?

A great ad!

On the celebrity ad, it's just more of that infamous right wing subconscious projection. McLame should be embarrassed to be revealing his inner weaknesses so boldly to the world.

It was the Washington's favorite son, John Rendon and his PR lobby company that invented Chabli
It all traces back to Rendon, follow the money and the buck stops there.
Even GW1 was started by Kuwait hiring Rendon.
Somebody had to be there and do it, and it was TRG, the octopus at the heart, oil lobbyist extraordinaire.
btw he also screwed up Carter's 1980 reelection campaign...
Thus we suffer the legacy of twenty eight years of Rendon.

So we learn here that the DOL is operating under guidelines that essentially restrict the enforcement of the laws and regulations that protect US workers.

Am I surprised? Not at all.

We know from elsewhere that rather than go after business interests, on whatever basis, the DOL has focused on going after unions.

I can state from first hand experience that this is a department that is particularly inept.

That is ironically perhaps a slight comfort to unions that indeed deserve being gone after, there are a few. In the final analysis it is hardly comfort to workers, good unions and they are the vast majority, can be harassed, corrupt unions can go undetected.

Business interests need not worry. Workers lose their rights whichever way they turn.

oh dear what a shame, no more CIA country club shenanigans.
they now have to follow orders and do their job (lawfully) like other civil servants.

CIA has failed to eliminate its rival. Having failed, the CIA will continue its "descent" into the status of a service organization for the rest of the government rather than the alternative foreign policy establishment that it once thought it was.

I can't understand how Obama can be attacked on the basis of his celebrity. The great genius of the American experiment is marketing and celebrity. Also, attacks on the basis of his phenomenal ability to raise money. Surely the ability to raise money and manage campaigns are things we'd like to see in the president.

The Opinion Mill’s Sunday Bookchat: Jane Mayer sheds devastating light on The Dark Side and how the war on terror has soiled America’s good name and planted seeds of further extremism.

Ms Mayers is dead-on in her assessment of the Bush years.

However, her notion that America was once a place of purity and kindness, and that the Bush adminstration has single handedly sullied America's pristine image is singularly naive.

The Bush administration has done nothing that hasn't already been done many times by the US, many times in my lifetime. Torture, illegal wars, domestic spying, false flag operations. You name it, it's already been done.

What makes BushCo different is the sheer volume of their despicable behavior and the fact that, for all their secretiveness they have in fact been more blatant and in-your-face than for instance the Eisenhower, Johnson or Reagan administrations.

Eisenhower, for instance, is remembered by "progressives" for his warnings about the Military-Industrial Complex, yet without his administration's complicity with their designs the Military-Industrial Complex would not have the power it has today. Under his watch the US overthrew the democratically elected government of Iran, for instance, and laid the groundwork for the American War Against the Vietnamese people. Not to mention the CIA's machinations in Latin America.

The USA went beyond the pale with the GWOT and invading Iraq and the genocidal occupation,
its going to take a generation or two to get a good name back,
at least until the guilty players alive today, are rotting in the ground.

Re: The Impolitic,
I have said for a long time that the polls aren't worth a damn. I know the msm makes those numbers up and that's why a man who draws thousands of people is only polling slightly higher than the cadaver running as a third term of the 'apocalypse for jebus' presidunce.
Having the candidates reported in the polls as 'neck and neck' until the election will make the diebold fraud that much easier to push.

Eisenhower effectively was a puppet and over his head in the POTUS role plus his illnesses, Nixon as his VP ran the show.
As J Edgar Hoover was mr. FBI for 49 years, so was Nixon mr. president in various forms from 1952 until his death, or when GHWB assumed the mantel.

Actually it was (ready for this?) Senator Prescott Bush who "ran the show."

Nixon was Prescott Bush's protege.

And both Eisenhower's CIA Director Allen Dulles and his Sect of State John Foster Dulles (brothers) were Bush family lawyers.

Just read their bios - they set foreign policy during the Eisenhower years, and GW Bush really hasn't done anything that they didn't do.

They - the two Dulles brothers - steered the "ship of state."

Eisenhower was a feel-good father-figure.

And on domestic affairs, it was Prescott Bush who oversaw Eisenhower's signature on the Interstate Highway Act that doomed our passenger rail system and dictated that all Americans would have to own automobiles and fly airplanes instead.

And if you go back to World War One you'll find Prescott Bush's father's fingers in the mix.

A century of political manipulation by the Bush family has led the US down many dark roads.

Israeli soldiers kill two young Palestinian boys. You know you will not see anything in the Mainstream media about these killings and the ongoing crimes being committed by the Israeli government and military against the Palestinian people. Remember the International criminal court determined that the "Wall" was illegal four years ago
