I'm not aware of any of the 5 Democratic Congresspersons from MN campaigning for our nominee here.

If a Congressperson wants to help a nominee, then great, but it's not a scandal when they don't.

She, like the Clintons before her, are the reason the Democratic party is worthless as an opposition party. They have sold out to the special interests and try to govern as Republican light. Her, Hillary, Bill, and the rest need to move on down the road. Hell they are the reason we have Obama. He is a slightly right of center candidate. These people have destroyed the party, they have remove its backbone. The party no longer stands for anything but corporate interests. Just like how the GOP pays lip service to anti abortion issues but never really does much, the current Democratic leaders pay lip service to labor and health care, but all solutions are the corporate solution.

He ran against a republican with a dirty smear campaign and Jay lost. His opponent served a few months and then got arrested and convicted of child molestation.

But Jay's observation is that we are social animals, and we like to get along with other people. Especially if they are nice and friendly. It's hard to go against the tide, day in and day out and after a while, you find yourself giving in on little things, Later you find that the little things add up to big things. Eventually this leads to a place where you discover that you've betrayed your ideals, and you don't even know when or where it really happened.

The lobbyists live in Washington. They make friends with politicians. They eat dinner with them. Take them to movies. Hang out and have a few beers in bars and at private parties.

We are a voice from out there. We work for a living and don't have time to schedule dates to lavish our politicians with. They see us through the lens of letters, emails, and protesters carrying signs.

We are distant strangers. Lobbyists are friends that are there to help out, lend a hand and practice a bit of you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours.

The permissive lobbying laws and the fact that Washington has a culture that alienates our representatives from us, is a huge problem. And I do not believe it will be fixed. Few people would take a pay cut, and vote to cut all of their friends' pay, on this issue. Everyone can use a little more money can't they? And how do you ask people you care about, to take a pay cut, because you think they are losing their souls, or you're losing yours. How many people would even notice with an atmosphere of constant social reinforcement?

White aristocratic Cuban exile families yearning to resubjugate black Cubas 90 miles away what IRL is all about. Florida is so gerrymandered that most every district is safe for incumbents: Debbie's never faced a challenger after being handed her boss' Jewish district only two-years after moving to S. Florida -- now there's a meritocracy! The result is the most embarrassing Congressional delegation of any larger state this side of Texas. Wexler's the only one decent, and he's been a joke since Colbert nailed him.

Here in Mica's 7th district, with the largest voting age population in the nation, the 8-term incumbent seldom gets more than token opposition, despite nobody knowing or liking him. Mica is utterly contemptuous of voters, so his aid hide him away after his frequent on-cameras rants. Even Republicans can't stand him. And the district has become almost purple (+3 Republican and falling). Despite Dean's great efforts, the national party refuses to help anyone who isn't already well-healed and at least even in the polls; then they turn around and support Democrats-in-name-only types in the South who will always block progressive legislation! Anyone want a great chance to be in Congress, please move here to the lucky 7th. I'll even manage your campaign til you can get started for 2010 (in 2006, I got a a novice who refused to raise money 37%. Think what a real candidate could do?

The good news is this could be great year for Dems in Florida because of Puerto Rican migration (all Democrat), shifting allegiance of middle aged and younger Cubans, and total dominance of the state legislature by incompetent GOP ideologues that has ruined the economy (population has actually nearly leveled off and the three huge south Florida counties are losing population), and property value collapse and foreclosures everywhere. With Florida turning into a basket case economically, throw the bums out is finally in the air. It smells sweet!

I just received an email from Cindy Sheehan stating that the Board of Elections are invalidating so many of her collected signatures that they are now in need of 3,000 more signatures within the next 24 hours.

They're invalidating them for a simple reason - the signators arent registered voters. She's not going to be close to getting on the ballot. (By the way, she won't necessarily be included in any debates even if she gets on the ballot. There is no requirement that any debates which are held include all candidates).

Debbie would do well to remember that incumbent Al Wynn of Maryland got beat by Donna Edwards in the primary earlier this year. I don't think the people will have much patience with pandering DINO's anymore who try to be everything to everyone. She'd better get with the program.

Because we have to expect better. She was never qualified hand picked for a designer district. Her defining characteristic is not Jewish or a woman or Hillary supporter and certainly not Floridian. That is exactly the point. The Cubans own Miami. My husband had to go thru the airport there and he was in a military uniform and the man at the check out spoke only spanish. My husband was upset because he was in an american airport but felt like he was in another country. Now my husband and I speak other languages but he was surprised that the man couldnt or wouldnt speak english.

This is just one more reason I will not be going to the polls in November. I will send away for an absentee ballot and write in Elmer Fudd for POTUS. The sad truth is if they were acting like Repugs, at least they would have banned together to get shit done! These people can't come together for anything. and they have allowed far to many Right Wing knuckleheads to infiltrate the Democratic Party.

As much harm as the Republican party does you have to admit they sure to come together for their bullshit causes. If the Dems would put that kind of effort into their job we would have fixed 30 or 40 percent of what the Repugs have done by now. We could have actually proved Obama's energy plan works by putting forth solid bills that enough Repugs would have to stand behind that we could beat the veto or filibuster.

If the Dems would spend a little more time standing up for what they know is right instead of caving into what they know is wrong this country would be giving them a better rating and they would guarentee a larger number of seats in the fall. But if they keep up this wishy-washy bullshit they are going to have problems getting enough new votes. The people on the fence are going to blame whoever is in charge at the time. That's how we got the House and Senate back in the first place.

I listened to the ED Shultz show the day DWS was going on and on about, why Impeachment was not an option and I almost became physically ill. The woman's logic completely escapes me. Unfortunatley we are represented by a whole gaggle of Democrats just like her, ala, Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Brian Baird plus a lot more. If we are fortunate enough to hold a sizable majority in the Congress and Senate in 08 then the Grass roots should launch a nationwide campaign to removed the bastards in 2010.

I like a variety of people it makes life interesting and you always learn something about people. But I don't care for this lady in Miami. I read that should wouldn't support others to office unless they were Cuban. They have some kind of deal. I don't know if its true. But she was a Hillary supporter and that is enough said for me.

The Dem congresscritters are too busy with their lips wrapped bipartisanly around the nearest Repub. To hear them talk on t.v. "news" shows, you would think they want nothing more than for a Repub to allow them to call him/her their best friend.

Debbie was a progressive as long as it helped her attain some kind of status. Now, she's just On The Pad. There's no other way to explain much of her behavior outside of those three words. Well, another option is: More Ego Than Principles.

Give me a break. The Democratic Party is controlled by a coalition of Israel-first Jews, Ivy Leaguers, and conservative Southern evangelicals.
