In 2006 your donations through Blue America helped elect 13 new Democrats to Congress : Senators John Tester (D-MT), Ben Cardin (D-MD), and Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Congressmmebers Mike Arcuri (D-NY), Bruce Braley (D-IA), Chris Carney (D-PA), Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY), John Hall (D-NY), Paul Hodes (D-NH), Jerry McNerney (D-CA), Patrick Murphy (D-PA), Ciro Rodriguez (D-TX), and Joe Sestak (D-PA). We also helped set up races for this November for Victoria Wulsin (D-OH), Eric Massa (D-NY), Larry Kissell (D-NC), Charlie Brown (D-CA). And then, of course there was Donna Edwards, our proudest achievement of all, who won her primary and then a special election and is now a Congressman from Maryland-- the only member of Congress with a 100% progressive score across the board.

Last night Blue America had its second big win of 2008 when Memphis Congressman Steve Cohen beat back a vicious, racist, anti-Semitic attack by the reactionary Harold Ford Machine. Cohen beat right-wing Democrat Nikki Tinker 79.34-18.64%, sending a message that Republican messaging does not work in Democratic primaries. Abandoned by Inside the Beltway operations like the DCCC-- as well as by Speaker Pelosi-- and even up against a now chastened and embarrassed EMILY's List, the assistance Cohen got from progressive CBC members like Jesse Jackson, Jr and John Conyers plus help from netroots allies like Blue America, helped him meet the challenge. We won; let's keep it going. Please consider making a donation today to the most vulnerable of the Blue America incumbents, our steadfast friend, Carol Shea-Porter (D-NH), who is being pummeled by the GOP front group, Freedom's Watch. We can't afford to lose someone of the calibre of Carol. There aren't many like her. If you have anything to spare, even $5 or $10 is very much appreciated. It's small donors who made the difference in all of our wins and it's going to be small donors who give Carol the chance she needs to get her message out. Here's the Blue America ActBlue page, open 24/7.

Yeah; no luck here in PHX either.

Please help elected LT Col Charlie Brown of CA 4th CD.

He's been nominated and we know he'll do in the election but it's going to be a tough election and the guy he's running against is a heartless bastard.

This is how its going to get done!!! Thanks for the update Howie.

The DCCC ? Um. Isn't Debbie Lieberman Schultz part of the leadership of this organization. The same Debbie Lieberman Schultz who is refusinng to assist fellow Democrat Annette Taddeo over incumbent Republican Ilena Ros-Lehtinen? What is with these assholes?

phx here....site was up and down all day....back up now..woohooo.....

Oh, it is nice to have you back on line. What was up with that?

Whoo Hoo Howie! Rahm Emanuel stinks and ought to be drummed out of the Democratic Party, sooner than later.

Go Go Go Cindy, one the way to removing a Quisling!!!

Cohen is a gem and this is a very, very good sign from Obama that he won't put up with divisive, DLC politics. It's not about color, it's about character and judgment.

Let's start channeling money to Cindy Sheehan in her campaign against Bush arch-enabler Nancy Pelosi. She is a disgrace to the Democratic Party and to everything progressives hold dear. Sheehan would be a tremendous improvement over the pathetic Pelosi, a disgrace to San Francisco if there ever was one.

We seem to have bad luck with politicians here in TN. They're either nutjobs, right-wingers or both. But Cohen is top notch. Glad to live in his district.

Not to mention by the Manchester Union-Leader -- the biggest daily paper, circulation-wise, in NH and a print version of FOX "news." The Republicans are trying, by any lies possible, to get rid of first-term Rep. Shea-Porter and reinstall the corporate lobbyists' best friend, former Republican Representative Jeb Bradley. If you have a even five bucks to donate to Carol's reelection campaign, please do. Carol is a true Progressive and the kind of Representative we need to keep in the House if we are ever going to have not just this Democratic majority, but a Progressive majority.

I am way over my limits in the donation dept., but I intend to keep donating to these wonderful people, to get rid of this slime, we now have.

I don't live in California anymore and I can't vote for Cindy Sheehan, but you better believe I gave her money and I am so dame glad that it appears that others are thinking smart, like me.

If we all just give a few dollars, it wont hurt anyone, but it will help get good people in office.

So Steve Cohen won in a majority black district...again. What was that Jesse Lee Peterson said on Hannity and Co.:..."most blacks, not all, but most in Tennessee, and especially in Memphis, Tennessee area, are still living in the '50s and '60s. They are so racist that they don't even realize that white Americans have moved on, and so whenever there is a campaign like this, such as this, they always use racism in order to intimidate white Americans."

Amen, apathy is our worst enemy. Go Donna! Go Steve! They prove that no lie will stand forever.
