Next week, John McCain will attend the fundraiser for his campaign, which is being hosted by a close ally of Jack Abramoff, Ralph Reed:
“John McCain believes in a strong national defense, a smaller, more accountable government, steady economic growth and opportunity, the dignity of life and traditional values,” wrote Reed, whose 2006 campaign for lieutenant governor sank under the weight of evidence detailing his relationship with Washington lobbyist Jack Abramoff — much of it uncovered by McCain’s Indian Affairs Committee. The CREW article goes on to mention the damning e-mail correspondence between Reed and Abramoff and wonders if John McCain should reconsider being associated with Reed, (pictured above, center with Jack Abramoff and imprisoned ex-Rep. Bob Ney) who was knee deep in the Abramoff scandal and is a shining example of Republican corruption during the Bush years.

Ralph Reed makes my skin crawl, and he ought to make John McCain's skin crawl too. But John McCain needs the money, and he needs any support from the Christian Right he can get. Any support from anybody, it looks like.

This certainly seems like McCain handing Obama an elephant gun and saying, shoot me. Please.
McCain is truly brain-dead to associate himself openly with a criminal like Ralph Reed.
His attendance at Reed's fundraiser would make a terrific Obama campaign commercial. Some footage of McCain sharing a podium with Reed would instantly disprove every 'Maverick', 'reformer', 'straight-talk' myth.
Does anyone in the Democratic party have the common sense to capitalize on such an obvious opportunity?

Notice Grover Norquist the brains of crimes and racism isn't joining his buddies. While the Republicans have been stealing and committing crimes and now trying to get away with it our boy Grover married a Middle Eastern woman of color. OMG yes a racist married a colored woman. Grover didn't have any luck with American woman while he was bringing in the big bucks with his crime wave on K Street. But like other KKK members it's the heart that's weak and colored woman seem to fit the bill. So Reed is back to continue the movement to do away with minorities while Grover well he's found a wan and just might leave the USA and live overseas. McCain is so dim-witted and so deeply lost in irredeemable corruption that he doesn't even have the good sense to be ashamed. Without a sense of shame, he's too clueless to even think about trying to disguise his corruption. He's headed for a fall of his own making. When it happens, he's going to be completely shocked. Only after the fact will it occur to him to make empty protests about his innocence and what a fine, upstanding man he is. The man has a cesspit for a mind.
I'd call McCain a douchebag, but he's too pathetic to even meet that in-the-mud standard.
