McClellan begs Obama: Don't investigate us

Scotty asks Obama not to investigate his peeps in the White House if he wins in November because it will taint Obama.
Scott McClellan advises Obama, in an interview with my colleague Daniel Libit, not to investigate the Bush Administration -- because it would, McClellan says, damage Obama's image...read on

NO! Not me! Don't look at me! He did it.
Didn't one of Obama's advisers say the same thing? Wouldn't surprise me if he followed the advice.
You know Scottie, I had faith in you since you wrote the book. Now that's shot. Is there somehow you will be held accountable for the lies you told during your tenure as a Bush flunkie? Bush should be subjected to the law like everybody else. Period!
C'mon Scotty, don't be such a kidder. I mean really, c'mon...be straight with us, you already know that Cheney has shredded all the documents and had all the tapes destroyed...don't cha?
really? [Deleted. Rape 'jokes' aren't funny. Don't post them on this site-Sitemonitor]
McClellan's right, of course. The Democrats' polite decision to drop all the Iran-Contra investigations worked out perfectly, since none of the people involved like Elliot Abrams or John Negroponte or John Poindexter etc. ever troubled our public sphere again, out of their moral shame at what they had been caught doing.
I for one certainly hope that if Obama is elected, the Bush mis-administration will be THOROUGHLY investigated and that ALL the cronies and crooks who committed crimes will be tried and jailed! We should, and NEED TO, show the world that we are above all a nation of law, and law that is applied EQUALLY not only to ordinary citizens but to ALL lawbreakers, regardless of position, influence or wealth. Right now all the world, including our own people, sees is tolerance for corruption, murder, and incompetence. It would not "damage Obama's image", it would enhance it a thousandfold to show that he is NOT going to tolerate or forgive the criminals who are running our nation now.
OK...No investigation for Chimpy's automatons...STRAIGHT TO PRISON!
Hasn't Obama essentially agreed with this position already ?
http://jonathanturley.org/2008/07/21/obama-adviser-cass-sunstein-rejects...
At least we've succeeded in protecting the Bushies from those horrible, vindictive Clintons.
I say investigate the excreta out of them so they can never hold public office again, unlike so many of the boosh officials.
But then again, voting for Obama makes me feel like we're voting our local mortician into higher offiice.
I suppose all this impacts what Obama wants to do, avenge and fix the past or fix the future. Sure Bush should be jailed but that wont fix the fix most of us are in. If Obama gets the goods on this crew (and that should not be difficult) it is a great sword over the head of the congressional GOP. If you think about it..there more be more value to Americans in a better future rather than a repaired past. Agreed..if Obama gets the goods and the GOP acts up...let the ax fall!

Don't kid yourself. That's probably a good enough reason for Obama.
It's not going to happen. The Democratic leadership is complicit in at least half of the crimes that were committed.
They may be unwilling partners, they may have been goaded into it, it might not have happened if they had had the White House, yes yes yes, there IS a difference between Democrats and Republicans just like there is a difference between abusers and abusers codependent victims.
But at the end of the day, flat out, the administration took congressfolk aside and said "we're planning on committing these crimes" and they said "fine with us."
So, we'll hear a lot about looking forward and not back. We'll hear a lot about it being a time to heal. We'll hear a lot about focusing on what binds us together instead of what separates us. We'll hear a lot about the importance of doing "the hard work."
And then the next president, McCain or Obama, and the next congress, Republican or Democratic, will sell what's left of this country to the Chinese, move their profits to Dubai, bury all the evidence under the now impenetrable fortress of "executive privilege."
And anyone who complains about it will be a "whiner" or a "partisan."
Justice isn't coming. It is simply not in the interest of ANYONE close to power to implement any sort of justice. Look at the sour discomfort on their faces when it's discussed. They're trying to figure out what kind of small bone they can throw us to get us to shut up about it.
Monica Goodling and Alberto Gonzales weren't enough? Are you people never happy? Okay, okay, I'll throw in Harriet Myers, but that's my final offer!
Now shut up and vote for the candidate who's been assigned to you. Wouldn't want to throw that vote away or anything.
John, please don't say beg. This is an exaggeration of McClennan's statement. As l much as i agree with you, which is 100%, we don't need to exaggerate to tell the damn Republican truth.

So sorry to have to inform you of this ; NOT investigating the most dishonest , unlawful and worst president and administration in US history would damage Obama's image .......
this is why bush is working hard to get mccain elected.
personally i have some concern.....obama has a lot to
overcome...bush/cheney/rove....wall street....oil....
super wealthy...evangelicals...military industrial complex
..and the inability of people to think on contrarian terms.
If Bill Clinton had allowed a few investigations to proceed or start up a couple of more, this country wouldn't have squandered the lives of four thousand of our best and brightest, a few hundred thousand Iraqis whose only crime was to try and live in their home country, pissed away a few trillion dollars and set us on a course that may yet end in a nuclear war.
Investigate the hell out of 'em. If they didn't do anything, fine...but if they did, who the hell cares what their apologists continue to say about it. History is riddled with those that never could admit when they were wrong.

No justice, no peace, no prosperity, no future.
Obama has to reroute this runaway train we call America.
The wheels are going to come off if the corruption and destruction and decay continue.
I plan on dying in this country, I would like it to be a peaceful death. I don't want to die in Civil War II fighting Blackwater.
The sick thing is McClellan is probably right. While I'd love to see all the Bushies trotted off to trial, then prison, most Americans would probably rather sweep it all under the rung and move on. Partly because if we actually brought these creeps to justice it might impress the rest of the world that we're a nation of law, and we can't be worried about making the USA look good to f'r'ners.

His biggest talking point when he was selling his book:
" The Administration was Corrupted by Washington's Permanent Campaign mentality "
I always suspected he was running political cover for his Boy
If the investigation would turn up something that actually could taint Obama, I think he should go full force and utilize the Clinton defense when it comes down to his trial by fire...Call that bluff....
Liberal AND Proud @ 4:
I'm a little past halfway this that book "What Happened?" and was unimpressed with the way the political message was apparently being massaged (at least to me) regarding the "permanent campaign" and how the way Rove handled himself were something of product of it? (I hope it gets better).
Is Scott's recent message a flag to frighten away any inquiries? If he is so concerned then maybe he should enlighten us as to why it could harm an innocent bystander like Obama?
Awwwww what a shame. Maybe they're afraid of THIS man:

So we don't have to investigate crimes *after* they happen? When then, dear Scottie, SHOULD we investigate crimes? Where's Tom Cruise and his pre-crime emeters when you need him?
Investigation/prosecution is the only way we're going to extract all the neo-cons that have been implanted into our goverment. I disagree that most 'Mericans don't want to see prosecutions and I use the 2006 elections as evidence of that.
It would taint Obama forever as a law abiding citizen.. NOT THAT!!!
This is hilarious. Taking political advice from "double facial" Scotty is like trusting a whore with your wallet.
It's going to take decades to fix the damage and destruction caused by this reich-wing administration. Obama will have his hands full.
NO, NO, NO!!!!
Look if laws were broken, that's it, bust em! If Bush, Cheney, et. al. are IN JAIL maybe the next President who wants to violate international conventions against torture, shred the Constitution, invade sovereign nations, etc. WON'T F#$%ING DO IT!

This is probably Scott McClellan's way of apologizing to BushCo for ratting them out. Pretty cheesy Scott!
constituent @ 17:
You've said a mouthfull there! The man and his family has more backbone that the entire Repug party! Obama's got them running scared too. Only if msm would actually do their job and remind the sheeple of McCain's flip flops, lies and total unsubstantiated bologna that comes from his mouth, then Obama would blow McSame right out of the water! I guess it's up to us to spread the word.
I for one would love to see the Democrats bridge the political divide should they win big this fall with a Republican witch-hunt.
If the situation was in reverse here you know that the Republicans would be all over a Dem. witch hunt in the interest of that permanent majority that they salivate for.
WTF? Seriously I hope that If Obama wins the proper investigation of all possible criminal acts of Bush administration will start and if the findings will be positive (and they will be!) then I expect criminal prosecution of all those responsible.
That's "begging"?
Investigating Bush's mess will make Obama look bad? Pot, meet kettle.
I say investigate it anyways. We need to do something to prevent us from making this damnfool mistake again in the future.
I don't think it would be President Obama's call to investigate the Bush-Cheney Gang or not.
I think it would be the new Congress' decision.
pissed off patricia @ 20:
Oh no. What a wonderful woman she was. She will be missed.
MountainMan23 @ 47:
Oh great.
With Buffalo Chip McCain up in the polls 5 points for the first time and the Obama camp seeming to lack a forceful, cohesive, attack Scottie might have nothing to worry about.
Obama, America can NEVER move on to bipartisanship as long as felonies were committed by the White House and they go unpunished. The Republicans can call it a "witch-hunt" if they wish, but it's time that ALL American administrations learn that they cannot break the law in significant ways and get away with it scott-free. An illegal invasion of Iraq, Bush-approved torture, and unConstitutionally spying on Americans are only the top offenses in my book.
Obama, if you let them walk away free, then no American citizen should be prosecuted for their felonies. You would be endorsing an uncontrollable tyrant and his bully-boys and girls, their illegal acts, and consigning America to anarchy. Is this what you want?
Obama should work with the Congress to create several non-partisan commissions, with subpoena power to investigate several different matters: certainly one on FISA law-breaking, and another on torture/war crimes related. As part of this, Obama should waive executive-privilege as a defense: surely an ex-administration no longer has any right to make an executive privilege claim since they are no longer part of the executive. The statute enabling the commissions should allow for their findings to be referred to DOJ attorneys so that egregious crimes could be prosecuted.
constituent @ 17:
Is that an elitist way of calling the common American voter an idiot?
There need to be investigations and public exposure, at the very least. A few convictions would be good, too, if warranted (as they probably are). If Nixon had been pursued after resignation, we might not have had Iran-Contra and the current gang. We're going to continue to have Cheneys, Addingtons and Roves as long as they know they can get away with it. Scotty's essentially saying, don't pursue justice or tell the truth, or the Republicans will look bad, and that will make Obama look vindictive...? I'm sure the media Villagers agree, since they only seem to care about affairs and gossip, not governmental misconduct and its dire consequences. Our current media crew wouldn't have gotten as far as Watergate...
[Deleted Off topic-Sitemonitor]
Unless Obama himself wants his last weeks in office (always presuming he gets in) to be fraught with prosecutorial fervor, he won't be the first newly installed President who set the precedent of prosecuting his predecessor or any of the criminal Boooosh minions...
Likely, if he gets in, he'll fail to reverse ANY of the trends set in motion these last 40 years by the list of imperial presidents starting with Nixon, and including both of the Dims who held office during that period...
So there'll be plenty of calls to unseat or impeach him rolling around by 2011 or so.
Remember the Nixon-Clinton payback?
What do you think will happen to Obama if he takes down the Chimp, even after he's out of office?
MountainMan23 @ 47:
Having said that, I do think there would be more important things for the New Government to do.
So I agree the New Government should not get bogged down in an investigation.
On the other hand, a slow methodical investigation that went on for years and dovetailed with other governments' and individuals' efforts to bring the Bush-Cheney Gang to justice -- THAT would be great.
Like roasting them all slowly over a {deleted before the site monitor sees it}.
The bottom line will Obama even get a chance to be in a position to consider this option...
Hate to be pessimistic but sometimes I just wonder if we are going to have the rug pulled out from under us again....
[Deleted Off topic-Sitemonitor]
Obama, America can NEVER move on to bipartisanship as long as felonies were committed by the White House and they go unpunished.
I agree completely but, based on Obama's statements, it sounds like he would not pursue a criminal investigation against the Bushies. He misguidedly calls that the "politics of the past". I think it will be up to an international court to bring war crimes indictments, but the Bushies domestic lawlessness will, unfortunately, go unpunished.

this administration has conducted secretive policy without the will of the people. they have been somewhat effective at convincing people that the congress/legislative branch is at fault.....this congress
is looking at a record amount of filibusters. something that mcClellan said earlier about perpetual politicization
struck me every move the (R) have made they considered the oppositions take/move. they have a strategy for every possibility. they are definitely behind getting mccain in office. what's interesting to me is that
bush who was a weak candidate beat out mccain. obama is smarter than the two them together.
If scotty really wants to help he needs to camp[aign for Obama in swing states.
Let me be the first to say ... IMPEACH OBAMA!
Here's the video of the actual statement. http://www.tagg-lines.com/2008/08/here-video.html
President Clinton couldn't get away with an improper (but legal?) BJ and the GOP Congress impeached him for it. Why should BUSHCo get a free pass from a DEM Congress?
[Deleted Off topic-Sitemonitor]
Richard @ 11:
tell me why its an either or dilemma? you assert in your opening line that there are only two paths to take. obama will surround himself with competent men and women to rebuild the departments and agencies have been drowned in the bathtub under bush II. a sharply focused doj can operate independently from all of the other massive rebuilding efforts that will no doubt take place under obama.
if there is one thing bush II has done exceptionally well, it is micromanage the doj. if obama is who he wishes us to believe he is, then he will cede control to a competent constitutional lawyer. a man or woman not unlike jonathan turley, a constitutional law professor from georgetown university.

From what I read in his book let's just say he's apparently pretty good at placing situations in a light that is more comfortable with the best possible face. I'm only half-way through the novel, did anyone else read it and is it consistent with his apparent view regarding Obama's potential investigations into the Bush administration?...
The further along we get in this election, the more fearful I am that McCain will win. It seems the media is so ready to throw Obama under the bus and convince the general public to vote McCain. It's the same fear-mongering bullshit we've seen for 8 years. That and the theocracy we are turning into. The Rick Warren "civil forum" proves how detached from reality the general public is and how they don't really want to know the candidate or care for that matter. Sigh.

Even at the end of WWII, certain people in the US wanted the Nuremburg Trials stopped and all the Germans forgiven for Nazi war crimes. Wonder if one of them was Prescott Bush (say Fritz Thyssen three times, I dare you)?
Besides, Obama once he is elected by Democrats and liberals, will once again flip-flop. Obama will suddenly be against what his base wants, investigating the real national and international crimes of Bush/Cheney. Obama's pattern is to always to give away the candy store in the name of 'bipartisanship'. Bipartisanship in DC means the Democrats rollover and take it up the ass and agree to whatever the Republican right wing thugs wants, in exchange for absolutely nothing, no matter what. You know, like off shore drilling, where are coasts and our environment is not nearly as important as right-wing wingnuts want; FISTA, etc.
McClelland is channeling Arty Ziff from the Simpsons: ""Marge, I would appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone about my busy hands. Not so much for me, but I am so well respected, that it would damage the town."
Well, we certainly wouldn't want the US Congress to do something that would be
"very divisive" now would we??!!
Tom is right.
Bi-partisan means a GOP dick in you ass.
Please like they worry about Obama's Image
This Admin is the biggest disgrace in American History
If we don't investigate, these illegal activities will be continued behind closed doors.

Did you hear? The war we started in Iraq for supposed terrorism (instead of finding Osama in Afghanistan) just got even more ridiculous. We know Bush admin wants the oil and is spending billions. Have a laugh look were its gotten us now.
"Iraq will sign a $1.2 billion oil service contract with China"
If finalized, the revised deal would be the first oil service contract signed by the new Iraqi government since the fall of Saddam in 2003.

Wave and smile boys, wave and smile....
I doubt Obama will pursue this, and it is a shame. These criminals need to be hounded to their graves.
The culture of corruption Republicans viciously went after the Clintons in the 1990s, conducting one fishing expedition after another, starting with a failed land deal from twenty years earlier in which the Clintons actually lost money.
Then, Bush ran in 2000 as a uniter, not a divider.
Immediately upon entering the White House, with Cheney, in January 2001, Bush launched vicious attacks against anything and anyone liberal (or not conservative enough). Thus, over almost eight years, we've seen crime after crime committed by Republicans, as they've sought to purge from our federal government anything or anyone liberal (or not conservative enough).
And so now, certain Republicans who've participated in these Republican crimes against nature, against humanity, against God, against Jesus Christ, against our liberal democracy, over the past eight years are trying to cover their corrupt tracks by advising "law and order, rule of law" Democrats to go easy on all the culture of corruption Republicans soon to leave the White House. You know, issue them all "get-out-of-jail-free" cards, turn a blind eye to all the damage they've done to our liberal democracy in pursuit of their incredibly insane, Fascist goal of a "permanent Republican majority."
This call by Republicans, which no doubt will be repeated over and over again through their MSM propagandist mouthpieces, dovetails with the culture of corruption Republicans in the White House packing of our federal judiciary with a bunch of anti-rule of law, anti-democracy, pro-Fascist Republican hacks.
Only one name comes to mind to describe these "permanent majority" Republicans, willing to cut any corner, commit any crime, to get their way: The Mafia...who no doubt, too, would love to pack the courts with Mafia-friendly judges...or have a bunch of MSM talking heads calling for the MOB not to be investigated and charged with any crimes committed by the MOB.
Pelosi and Reid won't consider impeachment of two of the most corrupt and vile Republicans ever to befoul our White House. And now, Republicans are begging the Democratic Party's candidate for president, if elected, to hand out these desperately-sought "get-out-of-jail-free" cards to all the outgoing Republicans behind all the crimes committed over the past eight years...going against the wishes of a vast majority of patriotic Americans (Democrat, Republican and Independent) who want to see justice done (and not just a few investigations and charges brought against a few low-level Republican hacks -or soldiers-, like we've seen happen over the past eight years as top, corrupt Republican officials tried to hide their crimes).
In the Democratic primaries, I waited and waited for one of the Democratic Party candidates to pledge, if elected president, to launch immediate and thorough investigations into their corrupt predecessor's administration. I'm still waiting. Otherwise, the obstruction of justice and the cover-up will continue, with all the damage done to our nation left unaddressed... at least for another four more years. (I would have a hard time voting for Barack Obama again if he doesn't spend his first four years standing up for the rule of law and vigorously and tenaciously gong after all the corrupt neo-con Republicans responsible for all this right-wing, Fascist obscenity visited upon our freedom-loving, liberal democracy).
The Oracle @ 108:
Well, you must have missed it then, because your wait should have ended 4 1/2 months ago. Please check the very last link in John's post: ("More at Will Bunch")

SOMEONE needs to investigate BushCO. The Bush family are war profiteers and traitors going back generations. For them, it's a family business to attack America. They are our biggest enemies.

To do that would mean that the Dems would be investigating themselves because they were complicit in the crimes. They signed off on Everything:
Torture
Wiretapping
"Rendering" US citizens
Suspending Habeas Corpus
That's why you get these staements from the Democrats in Congress:

What I would want to do is to have my Justice Department and my Attorney General immediately review the information that's already there and to find out are there inquiries that need to be pursued. I can't prejudge that because we don't have access to all the material right now. I think that you are right, if crimes have been committed, they should be investigated. You're also right that I would not want my first term consumed by what was perceived on the part of Republicans as a partisan witch hunt because I think we've got too many problems we've got to solve.
"...information that's already there" No new investigations...just review what's "already there". There is no "there" there. You think that Gonzales and Mukasey prepared a big file with the all the evidence collated and indexed...ready to hand over??

stop it you're killing me scotty.
Impeachment should never have been taken off the table, all the Bushie criminals should be strapped to a table. I pray Obama will start to heal this country by imprisioning these criminals.
Gallows in the Rose Garden!
I'm a Obama supporter from the gitgo and I would vote for MKKKane if he promised to the world and American people that he would lead the prosecution of the Bush administration for war crimes.
If Obama wants to be the President he says he wants to be he'll investigate the crimes of the current White House. I don't have faith he will do that as he will fold like Pelosi for the money. Americans will see just what Obama is really made of. Think if our Leaders hadn't investigated Nixon nothing would have happen and crimes would have continued. Americans need to know the truth if not when the United Nations brings War Crimes it will come out anyway.
MilitantMama @ 94:
Keep praying.
it don't matter. bush will pardon everyone in his admin when he leaves office. He'll pardon them for anything they've ever done, are doing or will do.
crooks.
The Oracle @ 72:
Unless the Democrats "disempower" the Republicans determined to protect the Bush administration beyond January 2009, they will continue to scare the shit out of Democrats. One must ignore them and move ahead with a progressive agenda to strip them of power, certainly not cave in to their fear-mongering. Until they are as ineffectual as the Democrats have been, the Democrats will not have done their job of getting America back on track with a Constitutional structure and the rights guaranteed by the Bill of Rights.
The way to make bipartisanship "work" is to get the country back on track and then invite anyone who is willing to support a lawful and constitutional government to join forces with the Democrats. You certainly don't join forces, and call it "bi-partisanship", with those who would destroy what you're trying to build.
For me it Started when they failed to prosecute Richard M Nixon...We seem to go down hill then when it came to Politicians. If I'm correct the courts have ruled that it is up to the voters to determine truth and falsehood when it comes to Politicians and then the Fox court case said the MSM doesn't have to provide you with the truth. That shall leave a misinformed elect.

First, off I believe what Mike was trying to say was the Iran Contra that was never properly investigated. Secondly, we need to stop figuratively sucking Clinton's dick just because he was better than Reagan and Bush I. Honestly, Bush I started NAFTA but Clinton ran with it and got it past. Remember when you could buy clothing or anything else that was Made in America and can hardly find any Made in America now, thank Clinton for that, also when Clinton was handing out pardons did he try to rectify the mistakes made in the governments past regarding innocent Black Panthers and Leonard Pellitier, innocent men sentenced to life in prison because of their revolt against the establishment and willingness to stand up for their people, no he hands them out to rich, white white collar criminals. Harsh sentencing for drug crimes and Rowanda. Not to mention the basic fact that he should have just said, Yeah, I got head in the Oval Office and that is between me, my Wife and the cock sucker. End of story, instead he debated the definition of the word it like a five year old caught coloring on the wall.
The point is that we should demand investigation into corrupt government for those who do not want to end corruption in government will only seek to exploit that corruption.

I agree. That the Democrats are complicit and fearful of that complicity is the only reason for refusing to impeach the Bush administration that makes any sense whatsoever. And it's obvious with their patronizing statements about what it would do to "Americans". Who is fooled by such statements? Far worse is done to Americans by allowing the perpetrators to walk.
Wow, I missed the flame war.. Good! I am really tired of people citing polls too. Pavlovian, truly. I would like to think Obama's AG might go after the Booosh crime family but I am naturally skeptical that this will happen. Maybe I'm Pavlovian too. To the future, I'll drink to that and silently yet gleefully envision Bush's war crimes trial in The Hague. Hell, I'd send him pretzels again.
Obamas answer to this question is the same kind of bull-shit,run-around answer he gave for voting for the FISA bill. I take McClellans "advice" as vealed threat to warn off any ideas Obama might have about investigating bushs shit-house( we got a little something on you, and we will tell if), not that Obama gave it any thought. Vote out all congress persons sitting before 06, dem or rep who are up for re-election this year, that will thin the herd of crooks enough to go after the rest and reform our government back to the hands of the people. Not investigate? Why the hell are we even talking about it, let the murder of 4500 of our fellow citizens and untold number of human beings around the world go un-punished? Who here would be willing to let the rape and murder of one or more of their kids go without the criminal being caught and jailed, same damn thing, except bush has done much much worse. We put people in prison for smoking pot and yet we talk of letting these fucking killers walk free or not investigated! And we call the french"pussys". Investigate every bit of evidence to where ever and who ever it goes, no matter what! And if congress can't do more than one thing at a time, than they need a change of jobs: Protecting or harboring a criminal is a crime and makes you a criminal as well.--CEO

Ding ding ding! We have a winner!
What's Scottie worried about? The do-nothing Congress has already granted his wish. Sigh.
The Dems are as corrupt as the president, vice president and the members of the cabinet and staff and advisors. Obama is hand picked and devoid of integrity also. Anyone want to prove me wrong? Please.
Obama is not stupid to investigate Bush Regime, cause life depends on it. You think I'm kidding? No!
He is no fool.I thought in 2000 that Bush would go after Billy Goat Clinton---fat chance,he covered for him. That brings me to why Pelosi is not impeaching--both gangs are accomplices in putting fear in Americans
zugzug @ 129:
Pre-emptive pardons are pretty rare but not unconstitutional.
John - really disappointed by the Democratic Party @ 138:
"Obama is hand picked and devoid of integrity". How about "proving" yourself right?

well barack cant go after these warmongers , because hes bought into forevermore war in afganistan, hes worried if he goes after the other warmongers he,ll look bad sending more to die in afganistan for a bush lie,

Added to the list of things againt Obama is also the Racists who like to lynch him. The MSM could make it clear, but it won't.
MSM belongs to the people Cheney/Bush are working for, its doing its job for them, MSM is not a public utility. Obama is Republican lite and may surprise us by being aggressive law inforcer but more likely will be a Jerry Ford, and pardon them for the good of the country.
So according to the crime family, uncovering their crimes will make the investigator look bad? I don't think so. That is logic as flawed as the Crime Family policies and performance.
If Obama pulls a Nancy Pelosi, that will be grounds for his own impeachment.
"Scott McClellan advises Obama, in an interview with my colleague Daniel Libit, not to investigate the Bush Administration — because it would, McClellan says, damage Obama’s image"
That is a mere speculation.
On the contrary, it may enhance OBAMA’s leadership and image as a ONE LEADER that will not trample the U.S. Constitution and would ESTABLISH that HE IS the CHANGE our nation has been waiting for (out of the STATUS QUO) that would fight and DRAW OUT “evil” politics.
IT WOULD show that OBAMA is for the enforcement of CIVIL LAWS and will NOT see himself “ABOVE” the LAW or “ABOVE” the U.S. Constitution of our nation.
To put this ISSUE at rest with the “EVIL” ones; OBAMA should play his CARD to the GAME the only way the EVIL-DOERS….knows how to play them----until he ACTUALLY WINS the Presidency; which to give them what they want at the MOMMENT. Promise NO investigation.
He can then reverse his position AFTER he WINS election and hold these CROOKS and LIARS to account. LET the LEGAL SYSTEM bring them to JUSTICE for the CRIMES they have committed to our NATION. This is the ONLY WAY…to deal with these ruthless people….IS to BEAT THEM AT THEIR OWN GAME.
THE EXECUTIVE BRANCH and the POWER of the PRESIDENCY was ALREADY BEEN UNPRECEDENTLY expanded by the former BUSH/CHENEY regime. THAT EXPANSION OF POWER will BACKFIRE to or bankrupt the politics and the Republican Party.
WHEN OBAMA WINS; he can use that power to restore back the LAW and end the LAWLESSNESS for the GOOD of the NATION.
IF McSame wins, he can EITHER restore the SAME LAWS or end BUSH/CHENEY regime lawlessness OR AMERICA CAN RISE to PUSH TO IMPEACH McCain IF he continues the ABUSES that AMERICA was facing in the PAST seven and a half years under the BUSH/CHENEY presidency.
TIME would be NOT AN ISSUE to pursue IMPEACHMENT against McCain; if he defies the WILL of the AMERICAN PEOPLE. I would not WORRY if he becomes the President as long as the DEMOCRATS has the MAJORITY of both HOUSE of CONGRESS with a SPEAKER the House that has the SPINE to do what is BEST for the PEOPLE and USA.
The current SPEAKER PELOSI has failed badly in her tenure

How in the world would this damage Obama’s image? Was he the one break the laws and pooping on the US Constitution?
