I've been posting the 'not tortured under the current rules' meme for months now.
JSHASP @ 1:
You're unpatriotic for even suggesting that McCain isn't really a hero! For Shame! SHAAAAAAAME!
McPain is torturing us.
+1 slacktivist.
And to think McCain is up 5 points in Zogby's poll. I think Americans are suffering from a total intellectual breakdown. To much inane bullshit clouding our newswaves and not enough truth. Why worry about the world when we want to hear about Britney and Lindsay? My, how low our society has fallen.
I'm BUSHED.
Yes indeed the great Dance of Death
Home-ownership has become a death dance, whole regions are turning into wastelands of "for sale" signs, empty parking lots, vacant buildings, and dashed hopes. And all this beats a path directly to a failure of collective national imagination.
P.D. @ 5:
We're not producing anything of value.
We're consumers of junk-crap.
P.D. @ 5:
Americans are too stupid to know when they are being pandered to. They are too stupid to know that to fight wars you need soldiers. They are too stupid to know that if you fight with "privatized armies" that those armies have to get paid for.
Americans are children.
I can't even post today I am so pissed off. I'm starting to think that a) either Obama doesn't really want to win this thing, b) that he's being paid off to lose, c) or that real elections are officially dead in this country. Or a combination of all of the above.
Gosh, what a fucking mess has been made of this country. Thirty years of this bullshit.
Honestly, I hope the whole freakin' thing collapses under its own weight.
Re: Obama's not the anti-christ.
This is really a no-brainer. If they represent Obama as the anti-christ, then fundies must vote for him to speed us on our way to the End Times. Of course, this could be a good reason to argue that McCain is the anti-christ.
I hope that that wrinkled up old bastard does win.
I want the entire economy to collapse. I hope he does extend the war and that a draft is initiated.
Woo Hoo! Obama not the Anti-Christ means the job is up for grabs!
*jumps up and down*
Oooh! Ooh! Pick Me! Pick Me! Oooh! Oooh!
I'd be a great Anti-Christ! Pick Me! Pick Me!
In all fairness, Obama got a lot of media coverage on his European tour which McCain spent a lot of time pouting in response to.
I think the polls will be up and down for a while and when they go head to head McCain is going down hard.
Damn i hate to repost
P.D., L.A. Confidential
Funny you should say that. People are furious about the polls and say media is at fault. Has anybody else gotten this email? I’ve gotten 2 Emails already.
Summary: People are fed up with MSM and covering for McCain (probably why he’s up 5 points). They are asking everyone to protest by not watching the MSM for a week starting Aug 29 (McCain’s VP announcement day) to Sep 5 (just in time to see Maddow start on the 8)
It’s basically a sit out; they want ratings to drop and to send a msg that were not going to listen to lies.
I guess if you support, they ask to spread this msg
I don’t think it will work but I’ll give it a try because can we really afford to have McCain elected. I see outrage on the blogs all the time but people hardly donate or get active enough to change anything but this even the laziest person can do.

Shit, I'll stop watching tonite.
Thanks so much for the link Mike! It's always a filthy little thrill to catch a nod from C&L!

Hillary is worried that she would be too old to run in 2012.
Hell, if we put the CryptKeeper in the White House, by 2012 the nation will think Hillary is too young and inexperienced.
Liberal AND Proud @ 15:
Same here! So...by boycotting MSM for a week...does that mean NO teevee at all?
'Cause I gotta have my TDS and Colbert Report...if nothing else.
Oh...and here's a little somethin I rounded up for dennis in another thread...y'all might enjoy it.

Hoping the dissection of SADDLEBACK and it's potential outcomes (or actual, actually) will bring comfort on a cold January morning when McShame raises his hand to take the oath! I seem to remember that Kerry was touted as more intelligent, thoughtful, deliberative (and, yes, wordy), along with more honest and trustworthy...but WHO IS THAT IN THE WH today???? All the HOPE in the world didn't help in that one, did it? And, as long as we have a poorly informed, celebrity obsessed, non-thinking electorate to depend on during our elections we will NOT more into a NEW WORLD OF POSSIBILITIES...Have fun!
I sent in a comment about religious plurality in America. I am willing to put money on the fact that i do not think they will publish my comment, not that I said ANYTHING that was derogatory about religion, I just think that the US Gov doesn't want people like me around (we're uncontrollable).
Here is my comment:
I read figures constantly about the amount of people who are/are-not religious and it seems to me that when asked if people have a religion they somehow feel under pressure to give an affirmative answer.
I am not a believer and know many others who are not, but I only know that because I am outspoken about it. I used to have a fear of “coming out” as it were and called myself an Agnostic until finally I just said I’m a non-believer, an Atheist. Most who finally admit they are feel a feeling of freedom. They don’t need a reason to be nice to everyone and care about the environment, they just are nice because it feels good.
Now I can say I’m really saved, saved from the mostly bent opines of Pastors, Priests or others who misrepresent themselves as spokesmen for the whichever god they have.
Thanks for the look,
Shiva
What do you think, publish or not? (small bets only and in Crooks and Liars currency only)
☻Bangkok Bob ☺ @ 21:
Don't mean to confuse, but my comment is the part that started with "I read figures"
liberalNModeration @ 18:
LOL
I like "Aug 29 (McCain’s VP announcement day)" since McCain wants to steal Obama's shine after the convention. Lets steal the attention back!
We can't seem to stop the damn GOP narratives or Faux news. We blog, send angry letters, we can't do anything legally and we promise never to watch CNN again (we do anyways)
BUT HELL I CAN MANAGE A WEEK WITH OUT MSM, They are just going to lie for a week anyways.
Aug 29 to Sept 5 consider this my political vacation
excuse, me i have some friends to email.
Liberal@9, I understand the fustration at MSM. Listening to the fools on C-Span makes me want to scream. These people have no concept what the Bush Adminstartion has done to this country. They stick their fingers in their ears, telling themselves everything is going to be fine. And when our society collaspes they will be the first ones scraming "It's the LIBERALS fault!" Worthless and ignorant, everyone of them.
One of the stupidest damn things I've ever heard is the idea that some citizens have that Sen. Obama is the anti-christ! Its just stupid! Assuming you believe in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, Savior, etc. and that there is, in fact, an anti-Christ waiting to lead Satan's minions on the day of Armageddon (yeah, whatever), what makes you think an anti-christ would NEED to win an election to destroy this country or the world. BushCo has done a fine job of this and nobody's calling him the anti-christ. Well, some of you are but the argument still applies.
Of course McCainchurian wasn't tortured. He coughed before the Vietcong laid a finger on him and willingly made pro-communist propaganda.
Go watch the movie "Volunteers". John "Songbird" McCainchurian is a living example of John Candy's fictional character.
That first item is awesome. I've posted about it on my blog.
displeased @ 2:
According to bushco he wasn't tortured, so explain your comment please.
There must be VP betting pools in the press pools...
mike @ 28:
mike, i think displeased was being facetious.
On McCain being tortured, I thought that he broke several bones upon being shot down and his captors gave him little or no medical care. (Would you?) I can't recall ever hearing that he had spikes driven under his fingernails and so on. Obviously he had no damage done to his ability to reproduce.
