I'm off to Denver

Sorry for the light blogging the last few days, but I've been getting ready to go to the land of Colorado. It will be pretty crazy in Denver, but it should be very, very interesting.  I can't wait to meet so many of my on-line friends and party activists for the first time. I'll try to grab a few interviews and represent the Progressive movement as best as I can.

You know traveling  isn't my favorite thing to do, but this is a historic event....

Obama's text message campaign was a great move and immensely successful. Even FOX was camped out at  Biden's house giving him the Anna Nicole Smith treatment.

Please, please let us know where you will be camped out in Denver so that I can come and say hello. I live in Denver and would dearly love to shake your hand and thank you for this site.

Have fun and avoid groups of idiots wearing v for vendetta masks.

Hey John I hope you are not a smoker, I hear mile high Denver is hard on smokers, anyway good luck and play nice!

Safe travels, John.

btw:

The republican crowing about Biden opposing Obama's foreign policies is easy to rebuff and hand back:

Only fools don't change their mind, only fools can still believe invading Irak was a good idea: Now, does Mr. McCain still believe invading Irak was a good idea?

Good Luck!

Try not to get herded into a "free speech" zone.

share photographs!

Denver, where the good guys finally stand together and smite the bad guys a death's blow. Sounds like it's right out of the Stephen King book, "The Stand".

Oh and Bon Voyage, John. Stay safe.

My text message never came (SF, CA bay area). Anyone else? Just curious...

Don't step in the obama-biden crap we would like to see you back here.

Mine too Pittsburgh area. I was wonder if its because I voted for Clinton in the primary and they used the new FISA privileges to find that out?

Oops I forgot this bit: "As of this writing, Fournier appears to be available for booking through the All American Talent & Celebrity Network's website. I called to confirm that he was still listed with the agency, but I haven't heard back yet."

Hehe, I just got back from Denver. There were a lot of Obama bumper stickers and zero McCain stickers. There were a rare few McCain yard signs but there were more McCann yard signs (some woman running for local office). People were probably confused and picked up some McCain signs by accident.

John,
Thanks for all you do. Be careful.

Have fun, and stay well!

Have a great trip and stay safe. Looking forward to hearing all of the news from Denver. Exciting times, indeed !

ps, Saint Augustine, you are too funny.

ONLY REASONS FOX WAS CAMPED IN FRONT OF BIDEN'S HOUSE....

1. The heard Paris Hilton was going to be there
2. They mistakenly thought it was one of the McCain 10 HOUSES
3. They were asking for directions
4. They accidently hired a real reporter--- but he will be fired upon reentry
5. All the cool kids were going to be there, and FAUX wanted to be a cool kid too

Thank You, I couldn't have survived the Bushco administration without Mary Jane.

In one of his movies, W.C. Fields' character was asked why he had never married? He answered, "I was in love with a beautiful blond once, twas she who drove me to drink, That's the one thing in life I'm indebted to her for."

To paraphrase him I"ll say, It was my 2nd wife who first introduced me to pot (I was 29). I am indebted to her for that!

My republiscum friend from whom I used to buy my pot once said, "It is a lot easier to survive times when your money is tight if you have pot than it is to survive times of fortune with no pot.

LOL !!! Great stuff ! (Pun intended.)

Okay, I'm an actual Hillary supporter (as opposed to one of the lunatics who says that they're going to vote for McSame) and I've got to say that the text message thing was an unmitigated failure. Not because it wasn't Hillary's name in the text message but because Biden telegraphed for three days that he was the pick. Talk about an anti-climax!

Biden can't stay on his own message (much less Obama's), he can't keep a secret and he rambles on at length about everything. He's a one-man filibuster -- which would be fine if a presidential campaign were a filibuster, but it's not.

And I'd be blasting the Biden pick even if Hillary had won the nomination and picked him. "We don't need both Bill Clinton *and* Bill Clinton without a sex scandal. One Bill Clinton at a time is enough."

-- Rob

PS: On the other hand, picking Biden is a pretty funny way of Obama saying to McSame, "I can beat you with one arm tied behind my back."

Which, of course, will prompt McSame to say something stupid.

Which, of course, will result in a reminder from the McSame Campaign that John McSame doesn't speak for the McSame Campaign.

PPS: On the other other hand, since Biden can't stop talking, we'll have in Biden the anti-Cheney, a vice-president who's incapable of lurking in the shadows. The good news is, we'll know where he is at all times. The bad news is, we'll know where he is at all times. Y'don't suppose that Biden could serve as both Vice-President and Press Secretary?

Just out of curiosity how could he have telegraphed it for three days when he only learned Thursday evening that he had been selected as VP, approx 1.25 days before the announcement came out.

I've found his inability to restrain himself for this entire past week to be interesting, too.

Welcome to Denver John. This is going to be a great party. Enjoy the town.

Travel well JA. And watch your wallet, ya never know.
I think you're right about the move by Obama on the media. He had them camped at Bidens house all night, and had them all working on a weekend. Right before the convention. Yeah, that was pretty damn cool of him to do that to the media.
It tells them, mess with me, and I'll make you pay all kinds of overtime and run up your labor costs. Of course some of them are on salary, and they won't be too happy about working more than usual. Not that they get it right. They just don't like to actually work, and get to the facts. They like to sit at their desks and read blogs, then make their minds up as to what is a fact. And for the ones down on the street.Same. They just want to make it as easy as they can on themselves. Another Donut? SURE! and how about some coffee.: )

I miss John Denver!

They were told not to be hassling people with marijuana - Denver voted to decriminaliize it in '06. The mayor said to honor the vote (although state and federal laws still apply). As for the "Gitmo on the Platte" it's a precaution that any city would take - for those that don't want to go there - don't break the law. Worse than NY? Your kidding, right?

C&L'ers, remember to visit The Young Turks throughout the convention for live video and commentary. Hey, nobody does it like Cenk, and you never know who will stop by for a chat...

"We love ya, Denver! City by the Bay!"

John I hope your taking a train, by taking a plane your hurting your carbon footprint...

>Don't forget to look both ways before crossing the street, and always, always, eat all your veggies.

Good luck, John: I hope you return with the
optimism that will reflect in November & Obama
is our new president. Take care.
