Hopefully at some point during this, education will be mentioned. After about half a dozen cities held teacher protests to start the first day of school, I'd say it might be a pressing issue for some voters.

Ha! Ha! NBC just played Bush's address to the Convention and it was a direct feed with NO applause at all. Nada. Absolute silence. He just paused during the speech for the applause that NOBODY at home could hear. Tom B and Brian W had to apologize and explain the situation but I don't think it's going to help. I expect the McCain camp to scream about this tomorrow, as if it's a conspiracy. I'm sure some heads are gonna roll for that!
Speaking as an engineer I am concerned that a scheduled bathroom break could severely test the sewage system there. These systems are not designed to handle a Republican type surge.

If you watch any of the RNC on CNN in HD, you'll notice that they're not employing that annoying little "Sound Meter" visual on the left-hand side of the screen like they did for the DNC. I'm sure this is because they used it to make the energy level at the DNC appear to be lower than it actually was by keeping the sound meter artificially low, no matter how raucous the crowd appeared.
With the RNC, the couldn't show it because it wouldn't even have registered ANY SOUND. The place looks like it's full of zombies or something; watch a bunch of stiffs.
I can see why they're bummed out, however: their brand is crap, their ideology bankrupt, and their candidates weak.
