So much for the well-publicized promises to "set aside partisan politics and festivities planned for the convention opening" and adopt "a more a subdued business-only tone in deference to Gulf Coast residents" due to the hurricane.

Hookers and Blow is a popular MPLS funk cover band. They play all the time and they are good. I recognize the hypocrisy, just don't want Hookers and Blow to get a bad name.
Maybe it was supposed to be like 'Scared Straight' or the xian "Hell House" on Halloween meant to show just how terrible it is when a party is knee deep in prostitutes, cocaine, and Rethuglicans.

Unlike some of you, I don't think the important news here is about repug partying, funny band names, or the proper demeanor during a hurricane. But the fact that ABC is reporting on this crap and actually holding a few feet to the fire is quite surprising!

That's because the people are just waiting to begin investigations about how the journalists and television news "aided and abetted" Bush's war crimes. There will be a witch hunt to end all witch hunts against anchors when that occurs. This electronic age is a marvel, is it not. Anchors are going to pass the buck to the network owner who sets the parameters for the propaganda pieces.

Bush called from Kennebunkport yesterday (the Rush Limbaugh Hate Show) and outed himself. He wasn't on alert near the place of the approaching hurricane, hell, he was half smashed off his rocker and that wasn't even noon eastern time. Pappy and Jebbie weighted in, too. At least Pappy had the class and dignity to keep the topic to golf; Chimpy coudn't resist and sandwiched between some phoney concern for the gulf coast, he had to lobby for oil drilling. What that had to do with his concern for the people hit by the storm is well beyond any logic.
Fact is (and it's coming out all over the media) Bush and McSame loathe each other so this storm was the perfect excuse for Chimpy to not lend himself to any of it. What's so important that he can't make a personal appearance now since the storm has passed? He castrated Johnny McForestal and then blackmailed him with his "real naval records" being made public. He still holds this over his head today.
Actually, I believe that when McSame and Reichstag Karl got into a pissing contest over the Veep slot (Reichstag wanted Romney; McSame wanted Lieberman), the "maver-dick" decided to pull the GOP trump card and remind them of what they did to him in 2000.
This is really getting comical and interesting. I have to keep checking the internet for the newest Palin Scandals and, of course, we already know about McSame's voting record and his own scandals - hey, where's Cindy's business partner these days - you know, Charles Keating??
