Sarah's even won the backing of the level-headed Rep. Michele Bachmann (R- MN) -- not exactly known for toeing the party line. Clearly, the liberal left realizes that it can't match this kind of unbridled enthusiasm for its candidate. So what are they doing? Attacking her character. Questioning her qualifications. Imagine a political group attacking an opponent because it can't win on the issues or the record. It's disgusting.

So let's set the record straight. Sarah Pahlen (sp?) is not only more qualified for the Oval Office than Barack Obama -- she might just be the most qualified political candidate in our nation's history:

1. Putting Country First - Her membership in the Alaska Independence Party proves that she's exactly the kind of leader America needs: the kind that will always put country first -- even if that country happens to be The Republic of Alaska. Obama claims he loves America -- but has he ever loved it enough to favor seceding from it? It's called tough love, Senator. Look into it.

2. Independence - Sarah hates indicted Senator Ted Stevens, but raised money for him. She hates the "bridge to nowhere," but supported it. She wants to shatter Hillary's glass ceiling, but wears t-shirts touting the size of her boobs. We're dealing with an innovative politician; one who refuses to be categorized. Obama may call himself the candidate of "change," but Sarah Pailen's (sp?) entire political life has been about saying one thing, and then doing another. Now that's "change we can believe in."

3. Family Values - This is someone who's not afraid to preach abstinence for your daughter, even though her own unmarried 17-year-old daughter is pregnant. This is someone who's not afraid to hop on a plane from Texas to Alaska while she's in premature labor. This is someone who's not afraid to hit the campaign trail with a 5-month-old special needs baby. That's what I call dedication to family. Obama, on the other hand? A Muslim.

4. Intellect - Yes, Sarah recently admitted that she didn't know exactly what it was the Vice President did. Yes, she wants creationism taught in public schools. Yes, she doesn't believe global warming is manmade. But I'd like to point out the fact that she wears glasses -- and that's not something dumb people generally do. Obama? No glasses.

5. Military Affairs - As Governor, Pollen (sp?) is authorized to deploy Alaska 's National Guard in times of emergency. And while the Guard's Adjunct General admits that she plays no role in national defense, and isn't briefed on military exercises, the fact is -- she's been photographed holding a machine gun, while Obama has yet to wield so much as a .38 for the cameras. When it comes to keeping me safe, that's all I need to know.

6. Foreign Affairs - While Obama likes to take Middle East tours, meet with Europe 's leaders, and brag about his running mate being the foreign policy voice of the Senate, he can't hold a candle to Palenn's (sp?) understanding of today's complex, dangerous world. Yes, Sarah admitted that she hadn't paid much attention to the war in Iraq , but she knew enough to rightly call it a "task from God." Yes, she's only left North America once in her life, but her experience as a local sportscaster gave her the ability to follow events as they unfold at lightning speed. And as Cindy McCain pointed out, while Barack Obama was sipping lattes in Cambridge Square , Sarah Pinkston (sp?) was staring down the barrel of Putin's Kalashnikov -- a one woman wall keeping America safe from invasion.

7. Restoring America 's Image - Who better than a former beauty queen to add some new luster to America 's battered image? Paylen (sp?) will take a proverbial can of Aqua Net to our nation's unruly hair, and apply liberal (no pun intended) amounts of blush to Lady Liberty's cheekbones. In a word, she'll dazzle the world with her charm and style. Even the most anti-Western extremists will melt when they see the People and Vanity Fair spreads of Sarah warming her fur-lined extremities over burning science textbooks. And how would Obama restore our leadership in the world? The question we should be asking is: why does he only have two children, while Sarah has at least twice that number? What does Senator Obama have against America 's children?

8. Her Soul - In one 15-minute meeting, and one follow-up phone call, John McCain was able to determine that Sarah was more than his running mate -- she was his "soul mate." Not only that, but that she was more qualified to be a heartbeat away from the Oval Office than any Republican on earth. Yes, this is a testament to the power and quickness of McCain's decision making. But it's also a testament to the power of Sarah Payton's (sp?) soul. As a Muslim, it's not even clear that Obama has a soul.

So Sarah Pillston (sp?) qualified to be Vice President? To be one bad biopsy away from being the most powerful human being on earth? To lead America back to prominence and prosperity, while keeping us safe from a world of ever-changing threats?

The fact is that this woman will be advocating abstinence-only education and banning abortion. And she is a walking example of how well that policy worked out for her own children. It's not an attack on her daughter, it's a legitimate question to ask the mother about the policies that she believes the rest of us should live under. If Palin has her way, then millions of other American families will be faced with pregnant daughters before they even get out of high school.

Which will force thousands of women back into subservience, end the upward mobility of women...and complete the conservative goal.

You have to be aware Palin is the new "Darling" of the Republican voters and supporters and there is little we can do to change their minds about it.

Governor Sarah "Barracuda" Palin in her latest bid to shutdown the Alaskan State Senate Judiciary Committee investigation into her alleged improper effort to have her ex-brother-in-law, State Trooper Mike Wooten, has filed and ethics complaint against herself with State Attorney General Tallis Colberg.

Palin's attorney, Thomas Van Flein, sent a letter to the investigator stating Palin's claim that the investigation should be conducted by the state Personnel Board, which is staffed by Palin political appointees.

Gov. Sarah Palin wants a state board to review the circumstances surrounding the dismissal of Public Safety Commissioner Walt Monegan -- taking the unusual step of making an ethics complaint against herself.

Her lawyer sent an "ethics disclosure" Monday night to Attorney General Talis Colberg. The governor asked that it go to the three-person Personnel Board as a complaint. While ethics complaints are usually confidential, Palin wants the matter open.

The lawyer, Thomas Van Flein, also asked the state legislature to drop its own investigation into the Monegan matter. He says the Personnel Board has jurisdiction over ethics.

A senator running the investigation immediately refused.

The 13-page document gives Palin's view of a controversy that's dogged her for weeks in Alaska. Questions about whether she or others in her family or administration pressured Monegan to fire her ex-brother-in-law, state Trooper Mike Wooten, are now getting intense national attention with her newfound prominence on the national stage. Republican Sen. John McCain announced Friday that she's his pick to be vice president.

Under state law, the board must hire an independent counsel for complaints against the governor to determine whether evidence of a violation of the state ethics act exists.

"Governor Palin believes it will find no conceivable violation of the Ethics Act," her complaint says. She wants the investigation "to put these matters to rest."

The legislature plans to go forward with its investigation, said Sen. Hollis French, an Anchorage Democrat and former state prosecutor who is project director for the case.

That investigation isn't just examining potential abuse of power by the governor, but also others in her administration, French said.

"We're going to proceed. If they want to proceed, that's perfectly within their right but it doesn't diminish our right to do so," he said.

The legislature's special counsel Steve Branchflower so far has not been able to depose either Palin or her husband, Todd. Van Flein indicated the governor likely will not agree to a deposition unless lawmakers turn the matter over to the Personnel Board.

Bill Wielechowski, an Anchorage Democrat and member of the Judiciary Committee, said that several weeks ago the committee had scheduled a meeting to issue subpoenas in the case but canceled it when it appeared Palin’s administration would cooperate with the investigation. “This was going on way before Sarah Palin was picked to be vice president,” Wielechowski said. When the Legislative Council approved the investigation at the end of July and set the Oct. 31 deadline, “she wasn’t running for anything.”

Palin said Tuesday that she had asked the Personnel Board to investigate the case and said her concerns about Wooten’s behavior had nothing to do with Monegan’s dismissal.

“Last night, I initiated a proceeding before the state personnel board because that is the agency charged by law with addressing complaints about hiring and firing matters, and ethical issues in general, involving the Governor,” Palin said in a statement. “It is important to note that no one has actually filed a complaint against me, including Mr. Monegan, who would have had an obligation to notify the Personnel Board if he believed there had been misconduct in connection with his replacement.”

Wielechowski said that the state Personnel Board is appointed by the governor and that Palin appeared to be making “some sort of an effort to take this matter out of the legislature’s hands and put it in the hands of a body that is appointed by the governor.”

Other Democrats suggested that Palin may simply be trying to drag out the proceedings so the final report will not be issued before Election Day.

Good news folks. I was at Walgreen's Pharmacy the other day picking up a prescription at the drive through window when an elderly couple pulled up beside me and started honking to get my attention. When I looked over they were giving me a thumbs up and they said that they saw the Obama bumper stickers on the back of my car. They said that they had voted Republican their entire lives and that this year they had had enough of the Republican party. Not only were they supporting Obama this year, but most of their friends were as well they said. I found this really encouraging considering that I live in the heart of Indiana which has went Republican ever since LBJ. I hope that it's a sign of things to come.

Yes, I've had to explain this about 15,000 times since I've got a lot of European friends: The overall popular vote margin doesn't need to be big. If you have 51%-vs-49% in every state, the other guy gets zero electoral college votes.

And let's not underestimate the potential turnout disparity. Polls don't show who will actually cast their vote, and judging from the primaries, the Republicans are in deep trouble in that area.

The LA Times reported this morning that Lieberman (and Ridge) were the preferred candidates by McCain. Both are pro-choice and the Christian Coalition would have none of that. Palin is their candidate, vetted by them. Plain and simple.

When I looked over they were giving me a thumbs up and they said that they saw the Obama bumper stickers on the back of my car. They said that they had voted Republican their entire lives and that this year they had had enough of the Republican party. Not only were they supporting Obama this year, but most of their friends were as well they said. I found this really encouraging considering that I live in the heart of Indiana which has went Republican ever since LBJ. I hope that it's a sign of things to come.

It's more like a Palin-on-hold bounce. Because Obama definitely didn't get a post-convention speech bounce. Just the opposite. Obama lost points vs McCain in the days after his speech. He lost the points Hillary and Bill earned for him with their speeches.

Actually, if anything, I'd chalk up Obama's 4 point post-convention gain in these polls to the fact that millions of potential poll respondents in the Gulf states weren't home to answer their phones over the last few days and the cellphone users were busy communicating with each other over more pressing issues than answering a list of poll questions.

My father might sit out of this election. He was leaning McCain, but can't stand Palin.

I've said this many times. The GOP is not controlled by TRUE conservatives...who believe in strong national defense, but are against proactive forays into intl affairs, believe in balanced budgets, fiscal restraint and keeping government out of people's personal lives. These people are now called "moderates", and they are the folks that are completely disillusioned by this Party. They are also comprised of many former "Boll Weevil" Democrats.

They are flocking back to the Democratic Party in droves, having been driven off by the extremist crazies, neocons and evangelical fundamentalists that have usurped control of the party.

I have news for you...Dobson does NOT represent the evangelicals in this Palin matter...despite what you see on the screen at the convention. Dobson knows that if the GOP loses...his political clout goes out the window. So, he's got to stay with the horse he's ridden for 20 years. But the true believers are disillusioned. The little old ladies and wingnut couples that believe in the fundamentalist view are completely disillusioned by the embracing of a social situation (unwed pregnancy) that is completely anathema to them.

Those folks are going to stay home. Mark my words. They will.

This election is OVER. McCain may get 42 or 43% of the vote...but the 29%ers that he needs to get him to 50% are GONE.

Sarah Palin (sp?) has ignited the presidential race and fired up the GOP -- as evidenced by three women at the RNC who took the time to print the words "We," "Love," and "Sarah" on pieces of paper and tape them to the backs of their t-shirts. Sarah's even won the backing of the level-headed Rep. Michele Bachmann (R- MN) -- not exactly known for toeing the party line. Clearly, the liberal left realizes that it can't match this kind of unbridled enthusiasm for its candidate. So what are they doing? Attacking her character. Questioning her qualifications. Imagine a political group attacking an opponent because it can't win on the issues or the record. It's disgusting.

So let's set the record straight. Sarah Pahlen (sp?) is not only more qualified for the Oval Office than Barack Obama -- she might just be the most qualified political candidate in our nation's history:

1. Putting Country First - Her membership in the Alaska Independence Party proves that she's exactly the kind of leader America needs: the kind that will always put country first -- even if that country happens to be The Republic of Alaska. Obama claims he loves America -- but has he ever loved it enough to favor seceding from it? It's called tough love, Senator. Look into it.

2. Independence - Sarah hates indicted Senator Ted Stevens, but raised money for him. She hates the "bridge to nowhere," but supported it. She wants to shatter Hillary's glass ceiling, but wears t-shirts touting the size of her boobs. We're dealing with an innovative politician; one who refuses to be categorized. Obama may call himself the candidate of "change," but Sarah Pailen's (sp?) entire political life has been about saying one thing, and then doing another. Now that's "change we can believe in."

3. Family Values - This is someone who's not afraid to preach abstinence for your daughter, even though her own unmarried 17-year-old daughter is pregnant. This is someone who's not afraid to hop on a plane from Texas to Alaska while she's in premature labor. This is someone who's not afraid to hit the campaign trail with a 5-month-old special needs baby. That's what I call dedication to family. Obama, on the other hand? A Muslim.

4. Intellect - Yes, Sarah recently admitted that she didn't know exactly what it was the Vice President did. Yes, she wants creationism taught in public schools. Yes, she doesn't believe global warming is manmade. But I'd like to point out the fact that she wears glasses -- and that's not something dumb people generally do. Obama? No glasses.

5. Military Affairs - As Governor, Pollen (sp?) is authorized to deploy Alaska 's National Guard in times of emergency. And while the Guard's Adjunct General admits that she plays no role in national defense, and isn't briefed on military exercises, the fact is -- she's been photographed holding a machine gun, while Obama has yet to wield so much as a .38 for the cameras. When it comes to keeping me safe, that's all I need to know.

6. Foreign Affairs - While Obama likes to take Middle East tours, meet with Europe 's leaders, and brag about his running mate being the foreign policy voice of the Senate, he can't hold a candle to Palenn's (sp?) understanding of today's complex, dangerous world. Yes, Sarah admitted that she hadn't paid much attention to the war in Iraq , but she knew enough to rightly call it a "task from God." Yes, she's only left North America once in her life, but her experience as a local sportscaster gave her the ability to follow events as they unfold at lightning speed. And as Cindy McCain pointed out, while Barack Obama was sipping lattes in Cambridge Square , Sarah Pinkston (sp?) was staring down the barrel of Putin's Kalashnikov -- a one woman wall keeping America safe from invasion.

7. Restoring America 's Image - Who better than a former beauty queen to add some new luster to America 's battered image? Paylen (sp?) will take a proverbial can of Aqua Net to our nation's unruly hair, and apply liberal (no pun intended) amounts of blush to Lady Liberty's cheekbones. In a word, she'll dazzle the world with her charm and style. Even the most anti-Western extremists will melt when they see the People and Vanity Fair spreads of Sarah warming her fur-lined extremities over burning science textbooks. And how would Obama restore our leadership in the world? The question we should be asking is: why does he only have two children, while Sarah has at least twice that number? What does Senator Obama have against America 's children?

8. Her Soul - In one 15-minute meeting, and one follow-up phone call, John McCain was able to determine that Sarah was more than his running mate -- she was his "soul mate." Not only that, but that she was more qualified to be a heartbeat away from the Oval Office than any Republican on earth. Yes, this is a testament to the power and quickness of McCain's decision making. But it's also a testament to the power of Sarah Payton's (sp?) soul. As a Muslim, it's not even clear that Obama has a soul.

So Sarah Pillston (sp?) qualified to be Vice President? To be one bad biopsy away from being the most powerful human being on earth? To lead America back to prominence and prosperity, while keeping us safe from a world of ever-changing threats?
