I am so glad I did not watch much of the RNC, especially last night. Jon Stewart is showing parts of it, and jeez, it is so sickening. I don't know what made me sicker. First, it was just seeing Giualini and Romney; then it was hear "The One" rattle off all of those furen places; then there was the community organizer crap....pisses me off.
I hope Jon Stewart's show tonight gets national airplay to show what calllous and shallow people these repugs are.
The most reality we can get is on the Comedy Channel. It's pretty much of a shit state of affairs. And no, the Rethugs will not be shown Stewart or Colbert on Faux Noise. They have no clue how delusional and in denial they are.
In last nights critique of Sarah someone said "A Star is Born".
I sure as hell hope not, because in that movie, as soon as she became a star, he died.
I don't want the president of the PTA to be president of the US.
In the annals of American political history, this has to go down as the absolutely worst speech by any presidential candidate. My 10 year old could have given a much better delivery, with a lot more substance to boot! Amazingly poor.
Well, I felt McCain struck the hell out, copped Obama's message wherever he could, and appealed to his POW status constantly. Let's see the mainstream media print that. The protesters were also an awesome display of how America, not a controlled room, feels it's time to move on.
I hope he wrote down all the things he is going to accomplish, and brings plenty of money ---- ahhh -- I forgot. He will cut taxes, which will increase revenues to pay for all that stuff.

I guess I shouldn't be, but I was surprised by the fact that none of the pundits I watched mentioned the protesters during McCain's acceptance speech. They were great. I'm sure McCain is pissed as hell.
Fan letter to C&L Posters: Thank you for making me smile and sometimes actually laugh out loud these past two nights. It kept me sane. It makes me feel somewhat better that I have all these like-minded friends out there who share my pain. If I could, I'd buy you all a beer. Here's to you!
(OK, a little late since the thrad closed suddently)
OMG would it ever be easy to replace the voice over of the McCain bio movie they are playing now with something a bit more truthful. Where is the graduating at bottom of class, setting the carrier on fire, ditching the faithful wife who waited for him to return, the Keating 5??? The scriptwriters sure need better researchers, they missed a lot of relevant facts in the chronology. (There was also a section of music there that reminded me a bit of the score from Psycho, yup, someone could have a lot of fun with this.)
Hope there is a hi-resolution version online somewhere soon.
Did he just say "When you've lived in a box?"
OMFG! Another green screen behind him! He is crazy!!!! Let the fun begin.
PS. Oh drat, they've switch the green screen to blue. Now I have to adjust my chromakey preset halfway through. Are they trying to make this easy for us?

Wish I could lip-read. Looks like McCain was looking worried up on stage after his foray into the crowd, saying, "What do they want me to do????!!"
Then he steps into the crowd again, looking pissed...

And to cap it off, the fucking shameless pigs steal one of "Heart's" songs to wrap up the week. Jeez, if the Wilson sisters agreed to that I'll slash my wrists.
MSNBC is reporting on the fucking BALLOON DROP?!?!?!?!?! Nothing to say about the speech, nothing about the convention overall. You've gotta resort to talking about the BALLOON DROP?!?!?!?!?! Back to the SPAN!

Yeah ... see ... that's the way it works ... with China's help ...
He claims that he is only a servant. Although he is outrageously wealthy, and owns an unknown number of homes with workers some of whose main job is to keep up with his number of homes.

They cheered America's destruction as they claimed to want to save it from the damage they've already done. Ladies and gentlemen for the past several days you saw the faces of America's #1 threat.
Holy sweet jebus on a friggin' cracker, this is the guy whose staff keeps insisting "doesn't want to talk about his war experiences."
It's Basil Fawlty! "Don't talk about the war! I did just now, but I think I got away with it."
So where the hell were the bandaids with the purple hearts on them? Oh yeah. Their utter contempt for true war heroes is limited to those who are in a different political party.
watch out the next four years will involve takeing the golden showers and takeing it in the head in haliburton camps 1 thru 600! diebold rules the roost!

McGramps is almost as bad of a public speaker as W.
oui!
Difference between Obama and McCain #75,396,927,087:
Obama gives speeches that flow, so that he can actually get more than two sentences out before the audience goes wild.
Anyone know what the story is with the protestors? One blog reports McCain's been interrupted 4 times already!
Blue Screen Challenge?
That Maverick, he is fighting the GOP so much he has adopted the colors of Dems!
i will keep taxes low
my opponent with RAAIIIIISE THEM

How bout that 340 Point Stock Market tank today John?
McCain is so full of shit his eyes are brown!
End abortion, cut taxes, and drill, drill, drill - the sum total of the republican platform.
The blue screen looks like his windows operation system crashed on him
LindsayLohan'sButtFreckles @ 4:

Did you catch him saying I know things are getting worse for some of you... and then the crowd chants USA USA USA... so republican
A few more minutes to The Daily Show. McGaffe is putting me to sleep with his tired old lies.
These guys can kiss my ass.
McCain, Palin, all of them.
Gotta Love those Code Pink ladies and protesting Vets. True Americans. Putting their love of Country over mindless Republican propaganda.
L.A. Confidential @ 8:
Watch it tank on Friday.
Let's go Repugs!
I've seen better infomercials
Miatch @ 17:
Sure did. I couldn't believe it.
Republicans are cheering for a social program?
I must have been sheltered all my life, I never knew there were that many stupid people in the world let alone Minnesota!
Unfortunately for mcstain all the sane people have mentally prefaced this speech with "Every word of the following is a lie"
Did McCain just say he was getting rid of unemployment insurance?
We need a worse No Child Left Behind Act?
Yes, to make more lemmings like these fools.
"Empower parents with choice"
?????
Yeah, that's what's wrong with public education: bad teachers.
separate rich students from poor students and have the poor pay for it
OMG - It's the Penguin!!
Is that really the best of half of Ameriga?
wow ... he's really on a roll ... downhill

Ruthless People @ 351:

Why are they dragging that infant around like a stuffed animal on a stage where the sound levels are a zillion decibels?

Even to the most biased journalist, you cannot compare the McCain speech to the Obama speech. Obama BLEW HIM AWAY on details and plans!
Miatch @ 360:
Did you just say you want to hear about John McCain's POW experience? He's a little resistant, but I guess just this once.
k @ 346:
Shit! Is there a drinking game going on ther e to o ??????????????
natalie @ 353:
Because they're paid to. Their job is to frame stories and assist in the marketing of corporate interests as OUR interests.
Highway to Hell would be more appropriate theme music for these killers.
Anyone know how to donate money to Obama w/o getting on all the lists? (Thinking ahead!)
Well, I felt McCain struck the hell out, copped Obama's message wherever he could, and appealed to his POW status constantly. Let's see the mainstream media print that. The protesters were also an awesome display of how America, not a controlled room, feels it's time to move on.

Back to Kool-Aid and the Gang
The "sexist" whining from the McCain camp every time anyone looks sideways at Palin is getting a bit much.
Some posters on liberal blogs are even bitching about fair and square criticism of the barracuda claiming it's sexist.
Is calling Palin a cougar sexist too?
L.A. Confidential @ 374:
If only the PA guy had a conscience.
I guess I shouldn't be, but I was surprised by the fact that none of the pundits I watched mentioned the protesters during McCain's acceptance speech. They were great. I'm sure McCain is pissed as hell.
I guess mentioning Bush's name at this convention is kinda like mentioning OJ Simpson at a U.S.C. gathering.
"Highway to Hell"
The most important speech of McCain's career was a big dud.
Dancing Republicans.

Can he really think the undecided voters are suddenly going to jump his way?

GOP Base Sends Message: McCain Stood Up to N. Vietnamese, But Not to Us
Well, I for one will be donating again to the Obama Campaign after McCain's speech!!!
Is it any coincidence that the song played as McCain walked off the stage sounded a lot like "Barracuda?"
fiver @ 383:
Tweety needs to get Rove's ball sack out of his face. He couldn't see.

I'm trying to log onto the Obama website - taking forever - I'll be patient - this is a GOOD THING!!!
a guy @ 395:
Deep pockets, though.
Aside from the boilerplate about the "party of life" and low taxes, that was a fairly moderate speech.
The strategy seems to be to use Palin to excite the Base, while McCain tacks to the center in search of the Independents and Undecideds.
Diebold to the rescue.
You know, he can't speak for shit.
what is that word???? CHOICE!

CENTERFIELD (John Fogerty must be PISSED!)
a guy @ 395:
The old Republican party died years aho when it was corrupted by the Neocons. Mc Stupor is celebrating his divorce from reality.
Captain Bitter Whiner Hussein Kangaroo @ 388:
And mentioning Dick Cheney would be like mentioning Ted Bundy at a Washington State reunion.
Did anyone see McCain wife take her ring off?
bmw 528 @ 377:
LOL! Perfect!
I can't wait to see Obama kick the living crap out of this old goat in the debates. Ya gotta feel sorry for the guy. Geez.
PBS GUY IS SAYING "NOT A GREAT SPEECH"
trlovens @ 355:
No. It's means Republican Jesus and the Vangelicals are poised to take over if given the chance.
Patricia @ 392Comedy keeps us sane. ;) Now, excuse me while I make a donation to Barry.
