Troopergate: A devastating exposé
ABC investigative journalist Brian Ross digs into the Troopergate story and comes to one obvious conclusion: Palin clearly lied about her involvement.
The editorial board of the biggest newspaper in Alaska wants Sarah to stop stalling:
Gov. Sarah Palin is taking the wrong approach to Troopergate. She should be practicing the open and transparent, ethical and accountable government she promised when running for governor and boasts about now that she's on the national stage.
Instead, Gov. Palin has begun stonewalling the Legislature's attempt to get the bottom of allegations that she, her family or staff violated ethical or state personnel rules.
As a result, the Troopergate allegations hang over Palin's future and cloud her candidacy for vice president.
I've always been of the mind that, if you have nothing to hide, why not be entirely transparent and upfront with investigators? There is too much at stake here for Palin (and indeed the Republican party) for her to play this wrong.
Then again, the way she and her lawyers have acted up until this point signal that she has a good reason to stonewall. It'll be interesting to see how this shakes out.

I'm sure that the media isn't going to cover this as thoroughly and as perisistantly as something really important , like Britany showing up at a nightclub not wearing any underwear.

I think Sarah Palin is showing the kinda stuff our recent leaders excel in: lying and stonewalling. At least she is being true to the Republican spirit. (Democrats do it too, but maybe not so easily) The proclivity towards dishonesty is possibly even a requirement of being chosen to run.
Stonewall!! Hell it works for Bush!
Typical right wing corruption!
Look, the GOP is just getting out ahead of the curve. Instead of waiting to take office and then being investigated and indicted, they have the prescience to nominate someone who will already possesses these attributes.
Obama/Biden '08
These people are just running to try and get in our house and the corruption has already started. McCain has made such poor judgement. Here he has given this country a V.P. choice that has so much baggage and all are doing their best to prevent stories coming out which the public has a right to know and should know.
Shades of George Bush..on second thought it is not shaded at all but out there for all to see and realize the level McCain has taken this to election to and he is not even Pres. This was not a V.P. choice putting the concerns of this country first and anyone who is trying to spin that it is is full of it!
I am so tired of the garbage and this is going in the same direction as Bush/Cheney. More dishonesty and stonewalling.
P.S. As Barack Obama put so well....."Enough"
Palin = Nixon in a skirt and "FM, Jesus Pumps"©®™.
pre emptive stonewalling..........hmmm
Sarah Palin is a Republican, she has no faith in 'rule of law' so she intervened. She doesn't believe in the American justice system or the Constitution (book-banning, freedom of speech issues). That's it, end of game! How can this person serve the country when she doesn't believe in its most basic of tenets?
Very interesting comments from her Alaskan constituency. Remember when the Democrats had the youn kid talking about the health care program for working families, not medicaid, that enabled him and his sister to recieve health care that they would not otherwise receive. He and his sister survived a terrible accident and, spent weeks in intensive care, and many more in therapy.
The republicans went ballistic and charged that kids were being used for political opportunism.
A commenter in Alaska raised the point. Notice how many photo ops they are blasting the public with that shows Palin with her kids, over and over ad nauseum.
Where's the outcry. Fact is Obama is too much of a gentleman to sink to their level but it needs to be done by everyone else for the sake of the Nation.
I work in a governmental position where even the apperance of impropriety is to be avoided. You don't make decisions involving persons that are related or have some close relation to you. That is basic, governmental intervention 101.
It seems to me that if she fails in such a basic notion, she is suspect in every other governmental endeavor related to the use of governmental power. She's a rabid right-winger. Influence peddling is what they demonstrate continually.
How Cheney of her. How predictable of the McCain campaign and the Republican party. How typical of the media to practically ignore it.
LT
Media ignoring this development? Well, it's not like something that was said in a black church when the Dem's presidential candidate wasn't even present at the time.
but.... but we want bulldogs with lipstick in office, don't we??
PALIN/McBUSH '80!
VOTE DOUBLESPEAK!
Perfect Party for her!
Expertise in stonewalling while appearing to be above it all. Lots of great mentors available to make her feel confident.
If convicted of anything can W pardon her before January?
bird of a feather flock together. palin is just one more chicken coming home to roost. home to the white house.

good link capnmike... funny "sambo beat the bitch", is that the kind of language genuine creationists use? or just fake ones... and which would be worse in the whitehouse, and actual creationist, or just a fake one like the pseudoreligious rats we have now.
Did you notice that ABC listed the State Senator as being from Arkansas
Lying sack of shit, and - as soon as McChange kicks the bucket - the next President of the United States. Yeee Ha!
How many skelatins are in Palin's closet?
McSame must surely be desparate to be elected by choosing a random no-name woman governor.
It would be so arrogant of them if they got elected!
I'm wondering if just because an individual happens to be disqualified to run the country, it doesn't mean they aren't electable, much like who has been "in charge" for the past 8 years.
Bush=Palin
Dems need to send some fire power up there to help fight these criminals
The Bush/McSame Crime Family is already working feverishly to stonewall/obstruct this.
Crooks and liars, indeed.
Uh... am I missing something here? Shouldn't a cop that makes threats of violence against his ex-wife be fired?

If you want a factual account of what happened please check out andrewhalcro.com. He broke this story back in July. Please check it out and look at the blogs history. If his blog ever gets well known she is going to have a hard time explaining her actions. Oh, and sorry about the test. I never know if I do this whole computer thingy right or not.
