Your absolutely correct, these guys are the best at making boogie-men to keep the American Electorate shivering with fear.
Since our government has been stripped of any power, perhaps some other good nation will pick up cheney and the rest on trips abroad and do like they did with that South American Dictator.
Hello Obama? Hello? Obama! Are you out there?
I'm not voting for these people Barrack!

Good morning all.
I just signed that Let Palin Talk petition.
♠♠...Bangkok Bob...♠♠ @ 8:
Yep. I believe that's called f--k up and move up.

Your lucky. I don't even think it's possible to expatriate at this point without the Homeland stripping you of all your assets, cash, savings, and the clothes your wearing at this point.
Wow, i just watched Biden on MTP. I have to wonder if Palin can have the same kind of knowledgable conversation about the situation in Iraq.
The Dems have a great ticket this year.

And yet the Idiot Fringe, the Moron Factor, (at least many of them) will once again vote against their own self interest. It makes me sick.
The world thinks Americans are 50% idiotic.
huh? @ 13:
I can only hope they don't "think that the voter is intelligent and will take the time to see that their gentlemanly approach is civil and will work" much longer. It won’t.

I think that number is higher, but, .........LOL.....it isn't your fault. Political leaders tend to crap all over nation's reputations.
Any party leader should be prepared to go on one of these Sunday shows at any given moment. If a governor is not a party leader, who is? They just had a convention last week to put together a platform. Is her memory that poor, that she doesn't remember what they worked on a couple of days ago? On the other hand, what is there to talk about? The Republican way is to stonewall any attempt to restore law and order and destroy any international goodwill, and anyone can do that.

The malaise "vibe" here is unbelievable. No one gives a shit about anything, it's pretty pathetic.
Re: Sarah Palin's self-description as a pitbull with lipstick.
Did you know that a six-year old girl was attacked by a pit bull only a couple of weeks before this unbelievably callous statement? It happened on Aug 12, little Isis Krieger of Anchorage (of which Wasilla is a suburb - so Palin's hometown) was taken off life support and passed on Aug 18. Her father had been serving in Iraq when the attack occurred.

I have been told they are seen out jogging with prison officers, one on one supervision.
No orange prison clothing, normal sports gear for the exec inmates, and prob pleasant visits to the town's coffee shops, bars etc.

She has nothing to worry about. Right now, Tom Brokaw must be applying first aid to his rug burns from his very public obvious blow job on McSame this morning. I thought he was going to slap Biden for even running against Palin/McBush. He had a whole page of ammunition to slam Joe and Barack Obama. I can assure you, he will not be such a bulldog with either Bush w/ lipstick or the POW.

What little is left to screw, Cheney is trying to get to that right now. He needs to shut the hell up and get his ass home to his undisclosed location. WTF is he trying to do?
Just saw Biden on Meet the Press with Brokaw. My new name for Biden is "BULLDOG". He shot down all of Brokaw's talking points. I wonder if Brokaw we be as tough on Palin or McCain?

He's trying to start another conflict. We're the roughest toughest Nation on the planet right? No one can intimidate the U.S. right? Toby will come over there and put a boot up your ass. Cakewalk, slam dunk, flowers and candy. Oil revenues will pay for the war. Shock and Awe.
Imichael @ 30:
Nope because the trap has been set by the McCain campaign. They are saying the press will be hard on Palin and that's their reason for keeping her under wraps. So when and if she ever goes public with the press, and if the media presses her, the campaign will scream, We told you so. The press is badgering her.
Where is the angst over Freddie and Fannie? The heist is in full swing.
L.A. Confidential @ 33:
So then our country hovers in the corner in fear and McCain comes to the rescue. He sends Cindy somewhere and shows he can protect the country. The voters cheer and pull the lever for McCain.
The bottom line is the Capitalists have more to lose then us "little people" and common disposable fodder.
War is the only tool left in their toolbox. That and cheap labor.

Cheney gets a visit from the Feds, wake up time.
The Zuckerman book is very interesting and, I think, very accurate. We have friends in Denmark and have found the people of that country to be wonderful and deeply concerned with the common good.
Where the religious right has gone wrong in this country is assuming their beliefs exempt them from concern about our society. They see themselves as "saved", so screw everyone else because they're "damned" anyway. The mainstream majority consists of people who say they are believers or Christians, yet seldom attend and are largely secular in their behavior. They are, for the most part, rather self-absorbed and not particularly interested in religious or political issues. They are easily influenced by our media and pop culture - they are those so often referred to here at C&L as those who know more about American Idol than political or world issues. Then there is the religious left, a term we're not used to seeing but it is gaining strength. These people are believers from denominational and non-denominational congregations who are concerned with the war and the current state of the economy. Many are former republicans who are extremely angry about how their faith has been used by that party. They are gaining numbers and getting a voice. Their religion is a personal issue and not something they want to throw in non-believer's faces. They believe in a separation of church and state and are not interested in changing legislation to favor their Christian views or morals.
Unfortunately the right yells the loudest and has the money/power to influence our politicians.
pissed off patricia @ 29:
Stir up trouble. It's great for business. Oil prices soar. Military Industrial sales soar. Shareholders are delighted.
What's your problem?
You some kind of peacenik appeaser type?
Both Cheney and Palin have represented states with populations of approx. 600,000 people- about 0.2% of US population. The main economic activity in both states is resource recovery - oil, gas, minerals. Republicans have once again chosen a party ticket that knows nothing more than how to dig holes in the ground. No education, no innovation, nothing but oil, gas, metals and minerals. So with this legacy, once again, America will pin its fortunes.
Democrats need to eviscerate the church lady. Dig into past love affairs, radical religion, radical politics smear her from coast to coast. But I don't see that happening - could it be that there just isn't that much difference between republicans and democrats anymore? Yes. Bush has created a police state we are all under surveillance (hello, AT&T you suck, kisses!), the press is cowardly and people working for such low return that they have no energy left to fight for freedom. So we all sit exhausted afraid to risk our jobs and measly income to demand change.
Today (sunday) in big box churches (you know those airplane hanger sized churches where shaved head republican dad's in baggy shorts and flip flops can take their shaved head republican son's who wear baggy shorts and flip flops and listen to crappy jesus rock) republicans are mobilizing around the church lady and the collection cash is rolling in.
As republicans continue to strip mine the middle class - remember that's all they know- democrats will be handing them shovels. Republicans will win because church lady is a brilliant move to win an election, regardless of the real perils it causes for our country and its lower and middle classes.
Sorry for us all who demand change - republicans will win the regular way - electing president stupid rich and the church lady.

Angst as in anxiety.
It has been said they had to do it or we would have 1929 all over.
It has also been said that by doing we will have 1929 all over.

Acutally Bob , I personally think it's more than 50%. Please ,I hope you don't take offense by this comment. I talk to lots of americans every year and have had more than my share of dumb questions from them.
Mike the Canuck @ 53:
I'm with you Mike. I think it is probably closer to 60%. You can usually count on about 20% firmly at either end. Most of that 60% in the middle is going to believe what the media tells them, so that gives you 50-60%.
The only thing the Republicans have left is to play to the stupidity of the American voters by telling lies about Obama and Biden and not letting Palin be interviewed all by herself without Davis holding her hand.
What can we expect from voters who voted Bush into office TWO TIMES!!!
McCain is doing everything he can to distance himself from Bush even though he (McCain) has been a big part of the problem in Washington. Now by joining up with Palin he thinks we don't know what he is doing, pandering to the conservative base of the Republican party. I would wager that McCain doesn't really believe everything he says he stands for but he is so desperate to be elected he will say anything, do anything. If he can sleep at night who am I to doubt him. After he gets elected and plunders Social Security, gets us into another and bigger war, breaks the U.S. financially, then will the people say, "Gee, I never thought he would do that!"
I just don't care any more. Apparently the media knows something that I don't know. McCain/Palin is a great ticket and they will take care of all of us just like they say they will, just not maybe the way in which we would like. I said years ago who is going to pay all of the bills when the middle class is destroyed. We will soon find out.
Guess who used state funds for a quick round trip to do some religious / political speaking at their church !?
Yes you are correct, it was Sarah Palin on June 8th 2008.
