Ready to Lead?: Palin doesn't know what the Bush Doctrine is
By SilentPatriot Wednesday Sep 10, 2008 11:11pm
To his credit, Charlie Gibson actually did a pretty good job of grilling Sarah Palin in her first interview since accepting the Republican nomination. When asked whether or not she agrees with the Bush Doctrine -- the idea that the United States should be able to reserve the right to launch unprovoked attacks on nations deemed a threat to us -- a visibly confused Palin simply doesn't know how to respond coherently.

GIBSON: Do you agree with the Bush doctrine?
PALIN: In what respect, Charlie?
GIBSON: The Bush -- well, what do you -- what do you interpret it to be?
PALIN: His world view?
GIBSON: No, the Bush doctrine, enunciated September 2002, before the Iraq war.
PALIN: I believe that what President Bush has attempted to do is rid this world of Islamic extremism, terrorists who are hell bent on destroying our nation. There have been blunders along the way, though. There have been mistakes made. And with new leadership, and that's the beauty of American elections, of course, and democracy, is with new leadership comes opportunity to do things better.
GIBSON: The Bush doctrine, as I understand it, is that we have the right of anticipatory self-defense, that we have the right to a preemptive strike against any other country that we think is going to attack us. Do you agree with that?
PALIN: Charlie, if there is legitimate and enough intelligence that tells us that a strike is imminent against American people, we have every right to defend our country. In fact, the president has the obligation, the duty to defend.

We need palliative care!
another rethug warmonger filled with religious zeal and on a righteous quest to bend the world to her will... aside from that... she clearly didn't know what the bush doctrine is and responded in the typically evasive way that a shrewd person would when they know they don't know... aside from that.... frist!
Sarah Palin Explains the Real ‘Bush Doctrine’
I guess the DNA match that empty suit Obama stated existed between Bush and Palin isn't there after all. I didn't realize there was a Bush doctrine either.
Can't wait to see the spin on this. The "liberal" media will be trotted out. Of course, this idiot will get a pass, and any Democrat who came off as clueless would be destroyed. I can't believe I might be in a position to be praying for John McCain's health...
.
Has she figured out what a V.P. does yet?
.
She's trying way to hard here to appear convincing, and it's coming across
as rehearsed & fake.
How many times did she say; "Charlie??"
The Palin answers that troubled me the most were first, her assertion that
she did not hesitate when asked to join the ticket and then later her
reiterating that it was important not to "blink".
No, Gov. Palin. I think you have it all wrong. I think a good leader is one
who does hesitate, who does blink - long enough to consider the full
ramifications of his or her decision.
You accepted the nomination without hesitation - really? You didn't consider
your state, your family, your constituents in Alaska? You didn't ask any
trusted advisers for their views?
Is this how you would run our country? Decide and act without stopping to
consider how your actions would affect anyone else, without seeking any
other opinions? We already learned how bad an administration like that can
be.
Her kid is going to war because of the Bush doctrine.
Dan @ 4:
This just shows what an ignoramus you are. Why set yourself up?
She's slimy, to be sure. She got Gibson to clue her into what he was talking about.
How fucking scary is the thought of a President Palin?
Okay, then.
"if there is legitimate and enough intelligence that tells us that a strike is imminent against American people"
Who determines if the intelligence is "legitimate enough"? Oh, that's right - the neocons do.
McCain / Palin - more of the SAME.
Ummm , no he doesn't , dipshit.
The President's one defined duty to "defend" is the defense of our Constitution ; an act Chimpy the Wonder Monkey has proven completely uninterested in.
I do not think that Mrs. Palin knows.... much.... about anything.
But she knows this much - some books are dangerous, vengeance is holy work, and rapture is coming.
Welcome to Amerika, XII Century AD.
Yes, we are going back in time folks, it's going to be a hell of a ride!
it's a joke, folks. don't you get it?
the GOP are trotting out two clowns who know nothing about foreign policy, the economy, geography & history, as a way of sheepishly throwing up their arms, like wile e. coyote when he's about to drop a mile off a cliff.
She's a goddamned fool. If they win, god please let someone overthrow the government.
I bet she knows what a 'dirty sanchez' is.
Hockey Mom!
Dan @ 4:
Hey, dickhead. I got your empty suit right here.
Obama's Senate Accomplishments. Read it an weep.
Weak weak weak
So weak that I am embarrassed for our country.
Good God. Can you imagine her being Pres.
baylaw73 @ 5:
Exactly, she will be saved and it will be spun that since the Bush Doctrine is not law, only a verbal statement she could not have known it. SO big bad press, leave her alone, you should have learned something from the pregnancy of her daughter...that is, she don't know everything going on around her.
can sarah deal with this?
this is from the Monroe Doctrine. In her mind it's probably Manifest Destiny.
Dan @ 4:
Sooo, are you running for VP, too?
The correct answer would be that the US has the right to defend itself. The record for cooking intelligence being what it is, I would say the proof has got to be incontrovertable.
She went down in flames HARD in this interview. I love it! She looked so fake, plastic and didn't have an intelligent thing to say about any subject.
See ya later Ms. Moose Burger!
americangoy @ 13:
She certainly doesn't know much about the economy. The fact that she thought that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac cost the taxpayers too much money BEFORE THE GOVERNMENT TOOK IT OVER, says alot.
Is this who YOU want making decisions about this country, about YOUR future?
George W. Bush in a dress.
Dan @ 4:
How do you not fall down more often ?
BTW Who gives a fuck if some stupid little GOP/Chimpy leg humper like yourself knows if there's a "Bush Doctrine" or not ; since when have you announced your intentions for the presidency or the vice presidency on the garbage GOP ticket , tool ?
{ Don't feed the troll. SiteMonitor}
bullfrog @ 14:
And WE are the butt of the joke.
Are you as pissed off as I am?
Jeebus H. Christ!
Ya know, after Chimpy's Reign of Error, I thought we'd seen it all....that no other display of sheer idiocy could surprise...but these GOPigs keep finding new depths of empty-headedness.
She may as well have said: 'Doctrine? I didn't know Preznit Bush wuz a Doctor, eh?'
Jay Severin Has A Small Pen1s @ 16:
And a rusty trombone followed up with a Puerto Rican breakfast.........
Wonderful segment! I bet the more Palin opens her mouth, the deeper she'll bury herself in a hole. Her debate with Joe Biden is going to be quality entertainment.
Palin's not the only one not ready to lead. All protestations by the James Carville's of the political class aside, the current campaign proves John McCain is not ready to lead. His relentlessly lying campaign commercials demonstrate either a blatant willingness for dishonorable discharge of lies...or a candidate not even the commander in chief of his own campaign. Which is it?
And, reckless endangerment for us, provocateur for him in the choice of Palin...except, was she really McCain's choice? Or was she forced on him as a compromise "gender" demographics choice? Is that why the only one meeting before the proffer?
Hmmm. maybe an x factor in all of this is that McCain and Palin will self destruct on their own before the election.
I thought her answer was pretty good. She wasn't stumbling, she just wasn't going to let him put words in her mouth.
Oh boy. That was a hoot.
Download that clip! Mirror it. Spread the current link. Let it be seen by as many as possible.
What a joke that woman is. Can't wait to see the other segments.
TPRA
c'mon Obama - stop playing nice and tell it like it is. Stop saying Palin is a capable formidable leader. She is woefully unprepared to deal in world affairs - she is a notch below Rush Limbaugh. He should just say she sounds like a minor league wingnut shock jock spewing talking points she barely understands.
Ms. Joanne, I'm right with you on the outrage meter. I couldn't watch the memorials today although I remembered it.
And no one wants to die because other people are stupid.
Dan @ 4:
Since I assume you are not presenting yourself as "ready!" to be a heartbeat away from the presidency, you can be forgiven for that. But since when did we decide that our Vice President need not be any more qualified for the job than any average American? Would any fortune 500 company in the country hire her to be CEO or even VP? If not them, why us? Aren't we better than that? Don't we want to be?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_Doctrine
Whats the difference between George W. Bush and Sarah Palin?
Lip Stick.
masha @ 344:
McPoints. You get points to troll on liberal/progressive sites and spew canned crap.
This election is nothing but a joke to the GOP. Hell, their governing is a joke. Most obstructionist GOP Congress in history! Everything they do is for political advantage; we are not even a thought.
It's a joke and we are the recipient of that joke.
Healthcare? Only if you can afford it. McCain's "healthcare plan" will tax the amount of those benefits given you. His big tax break will wind up costing you money. In my (rather decent) income bracket, without the tax ramifications, I will get maybe $1000, not the $5000 he espouses. After taxes, I will wind up paying more for worse and worse coverage.
It's a joke. It's a game.
And WE lose! Every single one of us.
Qustioning Palins experience about specific foreign policy is baloney. Experience is the record of acting on available data. With all the data available at the Presidntial or VP level Palin would make a decision. Responsibility for the consequences of a decision makes a huge difference in that decison. All the Pundits and naysayers are a batch of losers as they are not responsible for any policy decisions so what they espouse is mostly garbage. Cheap political crap. Palins decisions have a history of being made with the welfare of her constituents and not her own. That is the record that is important.
RJ
dennis @ 341:
So what's your source, Dennis? The way your italicized section reads, it doesn't look like an objective news piece - it looks like opinion - whose is it?
dennis @ 341:
hey fucktwit (and i am a crass progressive) care to provide a link to this conversation that doesnt come from one of the wingnut blogs? cuz i cant find one
only need one independent news source...just one
come on dennis...use the google
btw, would it have been so hard for palin to have said
"im sorry charles, but i have never heard the term 'bush doctrine' used before"
and why is it that when it was explained to her, she still didnt quite get the concept? could it be that she is a full retard? would explain why it took her 5 different colleges to earn a ba in journalism, or why both her eldest children became absolute fuckups, or why it has been so easy for ted stevens to use her for happy endings
dennis @ 341:
ROFLMAO!!
Oh wait, its Dennis. He's probably being serious.
ROFLMAO!!
constituent @ 345:
you are forgetting, she has 2 terms as mayor of the bustling metropolis of wasilla....home of the meth head and the bible thumpers
dennis @ 350:
No. Because you lie. And your lies need to be called to the carpet.
This is GOP discourse, lying.
You are a liar.
Better yet, tell us something about the Bush Doctrine. I'll wait.
You've been living it for the past eight years. That's about all anyone needs to know.
dennis @ 357:
Then you better start ignoring yourself!
Dan @ 4:
Well, based on the pride you obviously take in your ignorance, Dan, you aren't qualified to be vice-president either!
Dan, do you agree with Palin that the war in Iraq is a religious war too?
Your other comment - that Obama is an "empty suit", on what do you base that comment? Obama is certainly intelligent, well educated, literate and articulate. Is it just that he often uses multisyllabic words that you don't understand?
I really do hope for America's sake that the average American is even just slightly smarter and more informed than Palin or Dan seems to be.
If not, even "god's blessing" won't be able to help America.
Can anyone explain why it's okay for governor palin to raise
taxes on oil co. profits but if obama talks taxation on windfall
profits it's terrible and will hurt the economy?
dosido @ 349:
Sorry, missed a character. Very late. Biden: Rhetorical question
She is cute, dosido. Tough as nails, too. Much more than the milquetoast lightweight at the top of the other ticket who needs Keith Olbermann to tell him to get tough and say things like 'Enough!'.
Don't ask me for that link- going to bed.
Er.. wtf... my post at 369 was supposed to be a qoute and comment, not links...
dennis @ 357:
It's more effective to call you out on your lies and bullshit , to ensure that what has happened these past 8 years , never happens again.
I engage you and kick your ass every time , regardless of your claims , which sound eerily reminiscent of "winning in Iraq".
And there is nothing more stupid than for you to constantly be somewhere where all you do is lie incessantly , and where you're simply unwelcome and not wanted ; kind of like us in Iraq .............
castanea @ 331:
I came up with a new nickname for them today--Palin-drones. Feel free to use it, often.
It should be very clear to anyone now, that Calin is simply not VP material. If her interview wasn't so sad and revealing of her lack of knowledge and experience, I could get real angry at her for not declining the job in the first place.
Makes no difference that most Americans with good sence know she is not capable of such a high powered job. She should be big enough herself to turn it down.
It is so wrong for the republicans to use this woman like they are doing in their quest to win this election at any cost to this country.
It is exactly what they have done with this war in Iraq, by continueing to argue about time tables, when it is clear Obama is right on the mark with this as he has been on everything.
Open challenge to Katie Couric
I challenge you to interview Chelsea Clinton and you can interview in an even more intelligent manner then Mr. Gibson.
Chelsea Clinton experienced her fathers more than 10 years as Governor of Arkansas. His eight years as President. She experienced her mothers 6 years as Senator from the Great State of New York. She just survived the most vicious primary, maybe ever.
Chelsea Clinton is more intelligent, far more well traveled, far more knowable about world affairs, and yes, far more experienced than Mrs. Palin.
She has already met perhaps dozens of world leaders.
I read that again because it's true.
Chelsea Clinton is more intelligent, far more well traveled, far more knowable about world affairs, and yes, far more experienced than Mrs. Palin.
She has already met perhaps dozens of world leaders.
Far more experienced that Mrs. Palin
I challenge you to interview her!
Taarak @ 327,
Thanks. Seeing everybody here tearing into and through the bullshit is gtatifying to see.
Eric @ 364:
do the google...it has only made the rounds of wingnut blogs
now its possible that in one of his meetings he gave some offhanded comment to get a rise out of staffers...but guess we have to ask biden
the wingnuts big meme on biden, is that he has always been wrong on foreign policy
of course, they think all dems are wrong on foreign policy...so it isnt that big a deal
oh, and attention to the wingnuts....yes, biden said that iraq would not have a strong centralized government anywhere in the near future
if the united states is still dictating policy in the region....where is this statement wrong?
dennis @ 373:
The new republic. Another right-wing roll of toilet tissue.
Good Riddance, Dennis.
R Jensen @ 363:
Putting a town of 5,700 in over $20 million dollars worth of debt is prudent and shows concern towards others , does it ?
What planet are you from and why have you come to mine , retarded ET ?
MsJoanne @ 368:
I don't lie, MsJoanne. I tease and cajole and am sometimes unserious, but I don't ever lie. No point in it, and if you knew me, you'd like me-- not that I want you to. I just enjoy the engagement from anyone who wants to back up what they say.
StirFry @ 124:
agree. watch how the mccain campaign is gonna cry sexism again. the obama campaign should preface any criticism of palin's comments with "i hope the mccain campaign is not going to accuse us of sexism if we criticize gov palin....this is too important an issue for the country..." the obama campaign should jump the gun then hit her hard.
R Jensen @ 363:
And she has a pretty piss poor record. Charging rape victims for forensic testing. The state made a law because of her when she was mayor of Wasilla. Cutting funding for a proven program which helped kids make it through school. Defunding her precious special needs program.
She did not do well for her constituents.
if there's nothing to hide why is palin sounding like she isn't going to release 1100 e-mails?
sounds familiar secrecy......bush
MsJoanne @ 368:
ms joanne,
you get riled up as much as you want....i think its hot
dennis @ 373:
legitimate source dennis
tnr aint one
i am as much of a legit source as they and i say bristol and track palin are meth heads
Dennis is most likely here from the McCain campaign. Don't they offer rewards for people that troll liberal blogs now?
R Jensen @ 363:
This is a joke right? You do realize that she left her town in deep in dept, made rape victims pay for their rape kits, and required an administrator to help her run the town, right?
Besides, how does this differ from Obama and Biden?
No wonder she is so against abortion. Us women need to keep breeding so we can have soldiers for wars against anyone who scares us and makes us not blink. The teerrrroaristss are out to git us. Git um first Charlie. Git um first.
dennis @ 383:
Sorry, sir. You are a liar.
She's cute?? Now that's the way to pick the next VPOTUS.
You disgust me.
And no, I most certainly would not like you. I don't do goopers. Ever.
constituent @ 372:
all you smart educated right wingers....i can't get this answered.........she can raise taxes( Republicans don't like
talk down )but she did and that's okay......obama talks taxes and he is terrible.......seems hypocritical but maybe i'm wrong
What a goddamn parrot. All of her answers are canned sound bytes taken directly from the RNC handbook.
Can O' Whoopass @ 7:
Hmmmm, I read somewhere he's going to war because the judge gave him a choice between jail or enlisting.
Anybody know whether there's substance to that?
Wow - after watching McCain's interview with the guy from WCSH in Portland Maine (with his robotic nonsensical answers) and now this, I am heartened. Maybe the wheels are going to fall off the McCain campaign after all. She looks like a deer... or moose, in the headlights!
More useless empty rhetoric from a morally bankrupt Republican shill. When a paranoid police state starts invading countries which 'it thinks' or 'it believes' are plotting to attack it, that's not justifiable self-defence. That's naked military aggression. And that way ruin lies.
After 8 years of shameful and painful failure, anyone even remotely considering electing McCain & Palin to office should be certified criminally insane.
Time has come to stop the rot. No McCain, no Palin, and no more BushCo warmongering. Ever!
Remember, the bar is low. Pat Buchanan was praising her "nuance" in explaining the "Bush Doctine." He thought her take was better than Bush's.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj3iNxZ8Dww
i knew palin sounded familiar
"The Islamic terrists who are hellbent on destroying us and our allies .."
She's got that part of Cheney's Job memorized ..
It really sickens me that there are people in leadership positions in this country that actually believe that if we just kill enough Muslims we will stop terrorism. Unless your ready to kill billions of people just shut up and sit down. That is a strategy comes from the mind of a 12 year old. The more you kill the more you make. Of course Republicans have never been honest about their real proposals anyway, if they were they would never get elected.
petr @ 33:
Which word-- "yes," or "no?"
I didn't watch the interview... did Gibson ask her about the earmarks for the "bridge to nowhere" that she's been lying about for two weeks? Or was that not on the list of scripted questions he was allowed to ask?
Dan @ 4:
Jeez, Leweeze, Dan. Do your homework - seems that the empty suit with glasses that Charlie G. was interviewing didn't do hers, either.
Then again, not doing homework and staying informed is typical of the right-wing pundit class these days.
Especially blog TROLLS.
petr @ 33:
She seemed pretty thankful when he finally defined the "Bush Doctrine" for her.
OH MY GOD, She's babbling like a programmed automaton, regurgitating bromides cued to the 10 key words.
TERRARIST,.. charlie
DEFEND THE COUNTRY,.. charlie
but what about the Bush doctrine, Ms. Palin
In what respect, charlie?
you know, the doctrine of preemptive strike
I BELIEVE mistakes were made, charlie
Oyveh, but at least she wrinkles her nose at the right places for emphasis.
uncle joe mccarthy @ 388:
Coming from you, TNR isn't a legitimate source???? Thanks for sending me off to bed laughing. You've hoping beyond all hope for the last two weeks that the trash from Daily Kos and Du and Andrew Sullivan and National Enquirer and Perez Hilton and god knows what other slime bucket outlets was true, and even if it wasn't, had been debunked already, or scrapped altogether, you still post the most bizarre rumors imaginable on here multiple times.
And you lecture me on a direct and undenied by Biden quote from a journalist from The New Republic? If I didn't know already what a true wackjob you were I'd say 'Unbelievable'.
Keep hopin', Old Uncle Joe who's a-thinkin' kinda slow.
dennis @ 383:
Those who dislike you while you are and remain anonymous , are suddenly going to warm up to you after viewing your 5' 2" 380 pound bald headed carcass ?
Well , at least you're consistently delusional ..........
Isn't Dennis supposed to be in bed by now?
R Jensen @ 363:
glory be to god
i guess leaving the city of wasilla in the 20 mil hole, leaving the 15 million dollar sports center (paid for by sales taxes) mired in legal wrangling that may end up costing the city another 7 mil, trying to keep open a failed state run dairy, costing the state even more money, billing the state a per diem to sleep at home and flying your children and hubby around the country with you and then charging the state...why all those things were for the benefit of the people
gosh, what a fool i am
Did anyone else think she sounded just like Miss Teen South Carolina? "And such as."
Lance @ 37:
More like a wolf under a spotlite from a helicopter.
dennis @ 395:
You actually read Perez Hilton???? That settles it. You are mindless. Go to bed like you said you were going to 5 or so posts ago. I know, I said I was leaving too, but I've been having too good a time lurking... and laughing... at your silly nonsensical posts. This one though. Wow. This one left me on the floor. I'll sing you a lullaby if you want? I'm good at changing diapers too.
MsJoanne @ 392:
Well, that's too bad you'd harbor that kind of prejudice, but you still would. Other than here I don't talk much politics around anyone, and few know my political beliefs.
And I won't call you a liar, but I kind of think you'd be stretching the bounds of spin, shall we say, if you denied that you had ever said Obama was an attractive man, or even Bill Clinton, or John Edwards.
McPale's Navy @ 401:
OMG, brain bleach, please!! :-)
MCMetal @ 396:
McMetal, I don't know what your infatuation is with me or your false bravado of one has who is completely out of range, but talking like a badass on a blog is about as tiring as things get here. You are picking a fight with six letters, d-e-n-n-i-s.
If you are ever anywhere around the middle part of Virginia and want to look me up for a face to face and prove your toughness, just let me know. Anytime.
I cannot f'ing believe she will be the next Vice President of the US. I just cannot f'ing believe it. It boggles the mind.
'She knows foreign policy. Alaska is right next to Russia, you know' John McCain.
Are you f'ing kidding me? That is a 5th grader's answer. C'mon people. This is f'ing serious. We're talking about a gung-ho 'Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran' septugenarian with one foot in the grave and a finger on the armageddon button running as Pres and his back-up is an armageddon End-time freak waiting and praying for the rapture. Can this picture be any f'ing clearer? This is just f'ing scary.
Their mind-set is 'To hell with diplomacy, we'll talk tough and put sanctions on any nation that looks at us funny. We'll plant the interceptor missiles in Poland and Czechoslovakia, piss off the Russians and have them point their nukes at us again. We don't give a damn'. Hell, it's no surprise McCain ended up in a Vietcong rathole. He crashed 4 aircraft before this last one due to his brazen, reckless flying and damn-the-torpedoes attitude
Is their no-one else in this country of 300 million with just a little more sanity, just a little more experience, just a little more diplomacy and just a little more brains? There has to be. This can't be happening. It's lunacy. It's a bad movie. Oh Crap! Just looking at Palin makes me want to puke. 'Anyone can be Vice President'. No shit!
This is making the Bush administration look not-half-bad. Or is it that Bush was such a f-wad and lowered the bar so low, that soccer-moms are now VP material. This is just absolutely 200% mental.
Sick of it all.
BTW: Palin is Latin for 'Again'. Kinda makes sense. McSame and Again
dennis @ 402:
Obama is way, way, way too skinny for me. I like big guys. Clinton was never attractive to me. Edwards is ok. Biden is actually better looking than the lot, to me. (A tad too old, but hey, whatever, I'm not looking to date our next veep.) But I certainly couldn't care less what someone looks like. That is no qualification for high office. None. Never enters the picture at all.
I had to throw a quick comment up here about this. I don't think that this will effect the election a whole lot, maybe a few ideological undecideds/independents who are concerned about this countries relations with the rest of the world. However, Sarah Barracuda(pejorative) is in fact running to be the number 2 in the most powerful country in the world at a time when we are fighting a war that was justified by the "Bush Doctrine". Had Joe Biden squirmed like this, it would have been game, set, match; Republicans. The even bigger issue is that it SHOULD have mattered. More Americans should know what this doctrine is and if they had, this would have mattered. Perhaps if more people payed attention to what is going on in the world and what part our country is playing in it, then the election wouldn't be so close. For that matter maybe Bush wouldn't have gotten a second term.
uncle joe mccarthy @ 398:
Not to forget using the power of office to conduct petty, mean-spirited personal vendettas, some for long held gudges meremly for percieved personal slights against her person. Solid track record of responsible judgment, what?
Actually, there is something about Obama that I think is enormously sexy; he is scary smart. And I find that more attractive than anything else.
McPale's Navy @ 401:
The crap he is hoping comes true is coming from that freak. I looked up one of his wish-upon-a-rumors about Palin, and that was the source.
Perez fucking Hilton. It doesn't matter where they come from, Uncle Joe will peddle them.
drudge is not alarmed by her intellectual laziness--i asked the shlubs in my office what the bush doctrine was and they all got it basically right--preemptive unprovoked aggression to prevent GOP mystically divined unstoppable future disasters should we not do exactly what bill krystal at al say we must. never mind all future outcomes they have ever divined have been opposite of their forecasts--except in neo-con world, where a 3rd GWB term is all that's is need for 1,000 years of peace. remember people, bill krystal says vote obama AND YOU WILL DIE. remember, we are much, much safer thanks to bush--we are alive because of bush, all hail the mystically perfect bush.
anyway.....
the best part: when obama assumes the presidency, billy and co. will blame all the worlds ills on the democrats. The bush docrine would have worked if only we had only followed palin/mccain down the road of war with iran and russia.
Funny how drudge finds no need to divine any alarming headline gleaned from palin's cluelessness to the most alarming events of out time. for her bush doctrine is brilliant, and is god-inspired--we are in the end-times struggle against the muslims.
bush docrine is: kill or be killed!
quite simple really, when you put yourself totally, unquestionably in gods hands.

What is "false" about anything I have ever posted , skid mark ?
You litter your bullshit-laden posts with links to the worst and most discredited garbage sites as "facts/proof" , and you're attempting to talk shit ?
Pipe down , little boy ; you are clearly out of your league here compared to me.
And no , I doubt I'm going to be anywhere near EastButtfuck , Virginia , in the near future , you fucking rube.
Which actually works out to your advantage ; I would have pissed upon your bald , empty skull after knocking you on your fat stupid ass...............
MsJoanne @ 406:
Just because I think Palin is attractive is not the reason I like her. She has a lot of qualities that I admire. This is well down the list, but I have tow girls who have played hoops since they were 5 years old, and I've coached them and other girls for the bulk of their playing years, rec, middle school, and even AAU. I love girls basketball. When I first heard about Palin as a possiblility 3 months ago I looked her up and of course read about her being captain of her h.s. team that won the state championship, and that they called her Sarah Barracuda for her grit and determination on the court. And she made the winning f/t to win that state championship. I know that kind of girl- there are not many out of all the girls I coached that are that way. Not that it's good or bad or I think more or less-evryone is different. But I know the kind of girl that is like that, and it is rarely something you can teach. They have to want it deep inside their hearts. She seems to have that in every thing she does. There's a reason why she has an 80% approval rating. I can understand why people here hate her, but I don't think they really hate her, they, like you, just hate Republicans. And I've always pitied people who hate people because of their political beliefs.
And yet.....................You adore an ugly brainless banshee like mAnn Coulter.
You are one stupid , confused , hypocritical loser , dennis.............
OMG you guys can't read the fn transcript! She contradicted the Bush doctrine! She obviously doesn't know it or the fact she contradicted it.
dennis @ 341:
I think we are quite comfortable with McCain at the helm and Palin getting us off our dependence on foreign oil
I think that's what Exxon thought too, before Valdez captain boozin' Joseph Hazelwood left a not-so-happy-ending on Palin's doorstep...
MCMetal @ 413:
I live now in the town Obama came close to picking a former mayor of, but was scared away by Karl Rove from doing so. Maybe he's glad he didn't pick the former mayor of EastButtFuck, VA, who is now the Governor. Another VP pick he'd be overshadowed by executive experience on, though.
You are such a badass. I am starting to get really, really scared.
dennis @ 395:
btw, perez hilton, that fucking hack, took all his info from some rather legit blogs...one that came right from alaska
and i only repeat what has been substantiated...except for the meth head stuff...but if bristol and track were hangin around the crowd that appeared on levi's sis' facebook page...well, meth was not out of the question
dennis @ 414:
Then you truly are clueless. It's not political beliefs, it's ideological beliefs. I believe all people deserve to be the best they can. Goopers believe that only rich people deserve everything. I believe in fairness. Goopers believe in fairness for them, fuck everyone else. I believe that women are more than vessels to bring forth gooper life.
And I believe that you are an icky person because you lie, which is typical Gooper behavior and something I loathe above all else.
dennis @ 418:
For every Tim Kaine , there is you or a George "Macaca" Allen ; not a great ratio there , shitbag.
BTW
You were the fool who laughably tried to challenge me physically ,so , pipe down , dennis.
You have no idea who I am ; and quite simply , someone who teaches GIRLS , NOT WOMEN'S basketball , is about as terrifying or bad-ass as Chimpy or 5-deferrment Dickhead Cheney.
Zip it already , you sorry rube..............
dennis @ 418:
richmond va is eastbuttfuck?
its the capitol of va, and has a population of 200k...over 20 times the size of wasilla
She hunches like Cheney. Has that dead-eyed stare like Cheney. But she is even more scary than Cheney in that she doesn't have that undead confidence of Cheney: she is hostile, aggressive and afraid. This woman is nuuuuuuuts.
MCMetal @ 415:
I don't adore her. But she does have a very funny wit and she drives nutcases like you crazy, which truly makes me laugh. And no offense, but she's about a thousand times smarter than you are on even your best day, which wasn't today.
Uncle Joe, and that sister of his? She dressed like a $10 crack whore. I was embarrassed to see it. Kids holding their fifth's of liquor. And this is presidential material? McCain has almost a 30% chance of not surviving the next four years.
Honestly, WTF are these people thinking? She is terrifying as a potential POTUS.
Sarah Palin's most endearing trait is that she is highly annoying.
Palin MUST be stopped. McCain has literally sold his soul to The Devil, Steve Schmidt.
Tragically, Palin is sick. Her mental instability stems from her religious zealotry, a threat to
the future of mankind. To her, a horrible apocalypse would be some God-granted
intervention in human affairs. Her and those who espouse reviving cultural war as a
masquerade for their bizarro belief in some ridiculous Second Coming should be forever
banished from the American political landscape. The way to acheive this is with YOUR vote.
Otherwise, the American Nazi Taliban wins. We will have effectively BECOME the
very evil we profess to abhor. For your own good and the survival of your children
and heirs, vote Obama in November. Our very way of life is threatened.
dennis @ 424:
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
A loser backer of the most unintelligible and least intelligent president in US history in Chimpy , believes he's credible when discussing or comparing the IQ's of others ?
ROFLMAO...............Man , you're pathetic .
uncle joe mccarthy @ 419:
Uncle Joe- Don't take it personally, dude. But you've been partaking in some rather odd, ritualistic behavior. When something is true and verified, believe me, no, believe in the amazing power of the internet, you will know about it soon enough. Some of the bizarreness you follow makes me cringe. The stuff you try to peddle is only the stuff that feeds the myth of Sarah anyway. It makes us want to defend her all the more. No different than why Clinton went out with a high approval rating despite the skating and ineffectiveness he got away with because everyone focused on his personal life.
"Uppity" Bonkers @ 423:
Excellent.
petr @ 33:
Like the McCain manager said, "we will put her in interviews we feel best represent her best interests." It may not be perfect, but it is what was taken away from the interview he gave to on Faux. So, stumbling would suggest the questions were unexpected, but she may just be good at redirecting...like giving an answer that has no connection to the question.
The 23%ers are going to love her no matter what.
Brainwashed dittohead Americans.
This person could be president in about 120 days from now.
petr @ 33:
Thanks for throwing in your 2 Confederate cents , Corky .........Here's a cookie ; now go play in the corner.
The spin will be that Gibson asked a "trick" question. More like a "test" question.
Does Sarah know how to deal with any energency at all?
gitrdone @ 25:
What's the difference between George Bush and Sarah Palin?
Lipstick.
This woman is the dumbest politician in America, this even includes the chimp in the Oval office. She actually said that she has experience on Russia because you can see Russia from Alaska! My God, help us lord!!! She didn't know the Bush Doctrine, I have a 14 year old nephew that laughed at the tv when we watched this together. He takes advanced History classes in school and said that it's about pre-emptive strikes against percieved enemies if we feel threatened. I was proud, I also remembered this about pre-emptive strikes. This woman is running for VP and possibly POTUS and she doesn't even know one of the biggest statements on policy given by her own Republicon President!
She also said her son is going to Iraq because of duty and patriotism for his country. Bull! He was forced to go or he would have to go to jail, that kid was a mess in legal troubles. Why does Palin lie so much? Oh YA, Shes's Republican.
After being unable to post in the last thread, let's hope this is the charm: the entire Palin interview was scary as hell. What is even scarier is the fact that there will be people who think that this stupid beast hit it out of the park tonight.
fastfeat and Karen: I tried to answer you in the last thread. :( But, I just wanted you both to know I agree with what you said. :)

Forget Olliver Stone making movies about this batch of GOPig "leadership"....Only Terry Gilliam could capture this kind of relentlessly transparent lunacy where the MOST. IDIOTIC. BULLSHIT. EVER. is considered "nuanced" by anyone - even a reich wing tool like Buchannan.
Sorry,,,I've been watching 12 Monkeys a lot lately.

To Sarah, the Monroe Doctrine probably means Marilyn singing 'Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend'.
Palin gives me the creeps. She reminds me of Tracy Flick in the movie 'Election'.
Oh well...I guess that's the last interview she'll be giving for a good three weeks or so, until the VULCANS have had a chance to pump her full of some more trivia and talking points. Back to the hot house for Eliza Doolittle.
That made me smile. No reasonable person could watch that and feel safe with her anywhere near the White House. Eyes wide, no clue, spouting nonsense.
Holy crap, that cutsie-scrunchie face she makes give me the willies.
Go back to the PTA, lady.

"Hmmm...a doctrin'...ok just wait a sec....hmmm...are ya talkin' bout medicine stuff here? Ummm...well I think medicly speaking, we need to be the bestest in the world."
"No...actually I am referring to the Bush Doctrine."
"Ohhh! Ok, now. I see. You mean like a bikini wax? Is that it?"
"Ummm...no. Actually, let's move on here. Do you think invading Iraq was a wise military venture considering it was not connected at all to 9/11?"
"Oh, for sure! We're surgin'!! Get it? That's medical! USA! USA!"
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
Wow. This woman doesnt know anything about anything!
And I applaud Gibson of at least asking tough and follow up questions. I am surprised.
By the way.. this woman scares me. I see evil in her eyes.

Considering how many idiots in this country think like she does it may be too late.
We will all vote and get our friends to vote. The question is how many votes in opposition to these two self centered morons will be counted and how many will be scrubbed?

That's what McMetal called it, not me. Ask him. He must be the metrosexual cosmopolitan like Obama, Kerry and Gore.

Hey Mr Delusional Moron who believes he's the arbiter of who's intelligent (when actually , he isn't).
Clinton is a Rhodes scholar ; Palin is a below-average twit with a degree in journalism from the University of fucking Idaho , a TIER 3 school .
You are simply proving your insane partisan hack views and nosense trying to compare that empty-headed bim to a Rhodes Scholar and former president.

In-fucking-deed. THAT is the real question. All of this....crap!....that we are wading through, all of this sand being tossed up in the faces of the American people (yes, GOPers, that means you, too! If the liberals, for lack of a better word, are being attacked, then you are being duped), all of this tablet campaigning is just window dressing to keep us good and confused up and past the election so that the Republics[sic] can make one more run at stealing another election. Count on the fact that these people forgot how to engage fairly a long time ago. The word "fair" may not even be in their lexicons at this point.
What we need to do is push back in any and all ways.
