O'REILLY: Now, I have a lot of people who call me on the radio and say she looks angry. And I have to say there's some validity to that. She looks like an angry woman. Did you ask her about that?
JOHNSON: Don't they say that about you, too?
O'REILLY: Yeah, but I'm not running for -- I'm not going to be the first lady.
JOHNSON: But she's --
O'REILLY: I hope not, anyway. The perception is that she's angry in some quarters. Valid?
Of course a lot of your callers tell you they think she's angry, Bill. What else do you expect to hear from small-minded, racist people?

there are at least a measurable number of people who answer in polls and

when in the election booth, just will not be able to bring themselves to pull
the lever for someone who is black... or even half black. Shameful, but it's

It's so easy to smear people based on subjective perceptions of looks or by freezing a video frame that makes someone look a certain way. I could argue that Cindy McCain "looks cold and beady eyed", which would be unfair. It's all out smear. If you can't use Michelle's words against her, try to create misperceptions based on her looks.

I notice Bill'O use a shot of Michelle face while facing directly into the sun. I think most people would squint their faces to ward off the blinding sun. He doesn't show you the content of her emotion of what she is saying to justify her looks if she angry about something. I think his comment is very disrespectful in that he didn't even care to hear what she was saying to illicit her emotion. I don't know if that was racist or sexist or even both, but 100% very disrespectful in not allowing her to have a range of emotion that humans normally have.
Bill'O doesn't have anything on her, and he went after her for her comments about being really proud of American for the first time in her life. I feel the same way, that Americans are embracing the neighborly attitude of helping out the poor, instead of the republican "I got mine, screw you" attitude. Here we have Sarah Palin giving encouragement to a party that wants to succeed from the America and no media have gone after her for being unpatriotic. Somehow Bill'O goes after Michelle for being un-patriotic for being really proud of Americans. All Bill'O have on her is moments of facial expression that he has to conjure a sensationalistic news topic to feed the frenzy rightwinger with.
This week's meme is that she is an "angry black woman", without actually mentionning that she is black. Of course, this isn't much of a stretch from an "uppity black woman", so i would suggest that they're just looking for a synonym for "uppity".

To be honest, the Obamas do have a serious look often, and they should be aware the public is used to digesting fake smiles and garbage like that 24/7. Remember a lot of people in this country are deeply gullible, and think you can tell what a person's like by how nice they act. Just like W. running for office the first time... Also psychologically, it may be cliche but it's better to smile at your target audience than have a more serious look.
