Kathleen Parker Discovers Her Fellow Right Wingers Can Be A Nasty Bunch
By Nicole Belle Wednesday Oct 01, 2008 2:45pmParker, who last week called for Palin to step down, now finds herself the target of a Wingnut Two Minutes of Hate.
Allow me to introduce myself. I am a traitor and an idiot. Also, my mother should have aborted me and left me in a dumpster, but since she didn't, I should "off" myself. [..]
After 20 years of column writing, I'm familiar with angry mail. But the past few days have produced responses of a different order. Not just angry, but vicious and threatening.
And she knows vicious. Here's Parker in 2003, on the Democratic presidential candidates:
Here's a note I got recently from a friend and former Delta Force member, who has been observing American politics from the trenches: "These bastards like Clark and Kerry and that incipient ass, Dean, and Gephardt and Kucinich and that absolute mental midget Sharpton, race baiter, should all be lined up and shot."
Suck it up, Kathleen. You've been tossing red meat to a caged rabid animal for two decades. No sympathy when it finally bites you.
Now, she whines:
...when we decide that a person is a traitor and should die for having an opinion different from one's own, we cross into territory that puts all freedoms at risk.
You reap what you sow, Kathleen. How do you think the liberal community has felt since George Bush took office?

May I be the first to quote Nelson from The Simpson; "Ha-Haa!"
Yeah, not as much fun to be the one on the receiving end of the verbal lashing as it is being the one dishing it, is it? Very hard to feel sympathy on this one.
they go places meet new people and kill them!
She's an asshole too.
She deserves some credit for her final line quoted above.
But, yeah, welcome to the reality based world, Kathleen. Wipe your feet.
Grab some popcorn and enjoy the meltdown. I wonder how long Malkin and Assrocket can hold out before the horde turns on them, too. :-D
What goes around, comes around.
Hey Kathleen, don't dish it out if you can't take it.
You've been serving it up for awhile now, so dig in and eat.
Smell that? The rancid stench of hate. Couldn't happen to a nicer wing nut.
Jesus Fucking Christ in a pickup truck. Has this woman listend to right wing talk radio over that past 8 years? Has she heard of Michael Savage? Does she have any idea what Rush says on a daily basis? does she watch Sean Hannity... ever? Cry me a fucking river!
We all have to stand up and say-- this is deplorable behavior.
"You reap what you sow." is not an acceptable response to this viciousness. Do you want to be like the Bush Administration and sink to the level of those we criticize for their low standards?

Republican = Thin Skin. Always has.
No sympathy for you, Kathleen. You knew full well who you were sleeping with.
That's right, Kathleen, it doesn't feel very good after all, does it? You're just as bad as those you're now talking about... about time for your karmic dose.
Welcome to the REAL Republican Party Kathleen. You will soon discover what we know, Right Wing America is a cancer on not just us but on mankind.
Ned Flanders just changed his registration. Boo diddly hoo Kat.
Yes, no sympathy. Speaking the truth means nothing to the Republican party. It is loyalty to the Motherland or death. She sure is stupid to think just because she is one of them they would let her slide.
whaaaaaa!!!!
poor poor k parker,
she can throw shit and spew
hate and bigotry and racism,
but she has blacked out her
mirrow when it confronts
her. poor poor bitch. not pity here.
so don't ask for any.
Ahhh, Kathleen Parker...a woman who once wrote an entire column in which she asserted that she could tell W was a good guy because - I'm not kidding - he drove a white pickup.
Women shouldn't be in the military because Ms. Parker's active duty brother was big and brawny and girls are small and weak.
Blacks are scary because she lives in an all white neighborhood.
Then there was the gem about wife abuse where Ms. Parker used all the expertise her small world endowed her with to state that there was no such thing as men using rape and sleep deprivation to abuse their wives because when her hubby woke her up. it was all warm snuggly love.
After that one, I just quit reading her useless tripe.
Kathleen Parker is what the right loves in a woman; not too bright, not too ambitious, not much intellectual curiosity, willing to be there just for show, and always projecting an air of still being just a gal who needs a big strong guy to take care of her.

Couldn't have said it better. Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but there's only one set of facts. And the fact is, this has been the primary product of Rush, the Savage Weiner, Hannity, Medved, Hewitt, Elder, Prager, and of course, this woman.
To break ranks and demonstrate a consideration of the facts is to threaten the entire fantasy that is the Right-Wing Spin Cycle.
I agree, the behavior of these Freepers is despicable, but now she knows why any 'Freeper' is (not "should be considered' but "IS") a threat to Americans everywhere.
Let's see, we had an expression we used on the mean streets of New York when I was a kid...... Hhhmmm.... what was it.....
oh yeah.....TOUGH SHIT BABY, you had it comin'.
Does that word make sense in context or did they mean "insipid"?
Be sure to check this link that is on the post. It is a very good read...
TimeTogether @ 11:
The woman ignored that crap when it was being slung at others....now that she's been soiled, she "feels our pain"? Of course it is "deplorable behavior", it always has been. The Conservatives laugh at people like you...as the knife slowly slides in your back.
Sometimes the universe saves up all your transgressions and slings them back at you all at once. Kathleen is having one of those days. Karma is, indeed, a bitch.
Even though almost anyone can predict the response from these freaks their hypocrisy always seems to surprise me. I think that surely this time they will be intellectually honest but no way they their own world and never ever let the real world enter. Right wing Republicans have been making be sick to my stomach for almost 60 years and there is no end in sight.
I get those kinds of emails in my YouTube account all the time. The right-wingers are violent. Stuff like, "You suck. Kill yourself and all of your liberal friends."
Justice has strange ways!
Next thing you know, Melanie Morgan, Ann Coulter and Michelle Malkin will be having "Road to Damascus" epiphanies, too.
NOT.
Piss off, Parker. You've been part of the problem for a very long time.
Hi Kathleen. Welcome to the Reality-Based Community. Things look a lot scarier from out here, don't they?
Not to worry. On the plus side, the air is fresher, the company is smarter and most of the comedy is on purpose.
Pull up a chair, sit down, and prepare to tough it out as best you can along with the rest of us.
Ahhh, it's so nice to see the scumbag wingnuts finally getting a taste of their own medicine. They're all starting to turn on each other now. It's going to be fun watching the bloodbath!!!
Stan @ 27:
Hard to say. Reich-wingers are largely illiterate. Probably "insipid" -- unless he meant that Dean was simply on the verge of being an ass. Doubtful.
Oh, those god-fearin' conservatives ... destroying life and language with equal aplomb ...
Stan @ 27:
Must be one o' them thar "morans."
All of these conservative assholes will complain about Palin but still vote for her anyway. It must be a bitch when both of your canidates suck.
It's nice to see the Republicans in such bad shape. I lived through to many years of their dysfunctional rule and I need a break from the incompetence. If only there was a way we could do away with them for good.
TimeTogether @ 11:
Um... "We" didnt do it: one of her fellow wing-nuts did. We're just commenting about that.
In true delusional rightwing thinking, she blames "partisanship"! Sure. The Republicans have been in congressional control for 14 years with the exceptin of the last 20 months, have held the Presidency for the last 8 years and have systematically purged Democrats from practically all levels of government. What a joke.
TimeTogether @ 11:
that says it all very good......i heard an interview with
a (R) alaska state representative. this person suggested
that Palin takes criticism/challenges to her policies very
personal. making it rather difficult. this is very typical
of black and white thinkers. the inability to process some differences. it also goes against the hardwiring
of people under the wrath of self-deception.
Geeze Louise
Conservatards are such whiners!
I for one am having a grand old time watching/listening to the right and their water carriers lose it, and losing it they are, their rhetoric is getting really really fierce now, they are just falling all over themselves and pulling out vile crap like never before. I wonder how they will take their losses come November 5th.....if the past 8 years of their vile rantings are any indication, they will not go away quietly. Ms. Parker, pls, victim isn't a good color for you.
Republicans play nice with you as long as you play by their rules. But when you step out of line you become a target of their anger. I guess Kathleen knows that now.
I wonder if McCain was talking about her when he mentioned the cocktail party set who is critical of Palin.
Last Sunday Stephanopoulos confronted McCain with the article Parker had written stating that Palin should be replaced. McCain acted as though he didn't recognize Parker's name. Just recently McCain was asked by someone if he was surprised that some were calling for Palin to step down or be replaced and he said he hadn't heard anything about something like that.
McCain seems to think we don't remember events from one minute or day until the next. Or maybe he's the one who can't remember.

Sorry, she ain't one of us just because she wrote one column that agrees with us. She's still a hateful, spiteful right wing columnist who suggested some Democrats should be shot and killed for their beliefs. Next week she'll be back to her old ways.
material vessel @ 1:
That's funny. I had the exact same first thought.
Wake up and smell the coffee, Kathleen! There are so-called "Americans" who do not believe in individual freedoms like free speech and freedom of assembly. They are the ones call for killing those who disagree with them and would throw in jail those who would protest on the street. I ask you: what is the difference between these so-called "Americans" and terrorists?
Why do the right wingnuts hate Americans?
Classic! Who let the dawgs out? You did!
No sympathy for one who has been a propagandist for an unworthy cause. She helped create the monster that is snapping at her throat. I wonder if she'll learn anything from it?
If you follow the articles and see where the "... should all be lined up and shot" comes from, she gives the guy a pass and says "OK, so he's a little emotional. We'll pardon him, given that earlier in the day he had learned of a pal's death in Afghanistan with whom he served several years."
When the figurative gun is pointed at her, then "we cross into territory that puts all freedoms at risk." Too bad she didn't feel the same way about someone who felt no better towards Democratic Candidates for President.
Hey Kathleen, if you're not with them, you're against them...remember...
btw, take it to a "free speech zone".
Poor, poor KP; after telling whoppers for years, she decided to tell an extremely obvious truth - for once.
Go back to bashing the Left, sweetie; we won't threaten your life even when you lie about us.
Like you do most of the time.
It's a horrible, horrible crime to tell even one truth about the rabid right.
Mmmmkay?
There is only one thing more satisfying than watching a cannibalistic right-wing feeding frenzy, and that is hearing the victim whine about it.

"It is a disease that took over the country by screaming that everyone who disagreed with it was a god-hating traitor, and if you expect one iota of pity from anyone on this side of the moral Universe for finally getting bitten by the mad dog you’ve been feeding all these years, you can go fuck yourself with a steam hammer.
Once that disease is eradicated, we’ll get right back to playing nice.
But until then, Anna Karenina, your locomotive is waiting.”"

Spare us the vapors honey. You knew what you were getting into when you started this crap.
Only it's not so funny when it's you on the receiving end, is it?
omg, these nutbags sound as nutty as the Clay Aiken fans whenever anyone would bring up his hidden homosexuality and their rabid defense of his manliness. I mean, they have met him haven't they. But I digress.
In this multi-media world we now live in I think "we" sometimes do become too invested in media figures, pundits, rock stars, actors, etc. because we are provided a overwhelming cacophony of useful and useless information at our instantaneously-grubbing fingertips.
It's all part of the "sale." Get us hooked and we'll keep coming back. Just ask any crack dealer.
…when we decide that a person is a traitor and should die for having an opinion different from one’s own, we cross into territory that puts all freedoms at risk.
Translation:
…when we decide that a fellow conservative person is a traitor and should die for having an opinion slightly different from one’s own, we cross into territory that puts all conservatives' freedoms at risk.
Haha, nailed...

I'm feeling mellow,

Maybe some of these people are waking up and seeing the light. Perhaps an interview with her by John or Nicole and try to see where she's going to go. I've never heard of her but I trust C&L'rs she's been rabid but I think these are the people who need to come out of the closet and tell their listeners that for this one time they should vote Obama/Biden. To tell their listeners that McCain/Palin is more of the same and worst and to fix America it's gotta be a Dem president.
Perhaps a kick in the teeth to the people that may be coming across to your camp is not the best idea. Every vote not for McSame counts.
btw the Canadian election leaders debate is tonight too. You can see what our bland neo-con PM has to say for himself and our bland royal opposition types too. I hope bland is good.
Don't you just long for the days of Dwight D. Eisenhower, when Republicans and Democrats were civil to each other and worked together in Congress? The rats who have taken over the G.O.P. should be hived into their bible-belt churches and allowed to drown in their own bile. It is the Evangelicals who hate the most. Join 'em Parker!
Kathleen says:
"…when we decide that a person
is a traitor andshould die for having an opinion different from one’s own, we cross into territory that puts all freedoms at risk. "Yeah, and that's why we used to have a Constitution that guaranteed our freedom and civil rights - the same Constitution that Bush and his neo-con friends (with her support) have been dismantling for lo these past 8 years.
Maybe Kathleen should start reading like, ya' know, the Patriot Act, or the FISA bill, or maybe a couple dozen of Georgie's signing statements...!!!
Thats what happends when you sleep with the Devil, Kathleen
[Deleted. Uh, ick-Sitemonitor]
I shed not a tear.
What you have discovered, Kathleen, is that Republicans do not take kindly to the truth.
What time does the debate start tonight?
Kate, you have faced the enemy and she is you.
Capatain Bitter Elitist Kangaroo @ 10:
...but she thought it was about those 'other' people, not her.
On a better note crude oil is down to about $93.00 a barrel. :^)
Who could have predicted that the sharks Kathleen chose to swim with would attack her themselves, once the scent of blood was in the water...
It really is troublesome when the mirror is held up to your own ugly and hateful face, isn't it, Kathleen?
And that "angry mail" you've received in the past, gosh, you had no idea that the anger was on another level when it's coming from your own minions?
You, sir and or madam, are an idiot, and I believe that you deserve to reap what you have sown.
Is that fair?
Too bad if it's not, it's the reality that you helped create, enjoy your own personal Frankenstein(s).
I hate to say it but our comments here are sounding pretty partisan. Let's not be guilty of what we fault the opposition for doing. We should collectively take this opportunity to strengthen our cause by welcoming new people/ideas/perspectives.
So she's learning (the hard way) that maybe she was on the wrong side of an important issue. Better late than never.
After all, wasn't it Abe Lincoln who said:
"The best way to destroy an enemy is to make him a friend."..?
Kathleen; yeah, it sucks. I hear you. Give us a call when you're ready.
People like Parker have been sore winners these last 8 years. They'll be sore losers when Obama wins. Look for more violence out of them.
On a more positive note, maybe she'll do some soul-searching and come to realize how wrong she's been all these years. Nah!!!!
dejah @ 60:
Actually, I wonder if she did know what she was getting into.
I have not read a her column in a year, but I seem to remember that she seemed remarkably uninformed and naive.
Not that that's en excuse; just sayin'.
I think that KP has a very superficial, George Bush kinda worldview...
No sympathy here. If she chose to play that game she has to face the possibility of being on the receiving end.
Time to suck it up, Kathleen. Put on your big girl panties and deal with it.
It's always amusing when right-wingers start eating their own. Sure, everyone loves the smell of their own brand until one wakes up and realizes the product is a vapid stool. But to cry foul that it smells, decades after the majority has been trying to say the exact same thing, well it just loses it's novelty. The GOP needs to go dormant and rediscover themselves. They have imploded with hate, derangement, greed, you name it. they're ill from their own doing and have run out of people to blame. Rats in a corner!
Her response sounds more like a commie, socialist, fag-loving, blame America first tree hugger to me. I wonder if she'll have a Scrooge-wake-up moment I was hoping from Ted Haggard....

I've been a voter for 43 years, and until the arrival of GW Bush, I've never in my life voted a straight ticket. I always believed the country was in good hands no matter which party had the WH. Boy. was I ever wrong! I am now the yellowist of the Yellow Dog Democrats, and I will never vote for anyone who isn't a registered Democrat. The rethuglican party has been destroyed these last 8 years, and it's now all people as you are seeing John McCain behave, they are ugly, vindictive, hypocritical and scurrilous liars. They are corrupt, incompetent, irresponsible and reprehensible. They must be avoided at all costs.
Ok...I know it's become cliched..but...call the WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHMBULANCE.

No, Sheryl, if we were the ones dishing it out, that would be one thing. For the right to eat the children it's born...too darned bad. I had hate mail in my brief stint as a journalist, namely someone suggesting that I should be caned. Difference was, this was a very small community. Chances are, anybody I wrote about would be in the stands at at least one basketball game or council meeting or what-have-you. When you have to eat where you live, it makes a big difference. You learn to respect the power of the keyboard under you like you should respect a loaded gun in your hand or the lethal potential of any car you drive.
If she's suddenly the "victim" of the hatemongerers whose prejudices and knee-jerk reactions she's fed for years, well boo-@#$%^&-hoo. The First Amendment is a responsibility as well as a right. Funny how a liberal has to explain that, ain't it?
"Now, she whines:

and the are armed.
Kathleen, head to the nearest supermarket and pick up some Zantac, cause it is going to get a lot worse. Also, you will need to work on your thin skin now. Also tell your children, if you have any, that they will be targets too. Nothing is off-limits to those people. Oh wait, you should have already known that. Good Luck, and remember if you need someone to provide support don't call us!!!
I agree with most or all of the sentiments here, and completely understand them. At the same time, there is a sliver, however small, of me that feels bad for her. Feels bad in the sense that it takes something this strong to open her eyes, to see how the other half lives. Our people have been getting the short end of the stick for too long, and the anger and frustration is terrible, but still I can bring myself to kick her, more than anything I could care less. Forget this woman, lets just watch as we reach the tipping point tonight.
The truth is like sunlight, you can only obscure it for so long, and when it shines through, nothing can stop it. There has been immeasurable damage done, but we lose focus when we bash this woman who has so much hate and ignorance in her life that she cant see how bad she is for society.

Nine, eastern time.
Well I'm sorry, but we are always complaining about the misstatements and outright lying of the right and now we have a few who are calling it like it is, admitting that they shouldn't have been cheerleading for this empty vessel Palin and now we are going to say they're getting what they deserve.
I don't agree. I'm glad a few people are finally speaking up and NOT towing the party line. Isn't this what we've wanted, what we've asked for.
I don't care for Kathleen Parker, nor the National Review, but people she wrote the truth this time. She took a stand. That should count for something here.
Parker should know better then to upset the Evangelicals by talking this about Sarah "Gidget" Palin.
John Wayne and Gidget
The Republican inability to empathize until something actually happens to them personally is typical and a huge problem.

"You reap what you sow" is not antithetical to "this is deplorable." It is deplorable, AND people like Kathleen Parker need to know that it is not a new phenomenon, but one they have been fostering for years. They NEED to learn that, and if having the beast they've fed turn on them is the only way to teach that lesson, so be it.
And by the way, if you think pointing that out brings us down to the level of the Bush Administration, you have not the slightest clue about the seriousness of what's been happening for the last eight years. This post is not about rhetorical equity or gentlemen-like debate, and your superficial attempt to take the high road is betrays your equally superficial, and frankly woeful and disgusting, understanding of American politics.
I'd have a lot more sympathy for her if she'd acknowledge her own prior tolerance-- and encouragement-- of this sort of threatening behavior from right-wing zealots.
Parker is getting a first hand dose of the James Dobson, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robinson, Southern Baptist Conference, CHRISITAN CONSERVATIVE REPUBLICAN PARTY OF GOD, and their radical, fanatical followers REAL attitudes. Now these hypocristes will add Parker to their "Hate-List" along the gays, abortionist, demon-democrats and ANYONE who DARES to guestion the GOD ORDAINED, DEITY LEVEL REPUBLICAN PARTY and their ANOINTED.
These right winged fanaticals are the greatest threat to our democracy...and we are fighing Mulsim extremist in the middle east while these NUTS have the KEYS to Pennsylvania Ave for their brain-dead puppet Palin and wimpy ex-'maverick' McCain who caved to their dremands for Palin to be on the ticket.
Kathleen now realizes that disgreement is near impossible with these groups of her own party, either she continues to walk the 'yes' path and agree with them, or she will suffer their wrath,if she does not agree with them.
I am sure reading the letters mailed to her was not a pleasant experience, but may be reading them was an eye opener.
Karen @ 107,
You stated so clearly what I was thinking, although my thoughts were muddled, long winded and fragmented, while yours were concise.
Thanks.
CorporateImposter @ 77:
That's not what's happening here at all. You should read her original article that garnered this backlash from the right.
She's a member of the corporate crook faction of the Republican Party, and she's uncomfortable with Palin, a religious zealot and outright idiot, being placed at the helm. She wants a *competent* corporate crook and war promoter; someone who can place the religious right back in their little box and let the DeLays and Gingrich's run the party.
This is an example of the party fracturing and the factions attacking one another. Apparently this woman has never much cared about the threats and attacks that her party's thugs like to carry out because she's never been on the receiving end. It was only those dirty liberals before. Only Democrats and minorities and other people that don't matter. Now it's her, and it's unacceptable.
Defend her if you like, but she doesn't deserve it.

That's her side of the aisle that it is coming from.. although I have no doubt that she has received some angry letters from the left of center crowd over the years, she herself says that what she is receiving now is different... and worse...
And that she understands the Dixie Chicks, now. Hmmm. How about that. I'm sure she spoke up at the time in Defense of them, right? Or did she sit quietly and nod?
It's been people like her and Rush and O'Reilly and Hannity... ad infinitum that made their bed... pretty sharp those edges are aren't they? Careful you don't cut yourself.
CorporateImposter @ 77:
It will apparently come as a surprise to 93.14159 percent of the posters on this thread that you will not find yourself depleted by showing a little compassion to others, particularly those with whom you disagree. KP took a principled position and now she's being vilified by the right for, and somehow the left seems justified in taking the opportunity to vilify her for everything else she has said. About 250 years before Lincoln some other glib orator said....
The quality of mercy is not strained.

Kathleen is truly an offensive rethugliCON a**hole. I can't imagine a more deserving person to suffer the venom of her ilk. Bad karma?
KARMA!
I feel sorry for Philippine-American Michelle Malkin. She is a prisoner of her own racist wingnuttery. The minute she expresses any dissent , her followers will launch a racist fatwa against her.

Oh really, so you stuck up for free speech in the face of threats of physical violence when it was directed at who exactly?
... when they came for the Dixie Chicks, you said nothing. Now there's no one that wants to speak for you.
But don't worry newbie. They're all hot air. You're overreacting.
I appreciate all the thoughtful replies to my post. I know that being concern about the (relatively) mild comment "you reap what you sow" may seem superficial compared to the vicious comments he refers to-- but here's my concern. It's too easy to become what you are fighting. Often at the end of even a peaceful revolution, the victories gate-crashers have come to resemble the occupiers of the status quo. You may be more concerned about the revolution itself. We all have our priorities. So it goes.
The vile and fascist future imagined by the likes of Cheney is the future that sends a chill down our spines. We've been scrambling on the lip of that abyss for 8 long years.
Since Florida. And I consider Bush & the gang murderers and war criminals. Election-- democracy-- compromised. I have no illusions about the seriousness of 'the other side." But I don't want to fight fire with fire.
Don't we all have family members who supported Bush? Many of these rabid supporters have been lied to. These are people who actually believe Fox news is fair & balanced. Heck even Palin told her own son he was going to Iraq to fight those who attacked us on 9/ll. They are just sheep.

Don't come crying to us you whiny bitch. You made your bed. Now lie in it. We don't take prisoners either.

"You reap what you sow, Kathleen."
no kidding... she's as much to blame for that bilious and vile dialectic as they are... she should have stood up to it LONG AGO... and now that it's biting her on her tush, she has no right to play victim... this is unfortunately the logical result of allowing rabid loons free reign... they inevitably start shooting at each other... and the same will happen to the MSM... they give the loons FAR too much airtime without challenging them on it... and i for one, will have no sympathy whatsoever when they start scrambling for survival... they have a responsibility to the truth and if they're not prepared to stand up for it now... no one's going to care when they finally see the light at the end of the consequences of their ignorance...
"all that's required for evil to exist in this world is for good people to stand by and do nothing"
and while i write these words, wolf and lou dobbs are spewing that same tired meme of "liberal elite".... F***K!!!...
Lou... you have no right to whine about "unconscionable acts" when the sh*t you spew on a daily basis is even more heinous because of your profile... i used to actually pay some attention to your crap... but now... the channel is immediately switched as soon as i see you on air... and every word you now speak just sends shivers of disgust down my spine... and wolf... you are not that far behind him... damn!... but these idiots just won't learn until the freaks start targetting them as well... wtf and why tf would you expect any different... and back to kathleen... good!!!... you deserve to fear for your life because you helped to create those conditions... F***K YOU...
I'm guessing the people doing the threatening don't use their real name and add their phone number and address. They're the same kind of people that make threatening phone calls and write anonymous notes. They are cowards with low self-esteem that need anger management to improve their miserable lives. It's scary how many people are out there who are seething just beneath the surface. To anyone who is that angry, get help now.

Hate to shatter your world view, but if you do some reading, what Abe was thinking and was right about was who he feared. The foreign bankers who helped fund the Confederacy for their own ambitions were the one's who did him in.
karma is sooooooooooooooooooo sweet!
biketowork @ 132:
Biketowork,
Poor MN USA doesn't understand that they would kill her in a second. And I don't really think Biketowork is YOUR real name either. Go peddle your BS on Powerline or LGF. See where it gets you.
Since I have been reading all kinds of political websites for the last 4 years, I have noticed one particular thing: Republicans bloggers are the most foul-mouthed, hateful people I have ever read. Their hate knows no bounds, and the words that come out of their keyboards............well, let's just say they make a sailor blush. Why are they so hateful and angry? As a Democrat, naturally I am loyal to my party and its candidates, but I have never said the things these unbalanced people say or wished such heinous happenings on another human being just because their ideology is different from mine. I fear for Obama's life, because right now it looks as if he's going to be our next President. What will these lunatics do?
ooh! I hope she owns a bullet-proof vest.
What comes around.....
I live in the bible belt and I can tell you that you will never find any people more revolting and vile then a christian conservative.
I don't think you can be a conservative and a christian.
They are diametric opposite. If you find one you know they are lying.
republican = insanity.
Maybe Kathleen Parker was trying to salvage any credibility she may have had. Maybe she really had her eyes opened. Maybe she will have an epiphany like Arriana Huffington, and become a liberal!
In any case, she borrowed someones cojones to write that article. She is feeling the heat of karma biting her in the ass, but this could be a life-changing experience for her.
She can exorcise this poltergeist....
"Go to the light," Kathleen, "go to the light"....
I confess, Che, I am an apostate and a LGF-reading, child-eating Republican turncoat because I have compared the anger and blind rage of my fellow progressives with that of our counterparts on the right. Now I'll go back and try to get some work done.

Watch the Palin/Biden debate. The Canadian debate will only be exciting if they put pies on the table. Harper has already said "the fundamentals of the economy are strong". so there...
It reminds me of the story of the scorpion and the frog:
One day, a scorpion looked around at the mountain where he lived and decided that he wanted a change. So he set out on a journey through the forests and hills. He climbed over rocks and under vines and kept going until he reached a river.
The river was wide and swift, and the scorpion stopped to reconsider the situation. He couldn't see any way across. So he ran upriver and then checked downriver, all the while thinking that he might have to turn back.
Suddenly, he saw a frog sitting in the rushes by the bank of the stream on the other side of the river. He decided to ask the frog for help getting across the stream.
"Hellooo Mr. Frog!" called the scorpion across the water, "Would you be so kind as to give me a ride on your back across the river?"
"Well now, Mr. Scorpion! How do I know that if I try to help you, you wont try to kill me?" asked the frog hesitantly.
"Because," the scorpion replied, "If I try to kill you, then I would die too, for you see I cannot swim!"
Now this seemed to make sense to the frog. But he asked. "What about when I get close to the bank? You could still try to kill me and get back to the shore!"
"This is true," agreed the scorpion, "But then I wouldn't be able to get to the other side of the river!"
"Alright then...how do I know you wont just wait till we get to the other side and THEN kill me?" said the frog.
"Ahh...," crooned the scorpion, "Because you see, once you've taken me to the other side of this river, I will be so grateful for your help, that it would hardly be fair to reward you with death, now would it?!"
So the frog agreed to take the scorpion across the river. He swam over to the bank and settled himself near the mud to pick up his passenger. The scorpion crawled onto the frog's back, his sharp claws prickling into the frog's soft hide, and the frog slid into the river. The muddy water swirled around them, but the frog stayed near the surface so the scorpion would not drown. He kicked strongly through the first half of the stream, his flippers paddling wildly against the current.
Halfway across the river, the frog suddenly felt a sharp sting in his back and, out of the corner of his eye, saw the scorpion remove his stinger from the frog's back. A deadening numbness began to creep into his limbs.
"You fool!" croaked the frog, "Now we shall both die! Why on earth did you do that?"
The scorpion shrugged, and did a little jig on the drownings frog's back.
"I could not help myself. It is my nature."
Hey Kathleen, why are you so surprised...IT IS THEIR NATURE.
This kind of reminds me of Yasir Arafat. After 30 years of whipping young men up into a rage over destroying Israel at any cost, he finally achieved his REAL political goal, which was to cut a political deal with Isreal. Well, the trouble with whipping nutcases up in to THAT much of a rage is that they can't be shut off as easily as they were turned on.
I live in Texas and I have bumper stickers that are anti-Bush, anti-war, anti-surveillance, and anti-fascism. Unfortunately, I don't have one that mentions free speech because I have had a few right wing nuts threaten me. They are a vicious bunch when you wander away from the republican: America--love it or leave it mentality. But I am a Texas native and I will continue to have bumper-stickers that are in their face. I don't like the McCain/Palin stickers but I don't act the fool--I already know they are idiots and to steer clear.
This hack is a dictionary definition of a repukelican "fluff".
james Ratliff @ 140:
no kidding... just remember to endlessly repeat the following, "jesus was a liberal"... over and over and over again... perhaps, with some luck, they will finally get it.... good luck with the hell you inhabit... been there, done that... never again... i've lost all tolerance for that particular form of hypocritical stupidity...
Pericles @ 145:
Good analogy. I agree.
Also reminds me of the Israeli right. After 60 years of disenfranchising the region's indigenous population by compelling them to self-disposess, and then when that wasn't enough to flat out engage in wholesale land theft, we finally find out the real goal hasn't changed since the beginning. Israel is a colony engaged in the willful eviction of indigenous people, by design, while calling the obvious retaliation and war that results "terrorism" in order to fake out the clueless into thinking it has moral superiority instead of total moral bankruptcy. And now there are a bunch of religious delusionals who have announced that that the state of Israel is their enemy, as they get increasingly concerned they might have to end their illegal settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Even Netanyahu commemorated the 60th aniversary of the bombing of the King David Hotel at the hands of Jewish terrorist groups. Netanyahu saying terrorists, who killed people, with bombs, are freedom fighters. And just last week, another Jewish terrorist group planted a bomb (and injured) Peace Now activist and renowned Professor Zeev Sternhell. But of course these people are called Jewish extremists, not terrorists. Only Palestinian bombers are called terrorists.
Yes just like that. They're all fuckin crazy is the problem. Turn on the crazy is easy. Turning it off, not so much.
Pericles @ 145:
exactly... i totally agree and the corollary opposite is that the trust they've destroyed will take lifetimes to rebuild... there is no bloody way i will ever look at a religious-conservative without immediately mistrusting them again... i will always be on guard for the subtle cues and if any of these freaks don't toe the line around me, then i will be more than happy to (dialectically) slap their stupidity back into the meek and humble place of sheepish humility without hesitation...
